Regarding wieghted average

Hi
I have a requirement like this pasted below to calculcate the weighted average.
A        B      C=B*A   Wtd avg
2     300$     600$     1.92
1     200$     200$     (1250$/650$)=1.92
3     150$     450$     1.92
Overall Result:
6     650$     1250$     1.92
I am not getting the correct wtd average in my last column.I used the following expression to claculate the wtd average SUMGT 'C'/SUMGT 'B'.Would be glad if any feedback or rectifications to this.I also tried SUMCT and SUMRT and they are not working.

Bharathraj.N

Why you want a separate column ? In all the column 1.92 which is the total WA in overall result is repeating?
Or is it a mistake in your post. For Example
In the First ROw WA will be C1/B1.
In the Second Row WA will be (C1C2)/(B1B2)
In the 3rd  Row WA will be (C1C2C3)/(B1B2B3) and so on ....
In this case you can try like right click the column and select Calculate as "Cumulative".

  • Moving average about the last x records

    Hello,
I have a question regarding moving average calculation. The query contains information about tools, the date of the tool's breakdown and the quantity of produced parts with this tool.
Now I want to have an moving average over e.g. 3 tools back from the actual line.
    1) Tool 1 - 2007-05-16 - 6.000   pieces - Average: 10k8k6k / 3 = 8.000
    2) Tool 2 - 2007-05-13 - 8.000   pieces - Average: 9k10k8k / 3 = 9.000
    3) Tool 3 - 2007-05-03 - 10.000 pieces - Average: 5k9k10k / 3 = 8.000
    4) Tool 4 - 2007-04-24 - 9.000   pieces - Average: 9.000+5000 / 2 = 7.000
    5) Tool 5 - 2007-04-03 - 5.000   pieces - Average: 5.000 / 1 = 5.000
Is this possible in BI 7.0?
    Best regards,

  • Running average

    Hi,
regarding running average I'd like to ask for advice. I have an application where I read analog voltages from a DSO6104a oscilloscope. 1000 samples are taken in a 20 ms Iong window in every two seconds. I want to create a running average in a way that the 1000 data points are taken, averaged and the averaged value is displayed in a chart. I tried to do the following:
1, read the 1000 data points with the appropriate VI for that oscilloscope
    2. I get the voltage value components and store them into the array
    3. I summarise the content of the array
    4. divide it by 1000.
This is how I thought it should be but the results are some weird numbers. Can you please advise where it's gone wrong/how to make it better.
    Thanks,

Ermm...I thought that a running average is basically an instantaneous average...what is the real difference?
    There is a difference: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moving_average.
What I try to achieve and confused about is that there is an input data stream which is read by the ag6000a single channel VI. It reads 1000 samples in every 2 seconds [wait time in the while loop]. The output of the read VI connects to a waveform chart displaying the actual voltage values but at the same time I would like to average these 1000 data points and put the averaged value into another waveform chart. I think how I've done it - the getComponents+array - is not correct...
How is it possible to average these 1000 data points and display them in every loop sequence?
You don't show the rest of the code, but (as has been pointed several times) the Mean VI will give you the average of the array you get from the read . You can wire this value directly to a chart. You mentioned charts, so I assume you know the difference between a chart and a graph? If not, please review the help on graphs and charts and look at the examples that ship with LabVIEW.

  • How many frames is the average animated card

I'm creating an animated holiday card for my company website and I am fairly new to Flash. What is the average amount of frames to use for this and should it be 24 or 30 fps?

The fps can be whatever you prefer - 24 versus 30 ... either is fine.
I doubt you will be getting an answer regarding the average number of frames in a card animation.  Animations can vary between 1 (code based)) and thousands of frames.
If you give a description of the animation you intend to create a guesstimate might be possible

  • The transaction does not die after the kill and I have to restart Oracle

    Hi,
I have this very hard issue with my production environment.
A transaction started from java hangs after the user has closed the browser before the transaction was completed. The transaction remains in wait for "latch free" in v $ transaction.
When the WebSphre is stopped the transaction is not closed. Neither the kill on Oracle or on Unix conclude the transaction. The restart of the DB is required.
The rollback segment pointed to by the transaction is always the same. Although the procedure call by java is always the same.
The database does not have performance problems and only one transaction per day waits for "latch free" and do not closed.
The problem could be the rollback segment? Why Oracle is unable to resolve the transaction even if the client is dead and the WebSphere off?
    Regards,
    BingoBongo

The average duration of the transaction is 10/15 seconds.
When it lasts longer the client is closed and the transaction remains locked. But not always only in a particular case.
From this moment the transaction is waiting for "latch free" and the value of the field USED_UBLK/USED_UREC does not increase and not decrease.
The wait event is always the "latch free".
The kill (Unix, Oralce) has no effect on the transaction.
The rollback segment is always the same.
The procedure call is always acts the same.
The value of "SECONDS_IN_WAIT-WAIT_TIME/100" increases up to a certain point and then start over again.
This is a snapshot of a transaction that requires restart of the DB:

  • 3D TV. Samsung, LG?

I'm going to buy 3D TV. Samsung, LG which brand is better?

I second the opinion about consumer reports.  They are valuable in regards to finding out specifics regarding the average failure rate within the first year on TVs, but lack the experts necessary to be objective during the review process.  Open up an issue and see who is advertising, then see how that brand scores in that issue, tells a lot.
I would recommend visitng Cnet.com for objective TV reviews, most notably one's conducted by David Katzemeir (sp?).  Cnet calibrates each TV BEFORE reviewing, so that you get the most from the review.  They also post the calibrated setting sometimes for each display.
I prefer active, but I wont say that everybody sees the same.  If you want the best quality and are not sensitive to flicker then active is for you.  If you want cheap, easy to wear glasses but are willing to sacrifice vertical line resolution then passive will be fine.
And dont give me "LG has certified 1080p passive 3D" BS, using that logic active glasses can achieve 2160p by means of interlacing the two glass frames (This is wrong but a good example of my point).  I'm sure they'd be able to pay somebody to "certify" that rediculous claim if they really wanted to.

  • Finding Avg Row Length size

    Hi All,
How we can find Avg row length size of a table, without inserting data into a table. This is required to basically estimate table size (roughly). We might need to this for at least 100+ tables.
    regards,
    vara

The average row length depends on the data you are inserting into the table.
You can easily compute an approximation of the max row length from Oracle’s data dictionary:
    select
      table_name ,
      sum(data_length)
    from
      user_tab_columns
    group by
table_nameLet’s say we have a table with a number(10) and a varchar2(1000) column. For a data set where the varchar2 column contains at least 900 characters we would get average row size of 900+. For the same table, but with another data set where the varchar2 column has fewer than 50 characters, we would get average row size of less than 100.

When you're importing new objects rather than updating, as you are here, you need to leave LineNum empty as B1 will assign them - although the column must be present.
With Material Revaluations, I've found it works better if you import them as a series of single-row transactions. It's a bit untidy and unfortunate that you have to do this, but the error information is so poor - at least in patch 39 - that it's the only way to find out which lines are a problem, from the csv error file.
When I got 'Overlapping IO' errors it was because I had a few non-inventory Items mixed in.

  • Average & SUM in a Single criteria in the Pivot View

    Hi,
Can you plese let me know whether it is possible to have SUM at the Grand Total level & Average on the Right Hand side of the Pivot Table view at the same time.
    Thanks & Regards

    Hi,
The way you want to do it is not possible.
What you can do is make a union of 2 reports one is using the Sum and the other the AVG and not use the Grand total provided by OBIEE.It's kind of creating your own Grand Totals
Look at this thread it will help:

  • IMAQ Resample performance. Any better choice for 50% downsample? (average 2x2 - 1 pixel)

My video source is a 4 Mpixel (2k x 2k resolution) USB3 camera. This is displaying a live image OK in Labview at 45 fps using only 20% CPU.  So far, so good.
I added a "IMAQ Resample" block to downsize this to 1024 x 1024 image. That works with almost no additional processing time if I select "Zero Order" interpolation (eg. plain subsample to value of nearest pixel). However, I want to average each 2x2 block (4 pixels) in the input image into 1 output pixel. I *think* that is the effect of selecting Bi-Linear interpolation. Doing that works, but takes about 45% of CPU.  I want to do some other processing but am worried I will quickly run out of CPU time and start dropping frames.
Is there any better way to do this simple 50% downsize (2x2 average), that would take less CPU overhead, or is this the best way?

    Hi jbeale1,
In NI-MAX (Measurement & Automation Explorer) select your camera. Under the  'Acquistion Attributes' tab do you see an option to change the Video Mode of your camera to a different resolution? If your camera supports it, it would be more efficient to change the resolution there.
If not , here is a little more info regarding the IMAQ Resample VI:
    http://zone.ni.com/reference/en-XX/help/370281P-01/imaqvision/imaq_resample/
You are correct, the Bi-Linear option uses a more intensive interpolation technique which is why it is more taxing on your CPU. I hope this is helpful.

    Hi,

I have offered a solution but as I've said it's not great but it may meet your needs.

Could you calculate it and display it within a page item below the report instead?

    Hi Abapers.
I've been searching for some info about averages in OO Alv grid lists but cannot find an answer to what I'm really need. The question is that, for getting an average, a 'C' value must be set in the field DO_SUM of the fieldcatalog structure for a field.
