Reg:restart the completed task in human workflow

Dear team,
We are working on Oracle soa10g.We have a requiremnt on human tasks. once the task is approved/rejected in bpm worklist, immediately we need to get the task payload and status from BPMworklist and insert in DB. Using human workflow java api we are doing the same.
The process was working fine.. but when DB is down, and once task is approved/rejected in BPM worklist, we are unable to insert the updated data in DB.
There is inconsistency in status in DB and BPM worklist. So we thought of changing the status of human work task to "ASSIGNED" from "COMPLETED" thru workflow apis.
We came to know once task staus is "completed". we cannot set the same task status to "ASSIGNED" once again.
Please suggest alternate solution.
Thanks

    Thanks & Regards,

    1. Goto Txn SWPR
    2. Just execute the txn , It will display you the list of workitem IDs which are in t he error state.
    3. Or if at all you know the parent workitem ID ( TOP ) then jus specify the workitem ID and execute.
    4. Now select the workitem ID and clcik on the button Restart Workflow which is present on the application tool bar.
    5. If the restarting failed due any of the reasons then it will show you the execptions.

  • Can Lightning pin a completed task to the day completed on the calendar so it always shows up if I click on the day?

This may be already doable, but I don't know how. It would be convenient to show completed tasks pinned to the calendar day completed. I know that if you switch to the task mode, the completed tasks and the date completed is displayed, but it would enhance the operation, if these completed tasks were displayed in the task panel whenever I highlighted the completion date on the calendar when in the calendar mode.

    Hi Big_T,
I am not sure, this is what I found about how to use Lightning [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/lightning-user-interface] and it sounds like you could add more to that article. If you would like please add to the article what you find, because I am sure others would love to know how to do this too!
    Actually you can do this!
    # Go to View
    # Go to Calender
    # then go to Current View
    # Tasks in View and select show completed Tasks
I knew it was there somewhere.

  • Unable to perform the request error while selecting completed tasks in UWL

    Hi,
When user is selecting the Completed Task in the UWL, the below error is displaying
error: Unable to perform the request. Try again and if the problem persists, inform your system administrator.
While selecting completed tasks in the drop down, it is showing "Completed Tasks(30)". But after selecting "Completed Tasks(30)" from the drop down, the above error message is getting.
    How can we resolve this??
Note: We are using EP 7.0 SP 17. When I checked in sdn, I found that there is a problem with completed tasks earlier to sp14. But in SP14, this issue was fixed. But why we are facing this issue?
    Thanks,

  • Completed Task cannot be launched again from the UWL.

    Here is the situation.
The identified agent clicked the task in the UWL.
Task was launched in a new window and opened an ABAP webdynpro application correctly.
Agent then approved the task using the approve button in the application. Task was thus completed.
Now the agent pulled the "Completed Tasks" from the Show dropdown on the Tasks tab in the UWL.
The task which the agent approved earlier showed up.
But when the agent clicked this link in the UWL. The application would not be launched again.
The task preview does appear but the agent wants to the same application form displayed again to confirm what they have approved.
Any ideas how this can be done. I remember we could do that in the PCR application on ISR framework.

I did some investgation and figured out that there is no standard way to invoke an already completed Task. Therefore for our requirement I have proposed a new solution.
I am storing the Workitem Id, when the task gets created, in a custom table along with all the data which is necessary for the I-View display.
To enable users to open the I-View of the task they already completed and take a print out of the I-View etc, I have designed another application. and in this application I am using the Workitem Id to read which completed task they want to view.
See if this works for you.

  • 'completing task' accounts for 90% of the time

I'm running some mappings and they are taking a huge amount of time to complete in OWB. I noted that the execution window is spending most of the time in the 'completing task' state. So I checked and all the rows have been inserted correctly into the target table. I'm talking a couple of seconds to insert the rows and 1+ hours for the task to actually finish within OWB.
Can anybody tell me what's going on here and what I can do, if anything, to make the task 'complete' more quickly?
    Thanks
    Brian

    Actually, you could try following:
    -     Open WF Monitor, connect to DB via sqlplus or other tool to prepare to run process.
    -     Start mapping execution, verify your session is waiting “queue message”
    -     Wait process to complete, verify it by WF Monitor
    -     Check wait state of session – if it still in “queue message”, it waits completion report from runtime platform.
Our current configuration is: OWB 9.2.0.4 + DB 9.2.0.7.
We have faced similar issues with OWF (don’t know your environment, but in ours OWF work under heavy load with concurrent executions of different types of processes) – session could wait indefinitely long for process to “complete” while process had finished long time ago.
Unfortunately, this is not the only implication of the issue. Once you could notice that your processes simply hang in active state. Activities within process are notified, but not started.
We took two steps independently and now our situation with OWB/OWF is much better:
    - First. In the runtime schema of OWB there are a lot of foreign keys without indexes on “child” side – we created indexes, rebuild them, “alter move” all tables etc. This came from the recent investigation in this forum about performance of OWB while purging the logs. I suppose the issues that raised in that discussion have their implications on environment with concurrent process executions also.
    - Second. I applied 9.2.0.7 Patch Set (plus one one-off-patch) on DB – this make OWF behavior to improve dramatically. No “notified-but-not-started” activities, or “indefinite-waiting-for-process-completion” sessions noted since New Year. Previously we have to fight these issues every day and even worse.
    Serhit.

  • Human Workflow Configuring, Testing

    Hi
I am working on soa project to implement human workflow implementation like sms, voice additional to email service. Can any one guide me to the simulator to be used and configuration to be set.

This is strange behavior. R&D time
    1) Are you getting any clue from the logs ? Is it a one-off issue or it is happening for all the tasks.
    2) Are you on the cluster ? Have you restarted your server during the task durations.
    3) Once the workflow is completed, then it remains completed or the workflow execution is again restarting ?
    4) If this is happening for all the tasks, you may like to look at wftasktimer table in orabpel schema if reminder entry for the completed task is still there or not.
If this a production issue, I suggest you raise a ticket in metalink with Oracle Support.

  • Configure DB connections used by Human workflow

    Hi All
We are using Oracle BPEL for orchestrating a process flow; the BPEL process uses Human workflow service for assigning tasks to users and Java client code(SOAP client) is used to update tasks assigned to users.(we are not using Worklist application). The users are updating the tasks using the java client code and this is a continuos process.i.e. users work continuosly in shifts.
The workflow service seems to utilize lot of DB resources as 50-60 users are working continuously at the same time... Though we can configured the DB parameters/connection pool we are having some performance issues..
Just wondering if we can have a seperate connection pool/data source for Human workflow service?? Then orabpel application and workflow service can use seperate pools and the load can be reduced..
Any documentation/pointers on this will be of great help on this...
    Thanks

You can / should have your HW app in a different, database, at least schema. Then it is just a matter of setting up a differnt connection pool for the HW app.
There is also noting stopping you from having 2 different connection pools pointing to the same oracle schema. One for HW and one for bpel. They can be tuned accordingly.
    cheers
