Regarding value updates in Table V_T559D

Hello,
Can you please let me know, how to update a value in table V_T559D.
The scenerio is like this :- We have to update the expiry of probation under no of deduction in Table V_T559D(Deliminate validity and deduction periods).
Plz explain me the steps how to do this.

Hi,
Goto SM31, write V_T559D in the table/field.
When the entries come to screen double click the one you wanna change and make the necessary modifications.

I want to update default value 'X' in ztable field through report.How to set the field value always containing X only.

Can you a bit clarify your question ? - I understand if the ZTable field value is 'X' you need to update it right ?
Then , fetch the entries of the tables for which the field values is 'X' and modify the field value as per the business requirement and update the same table. You can use the work areas while updating the ZTable.

I know that under no circumstances should customers update their SQL tables using any method expect DTW or via SAP.
Is there an SAP Note on this subject. I cannot find one anywhere?

I wrote a query to fetch data like below ( actually scenario is each control number can have single or multiple PO under it ) (i used rank by to find parent to tree like show of data)

Now requirement is I need to update Table T30's col3 (which do have values in T20 but not this table) in such a way that , It should take MIN (COL3) from T20 and then update that value to related Col3)

If I have understood your requirement correctly, you need to update an internal table with latest 'value_new' from cdpos table where 'fname' = 'fieldname' .
Hope the below logic will help you:
FIELD-SYMBOLS: <wa_intab> LIKE LINE OF lt_intab. "the internal table you want to change
LOOP AT lt_intab ASSIGNING <wa_intab> .
 READ TABLE lt_cdpos INTO wa_cdpos "lt_cdpos contains latest data selected from CDPOS
 WITH KEY fname = <wa_intab>-fieldname.
 IF sy-subrc = 0.
 <wa_intab>-value = wa_cdpos-value_new.
 ELSE.
 "//logic if the name is not there in CDPOS
 ENDIF.
 CLEAR wa_cdpos.
ENDLOOP.
If you wish to improve performance, I suggest using
1. "transporting value_new" addition in READ TABLE,
2. select only the data which you require from CDPOS,
3. create the internal tables with only fields which you require,
4. when you are using SELECT,LOOP AT statements, limit records by using WHERE condition

on click of the button i am able to display the values from the database.

After calling the valuechange method, the screen output doesn't update the cost.

As you're misusing the valueChangeListener to set another input field, you need to skip the update model values phase. Otherwise the value set in the valueChangeListener will be overridden by the submitted value. You can do this by calling the FacesContext#renderResponse() inside the valueChangeListener method. This will shift the current phase immediately to the render response phase, hereby skipping the update model values and invoke application phases.

How can i insert new updated values in a table??

Can any one suggest me is there any way to insert the recently added data from one table to another table where both the tables have the same structure.
Suppose i have 10 rows in both table T1 and T2 and now if we add another 4 new rows in the table T2 .Can i update my table T2 w.r.t. T1 with these new row values.
Remember both the 10 rows in the tables T1 and T2 are the same and the strucuture of the tables are also the same.

I thought of a more simple approach instead of going to the concept of stored procedure.But i am unable to do it on a scheduled basis like if i want this query to be run on a periodic basis i need to implement this sql query using a job.
can u suggest how to do it..As far as i know we can include the sql query inside a job to be scheduled on a weekly basis.
And also have a look at the sql i have written below it will insert all the extra row values of t2 into t1.please help me in scheduling it on a periodic basis .

can anyone let me know whether any hrms api is available to update the values in the table PER_PERIODS_OF_PLACEMENT.
I want to update the values under the column TERMINATION_REASON in per_periods_of_placement for few set of contingent workers(for those a wrong reason was entered need to replace with correct value now).

Update table based on values from other table

Hi,
I am trying to update one table based on the values of another table. Since you can't use From in update statements, how do you execute this?
For example i have to tables, Table A and Table B. I want to update a column or columns in Table A based on another value in Table B:
So if the column in Table B was 1 then column in Table A would be Yes, if Table B was 2, then Table A would be Yes, if Table B was 3 then Table A would be N/A and so on...
Any help would be appreciated.

I need to reguarly perform a task where i update 1 table with all the new data that has been entered from another table. I cant perform a complete insert as this will create duplicate data every time it runs so the only way i can think of is using cursors as per the script below:

Almost anything would be better than that slow-by-slow loop processing.
You don't need a procedure you should just use MERGE for that. See the examples in the MERGE section of the SQL Language doc

Updating a table with a query that return multiple values

I'm trying to update a table which contain these fields : ItemID, InventoryID, total amounts
with a query that return these values itemId, inventoryid and total amounts for each items
Mind you, not all the rows in the table need to be updated. only a few.
This what i wrote but doesn't work since the query return multiple values so i can't assign it to journalAmounts.

this is actual requirement
in the CAT2.
1. Add a new column for WBS description and derive the value as per the FS
2. Retrieve project number and description and update in the column specified
3. When a service order is selected it should do the same for 2.
4. Finally repeat for the worklist view (which is the section above)
   here i am able to display values at data entry area
for service order and network but not worklist area ?
    updation is not coming, can u plz go throw it..
