Regarding javabean

hi
          i am using javabean in a jsp page. where do i keep the beans class files in weblogic server6.1?

If you're using a web application (WAR or exploded directory), the class
          files should be in the application's WEB-INF/classes directory, or in
          WEB-INF/lib as a jar file. It should look something like this:
          config/APPNAME/applications
          test.jsp
          WEB-INF/lib
          test.jar
          Both WEB-INF/classes and all jars inside WEB-INF/lib are automatically
          included in your web app's classpath.
          Hope that helps,
          Nils

  • Can any one can help me.....

    Hay any one can contact me who is using D.S 9i and has worked on Javabean so please contact me, Actually I want to use Javabean in my forms but from the last week I am just visiting internet and contacting people for help...Much people helped me very nicely and they provided much documents to me and I have learned much by reading them but javabean is not running,
    I moved the jars file to d.s\forms90\java directory, I have set and added the jars file in both of the environment variables (CLASSPATH,forms_builder_classpath) and setted them too in the CLASSPATH variable which exists in the default.env + added the jars file too into archive and archive_jini variable in formsweb.cfg but when I run the form and when its start, the explorer is running only I can see the mesage ''Applet started" nothing else ....I do not know much regarding javabean and I do not know how to set its implementation property, I downloaded the form by a good website... So if any one is using javabean or he is a good developer so please contact me.... I will be waiting as I have done all the things for using the javabean but it is not running....Thanks....

    Hello Mr.Faheem,

  • Regarding using a javabean database connections file

    Hi..I have a javabean file which contains some database connections.I would like to use this file in another javabean file. However, I got this 'cannot resolve symbol' error on the following line.The two javabean files i have here are sqlBean and TransactInfoBean which are contained in the same package.
    <coding>
    public class TransactInfoBean extends sqlBean {
    </coding>

    Are you sure you've got everything right ? One big problem with Java is that there is a difference between myClass and MyClass. A simple capital can make a big difference.

  • Cannot unmarshal an XML document to a JavaBean without its XML Schema?

    Hi,
    2 questions:
    1. I have an XML document and have the corresponding JavaBean (the 2 already exist). I tried to unmarshall the XML document using JAXB but I get a strange error of duplicate attributes/elements no matter if I use the annotations @XmlElement, @XmlAttribute etc. The code I use is simply:
    JAXBContext jc = JAXBContext.newInstance("MyClass.class");
    Unmarshaller u = jc.createUnmarshaller();
    MyClass myClass = (MyClass) u.unmarshal(new File("myxml.xml"));Do I always have to create the .xsd file of my xml, create the JavaBean using xjc and then run the above?
    2. Can I use JAXB to parse an XML file to a JavaBean but, because the xml file is a complicated one, to use xpaths to get the attributes?
    E.g. to use something like this?
    @XmlAttribute ("xpath/to/attribute")Thank you in advance for your replies.

    .class file in "root_dir/webapps/ROOT/WEB-INF/classes" (No change)
    .JSP file in "root_dir/webapps/ROOT/myDir" (/myDir/myJsp.jsp)
    In my JSP file iam calling Bean as follows
    <jsp:useBean id="mybean" scope="session" class="bean.class" />

  • The deployment problem in JSP using JavaBean

    Hi there,
    I followed the descriptions in Writing Enterprise Applications with
    Java 2 SDK, Enterprise Edition tutorial to build a set of programs to run JSP with JavaBean, and I also followed the steps in creating new WAR file, but some how it wouldn't work after I deployed them. I run the JSP in IE and got a message like this:
    org.apache.jasper.JasperException: Unable to compile class for JSP
    An error occurred at line: 20 in the jsp file: /1bonus.jsp
    Generated servlet error:
    c:\j2sdkee1.3.1\repository\orbit\web\JSPRoot\$1bonus$jsp.java:63: Class org.apache.jsp.JBonusBean not found.
    JBonusBean jbonus = null;
    ^
    I used the deploytool to create the WAR file, and after I added the 1bonus.jsp, I also added JBonusBean into the WAR file. I found 1bonus.jsp was added into the WAR file, but there's no JBonusBean appeared under the WAR file.
    Could you please tell me is there anything wrong?
    Thanks for your time.
    Regards,
    Eric

    I think you have not imported 'BonusBean' in your jsp. Code this line in your jsp at the top.
    <%@page import="BonusBean" %>

  • What is a javabean and how to compose it?

    Q1:although have used many java class in jsp within tomcat, but i don't is it a standard javabean. I mean is any java class can be an javabean, or what is the different between javabean and java class.
    for now i found some problem with 'javabean' used in jsp.
    Q2:what is ther difference between use jsp:setProperty,jsp:getProperty and direct give value like 'myBean.variable=100'?
    thanks!

    javabeans are standard classes but have :
    - default constructor
    - getter and setter methods
    javabean can be used on custom tags, so no code on your jsp !
    why don't directly use attributes ?
    look this thread :
    http://forum.java.sun.com/thread.jsp?forum=45&thread=314643
    this is one, but it's not the only, reason.

  • How to pass a JavaBean from servlet to JSP?

    Hi there,
    I am working on a project that needs to handle quite a few client requests and I want to use the Front Controller pattern that is described in the J2EE pattern page.
    The steps described in the front controller pattern is that:
    1. A servlet (controller) process the client request.
    2. It calls the appropriate cammand object and the cammand object gets the data from the data source and returns a JavaBean that contains the required data.
    3. The servlet dispatch to the appropriate View (jsp page)
    4. The JSP page displays the data in the JavaBean to the user.
    However, I don't know how to pass the JavaBean from the servlet to the JSP page when the servlet forwards the control to the JSP page. Should I make the JavaBean with a request scope or higher? If so, how to uses it in the JSP page? Just refer by the ID of the JavaBean.
    If any one knows there is an example or tutorial on how to use this pattern, please let me know.
    Thank you !
    Regards
    Edmund

    Could you please give more info? i tried to do this, but always get a "Class not found exception":
    response$jsp.java:65: Class org.apache.jsp.TestBean not found. TestBean bean = null;
    although the class TestBean (no package name => defalt package) is in the WAR file and the Servlet seems to instantiate it (otherwise an exception would occur sooner in the TestServlet code).
    my JSP code is:
    <%@ page language="java" info="Response page" %>
    <jsp:useBean id="bean" class="TestBean" />
    <%
    TestBean bean2 = (TestBean) request.getAttribute("TheBean");

  • Using additional jars in portal (jregex1.2_01.jar ) and use of javabeans

    Hi
    I want to use code that parses regular expressions with java and to that end I would like to use jregex1.2_01.jar (if there is a native jar file in oracle that does the same, that woule be good, but I could not find anything that refers to regex or jregex).
    I tried to put that new jar file in two locations in the portal area under WEB-INF\lib, namely in:
    C:\oracle\ora9ias\j2ee\OC4J_Portal\applications\portal\portal\WEB-INF\lib
    where there are a lot of other jar files and also in:
    C:\oracle\ora9ias\j2ee\OC4J_Portal\applications\jpdk\jpdk\WEB-INF\lib
    However, when I try to compile my code, it fails on the import line:
    import jregex.util.io.*;
    (the line itself is correct)
    Obviously the jregex1.2_01.jar file is not in my classpath, but when oracle was installed, it did not create a CLASSPATH environment variable, so I would not like to make one that may exclude others oracle jars that then are not listed in CLASSPATH.
    I have two questions:
    1. How does import additional jars into Oracle, so that they can be used by java programs, and are there any inherent dangers in doing that?
    2. Where do I place my class file, if I want to use that class file as a javabean. The bean will be referred to by a jsp file which has been imported as a portlet. I assumed I would place my beans under
    C:\oracle\ora9ias\j2ee\OC4J_Portal\applications\jpdk\jpdk\WEB-INF\lib
    as my jsp files are residing close to that, namely in:
    C:\oracle\ora9ias\j2ee\OC4J_Portal\applications\jpdk\jpdk\htdocs\myjsps
    but I am not sure.
    Can anyone help me with setting up additional jars so they can be used by java files (to be used as javabeans) and with the location and use of javabeans in Oracle Portal?
    Any help will be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks very much
    Hugo

    Hi Hugo,
    When developing server-side applications, forget about the CLASSPATH environment variable. You must instead become familiar with how the server's classloading scheme operates.
    From your post, it looks as though you already are familiar to some degree, because you have correctly identified one of the places to put extra jar files, namely WEB-INF/lib.
    At first glance, I would have expected your import to work with the jar file located in WEB-INF/lib - have you made sure you bounced the server?
    Also, make sure that any dependencies of jregex are also included in WEB-INF/lib.
    Another thing to try is add an entry into ${OH}/j2ee/OC4J_Portal/config/application.xml which explicitly references the jregex jar file.

  • Using JavaBean in custom form for Oracle Apps

    Dear All,
    i had build a custom form contains JavaBean that enable user to open file dailog . i had built the java class and test it locally on another form it worked fine, but when run the form from the oracle apps nothing happens
    anyone can advise,plz?
    your notes will be appreciated ...
    thanks in advance...
    Moath Abusirdaneh

    Going forward we want to use this form to send information regarding any patches needs to be applied on any of our instances.If some other user select a patch which is already installed on that instance this form will pop up a message saying it's already installed.The purpose of this form is to monitor instance refreshing details.But this is already provided by Oracle through OAM or by querying AD_BUGS table. So, you could create a custom responsibility which contains the patching part only from OAM but this still require a login to the application.
    I do not think you can achieve the above (creating a custom form) without logging to the application -- You may log a SR to confirm this with Oracle support.
    Thanks,

  • In Jsp TagLib how can I get the Attribute value (like JavaBean) in jsp

    Dear Friends,
    TagLib how can I get the Attribute value (like JavaBean) in jsp .
    I do this thing.
    public void setPageContext(PageContext p) {
              pc = p;
    pc.setAttribute("id", new String("1") );
              pc.setAttribute("first_name",new String("Siddharth")); //,pc.SESSION_SCOPE);
              pc.setAttribute("last_name", new String("singh"));
    but in Jsp
    <td>
    <%=pageContext.getAttribute("first_name"); %>
    cause null is returing.
    Pls HELP me
    with regards
    Siddharth Singh

    First, there is no need to pass in the page context to the tag. It already is present. How you get to it depends on what type of tag:
    Using [url http://java.sun.com/j2ee/1.4/docs/api/javax/servlet/jsp/tagext/SimpleTagSupport.html]SimpleTagSupport
    public class MyTag extends SimpleTagSupport
      public void doTag()
        PageContext pc = (PageContext)getJspContext();
        pc.setAttribute("first_name", "Siddharth");
        pc.setAttribute("last_name", "Singh");
        pc.setAttribute("id", "1");
    }Using [url http://java.sun.com/j2ee/1.4/docs/api/javax/servlet/jsp/tagext/TagSupport.html]TagSupport or it's subclass [url http://java.sun.com/j2ee/1.4/docs/api/javax/servlet/jsp/tagext/BodyTagSupport.html]BodyTagSupport the page context is aleady declared as an implicit object:
    public class MyTag extends TagSupport
      public void doStartTag()
        pageContext.setAttribute("first_name", "Siddharth");
        pageContext.setAttribute("last_name", "Singh");
        pageContext.setAttribute("id", "1");
    }In each case, this sort of thing should work:
    <mytags:MyTag />
    <%= pageContext.getAttribute("first_name") %>I

    My last information regarding the Acrobat Reader jar files were that they are based on Java 1.x, wchih may explain the problems you are running into. I tried these jar files one or two years ago and had problems getting them to work in a newer Java environment.

  • Advanced JavaBean support  in Oracle 9i Forms

    I am able to use javabean components in 9i forms,i am able to access methods properly.I need to change the look and feel (like color,font etc).The methods in the bean take Color,Font etc as parameters. How can i use the FBEAN_INVOKE method with parameters(like Color,Font) which are other than the basic datatypes(varchar2,number,boolean).

    Hello Frank,
    I was thinking the same but while going through the documentation related to 9i forms i came across folowing description.I have copied it from the 9inewfeatures.pdf,see below.
    Using FBEAN, you can programmatically register a JavaBean at runtime, get and
    set properties and execute methods, all from within PL/SQL, without having to
    write any extra Java code! Even if your JavaBean is complex and uses data types
    that cannot readily be translated from the basic PL/SQL types, the FBEAN
    interface is extensible using Java and can be tailored to your requirements.
    Now after going through this i tried to find out how it can be tailored for our requirements.but i could not find any explaination anywhere.
    I posted he query thinking if any one who has worked on this earlier, could guide me ,it would be realy nice.
    thanks for the reply

  • Javabean for file up-/down-load to/from the database

    Dear all,
    Has anyone any experience in client-side customizing/extending
    through the use of standard JavaBeans or
    Pluggable Java Components (PJCs) within the Oracle (Web-)Forms
    Developer 6i environment? We want to realize the
    following:
    By using a Java Bean within a (Web-)Forms 6i client that is
    capable of file uploads to and file downloads from a database
    (end tier).
    Important requirement is to uploads/downloads files (BLOB, CLOB)
    directly to/from the database, NOT TO/FROM THE FILESYSTEM.
    We have found a sample JavaBean on
    http://otn.oracle.com/sample_code/products/forms/content.html.
    Unfortunately, this code is based on file transfering to/from
    the filesystem.
    Is there someone who did customizations enabling file
    uploads/downloads into/from the database? Are there any
    other suggestions?

    I've not tried this out but in theory since a Java Bean is just
    a piece of Java code you could do this using JDBC. However,
    while you may have a valid reason for this, it really defeats
    the purpose of having a middle tier. The idea behind the web
    deployment is that the bulk of the application is on a powerful
    server which makes the client as light weight as possible. If
    you add more functionality to the client (which is not UI
    specific) then you will increase the download to the client, you
    will impact the system requirements for the client and you will
    probably make the application less scalable (think about if yu
    have 1000 clients with database connections for the middle tier
    and now all 1000 want to connect from the client as well - yuo
    double the access of the database)
    SO the short answer is Yes yuo can in theory - in practice I
    would be very careful in deciding to move this way.
