Regarding: User limit and tables limits

For Application demo, we need to Install oracle Express addition, Please specify what the limitation it has comparzing with standard edition. If we are developing our application on stardard addition and we have around 400 tables, 1600 Sps and 100 views , then can we run Express addition with all the required database objects. we are not using replication or clustering.

You can look for the details yourself:

    IS on hand in user guide from table MTL_ONHAND_QUANTITIES?
    How to understand on hand in user guide and table MTL_ONHAND_QUANTITIES?
    http://etrm.oracle.com/pls/et1211d9/etrm_fndnav.show_object?n_appid=401&n_tabid=52063&c_type=TABLE
    What does "Not implemented in this database" mean?

    What the page is saying that MTL_ONHAND_QUANTITIES is not a table. It is a view.
    The main table underlying the view is mtl_onhand_quantities_detail.
    After you perform a transaction, the data in this table (and view) is updated automatically.
    You don't have to do anything.

  • Reg : User name and table spaces

    Hi all,
    I want to show all the user names in DB and total table apace , Occupied spaceand free space .
    Please help on this,
    Thanks in advance .

    for all users you can query
    select * from ALL_USERSbut why are you posting the same problem in 3 different threads.
    for calculating size of the table you can use
    select sum(bytes) from dba_segments
    where segment_name = 'YOUR_TABLE'and for rowsize you can use something like this
    select
         max(vsize(empno)) +
         max(vsize(ename)) +
         max(vsize(job)) +
         max(vsize(mgr)) +

  • Domain name and Mobile me host question regarding user name and password

    I am waiting for my domain name from godaddy to forward to my mobile me website. When I typed in my website to see if it launched, I get a screen that says "the server www.marysmith.com at me.com requires a username and password. And then there is a prompt to enter my username and password.
    Have I done something to prompt or lock my website? It is hard for me to tell, because I am still waiting for the domain name to connect to my mobile me website, but I have done this before and never got this screen. Additionally, I do enter my mobile me password and then I it connects me to the mobile me home page. Not sure if that is good or bad. Thanks for any help!

    The URL - http://www.marysmith.com/ - is working for me. Empty your browser cache and try again.

  • Export/Import utility: unusual schema and table names

    Hi, I am working on the correct TABLE, SCHEMA.TABLE and SCHEMA names validation.
    Unfortunately, I didn't find good examples in documentation and therefore turn to the forum.
    Example: I have "My User" schema and "My Table" table and SCOTT with "scott table".
    Export:
    If I connect as My User (using client 10), I have to write
    TABLES=('"my table"', 'SCOTT."scott table"')
    If I connect as My User, (client 9 and older?) I have to write
    TABLES=('"My Table"', '"SCOTT.scott table"')
    Am I wright? It seems to work.
    ==The first question:
    Does the quoting method depends on the client version?
    I mean, '"SCOTT.scott table"' works on 9 but 'SCOTT."scott table"' works on 10.
    ==
    Further, If I connect as SCOTT, (client 10), I write
    TABLES=('"My User"."My Table"', 'SCOTT."scott table"')
    It seems to work.
    If I connect as SCOTT, (client 9 and older?), neither
    TABLES=('"My User"."My Table"', 'SCOTT."scott table"')
    nor
    TABLES=('"My User.My Table"', '"SCOTT.scott table"')
    doesn't work!
    == The second question:
    How should I write "My User"."My Table" on the 9 client?
    Import:
    I don't know how to make import to "My User".
    FULL=Y
    TOUSER='"my user"'
    # and
    #TOUSER="my user"
    doesn't work. The same with USER mode and TABLE mode import.
    Thanks to everyone who can help.

    I'm not sure how you would have been able to create a user with the user name 'my user' since gaps in the username are not allowed.
    Generally, Oracle isn't case sensitive, so the fact that 'my user' gets converted to 'MY USER' isn't a problem - infact, oracle will always present usernames in UPPER CASE unless you explicitly use the LOWER() function when selecting them from the dba_users table.
    So anyway, I think that the steps you need are:
    (from SQL*Plus, logged in a as a DBA user e.g. sys or system)
    create user MY_USER
    identified by apassword;
    grant connect, resource to my_user;
    Then, from the operating system command line:
    imp my_user/apassword@connect_string file=dump_filename.dmp FROMUSER=scott TOUSER=my_user;
    that should work.....

  • EBS architecture regarding DB, tablespace, users and tables

    Hi All,
    I do have some questions regarding the database, data model, table space... architecture of an EBS 12.1.1 installation (I use Windows 2008 as platform):
    1)
    Table space:
    Is it correct that the table space used for EBS Apps tables is applsys? Is there more than one table space used for EBS tables?
    2)
    User:
    The Database user used by EBS to connect to the DB is "apps", right? The users mfg, sysadmin... are logical users which do not have a correspondent db account. Is that correct as well?
    3)
    DB Access:
    How can I setup the right environment to access the DB. In order to execute sqlplus, I need to set a proper environment. There is a script called "c:\oracle\VIS\apps\apps_st\appl\VIS_ebs1.cmd". Is that the right script?
    I do have more that one script with that name. Example: C:\oracle\VIS\inst\apps\VIS_ebs1\ora\10.1.3\VIS_ebs1.cmd
    How do I know, which one is the right script for what purpose?
    4)
    Data model and tables:
    I found etrm which should give an overview of the EBS data model (and much more), but up to know, I'm not wuite sure how to use it to find the information I'm looking for.
    Example: I would like to know where EBS items are stored. I found these tables:
    INVFG_ITEMS
    INVFV_ITEMS.
    In INVFG_ITEMS I was able to find my newly created items, but is it the "main" table for items. How can I find that out? Is etrm the right tool for this?
    In etrm, there is a section with FND and another section with DBA. What is the difference and when would I use which section?
    I'm sorry for that much questions but right now, my understanding of the EBS and it's architecture is still very basic and these are things which I need to know in order to get a better picture...
    Many thanks,
    Konrad

    Hi Konrad;

    For unix/linux we can use 2 users,1 for dbtier and other for appstier.

  • Table contain user name and tcode

    Dear Experts,
    Can you tell me which Table contained user name and tcode field?
    Thanks and Best regards,
    wilson

    You need to be even more carefull with parameter transactions.
    If SU24 is not maintained for them, PFCG will pull the proposals from the core transaction (via which the parameters are used in the skip screen feature...). If the core transaction has authority proposals for S_TCODE, then you will get those tcodes and their proposals as well.
    A carefull choice of menu objects (not only limited to Tcodes), taking heed of SU24 defaults and tuning it to meet your needs is the key. But it requires organizational discipline and good training, otherwise rather dont use it for anything other than important objects which you want to control manually only, even if your business roles are a mess.
    You can also restrict the authorizations of the security admins for example (as unpopular as that may sound... to segregate authorization concept development (SU24 etc), role building development (PFCG etc) and user administration (SU01 etc). Object S_USER_TCD also has a field called TCD...
    There are also other objects (as Dipanjan has pointed out) which have TCD as a field of an object which is not S_TCODE. In addition to I_TCODE, Q_TCODE, P_TCODE, see also S_IDOCMONI for example.
    To be honest I have given up on trying to find them all
    The easiest solution is to use the menu and maintain SU24 when the transaction is configured or the application is developed and tested. That is what SAP does as well in SU22. It is more work upfront, but more sustainable in the long run.
    If your users (and auditors) only see the menu (and use the SUIM --> Executable transactions) options, then you can get away with it in the short or even medium term. Latest when someone else need to maintain the roles they will hate it...
    My 2 cents,
    Julius

  • Perils of the 50 column collection limit and 100 column page limits.

    Hi All,
    You comments and advice would be much appreciated.
    Does anybody know if there are plans with APEX 4.0 to alter the 50 column collection limit and/or the 100 column page limit? This has become a stumbling block to our use of Apex for UI requirements.
    Before someone tells me that it is bad design to have large numbers of columns (>100) on a page, the reality is that we have many tables exceeding 100 columns. Users need the ability to filter data from these tables by way of an interactive report linked to a form where they can edit individual cell values displayed on the form, and submit the updates. The 100 column limit prevents this.
    To avoid the clutter of a 100+ columns being displayed simultaneously the aesthetics can be improved by use of Hide and Show Regions for groupings of like columns.
    I have decided that the forms need to be used for ad-hoc updates only, and not for new record creation, however the 100 column limit means that even this is not feasible. I have thought of using a custom update procedure based on updating only changed* item values which should usually be less than 100 per record. Any ideas on how to do this efficiently??
    Creating new records via large forms is not desirable as users are likely to revolt at filling in anything like 100 items on a form. (I did experiment with a wizard approach involving an insert of mandatory fields on the first page followed by a series of updates to the newly created record, on subsequent wizard pages, but I considered this to be too messy, involved and confusing for the user.
    I decided the a better solution for new records was to do all inserts into these large tables via delimited file (csv's) uploads. With help from previous forum articles, I managed to create a working, generic, table loading tool. Then I ran into the *50 column collection limit*.
    My solution will now have to involve the use of external tables and database stored procedures for processing the data loads, hopefully via an Apex interface. In one application alone this will mean 17 external tables and associated load procedures plus more complex maintenance, troubleshooting and training. All of this would be far simpler without the hard limits on columns.
    Cheers,
    Meagain

    Good questions! We've also run into this problem of attempting to update/insert into tables with more then 100 columns.
    I'm not sure if this is a feasible solution however I was wondering if something might be able to be done with mod pl/sql and flexible parameter passing. If the apex app could create a url with parameter/value pairs then potentially this could go to the mod pl/sql proc that could receive an unlimited number of parameters. Potentially a generic solution could then dynamically use the parameter names to insert/update the relevant columns with the parameter values.
    I haven't had time to try it however - anyone have any thoughts as to whether this would be a practical (or even possible) approach? Are there other ways of getting around this with apex?
    As for loading data from a file the solution here: http://www.danielmcghan.us/2009/02/easy-csv-uploads-yes-we-can.html can be extended beyond 50 columns reasonably simply. You need to alter the temp table and in the package the TYPE csv_rt and where the value is read into the csv_rt variable (l_record).

  • VIRSA tables for users, roles and profiles sync?

    Hello,
    I am in a customer, implementing CC 5.2. At the first time, we tried CC 5.2 in DEV environment, and when everything was OK, we redirect RFC connectors to QA environment.
    After doing user, roles and profiles sync in DEV and in QA environment too, I have 4.500 user (1.100 from DEV + 3.400 from QA) when I recover all users "*" with "user level - risk analysis" from the "Informer" tab.
    It seems that "users, roles, profiles, sync" works like and "APPEND", but I did a COMPLETE syncronization not an INCREMENTAL.
    If I start an analysis for QA environment, CC works properly and only analyse QA users (3.400). But I would like to clean CC tables (users, roles and profiles) in order to have a clean copy of QA in CC.
    Which VIRSA tables (users, roles and profiles) I need to clean?
    It is necessary to do the same with authorization and text objects? Which would be these tables?
    Thanks in advance,
    Victor

    SAP GRC Support provides a script which allows you to remove a connector since it does delete all data link to it. Anyway, I would recommend a deep analysis of it and find out if it does what you really want to do.
    Víctor, if what you want to do it is just to remove all user, role and profile master data (stored in tables VIRSA_CC_SYSUSR and VIRSA_CC_GENOBJ) you could upload a text file using data extractor functionality with the delete field set to X. Doing so user, role and profile master data will be removed from CC database.
    In order to use data extraction functionlaity you connector must be of type "File Local".
    Be careful about removing data directly from DB since, as Prem states, you might loose the DB consistency.
    Hope it helps. Best regards,

  • New User Database schema and table name

    When i create a new user in Oracle Webcenter Spaces 11g, I am not able to get the name of the database schema and table, where it is stored. Any insight on this will be very helpful.

    WebCenter (and WebCenter spaces) uses an 'identity store' instead of database schema for storing user information - in an 'out of the box' installation, users are maintained through an embedded WebLogic LDAP store.
    See the Oracle Fusion Middleware Administrator's Guide for Oracle WebCenter, p. 34-2.
    At the end of section 34.4.1:
    WebCenter Spaces supports self-registration. When new WebCenter users
    self-register, they create their own login and password and a new user account is
    created in the identity store. See also, Section 34.4, "Allowing Self-Registration".

  • JKM DB2 400 column and table name 10 character limit

    I am trying to set up CDC on an iSeries. I have successfully loaded data with the LKM SQL to Oracle, and now I want to set up CDC for the table and am trying to use "JKM DB2 400" . I get invalid token errors when I try to start journalizing, and it appears to be the table and column names, used to set up CDC, which are more than the 10 character limit. Tables like SNP_JRN_SUBSCRIBER seem to come from the getJrnInfo function and other table and column names are hard coded. I want to copy the JKM and reduce all of the names to less than 10 characters.
    Where else are these names used? How does the interface know which table names to use when set to use only journalized data and how can I change it to use the new shorter names? Is there a better solution?

    Thanks to all for assistance. It turns out that the 10 character limit, about which the server people warned me, isn't an issue with my ODBC connection. The invalid token error was being caused by some missing qualifiers in the generated sql which caused appearances of ".tablename" rather than "tablename" and other similar. I was able to modify the knowledge module to eliminate this issue and the CDC worked correctly on my first test.
