Regarding ALV Functions

Hi,
    How i have to use the following function in ALV report.
     1. REUSE_ALV_VARIANT_DEFAULT_GET
     2. REUSE_ALV_VARIANT_F4
     3. REUSE_ALV_VARIANT_EXISTENCE
     4. REUSE_ALV_EVENTS_GET
     5. REUSE_ALV_POPUP_TO_SELECT
If any body help me i am very thankful to you people.
Regards,
Raghu.

You should look at the BCALV examples for these functions in your system. You can even do a where used list and find out how exactly are these functions used.
First 3 functions deal with the layout varaints that the user can store for the report.
4th one will return all the events associated with a ALV.
Last one, will show the data as a pop up ALV grid from which user can select the data.

Ravi

  • Regarding ALV Function modules

    Hi,
           Can you please explain what is the difference betweeen slis_fieldcat_alv and slis_t_fieldcat_alv?
    thnx

    Hi
    ABAP List Viewer
    The common features of report are column alignment, sorting, filtering, subtotals, totals etc. To implement these, a lot of coding and logic is to be put. To avoid that we can use a concept called ABAP List Viewer (ALV).
    This helps us to implement all the features mentioned very effectively.
    Using ALV, We can have three types of reports:
    1. Simple Report
    2. Block Report
    3. Hierarchical Sequential Report
    There are some function modules which will enable to produce the above reports without much effort.
    All the definitions of internal tables, structures and constants are declared in a type-pool called SLIS.
    1. SIMPLE REPORT.
    The important function modules are
    a. Reuse_alv_list_display
    b. Reuse_alv_fieldcatalog_merge
    c. Reuse_alv_events_get
    d. Reuse_alv_commentary_write
    e. Reuse_alv_grid_display
    A. REUSE_ALV_LIST_DISPLAY : This is the function module which prints the data.
    The important parameters are :
    I. Export :
    i. I_callback_program : report id
    ii. I_callback_pf_status_set : routine where a user can set his own pf status or change the functionality of the existing pf status
    iii. I_callback_user_command : routine where the function codes are handled
    iv. I_structure name : name of the dictionary table
    v. Is_layout : structure to set the layout of the report
    vi. It_fieldcat : internal table with the list of all fields and their attributes which are to be printed (this table can be populated automatically by the function module REUSE_ALV_FIELDCATALOG_MERGE
    vii. It_events : internal table with a list of all possible events of ALV and their corresponding form names.
    II. Tables :
    i. t_outtab : internal table with the data to be output
    B. REUSE_ALV_FIELDCATALOG_MERGE : This function module is used to populate a fieldcatalog which is essential to display the data in ALV. If the output data is from a single dictionary table and all the columns are selected, then we need not exclusively create the field catalog. Its enough to mention the table name as a parameter(I_structure name) in the REUSE_ALV_LIST_DISPLAY. But in other cases we need to create it.
    The Important Parameters are :
    I. Export :
    i. I_program_name : report id
    ii. I_internal_tabname : the internal output table
    iii. I_inclname : include or the report name where all the dynamic forms are handled.
    II Changing
    ct_fieldcat : an internal table with the type SLIS_T_FIELDCAT_ALV which is
    declared in the type pool SLIS.
    C. REUSE_ALV_EVENTS_GET : Returns table of possible events for a list type
    Parameters :
    I. Import :
    Et_Events : The event table is returned with all possible CALLBACK events
    for the specified list type (column 'NAME'). For events to be processed by Callback, their 'FORM' field must be filled. If the field is initialized, the event is ignored. The entry can be read from the event table, the field 'FORM' filled and the entry modified using constants from the type pool SALV.
    II. Export :
    I_List_type :
    0 = simple list REUSE_ALV_LIST_DISPLAY
    1 = hierarchcal-sequential list REUSE_ALV_HIERSEQ_LIST_DISPLAY
    2 = simple block list REUSE_ALV_BLOCK_LIST_APPEND
    3 = hierarchical-sequential block list
    REUSE_ALV_BLOCK_LIST_HS_APPEND
    D. REUSE_ALV_COMMENTARY_WRITE : This is used in the Top-of-page event to print the headings and other comments for the list.
    Parameters :
    I. it_list_commentary : internal table with the headings of the type slis_t_listheader.
    This internal table has three fields :
    Typ : ‘H’ – header, ‘S’ – selection , ‘A’ - action
    Key : only when typ is ‘S’.
    Info : the text to be printed
    E. REUSE_ALV_GRID_DISPLAY : A new function in 4.6 version, to display the results in grid rather than as a preview.
    Parameters : same as reuse_alv_list_display
    This is an example for simple list.
    2. BLOCK REPORT
    This is used to have multiple lists continuously.
    The important functions used in this report are:
    A. REUSE_ALV_BLOCK_LIST_INIT
    B. REUSE_ALV_BLOCK_LIST_APPEND
    C. REUSE_ALV_BLOCK_LIST_HS_APPEND
    D. REUSE_ALV_BLOCK_LIST_DISPLAY
    A. REUSE_ALV_BLOCK_LIST_INIT
    Parameters:
    I. I_CALLBACK_PROGRAM
    II. I_CALLBACK_PF_STATUS_SET
    III. I_CALLBACK_USER_COMMAND
    This function module is used to set the default gui status etc.
    B. REUSE_ALV_BLOCK_LIST_APPEND
    Parameters :
    Export :
    I. is_layout : layout settings for block
    II. it_fieldcat : field catalog
    III. i_tabname : internal table name with output data
    IV. it_events : internal table with all possible events
    Tables :
    i. t_outtab : internal table with output data.
    This function module adds the data to the block.
    Repeat this function for all the different blocks to be displayed one after the other.
    C. REUSE_ALV_BLOCK_LIST_HS_APPEND
    This function module is used for hierarchical sequential blocks.
    D. REUSE_ALV_BLOCK_LIST_DISPLAY
    Parameters : All the parameters are optional.
    This function module display the list with data appended by the above function.
    Here the functions REUSE_ALV_FIELDCATALOG_MERGE, REUSE_ALV_EVENTS_GET, REUSE_ALV_COMMENTARY_WRITE can be used.
    3. Hierarchical reports :
    Hierarchical sequential list output.
    The function module is
    A. REUSE_ALV_HIERSEQ_LIST_DISPLAY
    Parameters:
    I. Export:
    i. I_CALLBACK_PROGRAM
    ii. I_CALLBACK_PF_STATUS_SET
    iii. I_CALLBACK_USER_COMMAND
    iv. IS_LAYOUT
    v. IT_FIELDCAT
    vi. IT_EVENTS
    vii. i_tabname_header : Name of the internal table in the program containing the
    output data of the highest hierarchy level.
    viii. i_tabname_item : Name of the internal table in the program containing the
    output data of the lowest hierarchy level.
    ix. is_keyinfo : This structure contains the header and item table field
    names which link the two tables (shared key).
    II. Tables
    i. t_outtab_header : Header table with data to be output
    ii. t_outtab_item : Name of the internal table in the program containing the
    output data of the lowest hierarchy level.
    slis_t_fieldcat_alv : This internal table contains the field attributes. This internal table can be populated automatically by using ‘REUSE_ALV_FIELDCATALOG_MERGE’.
    Important Attributes :
    A. col_pos : position of the column
    B. fieldname : internal fieldname
    C. tabname : internal table name
    D. ref_fieldname : fieldname (dictionary)
    E. ref_tabname : table (dictionary)
    F. key(1) : column with key-color
    G. icon(1) : icon

  • Regarding alv function of summing up the values of  columns.

    hi friends:
       could you please tell me how to sum up the values of  columns.
    for example, there are columns of room rent, expense of cell phone call,
    expense of taxi fee.
    thank you very much

    hi For calculating one more coloum . try this logic
    write this piece of code in wddoinit
    data : lt_column type salv_wd_t_column_ref,
             ls_column type salv_wd_s_column_ref,
             lo_aggr_rule TYPE REF TO cl_salv_wd_aggr_rule.
    * display columns in correct order
      lr_column_settings ?= wd_this->lr_config.
      lt_column = lr_column_settings->get_columns( ).
    loop at lt_column into ls_column.
        case ls_column-id.
          when 'ROOM_RENT'.
    * aggregate field
            call method lr_config->if_salv_wd_field_settings~get_field
              exporting
                fieldname = 'ROOM_RENT'
              receiving
                value     = lr_room_rent_total.
    * create aggregate rule as total
            call method lr_field_amnt->if_salv_wd_aggr~create_aggr_rule
              exporting
                aggregation_type = if_salv_wd_c_aggregation=>aggrtype_total
              receiving
                value            = lv_aggr_rule.
          when 'CALL'.
    * aggregate field
            call method lr_config->if_salv_wd_field_settings~get_field
              exporting
                fieldname = 'CALL'
              receiving
                value     = lr_call_AVG.
    * create aggregate rule as total
            call method lr_field_amnt->if_salv_wd_aggr~create_aggr_rule
              exporting
                aggregation_type = if_salv_wd_c_aggregation=>AGGRTYPE_AVERAGE
              receiving
                value            = lv_aggr_rule.
        endcase.
    endloop.

  • Regarding ALV standarad sort functionality

    Hi All,
    We are developing the webdynpro ABAP application using ALV functionality which will display the data. Here as per the SAP standard functionality if we click on sort option if there are same values for multiple records in a single column then it will show only once by grouping all the rows.
    Is there any way to avoid that functionality and if the same value is there in multiple rows also for a perticular column it should display in all the rows.
    Coould some body help me on this perticular scenario.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Sreelatha Gullapalli.

    Hi,
    The following documents are good to have for reference with respect to ALV. Sorting is well explained.
    Some good links for ALV

    This is an 7.02 document but it is still valid for 7.01 in many functions.

  • ALV functionality in Visual Composer 7.0

    Hi colleagues,
    I have easy question, is anybody know have Visual Composer 7.0 ALV functionality or no? If it have, is it concerning to BI models only, or it can be concerning to any models in Visual Composer 7.0?
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards
    Dmitriy

    Right, Visual Composer doesn't have an ALV functionallity...
    I wonder if it can be developed using the new  [Flash Components|NEW: Flash Component Consumption in Visual Composer 7.01 SP5; feature for Visual Composer 7.0

  • Regarding ALV variant...

    Hi...
    How to use variants in ALV?
    Please tell me step by step,how to implent variants in ALV?
    Regards
    Sandeep.

    hi sandeep,
    Variants are used to save the data and retrieve the same when required. This is an option used in ALV.
    SAP provides standard interfaces for initializing and retrieving the display variant information. This includes three function modules and four subroutines.
    1. REUSE_ALV_VARIANT_DEFAULT_GET.
    This FM is used to get the default variant for the report if it has been set.
    EXPORTING
    I_SAVE : Controls the storage mode. Allowed values are :
    ‘A‘ : Standard and user specific variants
    ‘U’ : User specific variants
    ‘X’ : Standard Variants
    CHANGING
    CS_VARIANT : Gets the default variant in a structure like DISVARIANT.
    2. REUSE_ALV_VARIANT_F4
    This FM is used to get the possible values of the variants on the selection screen.
    EXPORTING
    IS_VARIANT : Structure of this parameter is like DISVARIANT. Pass the program name through this.
    I_SAVE : Controls type of variant to be displayed in value help. Allowed values are
    ‘A‘ Standard and user specific variants
    ‘U’ User specific variants
    ‘X’ Standard Variants
    IMPORTING
    E_EXIT : If this parameter is blank then user has selected some variant.
    ES_VARIANT :
    Selected variant is populated in this work area. It’s of structure like DISVARIANT.
    3.REUSE_ALV_VARIANT_EXISTENCE
    This FM is used to check existence of a
    display variant.
    EXPORTING
    I_SAVE : Type of variant. Allowed values are
    ‘A‘ Standard and user specific variants
    ‘U’ User specific variants
    ‘X’ Standard Variants
    CHANGING
    CS_VARIANT : Pass on variant details. The structure of this field is like DISVARIANT.
     DATA AREAS TO BE DECLARED FOR VARIANTS :
    Data, which will be, used by the standard function modules in ALV for variants. A sample data deceleration is as mentioned below.
    DATA: WS_X_VARIANT LIKE DISVARIANT,
    WS_VARIANT LIKE DISVARIANT,
    WS_SAVE TYPE C,
    WS_EXIT TYPE C,
    WS_REPID LIKE SY-REPID.
    REUSE_ALV_VARIANT_DEFAULT_GET
    Text
    Read default layout (description only, w/o field catalog)
    Functionality
    Provides the default variant for the list specified in the structure
    parameter CS_VARIANT of a program.
    REUSE_ALV_VARIANT_F4
    Text
    Display variant selection dialog box
    Functionality
    Possible entries help, if the variant is defined explicitly as an input
    field on a screen. The selection must be specified by at least partially
    filling the parameter structure IS_VARIANT.
    REUSE_ALV_VARIANT_EXISTENCE
    Text
    Checks whether a display variant exists
    CS_VARIENTS holds the information about varients like:
    ABAP Program Name
    Mgt. ID for repeated calls from the same program
    Logical group name
    User name for user-specific storage
    Layout
    Description for layout
    Dependent variant entry vector
    Functionality
    This function module checks the existence in the database of a display
    variant passed in the interface.
    check this example in the below link

  • ALV Functionality in WD Java Tables

    Hi experts,
    I need to include standard ALV functionality on a table in WD Java. I have to be able to change and save layouts, Sort, Filter table, calculate totals on integer columns etc.
    Is there any standard method to do so?
    Any help or suggestions on how do I go about doing this?

  • ALV function module

    Do we have any ALV function module to store ALV output to SPOOL  when executed in foreground mode.
    Storing ALV output should be done programatically not manually.
    <b>My requirement:</b> User should able to extract ALV output which was created 2 to 5 days back.So that user can compare old output(2 to 5 days back) with the current output
    Regards,
    Prabhakar

    Thanks,
    But how can we get the spool no for my program.
    As per my knowledge, when i run the program in background the system is generates the spool no. based on this we can go for SP01 transaction and move forward.
    But i want the ALV output stores in spool in foreground.
    Please let me know.

    Prabhakar

  • How can I position self-define ALV function like standard function "SETTIN"

    Hi,
    I want to put a self-difine ALV function with name "Refresh" to the very right side, just one position left as the "Filter" function. During the method get_position I got that, the position of function "Filter" and "Setting" is 901.902. But When I set_position for "Refresh" as 900 or 903. It doesn't work. Does anyone have experience with the same scenario?
    Thanks a lot in advance
    Best regards,
    Wenwen

    if a is your array of movieclips and space is the white space between the end of one movieclip and the start of the next and leading is the space between adjacent lines and width is the max width of your lines and you want your movieclips to start at startX, startY, you can use the function below to arrange your movieclips:
    function arrangeMCF(a:Array,startX:uint,startY:uint,space:uint,leading:uint,width:uint){
    var curentX:Number=startX;
    var currentY:Number=startY;
    for(var i:uint=0;i<a.length;i++){
    if(a[i].width+currentX<width){
    a[i].x=currentX;
    a[i].y=currentY;
    currentX+=a[i].width+space;
    } else {
    currentX=startX;
    currentY+=leading;
    a[i].x=currentX;
    a[i].y=currentY;
    currentX+=a[i].width+space;

  • ALV FUNCTION MODLE FOR GETTING DATA IN EXCEL SHEET

    HI ,
    CAN I HAVE ALV FUNCTION MODLE FOR GETTING DATA IN EXCEL SHEET
    Regards,
    Aruna

    Standard ALV grid uses the FM <b>ALV_XXL_CALL</b> for exporting data into Excel. You can put a break-point in the FM and check it for urself.
    for ur info - the above FM takes the internal table name, internal table content and the field catalog as input.

  • A query regarding synchronised functions, using shared object

    Hi all.
    I have this little query, regarding the functions that are synchronised, based on accessing the lock to the object, which is being used for synchronizing.
    Ok, I will clear myself with the following example :
    class First
    int a;
    static int b;
    public void func_one()
    synchronized((Integer) a)
    { // function logic
    } // End of func_one
    public void func_two()
    synchronized((Integer) b)
    { / function logic
    } // End of func_two
    public static void func_three()
    synchronized((Integer) a)
    { // function logic
    } // End of func_three, WHICH IS ACTUALLY NOT ALLOWED,
    // just written here for completeness.
    public static void func_four()
    synchronized((Integer) b)
    { / function logic
    } // End of func_four
    First obj1 = new First();
    First obj2 = new First();
    Note that the four functions are different on the following criteria :
    a) Whether the function is static or non-static.
    b) Whether the object on which synchronization is based is a static, or a non-static member of the class.
    Now, first my-thoughts; kindly correct me if I am wrong :
    a) In case 1, we have a non-static function, synchronized on a non-static object. Thus, effectively, there is no-synchronisation, since in case obj1 and obj2 happen to call the func_one at the same time, obj1 will obtain lock for obj1.a; and obj2 will obtain lock to obj2.a; and both can go inside the supposed-to-be-synchronized-function-but-actually-is-not merrily.
    Kindly correct me I am wrong anywhere in the above.
    b) In case 2, we have a non-static function, synchronized on a static object. Here, again if obj1, and obj2 happen to call the function at the same time, obj1 will try to obtain lock for obj1.a; while obj2 will try to obtain lock for obj2.a. However, since obj1.a and obj2.a are the same, thus we will indeed obtain sychronisation.
    Kindly correct me I am wrong anywhere in the above.
    c) In case 3, we have a static function , synchronized on a non-static object. However, Java does not allow functions of this type, so we may safely move forward.
    d) In case 4, we have a static function, synchronized on a static object.
But we are only partly done for this case.
    First, Kindly correct me I am wrong anywhere in the above.
    Now, I have a query : what happens if the call is made in a classically static manner, i.e. using the statement "First.func_four;".
    Another query : so far we have been assuming that the only objects contending for the synchronized function are obj1, and obj2, in a single thread. Now, consider this, suppose we have the same reference obj1, in two threads, and the call "obj1.func_four;" happens to occur at the same time from each of these threads. Thus, we have obj1 rying to obtain lock for obj1.a; and again obj1 trying to obtain lock for obj1.a, which are the same locks. So, if obj1.a of the first thread obtains the lock, then it will enter the function no-doubt, but the call from the second thread will also succeed. Thus, effectively, our synchronisation is broken.
    Or am I being dumb ?
    Looking forward to replies..
    Ashutosh

    a) In case 1, we have a non-static function, synchronized on a non-static object. Thus, effectively, there is no-synchronisationThere is no synchronization between distinct First objects, but that's what you specified. Apart from the coding bug noted below, there would be synchronization between different threads using the same instance of First.
    b) In case 2, we have a non-static function, synchronized on a static object. Here, again if obj1, and obj2 happen to call the function at the same time, obj1 will try to obtain lock for obj1.a; while obj2 will try to obtain lock for obj2.a.obj1/2 don't call methods or try to obtain locks. The two different threads do that. And you mean First.b, not obj1.b and obj2.b, but see also below.
    d) In case 4, we have a static function, synchronized on a static object. Here, again if obj1, and obj2 happen to call the function at the same time, obj1 will try to obtain lock for obj1.a; while obj2 will try to obtain lock for obj2.a.Again, obj1/2 don't call methods or try to obtain locks. The two different threads do that. And again, you mean First.b. obj1.b and obj2.b are the same as First.b. Does that make it clearer?
    Now, I have a query : what happens if the call is made in a classically static manner, i.e. using the statement "First.func_four;".That's what happens in any case whether you write obj1.func_four(), obj2.func)four(), or First.func_four(). All these are identical when func_four(0 is static.
    Now, consider this, suppose we have the same reference obj1, in two threads, and the call "obj1.func_four;" happens to occur at the same time from each of these threads. Thus, we have obj1 rying to obtain lock for obj1.aNo we don't, we have a thread trying to obtain the lock on First.b.
    and again obj1 trying to obtain lock for obj1.aYou mean obj2 and First.b, but obj2 doesn't obtain the lock, the thread does.
    which are the same locks. So, if obj1.a of the first thread obtains the lock, then it will enter the function no-doubt, but the call from the second thread will also succeed.Of course it won't. Your reasoning here makes zero sense..Once First.b is locked it is locked. End of story.
    Thus, effectively, our synchronisation is broken.No it isn't. The second thread will wait on the same First.b object that the first thread has locked.
    However in any case you have a much bigger problem here. You're autoboxing your local 'int' variable to a possibly brand-new Integer object every call, so there may be no synchronization at all.
    You need:
    Object a = new Object();
    static Object b = new Object();

  • Help needed regarding ALV report

    Hi,
    I have a query regarding ALV report.
    The requirement is as follows:-
    When the user executes the ALV report and if he sums one numeric field column values and filters out some of the field columns ( for example there r 5 columns in the report and the user has filtered out 2 of them and viewing only 3 columns)
    and now the requirements is that when the user runs the report later he should see the modified report ( i mean only 3 cloumns and the total value of the column which he has made) but not the original output which was there when the report was developed.
    First of all i wanna know is it possible to do r not. If yes then how
    Hope u have got what i want.
    eagerly waiting for ur reply.
    regards,
    maqsood

    Hi
    Yes you can! You have to manage the layout variant.
    So when you call your ALV you have to set the parameter I_SAVE = 'A'.
    In this way you'll allow the user to save the variants for layout.
    After you has to have a chance to choose the variant in selection-screen.
    See the demo program BCALV_GRID_11 to manage the variant in selection-screen.
