Refering to a column in a tabluar form

Hi all,<BR><BR>
Does anyone know how to refer to a column in a tabular form?<BR><BR>
I'm trying to refer to a column in the same way I would in a report i.e. #column_name# but this doesn't seem to work with a tabular form.<BR><BR>
Any ideas?<BR><BR>
Let me know if I need to be more specific.<BR><BR>
Cheers<BR>
Yog.

when your button in movieclip B is clicked, you want to direct movieclip A to a particular frame?
if so, you'll need to attach code to a timeline.  you'll need to have a reference to your button in movieclip B and a reference to movieclip A from that timeline.  if those references are mcB.btn and mcA, resp you can use:
mcB.btn.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK,clickF);
function clickF(e:Event){
mcA.gotoAndStop("whateverframe");

  • How to add a column in Item Master form with chooselist

    Hi Experts
    I add a column in Item Master Form in Stock Data Tab. In this column I want to add Choose list. For this I use AfterFormLoad event. It gives Error "Matrix Line Exist" . My code is given below
    If pVal.FormType = "150" Then
                    form = B1Connections.theAppl.Forms.GetForm(150, pVal.FormTypeCount)
                    form.PaneLevel = 3
                    oItem = form.Items.Item("28")
                    oMatrix = oItem.Specific
                    Dim chooseObj As ChooseListClass
                    chooseObj = New ChooseListClass
                    chooseObj.AddChooseFromListBinCode(form.UniqueID)
                    oColumns = oMatrix.Columns
                    oColumn = oColumns.Add("BINCODE", BoFormItemTypes.it_EDIT)
                    oColumn.Width = 100
                    oColumn.DataBind.SetBound(True, "OITW", "U_BINCODE")
                    oColumn.TitleObject.Caption = "Def BinCode"
                    oColumn.Editable = True
                    oColumn.ChooseFromListUID = "CFL5"
                    oColumn.ChooseFromListAlias = "U_BinCode"
                    oColumn = oColumns.Item("U_BINCODE")
                    oColumn.Visible = False
                End If
    please give your suggestion

    my code is given below
    form = B1Connections.theAppl.Forms.GetForm(150, pVal.FormTypeCount)
                    form.PaneLevel = 3
                    oItem = form.Items.Item("28")
                    oMatrix = oItem.Specific
                    MsgBox(oMatrix.RowCount)
                    oMatrix.DeleteRow(1)
                    Dim chooseObj As ChooseListClass
                    chooseObj = New ChooseListClass
                    chooseObj.AddChooseFromListBinCode(form.UniqueID)
                    oColumns = oMatrix.Columns
                    oColumn = oColumns.Add("BINCODE", BoFormItemTypes.it_EDIT)
                    oColumn.Width = 100
                    oColumn.DataBind.SetBound(True, "OITW", "U_BINCODE")
                    oColumn.TitleObject.Caption = "Def BinCode"
                    oColumn.Editable = True
                    oColumn.ChooseFromListUID = "CFL5"
                    oColumn.ChooseFromListAlias = "U_BinCode"
                    oColumn = oColumns.Item("U_BINCODE")
                    oColumn.Visible = False

  • Problem creating new sites. The formula refers to a column that does not exist

    Good morning,
    I have a problem creating new sites in my development environment. We have a template which works properly when we create new sites with it. However, when we add one new content type in the site created and save it as a new template, we can't create new sites
    with this template. The error log is that there are one problem in one column [The formula refers to a column that does not exist.  Check the formula for spelling mistakes or change the non-existing column to an existing column].
    I have opened the wsp template with visual studio but I can´t discover what column is the problem because the log only refers to the feature (ListInstances).
    Anybody knows how to find my problematic column?

    Thanks in advance

    Hi Enrique,
    According to your description, after added a content type into the new site and save the site as a template, there is an issue when creating another new with the newly
    site template.
    Based on the error message “The formula refers to a column that does not exist…”, seems that it would be an issue of a Calculated column in the content type you added,
    please go through all the Calculated column in that content type to see if the formulas all work well.
    Feel free to reply if there any progress.
    Best regards,
    Patrick

  • Lookup additional column order in display form

      Hi.
      I added a column thanks to a lookup in a list. That column has been added at the last position in the display form. I would have liked to set it just after the main lookup field.
      How could I move up the additional field? Anyone can change fields order for all columns in the content type configuration... excepting for the additional columns!
      Thanks in advance for any information.
      Regards.
      Damien

    check this
    You need to change the position in default view. Go to your list -->click "Modify View" from ribbon-->Now select the position in "Columns" section and say OK.
    Column ordering option is for newform/editform pages but for display form you need to change position in view.

  • Primary key column in manual tabular form

    I am creating a manual tabular form and am unsure what to do for my primary key column. When I do this with the wizard, I'm allowed to specifiy a Primary Key Source Type and the Primary Key Source (my sequence). Is there a way to do this in a manual tabular form?
    I'm creating the column with the call 'wwv_flow_item.display_and_save(2,hours_id) hours_id' but when I edit the 'Tabular Form Element' section, I don't have the Primary Key fields anywhere to edit...only Reference Table Owner, Reference Table/Column Name. Where can I specify the sequence?
    Thanks,
    Janel

    In the process ApplyMRD, try specifying the 'Secondary Key Column' in the section 'Source: Multi Row Update and Delete' to the second key column in the tabular form.
    I haven't tested this with your situation, but worth a shot.

  • Update a single column in query only form

    Forms 9i, database 10g
    I am migrating the form from 6i to 9i. I have a form that is query only except for one field that can be updated. The main block1, based on a view, includes most of the person's personal data, none of which is updateable.. Another block2, based on a table, includes the 3 not-null colums that cannot be updated, and a remarks field, which can be updated. The block2 properties are set YES for insert, update, delete. The three non-updatable columns have properties set to NO for I,U and D, but the remarks column has I,U and D properties set to YES. When I enter data into the remarks field and press the Save on the Forms icon bar, I get error FRM-40508:unable to insert record and the ORA-00001:unique constraint. I don't should not be able insert and I don't want to, I just want to update one column.
    What am I not setting correctly in 9i? The same triggers and code works in 6i.
    Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.
    Vija

    No, there are no on-update triggers, but there are Post-Qry. I did run it in debug mode, but there is no good place to put a break point, since retrieval of the data works fine. Should I have key-commit trigger on the block to do the update?

  • Check all checkboxes in a column of a tabular form

    Hi,
    I think this can be useful for some people.. I have a tabular form with several columns containing checkboxes. I wanted to be able to check or uncheck a whole column. The problem is that I didn't find a function to do this. So I modified (and renamed) the $f_CheckFirstColumn(pNd) function.
    In "edit page > JavaScript Function and Global Variable Declaration", add this :
    function $f_CheckNthColumn(c,n){
         var e=$x_UpTill(c,"TABLE");
         for(var d=0,a=e.rows.length;d<a;d++){
              var b=$x_FormItems(e.rows[d],"CHECKBOX")[n];
              if(b){
                   if(b.checked != c.checked) {
                        b.click();
         return;
    }EDIT : The status of the checkboxes checked with the function below is not passed when submitting the form (it is passed when clicking on every checkbox). This is why I had to use the click() function (so that onClick is triggered).
    --function $f_CheckNthColumn(c,n){
         var e=$x_UpTill(c,"TABLE");
         var f=[];
         for(var d=0,a=e.rows.length;d<a;d++){
              var b=$x_FormItems(e.rows[d],"CHECKBOX")[n];
              if(b){
                   f[f.length]=b;
         $f_CheckAll(false,c.checked,f);
         return f;
    And in the report column header :
    <input type="checkbox" onClick="$f_CheckNthColumn(this, NUMBER);" />NUMBER being the column number (1st column containing checkboxes = 0, 2nd column containing checkboxes = 1, etc.)
    I'm using APEX 4.1.1.00.23, so I can not guarantee It'll work on other versions.
    Hope this can help !

    Glad it helped :)
    If you have only one checkbox that is conditional, you could change the $f_CheckNthColumn function by adding this kind of condition :
    if ($x_FormItems(e.rows[d],"CHECKBOX").length == max_number_of_checkboxes || n < position_of_conditional_checkbox) toggle checkbox(n); // all the checkboxes are displayed, or the nth checkbox is before the conditional checkbox
    else // one (or more?) checkbox is missing
      if (n == position_of_conditional_checkbox) do nothing;
      else toggle checkbox(n-1);

  • Re-enable column values in tabular form before submit

    Hi,
    I am using Apex 4.1. I have a tabular form. I created a dynamic action to disable some of the columns on page load.
    It works fine and I am able to add new rows. But when I click submit, all the column values are null and it is throwing validation error.
    I need to enable all the columns before submit. I invoked a javascript to enable all the fields, but still i get the validation error.
    I also tried creating dynamic action to enable the values but still I get the validation error becuase the values are all null.
    Please help me to resolve this issue.
    Thanks
    SR

    Per HTML standards, disabled items are not submitted. Therefore if they are disabled at the point of submit, their corresponding session state values will be null (as you discovered). Apex validates against what is is session state, not against what is on your screen, so since the values didn't get submitted (per standards for HTML disabled items) that's why Apex thinks they are null.
    Before submit, re-enable the items/columns and it should work fine.
    Edit: Sorry, looks like you are doing this already. But are you doing it in the right order?
    How I have done it is:
    1. Change the save/apply changes button (whatever is doing the submit) to call a URL.
    2. Make the URL call javascript, such as:
    javascript:formSave('SAVE');
    3. Put a javascript function on your region or page (hypothetical example):
    <script type="text/javascript">
    function formSave(pRequest)
    { //Put all checking and processing prior to form save here.
      var vRequest="SAVE"; //default value taken from orig. "apply changes" button
      if(pRequest)
        vRequest=pRequest;
      enableAllCells(gMaintActionCol); //Put whatever code you have to re-enable your tabular form items here, must fire before apex.submit.
      //Do the save
      apex.submit(vRequest);
    </script>Edited by: gti_matt on Dec 1, 2011 3:04 PM

  • How to find the ID of the text item of the column in an tabular form

    Hello,
    I have created a tabular form report on emp table and made ONE OF THE COLUMN department_id as an text item using APEX_ITEM.TEXT APIs.
    My select query is
    select
    "EMPLOYEE_ID",
    "EMPLOYEE_ID" EMPLOYEE_ID_DISPLAY,
    "FIRST_NAME",
    "LAST_NAME",
    "HIRE_DATE",
    "JOB_ID",
    "SALARY",
    "MANAGER_ID",
    APEX_ITEM.TEXT(3,department_id,20,50,'readonly=true') department_id
    from "#OWNER#"."OEHR_EMPLOYEES"
    now how can i find the item ID?
    one more thing is that how would i reference this item in an javascript function.
    anyone plz help me out with this.
    thanks.

    Hi,
    Firstly, your link must include "this" to ensure that any javascript knows which link has been clicked. So, change:
    onclick="javascript:report();"to
    onclick="javascript:report(this);"Next, your javascript code must take this value and find the related DEPTNO item on the same row. The URL must pass to the popup page the name of the ID that needs to be updated - this is held in the f10 variable in the following script. This means that you popup page must be able to receive this value so that it can use it to update the DEPTNO item when a value is selected. Your popup page seems to be page number 4, so I will assume that you have a P4_ITEM_ID hidden item on that page for this purpose. So, the javascript on the main page would be something like:
    function report(x)
    var f10;
    var p = x.parentNode;
    while (p.tagName != "TR")
      p = p.parentNode;
    var inputs = p.getElementsByTagName("INPUT");
    var zz;
    for (zz = 0; zz < inputs.length; zz++)
      if (inputs[zz].name = 'f10')
       f01 = inputs[zz].id;
    var url;
    url = 'f?p=&APP_ID.:4:&APP_SESSION.::::P4_ITEM_ID:' + f10;
    var w = open(url,"winLov","Scrollbars=1,resizable=1,width=450,height=600");
    if (w.opener == null)
       w.opener = self;
    w.focus();
    }So, when the user clicks a link, the report() function is called and the object clicked is passed as a parameter. The script then starts from this object and goes up to the TR tag that the link is on. From here, it finds all INPUT items and then looks at those to find one that has a name attribute of "f10". When it finds it, it stores the ID of that in the "f10" variable. It then constructs a URL using this variable which is set into the P4_ITEM_ID hidden item on the popup page.
    I don't know what your javascript is on the popup, but it would need to get the value out of P4_ITEM_ID to see which main page item needs updating. This could be something like:
    function passBack(val)
      var id = $v('P4_ITEM_ID');
      opener.document.getElementById(id).value = val;
      window.close();
    }This script looks in the P4_ITEM_ID hidden item and gets its value - this will be the ID of the item to update on the main page. It then does the update and closes the popup.

  • Preview does not sum column data in PDF forms

    Preview is way better than Acrobat for most purposes, but it has some basic limitations that just make it hard to use. for example I have to use this form that asks you to enter $ in a table, however Preview does not sum the column, it just puts a "0" in. Why doesn't Preview add? Plus, this default behaviour makes it harder to paste in my own number as there is a zero in the way. At least it would be nice if it could just remove the 0 and leave me with an editble section. Is this just the product of a badly created PDF form or, as I suspect, a limitation of Preview?

    I'm having the exact problem. I have a fillable PDF form that has many checkboxes. Saving the pdf (doesn't matter whether it's 'Save', 'Save All', or 'Save As' under the File menu) will clear/reset the checkboxes in the file.
    Anyone know of a workaround for this? Or, is Apple fixing this soon? I really don't want to get Acrobat Pro 9 (well, I don't think it's compatible with Snow Leopard yet anyway)
    If you'd like a sample PDF file to try it out, let me know.
    Thanks.

  • Update all rows in a View Column via one Apex Form field

    Appreciate any helpful answers to this query.
    I have an Apex App (4.x) where I have a view: PRICE_MODEL_CRA_V
    In the view, I have the following applicable columns:
    COUNTRY
    GRADE
    SALARY
    In the form I have the following fields
    :P16_COUNTRY (DROPDOWN)
    :P16_GRADE (DROPDOWN)
    :P16_SALARY (Number)
    In my app, I have a form with an Update button. I am simply trying to get Apex to update all rows in the salaray column in the view, where the country and grade match.
    I've the following code for the Update button:
    UPDATE PRICE_MODEL_CRA_V
    SET SALARY = :P16_SALARY
    WHERE COUNTRY = :P16_COUNTRY
    AND GRADE = :P16_GRADE
    The option I have chosen in condition type is:
    Value of Item / Column expression is NOT Null (as there are values in the column)
    Also tried SQL Expression and it does not like..says that there is No Expression.
    Thanks again if anyone can help :)

    Hi,
    Sorry I realize now that piece of information was not well supported.
    If I choose SQL Expression for Condition Type in my Form Page and I try to Apply Changes
    Apex says this..
    •Failed to parse SQL query!
    ORA-00936: missing expression
    I was assuming that I need to have the colon for the items in the form where I am wanting Apex to grab the values entered by the user. I tried them without the colons with the SQL Expression condition and same result.
    UPDATE PRICE_MODEL_CRA_V
    SET SALARY = P16_SALARY
    WHERE COUNTRY = P16_COUNTRY
    AND GRADE = P16_GRADE
    I did put 1-1/0 in my expression field and applied changes and then tried ot submit the form and it does not produce an error, so perhaps it is not being called? Where would I start with troubleshooting that?
    Thanks,
