Regarding customization of portal page

Hi
any body suggest me how to change look and feel of a particular page in the portal.
thanks
sekhar.

Hi Sekhar,
The look and feel of any portal page can be changed by the Portal Themes i.e at System Admin->Portal Display->Theme Editor, where all the exterior changes like colours, themes and images can be done.
Bt when u want to add any extra link, change the welcome message, or change the way ur portal page looks to end users,u need to change the com.sap.portals.navigation.masthead.par file available at
ROOT\portalapps. Create a project with the parfile in NWDS under Portal INF we hav 4 jsp files,
We have headeriview.jsp which is the file containing the functions for the portal login page.we also hav UMElogon.jsp page. Change the jsp code for editing your page. Adding a new link, popup come message.etc..
Now after editing the login page rename the par file with teh same name (com.sap.portal.navigation.masthead )from the Project we created at NWDS.
Go to System Admin->support ->Portal Runtime->Application Console->upload ur parfile and then the changes will be displayed at ur loginpage..
PS:test the code properly before uploading par file at PRT

  • Customize Portal Page

If I add a column to a page, then the two columns are even. How can I customize the left column to be only one half of the right column?

Each "column" on a portal page is basically a page region. What you'll need to do is to edit the properties of each page region.
To edit region properties, simply do the following:
    1) click on the "customize page" (or for Portal 3.0.9, "edit page") link for your portal page.
2)When the page layout appears, click on the little "pencil" icon within each columnar page region, and a popup window will appear.
    3) In the popup window, change the percentage of table width to say "25"% for the narrow column. Save your changes.
    4) For the wider columnar region, change the percentage to 75%, for example.
Be aware that due to the nature of HTML and HTML tables, these properties will work best when you have images and content that are small enough to resize down to your narrowest column width.
    Hope this helps.

  • Customize Error Message Page - Oracle Portal

    Hi,
Please how i can customize Error Message Page ? or just the page not found ?
    tks
    carlo

This is documented in the Portal admin guides.
Make a copy of the standard error page (in the navigator) then change the portal configuration (in builder) and tell it to use your own page.

  • How Do I customize the Portal Personalization?

    Hi,
    Version: EP6 SP2 Patch2 HF2.
I am trying to customize the Portal Personalization dialog available on the click of the "Personalize" link in the portal masthead.
    - I need to remove some of the links available in the Detailed Navigation like "Portal Theme", "User Mapping (Remote iViews)", etc.
    - Even if I remove the corresponding pages from the Portal Personalization workset, how do I revert back?
If anyone of you has any ideas about this, please guide me.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Sagar.

    Hi Moiz,
Edit the eu_role. There, under the Portal Personalization workset, remove the pages that you don't want, and test the desired display in a new session. That's it.

    Sagar

  • Portal Page

    1. There is minimum customization I can do with portal page by adding a HTML Portlet and writing my own html tags to the content area. I would like to know where the page resides, so I can access the source code and customize the whole page to my needs.

With the upcoming 3.0.8 release of Portal (shipped as part of 9iAS 1.0.2.1), we will be providing the new feature of "page templates" that will allow you to further customize not only the HTML body, but also the HTML header code of a portal page. It will work very much in the same way as page templates currently do within Portal Application components (charts, forms, reports, etc..)
The code (metadata, page tags, etc) for a portal page reside in the portal repository within the database. We provide many declarative facilities (portlets, page styles, page layouts, 3.0.8 page templates, etc..) and the PDK that will allow you to customize and tune your portal pages as you please.

  • How to change one iView to another in portal page by clicking the third one

    Hi all!
I have created four iViews: two speedometers with web application designer and two iViews with visual composer. I added the speedometers and a visual composer iView #1 to a portal page (default view). The requirement is that by clicking the speedometer #2, the visual composer iView #2 would replace visual composer iView #1 on the portal page. If the user then would select the speedometer #1 again by clicking it, visual composer iView #2 would replace #1 again and so on.
I have read article http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/50b65a5d-f397-2910-a78a-f5544f21c33b?QuickLink=index&overridelayout=true, but it is more about filtering VC iView values with BI web items. I don't need to filter anything, just to change one iView to another in a portal view by clicking a third one.
I have thought of placing two VC iView to a same portal page area and defining one of the to be visible and another hidden (by clicking speedometers these properties would change), but I haven't found the way how that could be done in portal. Is there a way to define some OnClick-method to change visibility parameters or url-address of another iView?
One solution might be¨on the other hand to transfer any value to VC by clicking a speedometer and to change the visibility of the VC iViews according to that value (the speedometer #1 should in that case transfer other value to VC than speedometer #2). I don't know if that is possible with speedometers - you can't reference any characteristics or variables with it.
If you have an idea, what would be the best way to accomplish this requirement, I would be very glad to hear about it! We are in VC 7.0.
    Points garanteed!
    Regards
    Sari

    Hi,
In the portal, create a page and place the iView having the three input fields on top. Place the second iView below. Keep differing the second iView for every page. In this way you can make the iView with 3 input fields only in the desired pages. You can use EPCF to invoke / navigate to another iView.

    Kalyani KothaKalyani,
Could you explain a little more exactly what you're trying to acheive? I'm not quite sure what it is you're asking for. Are you asking: "how would you/can you open a browser and direct it to a URL with PL/SQL?"

  • Opening a Portal page from UWL item's click

    Hi,
I have written a custom UWL connector that connects to 3rd party system to fetch tasks.
This custom connector has  been registered with UWL and tasks from this 3rd party system are now appearing in my UWL.
The requirement is to open a Portal page on click of these UWL items.
That is, when user clicks on this custom UWL item, a Portal page should be opened in new window.
I tried setting item's executionURL to following (inside getItems() method of connector) : -
    1. https://myportal.com/irj/portal?navigationtarget=roles://portal_content/com.mycompanyPurchaising/com.mycompany.Purchase_Request/com.mycompany.Roles/com.mycompany.purch_pr/com.mycompany.purch_pr/com.mycompany.purchaseRequest
    2. https://myportal.com/irj/portal?navigationtarget=roles://portal_content/com.mycompany.Purchaising/com.mycompany.Purchase_Request/com.mycompany.Roles/com.mycompany.purch_pr/com.mycompany.purch_pr/com.mycompany.purchaseRequest&target="_blank"
    3. Set Quick link property of corresponding page and then set executionURL as: -
    https://myportal.com/irj/portal/purchaserequest
    Issue being faced: -
When user clicks on this UWL item, it opens following URL which just displays blank portal page: -
    https://myportal.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prteventname/navigate/prtroot/pcd!3aportal_content!2fcom.mycompany.layout.PortalLayoutFolder!2fcom.mycompany.layout.DesktopFolder!2fmycompanyDesktop!2fframeworkPages!2fframeworkpage!2fcom.sap.portal.innerpage!2fcom.sap.portal.contentarea?NavigationTarget=ROLES%3A%2F%2Fportal_content%2Fcom.mycompany.Purchaising%2Fcom.mycompany.Purchase_Request%2Fcom.mycompany.iViews%2Fcom.mycompany.purchaseRequest&CurrentWindowId=WID1326775699455&NavMode=1
Any idea what is going wrong here?
I am not able to figure out what & from where its preparing above URL instead of opening the URL that I specified in Connector's executionURL attribute.
    Regards,
    Amey

Issue was with iView that I was trying to open in DEV portal.
It worked fine in TEST & PROD portals.
    Hence, NavigationTarget=<> approach works fine.

  • Background image in a portal page??

    Hi,
How can I set a background image or watermark in a portal page instead of the plain background that comes by default.
    Regards
    Sreeram

Ofcourse Chris, very true. I should have mentioned the workaround in the previous post itself. Infact the solution is based on your suggestion in the previous post.
Every community page that is generated by the portal has a <div> element with a unique id. The id of div element is made up of the following string "pt-portal-content-" followed by the object id of the community page (which is unique). This <div> element has the style portalContent set to it by default.
I knew the page I would want the background to be applied to. And I knew the portlets that would go only on this page. These portlets are content portlets created from the publisher.
So in the presentation template code for one of these portlets I included a javascript function and set the background property of the div element, conditionally checking the div element's id to make sure that it is the community page I wanted to modify. And this javascript function is registered to the onload event.

  • How do I customize the login page?

    Hi, floks:
How do I customize the login page?
Can I just create a page with login portlet in it? what do I put as on Success URL,
if I choose to go to the home page?
    thanks.
    null

You can create a page and add a login portlet to it.Make it accesible to public.
change the default page of the user "public" to the page you have created.(by default it is WELCOME)
if there is an error in the user name or the password entered the portal still navigates to the default single-sign on page.(You have not changed the sign on page still)
To change this page look at on-line help.
search with string "customize" in online help

  • How to apply different styles to Portlets on the same Portal page?

How do you apply different styles to Portlets on the same Portal page?
I'm new to this kind of thing, but understand that something called "cascading style sheets" can help here?
What are these, how do you use them, and can you make different Portlets (all types - PL/SQL, Java, Applications, etc) on the same Portal page have different styles assigned?
    Thanks!

    Jeff,
Apply Oracle Portal styles at the region level. Your portlets within each region will inherit the style defined for the region.
You may want to check out Report #40050 at portalcenter.oracle.com, "Design an Attractive and Compelling Portal Interface" for a good overview of the various design features of Oracle Portal.

  • Netscape 4.76 not will not display portal page

I understand from metalink document 136120.1 that no 4.7 Netscape browsers are supported.
I have a portal page that will not display for my 4.7x surfers.
Is this remedied by the latest patch? Will it be a problem in v2?
Is it clear that this basically keeps us from using portal for public sites?

    Hello,
maybe you could try to rename the user profile, so windows will generate a new profile, when this user logs on to his machine. afterwards you can copy the important data from the renames profile to the new profile. perhaps this eliminates the problem.
if you switch javascript off, you will also get just a small bar from the portal. maybe on this client something is installed, that switches javascipt off?
    best regards,
    Christian Schebsta
