Record .txt to oracle table

I need moving records from .txt to oracle table. It is used in a System Oracle, then I can not use the utl_file or sql-loader. This moving will do step by step.

funny, that you get that short error. I get:
select * from test

  • How to find out insertion time of records in an oracle table

    Hi everybody,
    I have a table with about 50,000 records in my Oracle database and there is a date column which shows the date that each record get inserted to the table, for example 04-Aug-13.
    Is there any way that I can find out what time each record has been inserted?
    For example: 04-Aug-13 4:20:00 PM. (For my existing records not future ones)
    I searched over the internet and find some results but none of them seem to be practical.
    Thanks for your help.

    I have a table with about 50,000 records in my Oracle database and there is a date column which shows the date that each record get inserted to the table, for example 04-Aug-13.

    For example: 04-Aug-13 4:20:00 PM. (For my existing records not future ones)
    First you need to clarify what you mean by 'the date that each record get inserted'.  A row is not permanent and visible to other sessions until it has been COMMITTED and that commit may happen seconds, minutes, hours or even days AFTER a user actually creates the row and puts a date in your 'date column'.
    Second - your date column, and ALL date columns, includes a time component. So just query your date column for the time.
    The only way that time value will be incorrect is if you did something silly like TRUNC(myDate) when you inserted the value. That would use a time component of 00:00:00 and destroy the actual time.

    Regards,

    Hi Gyan,
    The error reads  The value for field "ACTUALWEIGHT_LASTDIE" is invalid.  Value cannot be null.
    You need to ensure below things:
    1) Ensure that all the columns in the oracle table allow NULL.
    2) The field which is getting the error should have property Nillable set to True and Min Occurs = 0.
    3) You also need to configure your WCF_Oracle adapter properly i.e. SOAP Action (see for instance this
    thread).
    Why SOAP Action?
    If you used the default bindings which were created when generating your schema, they are usually created wrapped within an operation.
    Unless the send port within your orchestration's operation matches the same name as the enclosing operation tag in the "SOAP action header" sending messages using the default setting will fail.
    So to ensure that your send port works just supply a URL for the "SOAP action header" setting.

    I had a similar requirement to you and put the code on a push button. In my case the reports are being run interactively to the screen and then printed, and I have no way to know whether the report had actually been printed, so we rely on the user pressing the button. Of course there is a danger that the user forgets to press the button, but in our situation that would not be disasterous. Whatever method is used, I don't think there is any way to be sure that it has actually come out of the printer.

  • Need help for SQL SELECT query to fetch XML records from Oracle tables having CLOB field

    Hello,
    I have a scenario wherein i need to fetch records from several oracle tables having CLOB fields(which is holding XML) and then merge them logically to form a hierarchy XML. All these tables are related with PK-FK relationship. This XML hierarchy is having 'OP' as top-most root node and ‘DE’ as it’s bottom-most node with One-To-Many relationship. Hence, Each OP can have multiple GM, Each GM can have multiple DM and so on.
    Table structures are mentioned below:
    OP:
    Name                             Null                    Type
    OP_NBR                    NOT NULL      NUMBER(4)    (Primary Key)
    OP_DESC                                        VARCHAR2(50)
    OP_PAYLOD_XML                           CLOB
    GM:
    Name                          Null                   Type
    GM_NBR                  NOT NULL       NUMBER(4)    (Primary Key)
    GM_DESC                                       VARCHAR2(40)
    OP_NBR               NOT NULL          NUMBER(4)    (Foreign Key)
    GM_PAYLOD_XML                          CLOB
    DM:
    Name                          Null                    Type
    DM_NBR                  NOT NULL         NUMBER(4)    (Primary Key)
    DM_DESC                                         VARCHAR2(40)
    GM_NBR                  NOT NULL         NUMBER(4)    (Foreign Key)
    DM_PAYLOD_XML                            CLOB
    DE:
    Name                          Null                    Type
    DE_NBR                     NOT NULL           NUMBER(4)    (Primary Key)
    DE_DESC                   NOT NULL           VARCHAR2(40)
    DM_NBR                    NOT NULL           NUMBER(4)    (Foreign Key)
    DE_PAYLOD_XML                                CLOB
    +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
    SELECT
    j.op_nbr||'||'||j.op_desc||'||'||j.op_paylod_xml AS op_paylod_xml,
    i.gm_nbr||'||'||i.gm_desc||'||'||i.gm_paylod_xml AS gm_paylod_xml,
    h.dm_nbr||'||'||h.dm_desc||'||'||h.dm_paylod_xml AS dm_paylod_xml,
    g.de_nbr||'||'||g.de_desc||'||'||g.de_paylod_xml AS de_paylod_xml,

    h.dm_nbr = g.dm_nbr(+) and
    i.gm_nbr = h.gm_nbr(+) and
    j.op_nbr = i.op_nbr(+)
    +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
    I am using above SQL select statement for fetching the XML records and this gives me all related xmls for each entity in a single record(OP, GM, DM. DE). Output of this SQL query is as below:
    Current O/P:
    <resultSet>
         <Record1>
              <OP_PAYLOD_XML1>
              <GM_PAYLOD_XML1>
              <DM_PAYLOD_XML1>
              <DE_PAYLOD_XML1>
         </Record1>
         <Record2>
              <OP_PAYLOD_XML2>
              <GM_PAYLOD_XML2>
              <DM_PAYLOD_XML2>
              <DE_PAYLOD_XML2>
         </Record2>
         <RecordN>
              <OP_PAYLOD_XMLN>
              <GM_PAYLOD_XMLN>
              <DM_PAYLOD_XMLN>
              <DE_PAYLOD_XMLN>
         </RecordN>
    </resultSet>
    Now i want to change my SQL query so that i get following output structure:
    <resultSet>
         <Record>
              <OP_PAYLOD_XML1>
              <GM_PAYLOD_XML1>
              <GM_PAYLOD_XML2> .......
              <GM_PAYLOD_XMLN>
              <DM_PAYLOD_XML1>
              <DM_PAYLOD_XML2> .......
              <DM_PAYLOD_XMLN>
              <DE_PAYLOD_XML1>
              <DE_PAYLOD_XML2> .......
              <DE_PAYLOD_XMLN>
         </Record>
         <Record>
              <OP_PAYLOD_XML2>
              <GM_PAYLOD_XML1'>
              <GM_PAYLOD_XML2'> .......
              <GM_PAYLOD_XMLN'>
              <DM_PAYLOD_XML1'>
              <DM_PAYLOD_XML2'> .......
              <DM_PAYLOD_XMLN'>
              <DE_PAYLOD_XML1'>
              <DE_PAYLOD_XML2'> .......
              <DE_PAYLOD_XMLN'>
         </Record>
    <resultSet>
    Appreciate your help in this regard!

    Hi,
    A few questions :
    How's your first query supposed to give you an XML output like you show ?
    Is there something you're not telling us?
    What's the content of, for example, <OP_PAYLOD_XML1> ?
    I don't think it's a good idea to embed the node level in the tag name, it would make much sense to expose that as an attribute.
    What's the db version BTW?

  • Generating an excel sheet from an oracle table

    Hi,
    What is the easiest way to generate an .xls report from oracle i.e. when the user for example views some records in an oracle table using SQL_FORMS I want to then give them a button where they get a simple .xls report of the records in the table.

  • Updating Oracle table with info from Sybase query

    I hope this is the correct forum for this question.
    I am fairly new to Java and JDBC. I am trying to figure out what the best method for updating information in Oracle tables with data from a Sybase table. I would prefer to use Oracle’s transparent gateway but this is not an option my company will pay for so I am creating a java stored procedure and using JDBC to connect to the Sybase database.
    The process I think I need to go thru is
    1.     Query an Oracle table to get the records that need to be updated and the “key” information to query the Sybase table with.
    2.     Use that result to query the Sybase database to get the fields that need to be updated in the Oracle table for those records.
    3.     Update the records on the Oracle table with the data from the Sybase query.
    I know I can just do this procedurally, row-by-row, but I was wondering if anyone knows of a way to accomplish this with SQL and no loops. Is there a way to make a result set available as a “SQL table” for another JDBC query?
    Basically what I would like to do is:
    OraQuery = “ select sybinfo from sometable where updated_date = null”;
    Statement orastmt1 = OraConn.createStatement();
    ResultSet Orars1 = orastmt1.executeQuery (OraQuery);
    SybQuery = “select update_date, sybinfo from sybtable where sybinfo = Orars1.sybinfo”;
    Statement sybstmt = SybConn.createStatement();
    ResultSet Sybrs = sybstmt1.executeQuery (SybQuery);
    OraUpdate = “update (select update_date from sometable, Sybrs where sometable.sybinfo = Sybrs.sybinfo) set update_date = Sybrs.update_date”;
    Statement orastmt2 = OraConn.createStatement();
    ResultSet Orars2 = orastmt2.executeQuery (OraUpdate);
    This may not be possible but if anyone has done something similar and wouldn’t mind sharing I would appreciate it. If there is a “better” way of accomplishing this I am open to suggestions.
    Thanks

    you can try using cachedRowSet() for the Oracle side query.
    The rows in this could be populated using the sybase side query's resultset and then all of this could updated into Oracle in one shot.

  • Accessing multiple oracle tables using C#

    Hi you'll.
    I'm a newbie programmer, my first project is to find unmatched records bet two oracle tables.
    One requirements of my project is to write in .net platform. I read a lot of good reviews about using odp.net. I haven't work in any oracle related project.
    Would somebosy enlighten me with this project. Hopefully with codes or threads. Thanks

    If the purpose of your query is to master the fundamentals of using Oracle and .NET, I would recommend visiting the Beginners page on the OTN .NET site:
    http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/topics/dotnet/for-beginners/index.html
    If you have a couple of days to devote to learning, then read the 2 Day .NET book for a comprehensive overview. If not, then you can read the beginner article and/or review the OBE tutorials to learn how to perform different tasks with Oracle and .NET.

  • Insert XML data into oracle table

    I want to insert xml data returned by the VB code into oracle table.
    As a prequisite I have installed the XDK capabilities for Oracle by installing JServer & running
    SQL scripts catxsu.sql,xmlparserv2.jar,load.sql to load the XMLSQL Utility (DBMS_XMLQuery) into the database.
    I have also granted following privileges to the user.
    Grant users access to XMLParser and XMLDom packages:
         grant execute on xmldom to public;
         grant execute on xmlparser to public;
         create public synonym xmldom for sys.xmldom;
         create public synonym xmlparser for sys.xmlparser;
    But still i am not able to create procedure which will accept input parameter as an XML document coming from front end which in turn will insert that record into simple oracle table . I am using Oracle 8.1.7
    Thanks in advance

    Would you specify the database version?
    Since DBMS_XMLSave requires DOM, you normally need to divide the huge XML before insertion.

  • Need to store multiple xml files as each record in oracle table

    Hi All,
    I have a set of XML files (say 20 xml files). I need to store the enitire content of each file as a string into the oracle table.
    Do we have any PL/SQL procedures which will do this job. I will pass the path of the directory to the procedure, so that it takes all the xml files and store it in the table.
    After that i need to remove some tags of the xml. so it will be better if we store records as a string rather than of xmltype.
    Please help in achieving this.

    Hi Gyanchand,
    I have wrote an article BizTalk Server 2010: Grouping
    and Debatching/Splitting Inbound Messages (TypedPolled) from WCF-SQL Adapter  which is for SQL, but yes same can be done with Oracle.
    If grouping is not required then, you can overlook it and apply debatching only.

  • Uploading a file (.doc, .xls, .txt) into an Oracle table with BLOB column

    Hello All :
    I have been trying to figure out for a simple code I can use in my JSP to upload a file (of any format) into an Oracle table with a BLOB column type. I have gone through a lot of existing forums but couldnot find a simple code (that doesnot use Servlet, for eg.) to implement this piece.
    Thanks a lot for your help !!

    Hi.
    First of all to put a file into Oracle you need to get the array of bytes byte[] for that file. For this use for example FileInputStream.
    After you get the byte array try to use this code:
            try {
                Connection conn = myGetDBConnection();
                PreparedStatement pstmt = conn.prepareStatement("INSERT INTO table1 (content) VALUES(?)");
                byte[] content = myGetFileAsBytes();
                if (content != null) {
                    pstmt.setBinaryStream(0, new ByteArrayInputStream(content), content.length);
                pstmt.close();
                conn.close();
            } catch (Exception ex) {
                ex.printStackTrace();
            }or instead of using ByteArrayInputStream try pstmt.setBinaryStream(0, new FileInputStream(yourFile), getFileSize());Hope this will help...

    I have an excel document that has data organized in formats according to the columns of tables we have. Our database is 10 G and developers only have clients such as toad to manipulate database.
    There are two columns that are sequentially created using tbl.NEXTVAL in two different tables. They are called LEAD_ID and CUSTOMER_ID in LEADS and CUSTOMER table obviously these are not included in the file.
    CREATE tbl CUSTOMER ( int CUSTOMER_ID, varchar(40) FirsName, varchar(40) LastName )
    CREATE tbl LEADS ( int LEAD_ID, int CUSTOMER_ID, varchar(40) notes, varchar(40) status )
    The excel file is organized in cells that is consistent..
    Where do I start, how would I do it? and I am being asked to do it by tomorrow and I have no clue..Can I do this with oracle itself or I have to read the file through Java?
    Please give me some idea
    Thank you,

    Thanks for your suggestion with checking the log and bad file..It helped and was able to insert..
    Actually this is a real project.. and the actual data is in the hundreds or more.. The problem was I had put sysdate in double quotes and should have been without them. It is now inserting into the table.. however If I can ask one more question.. I have actually multiple tables that I need to insert into from an excel file which is organized in columns..
    For example.. let's say I have a row in the excel file as
    Claim_Number FirstName LastName
    A single insert would be inserting into four tables (CLAIMS, CUSTOMERS, LEADS, etc..)
    first on CLAIMS table that only takes the Claim_Number
    Second CUSTOMER table, that takes the Claim Number and Customer names ( FIRST and LAST)
    Third could be inserting the LEADS table with a sequenced lead number along with the customer name and claim number..
    So I would need to reuse the values three or four times for a single record to be inserted..
    Can you give me some idea?
    And also I have columns like ACCOUNT_TYPE that would be have same value always more like a constant or other columns like UPPER_FIRSTNAMEwith result that comes from a sql function with Uppse case of the other column.. which is just the upper case letter version of FIRST_NAME column.. and it won't be read from the input file.. How would I take care of such issues like the sysdate .. I tried the following shown in bold but didn't work..
    LOAD DATA
    INFILE 'c:\trex2.csv'
    BADFILE 'c:\trexbad.txt'
    APPEND
    INTO TABLE CC_CUSTOMERS
    FIELDS TERMINATED BY ","
    TRAILING NULLCOLS
         LAST_UPDATE_DATE sysdate,
         CUSTOMER_NUMBER "CC_CUSTOMERS_S.NEXTVAL",
         CUSTOMER_ID "CC_CUSTOMERS_S.NEXTVAL",
    UPPER_FIRSTNAME UPPER(:FIRST_NAME) ,
    ACCOUNT_TYPE CONSTANT 'Residential'
         FIRST_NAME,
         LAST_NAME
    Thank you in advance..
