Reg: java.lang.outOfMemoryError in Console alone

Dear All,
I was getting the trace, java.lang.outOfMemoryError. Even i have incresed the heap size of the JVM as
java -Xrs -Xms1024m -Xmx1024m ReportServer
But getting java.lang.outOfMemoryError in the command prompt.
But it is not caught in the catch block of my application.
HTML <-> Java Class <-> ReportServer Class <->DB
Even that error message in not caught in the catch block of ReportServer Class.
Please suggest me how can i trap that error message to the end user in the front end.

The exception will throw a null value, if thrown in the following catch, we can throw a new user exception instead..
catch(java.lang.OutOfMemoryError e)
               System.out.println("Inside OutOfMemoryError");
               try {
                    throw new UserException("System Exception OutOfMemoryError");//UserException extends Exception
               } catch (UserException e1) {
                    System.out.println("USER EXCEPTION MESSAGE: " + e1.getErrormessage());
                    throw e1;
          }
