Reference report column from another page?

I have a work order report with column link. Upon clicking link, control goes from page 2 to page 3 where I want to show details about components in work order. How do I reference the work order ID (report column on page2) from the query in page 3? I know I can reference page items, but how do you do you pass a value of a report column on the previous page?
Thanks.
Paul

Hi Paul,
Typically I would create an Item on the page being called (Page 3 in your case) to receive a value being passed via your Link; this item could be hidden or read-only. You might want to name yours; P3_WORK_ORDER_ID or something to reflect the Primary Key (PK) of your Work Order.
On the Link Column on Page 2; I assume that your Target Page is 3.
Down in the Link Column section under Name and Value ;
Name might read P3_WORK_ORDER_ID
Value might read *#WORK_ORDER_ID* this would reference the work order id column on the Page 2 report.
Now on your Page 3 report; your SQL would need within its Where clause something like this:
my_table.work_order_id = :P3_WORK_ORDER_ID

  • Ajax Report Pull from another Page Pagination override

    We are on a time crunch and need to get this application working in a timely manner, any help would greatly be appreciated..
    *[History leading up to problem]*
    We followed the code from this example http://apex.oracle.com/pls/otn/f?p=11933:48:4441142106394445 which pulls a report from another page using AJAX so we could update a report (in this case a tabular form). Since Tabular Forms cannot update past 30-40 records we had to turn on pagination to prevent errors when trying to submit it.
    Since Pagination on the bottom of the report/tabular form links to the other page the report is on, I decided to attempt to override next> href link to instead call a javascript with the url from next> (Report/Tabular Form Pagination) with Jquery the following code {the override is working} {comments added here for clarification}...
    var oldhref =$("a.t20pagination").attr("href"); //get Apex Pagination a href link location
    $("a.t20pagination").attr('href', "javascript:return false"); // change the Apex Pagination a href llink location to do nothing
    $("a.t20pagination").click(function () {   // Create an onclick for Apex Pagination a href that calls a javascript function
    get_report_page(oldhref); // This function is needed because I am grabbing the report from another page, I hope to
    }); // get this javascript working [the reason why I am asking this question here]
    $("a.t20pagination").removeClass("t20pagination"); // Removed the pagination class just in case it was causing issues.
    The function I am working on below... {I figured I have to do the htmldb_get function {I am still new to Apex so I am not totally clear on it, but learning}, to get the report again from the other page, but I need to add pagination.. So I figured I could split the link location based on the : and go through the array for the parts I need to pass in the htmldb_get}, with alerts to help diagnose the problem...
    function get_report_page(curUrl) {
    alert ('Hello how are you today?');
    var temp = new Array();
    temp = curUrl.split(':');
    alert ('I like the number '+temp.length);
    for ( var i=0, len=temp.length; i<len; ++i ){
    alert (i+":"+temp); // Square brackets actually used, changed to squiggly here to show
    var get = new htmldb_Get(null,$x('pFlowId').value,null,205,null, null, temp{4}); // Square brackets actually used, changed to squiggly here to show
    gReturn = get.get(null,'<htmldb:BOX_BODY>','</htmldb:BOX_BODY>');
    get = null;
    $x('ReportDrop').innerHTML = gReturn;
    *[Actual Problem]*
    Since the report is on another page (in this case 205) and is being pulled onto Page 200 where the user is, when the user clicks on the Next> for the report/tabluar form pagination, the user is automatically thrown to page 205 {I want to keep the user on page 200 and pass the pagination, then pull the report/tabular form again}
    I looked at the link http://apex.oracle.com/pls/otn/f?p=11620:63:834860992188521::NO::: but I am not sure where to stick the report pagination{I thought it would be queryString {above you see I am setting temp[4] in the queryString parameter}..
    I know the function is working since I get the alert messages, after that where the report would be it gives the following error...
    Bad Request
    Your browser sent a request that this server could not understand.
    mod_plsql: /pls/apex/wwv_flow.show HTTP-400 Signature Mismatch or Missing '='
    Oracle-Application-Server-10g/10.1.2.0.2 Oracle-HTTP-Server Server at nysastst.senate.state.ny.us Port 7778
    Can I simply splice the url like I am doing above and pass it to htmldb_get (or is there anyway to pass the report pagination using htmldb_get)?
    If so, what am I doing wrong?
    Also, does this seem like a decent solution or is there a better solution for this issue?
    - Thanks in advance,
    - Brian

    Thanks cb... it worked like a charm..
    but at first, I Could not get it to work because in my report that was being pulled from another page did not have Enable Partial Refresh set to Yes under Report Attributes > Layout and Pagination.. When it was off the a href link of the pagination was showing a standard link. Once Enable Partial Refresh was set to Yes, the pagination then showed a link to javascript:$a_report(...); which meant you can now override it with the javascript function.

  • Linking to a specific panel from another page and from higher up on same page Spry-UI-1.7

    Hi all,
    I am using Spry-UI-1.7 for a 4 tab tabbed panel on the bottom of my home page.  I'd like to link to the second tab from another page and also from the top of the home page.
    I previously used method: http://foundationphp.com/tutorials/spry_url_utils.php and it worked great.
    Now, with the Spry-UI-1.7 Tabbed Panel "widget", that method isn't working.
    I've reviewed the code from the samples page: http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/spry/samples/tabbedpanels/tabbed_panel_sample.htm
    but cannot figure out what I am doing wrong.  It shows the following code for linking from another page:
    <a href="#" onclick="TabbedPanels2.showPanel(1); return false;">Tab 2</a>
    I tried this 'as is' and it didn't work.
    I tried it with index.html in place of the # and it didn't work.
    (e.g.   <a href="index.html" onclick="TabbedPanels2.showPanel(1); return false;">Tab 2</a>   )
    What am I missing here?
    (I have the tabbed panel on "index.html" and want to link from "maps.html" and from the top of "index.html"
    Thanks for any help for this spry newbie! (read: I need it spelled out like I was a 6 yr. old

    How do I link to a specific Hero Image from another page?

    Hi Laura,
    I am afraid that this is not possible in Muse at this stage, I will recommend that you post this on our ideas section over here, https://forums.adobe.com/community/muse/ideas, and let our devs team know of this requirement.
    As a work around I will suggest that you create a dedicated page with this panel opened when you publish and link that page with the text that you want. Let me know if you need more clarification on this.

  • Importing variables from another page in jsp

    Hey.
    I want to make two pages. I want the first page to include the variables from another page or POJO.
    I did this but i cant use the variables in index.jsp without initializing them first. But when I initialize them i get an error when trying to initialize them two times.
    if i use the variable in index without saving i get an error in eclipse.. but it works if i save and deploy.
    Is there any way to make eclipse see that i have imported the variable?
    The pages look something like this:
    index.jsp
    <%@ include file="extra.jsp" %>
    Print the number from the extra page
    <%= number %>extra.jsp

  • How to link from another page directly to a photo within a Spry gallery?

    I have created a page that has a photo gallery using Donald's tutorial to make a spry photo gallery. I have a need to link to a specific photo in that gallery from another page. I have seen the discussions on how to do this with tabbed panels etc.. but wondering how to do it in this context.

    Add default slide to the constructor and use a similar process to http://foundationphp.com/tutorials/spry_url_utils.php
    var ImageSlideShow = new Spry.Widget.ImageSlideShow("#ImageSlideShow", {

    iPad revers back to a home screen from another page being used, IE Facebook    Good battery and wifi signal.   Sometimes several times in a couple of minutes. Could there be an problem with internal hardware

    Hi there
    My wife and I have been dealing with a very similar issue with our iPhone 5ss, all battery drain issues started after the upgrade to ios 7.03. We have performed numerous restores and have had 3 trips to the Genius Bar.  Finally they gave us new iPhones (yesterday).  We had hoped this would do the trick but we have the same problem on the new phones.
    This morning I restored one and didn't sign into iCloud.  Battery drain is now gone.  And when I deleted iCloud from my wife's phone it too went back to normal.  So I believe the culprit is iCloud and I am now testing various setups with iCloud to determine which app/setting is causing the problem.
    Hope this helps with your phones.  I will post again if I can narrow it down to something specific.
    Good luck!

  • Reference columns from another query

    I've made XML data template in Report Builder, which consists of multiple data queries and groups. When I use for each XML structure in Word template builder to obtain data, I get data only from one data query, and blanks for fields that I referenced from another group.
    Is there any way to solve that problem.
    Thanks in advanced for the answers.

    It seems to me that you are trying to get to a higher/parent element from within a lower/child group. So, use the ../ notation to get up to an element in a parent group. And add ../ as you go higher and higher. ex. <?../../CHECK_DATE?> Obviously, for referencing lower group, you just open the group with a for-each.
    Make it a habit to open and close your groups for ease of readability.

  • Export a report from another page with parameter problems...can it be done?

    Hi All,
    I have used Dennis Excel pkg which works fine if on the same page... however, I want users to enter two dates in my items
    P5_FIRST_DATE
    P5_SECOND_DATE
    I have manged to create a button that will execute the report on the second page without parameters
    by choosing the redirect to url and this does work...
    however, when i parameterize the url, it still works but does not send across the values
    here is what i am using in the url
    #a href="f?p=102:7:3458199286078769:FLOW_EXCEL_OUTPUT_R2491013790251874" ##a href="f?p=102:0:3458199286078769:DOWNLOAD_EXCEL:NO::T_REGION_ID,T_EXCEL_NAME,T_PAGE,PFIRST_DATE:R2491013790251874,my_report,7,:P5_FIRST_DATE"
    This does work... but does not putt the parameters across
    Can this be done? or is there a better way of doing this. I dont really want them to see the report because it just a list of urns with dates which the user enters which they will always want to download
    so i just want them to add the dates and download
    thanks for your time in reading this
    cheers

    Fazlar,
    This is how you do it:
    http://apex.oracle.com/pls/otn/f?p=23521:8
    You should never name your items
    P5_FIRST_DATE
    and put the item on the page 8. This is confusing and costs a lot of time to find out an item
    doesn't exist.

  • Report Columns in one Page

    Hi,
    I know the posts on the same issue exist in year 2002 exist but they doesn't seem to have any solutions, or at least do not have the proper answers that I want. Or maybe I miss it when I search.
    I have created a matrix report with groups above.
    Report data layout (example):
    Let's say the group above is by month and year (combined). Then the columns would be the departments while the rows would be the date of the month. The data would be the income type A, income type B, income type C and income type D.

    I can see that the report generates successfully. Rows and columns showing the correct data. However, the problem arises where one single month (let's say January 2006) of the report matrix group expand from page 1 to page 2 horizontally. And on page one, big amount of space left (below the first part of Janurary 2006 matrix group) which can actually accomodate either the first part of February 2006 matrix group or the rest of January 2006 matrix group. But it wasn't populated.

    {...and so on...}Instead, the February 2006 matrix group only started out on page 2 when the January 2006 matrix group ends.
    How can it be done, so that either the following be done?
    A) Second part of January 2006 fills up the first page as well instead of the empty space. Meaning the First part of January 2006 is above and 2nd part below thus filling up the first page. February 2006 would start off from 2nd page.
    B) First part of January and February 2006 fills up the first page and their second part ends at 2nd page.
    FYI, horizontal landscape of report is NOT preferable. Even if it is used, the same scenario persist.
    Hope someone can help me out here on this. Or at least show me how you do it alternatively.
    Thank you.

    Thanks for the reply.
    FYI, not every month have all the columns filled up. Meaning some months may have lesser columns resulting in smaller tables. That's why some of the months, their tables will fit into one page.
    Changing width of does not solve my problem because my reports are made for A4 paper size. Printing such a report with its width altered causes some part of the table which overflows out from A4 paper size not to be printed.
    The location of the value I changed can be found here:
    Paper Layout > Main Section > Property Sheet: Width
    Please do help. Thanks.

  • How to reference a region in another page?

    Hi,
    Say in page A there are a few regions defined (pl/sql, reports...)
    A page B in the same application would like to have a few of those regions, exactly the same. Is it possible to reference/symlink to them or do they have to be re-created and maintained in two places?
    Thanks,
    Marius

    reusable modular components that maintain state from one page to the next
    That is exactly what Page 0 is designed for.
    I agree that the fact that Page 0 components are magically processed by the SHOW engine is a little unexpected. The Page Definition page could put a (readonly?) stub on every page that that component would render on. But this is tricky to design. If you have setup your Page 0 components to conditionally render using some complex logic, you don't want the Builder running that logic every time it displays the Page Definition page!
    Instead, the Page Event view could be enhanced to show Page 0 components as I suggested at Enhancement request: Include application-level events
    If you do end up putting a report region on Page 0, please be aware of a bug as we discuss at Re: Report region on Page 0: Pagination issue
    Hope this helps.
