Regarding Insert Report Statement

Hi All,
Can any one tell me how to use insert report statment..
what are the prerequisites to use it...
I am using this statement in a loop.
Lets take my loop consists of two iterations...
For the first iteration it is working fine...when the second iteration starts...the code in the first iteration
is replaced by the second one...and the second one is showing empty screen...

Actually my prog is downloading/uploading of function groups..
I downloaded the function group...
Am getting this error while Iam uploading the function modules source code in that function group...
For single function module it is working fine...
If have two function modules..it is not working...
The source code in the second function module is replacing the first one...and second one consists of nothing...

Inside an RFC I am calling a custom report which gives the output in the form of ALV grid. I have used SUBMIT (report) in the RFC for a given set of inputs.
it_sel is an internal table with the selection screen parameters and values.
This is my code.
SUBMIT zmmrep03_r3ent WITH SELECTION-TABLE it_sel
EXPORTING LIST TO MEMORY AND RETURN.
Doing so, I am encountering a problem. When I run the RFC in test frame I am viewing the output which should not happen since i am using <b>Exporting List to Memeory And Return</b>. After that I am getting a runtime exception <b>"NOT FOUND"</b>.
How to resolve this problem.

Arul,
1. ALV does not export the list to memory.
2. You cannot call a RFC that writes data to the screen.
You need to find a differen way of doing this in your case.

Insert report....Directory entry dir

Hi All,
I am using the statement INSERT REPORT ..... with the extension DIRECTORY ENTRY dir. This extension specifies the program attributes for the created or overwritten program according to the content of dir. But here the condition is that the dir should have the structure of TRDIR. According to my requirement I need the report title also...which will be available in TRDIRT. Then how can I retrieve the report tilte from the INSERT REPORT statement. Is thr any other way to do this? Please respond as soon as possible.

You can find the report titile in the table TRDIRT with the filed name TEXT
give the program name in field NAME.

SUBMIT REPORT statement issue in abap

Hi Experts,
I am facing issue while doing SUBMIT REPORT statement.
Below are the details for the Issue:
1. We want to execute another report ZTEST2 from one report , so we have written code in report ZTEST1 as below:
SUBMIT ZTEST2 AND RETURN.
2. It goes to ZTEST2 successfully but when we execute ZTEST2 and click on BACK buttton , it directly goes to ZTEST1 selection screen.
Instead we want to go ZTEST2 program's selection screen. As this back button is standard ALV button is there any way we can handle this without creating new PF-STATUS.

That's very limiting.
It depends, there are some things you can do if you ztest2 does something that is traceable.
Without any more info I suggest to check time-lapse between submit calls. If it's inferior to 2 seconds I'd suppose user want's to leave.
mind you the syntax is wrong:

if g_final - g_initial <= 2.

For the user is in most cases transparent, only if he remains a lot of time in selection screen he'll remain there.

Interactive Reports
As the name suggests, the user can Interact with the report. We can have a drill down into the report data. For example, Column one of the report displays the material numbers, and the user feels that he needs some more specific data about the vendor for that material, he can HIDE that data under those material numbers. And when the user clicks the material number, another report (actually sub report/secondary list) which displays the vendor details will be displayed.
We can have a basic list (number starts from 0) and 20 secondary lists (1 to 21). Events associated with Interactive Reports are: 1. AT LINE-SELECTION 2. AT USER-COMMAND 3. AT PF<key> 4. TOP-OF-PAGE DURING LINE-SELECTION. HIDE statement holds the data to be displayed in the secondary list. sy-lisel : contains data of the selected line. sy-lsind : contains the level of report (from 0 to 21)
Interactive Report Events:
AT LINE-SELECTION : This Event triggers when we double click a line on the list, when the event is triggered a new sublist is going to be generated. Under this event what ever the statements that are been return will be displayed on newly generated sublist.

When you run the program, the system displays the following basic list with a the page header defined in the program:
You can trigger the AT LINE-SELECTION event by double-clicking a line. The system sets the status TEST and deactivates the function code PICK. The status TEST contains function codes FC1 to FC5. These are assigned to pushbuttons in the application toolbar. The page header of the detail list depends on the status.
Here, double-clicking a line no longer triggers an event. However, there is now an application toolbar containing five user-defined pushbuttons. You can use these to trigger the AT USER-COMMAND event. The CASE statement contains a different reaction for each pushbutton.
For each interactive event, the system decreases the SY-LSIND system field by one, thus canceling out the automatic increase. All detail lists now have the same level as the basic list and thus overwrite it. While the detail list is being created, SY-LSIND still has the value 1.

Smart scan not working with Insert Select statements

We have observed that smart scan is not working with insert select statements but works when select statements are execute alone.
Can you please help us to explain this behavior?

There is a specific exadata forum - you would do better to post the question there: Exadata
I can't give you a definitive answer, but it's possible that this is simply a known limitation similar to the way that "Create table as select" won't run the select statement the same way as the basic select if it involves a distributed query.

i used Insert report option for HR Programs. what should i declare if i have to select my own selection screen (that we select through ( HR Report Category) ) .
I was able to change the basic attributes that we select through TRDIR..
but these options are available in t599c table how to link between trdir & t 599c

Sir i'm using daq6251.But Sir before implimenting it to my final application now i'm just trying to achieve 1millisecond time interval for timer in a vary simple programe i mean at this time no hardware (daq device) is involved i,m just trying to achieve minimum time interval of 1millisecond.
Sir i read form "help" of labwindows how this time interval can be set,i'm trying for,as described in help notes but i could'nt.I'm attaching a screen shot sir for you it may helpful for you to explain me.

I have a few questions regarding the "Get Reporting stats". The values like Exp waiting time, Avg hold duration, current wait time. Where can I find the formula for this? Will this parameter work if no agent is logged in? lastly can I add these any arbitary wait duration in the script if the system cannot calculate ( if no agent are logged in) ?

Dynamic report Generation INSERT REPORT/INSERT TEXTPOOL

I have problem while creating dynamic report I have a text file Containing all the lines of a Program If i download the text then the Pgm should be dynamically creted with text elements. i cant Copy text element alone in the text file So i used two lines of statements,
1.one to insert lines of Program
INSERT REPORT repname FROM code.
2. To insert Text elements of that Particular Pgm
INSERT TEXTPOOL repname FROM text2 LANGUAGE langu2.
I want to know how to combine this both..
or is there any other method to dynamically insert the report with textelements.

}ok now the regular statement with constant values inserts data into the database (the regular statement is being used with a result set ) but the prepared statement does not - there are no error messages but it does not insert any data either. The data is going into the variables due to the system.out.println, but is it going into the prepared statement? I believe the prepared statement is being executed with the executeupdate method.

Help needed regarding ALV report

I have a query regarding ALV report.
The requirement is as follows:-
When the user executes the ALV report and if he sums one numeric field column values and filters out some of the field columns ( for example there r 5 columns in the report and the user has filtered out 2 of them and viewing only 3 columns)
and now the requirements is that when the user runs the report later he should see the modified report ( i mean only 3 cloumns and the total value of the column which he has made) but not the original output which was there when the report was developed.
First of all i wanna know is it possible to do r not. If yes then how

Yes you can! You have to manage the layout variant.
So when you call your ALV you have to set the parameter I_SAVE = 'A'.
In this way you'll allow the user to save the variants for layout.
After you has to have a chance to choose the variant in selection-screen.
See the demo program BCALV_GRID_11 to manage the variant in selection-screen.

My first guess is that the database is objecting to the use of "date" as a column name; "date" is often a reserved word in databases.
It would be less of a guess if you posted the actual error message.
