Registered plsql callback not notified

Oracle Database 10g Enterprise Edition Release 10.2.0.3.0
Production system: Two-instance RAC
Testing system: Single instance
I have a PL/SQL procedure registered through DBMS_AQ.REGISTER to be notified when messages come in on a particular queue. While it works in test, it is never called in production.
I have checked that the messages are enqueued correctly. There are no messages in the associated exception queue. There do not seem to be any trace files associated with this failed notification.
There are messages in the exception queue for AQ_SRVNTFN_TABLE. The USER_DATA for these messages seems to be the procedure which I registered.
What can I do next?

Looks like we found it...

  • Plsql callback (dbms_aq.register) stops working

    we had, for quite a while, a working situation where a incoming message notifies a plsql procedure, which dequeues and handles the message, resulting in a response message in a different queue
    the queue has one subscriber and through dbms_aq.register I registered a plsql callback and all worked fine for about a year
    suddenly this stopped working - messages aren't dequeued anymore - for no apparent reason (nothing changed in this part of the database)
    I already dropped and recreated the queue table, queues, subscriptions and registered the plsql callback again, but no results
    does anyone have a clue where to look (specific sys tables/views, database parameters etc) because I am running out of ideas...
    we are running the 10.2.0.1.0 database

    Jan,
    The EMNO (Event Monitor) process is responsible to execute the AQ notifications, in this case your pl/sql callback. This may or may not be your problem. • Where can i find plsql callback procedure error

    I am using Oracle 11.2.0.3.
    I have registered a callback procedure to my queue (point to point persistent message queue). Is the error from callback procedure stored somewhere?
    I did see some entries to  SYS.AQ_SRVNTFN_TABLE_1 , which is exception table for notification queue but it did not had ORA error of why my callback procedure failed?

    Thanks.

    I want to know what error is thrown by call back procedure. Right now, only option i have is to log  exception into a table. I wanted to know if oracle already logs the exception from callback procedure somewhere or if i can configure my callback to do so.

  • The wrong name of the message sender appears. The phone also does not notify the receiver. This started after we purchased in iPad and attempted sending that phone an iMessage.

    When sending messages to one of our iPhones, the wrong name of the sender appears. The phone also does not notify the receiver. This started after we purchased in iPad and attempted sending that phone an iMessage.

    Hi buddy, I figured out what is wrong with that. I had the very same issue, while sending an sms via iMessage on Mountain Lion. I called the Apple guy at the Apple care support but without any luck.
    At the end--at least in my case, but it could also be yours--I think I have understood what was going on. This happens when you have your Apple ID registered on more than one device. In my case, we have two iPhones--one for me and one for my wife--but with the same App Store account. So, when I sent an sms via iMessage for the Mac, the receiver was shown my wife's iPhone number.
    I hope I have been clear enough, you know, explaining this in a foreing language is always painful...
    Ciao,
    Antonio
    P.S.: this could be true for similar issues (iMessage wrong sender) that I've read in the Mountain Lion, iPad and iPod forums.

  • Register a Callback function in LabVIEW

    Is there any way to register a callback function in LabVIEW. For example:
    I have a DLL on Win2k that run a thread. This thread is doing a certain task (it is not important what it does...) I can't predict when this task will end and I need to know when the task is over. The easy way would be to poll this DLL and ask: "Is it over? Is it over?" over and over again. No! I don't want to poll. Not because it's too easy. I want this DLL to wake me up on time.
    Any idea, solutions, function that I'm not aware of, new features...
    Thanks
    Nitrof

    I think I have a much better solution for you. Here is an example program that show how to set a LabVIEW occurence in a dll. Therefore when your dll is done it can set the LabVIEW occurence, meanwhile your VI is just waiting on the occurence.
    More infomration on this is in the external code in LabVIEW manual Using External Code in LabVIEW
    NOTE:This will ONLY work in LabVIEW 7.

  • Occi AQ callback not called

    I have written code for dequeing messages with blocking calls (Consumer::recieve), which works fine. Now I try to register a callback function, which should be called when a message is in the queue.
    Some code:
    void aq_connection::create_callback() {
    payload = new Bytes(env); //?
    Subscription newSubscription(env);
    newSubscription.setSubscriptionNamespace(oracle::occi::aq::Subscription::NS_AQ);
    newSubscription.setProtocol(oracle::occi::aq::Subscription::PROTO_CBK);
    newSubscription.setPayload(*payload);
    newSubscription.setCallbackContext((void *)this);
    newSubscription.setSubscriptionName(quename + ":" + config->subscribername);
    newSubscription.setPresentation(oracle::occi::aq::Subscription::PRES_DEFAULT);
    newSubscription.setNotifyCallback(&aq_connection::event_message);
    mye callback method is defined like this:
    static unsigned int event_message(oracle::occi::aq::Subscription &sub ,oracle::occi::aq::NotifyResult *not) {
    std::cout << "got message\n";
    return 0;
    The problem is, the event_message function is never called... I send in messages into the queue with this stored procedure:
    message := OURMSG_TYP(p_id, p_msg_type_id, p_msg, p_operation, p_data);
    enqueue_options.visibility := DBMS_AQ.ON_COMMIT;
         enqueue_options.relative_msgid := NULL;
         enqueue_options.sequence_deviation := NULL;
         enqueue_options.transformation := NULL;
         message_properties.priority := 1;
         message_properties.delay :=     DBMS_AQ.NO_DELAY;
         message_properties.expiration := p_expiration;
         message_properties.correlation := NULL;
         --message_properties.recipient_list :=
         message_properties.exception_queue := vcp_exception_queue_name;
         --message_properties.sender_id :=
         message_properties.original_msgid := NULL;
         message_properties.transaction_group := NULL;
         message_properties.user_property :=     NULL;
         DBMS_AQ.ENQUEUE(
         queue_name => our_queue_name,
    enqueue_options => enqueue_options,
    message_properties => message_properties,
    payload => message,
    msgid => message_handle
    Any obvious reason why my callback is never called?
    regards,
    Sverre

    Thanks, once again. Sorry for my naive questions, but I'm unable to find a good example for this...
    After registering the Subscriber, and creating the environment in EVENT mode, it seems like it is picking up the message. Once I send a AQ message, I get an error from visual studio, telling me the variable ESP was not properly saved across a function call. At least it reacts now :)
    Could it be that I'm doing something wrong when defining or hooking my callback function? The breakpoint in the callback function is never called....
    my registering routine now looks like this:
    void aq_connection::create_callback() {
    payload = new Bytes(env); //is this the correct way?
    Subscription sub(env);
    sub.setSubscriptionNamespace(oracle::occi::aq::Subscription::NS_AQ);
    sub.setProtocol(oracle::occi::aq::Subscription::PROTO_CBK);
    sub.setPayload(*payload);
    sub.setCallbackContext((void *)this);
    sub.setSubscriptionName(quename + ":" + config->subscribername);
    sub.setPresentation(oracle::occi::aq::Subscription::PRES_DEFAULT);
    sub.setNotifyCallback(&aq_connection::event_message);
    subs.push_back(sub);
    conn->registerSubscriptions(subs);
    I thought it was ok to create a local Subscription instance, as I put it into the global subs-vector.
    Thanks in advance,
    Sverre

  • Dequeuing multiples messages in a PLSQL CallBack

    Hi all:
    I would like to dequeue multiples messages in a PLSQL CallBack for performance reason.
    Everything works fine, but I see that Oracle AQ sent the rest of the notifications messages to the callback independent of an empty queue.
    I added a table lock to prevent parallel execution of the Call Back, but when this resource lock is freed, many oracle processes are started in parallel to process the rest of the notification pending.
    Here my Call Back:
      static procedure msgCallBack(context  IN  RAW,
                                   reginfo  IN  SYS.AQ$_REG_INFO,
                                   descr    IN  SYS.AQ$_DESCRIPTOR,
                                   payload  IN  RAW,
                                   payloadl IN  NUMBER) is
        dequeue_options     dbms_aq.dequeue_options_t;
        message_properties  dbms_aq.message_properties_t;
        message_handle      RAW(16);
        message             lucene_msg_typ;
        prefix              VARCHAR2(4000) := utl_raw.cast_to_varchar2(context);
        rcount              NUMBER;
        begin
          EXECUTE IMMEDIATE 'LOCK TABLE '||prefix||'$T IN EXCLUSIVE MODE';
          EXECUTE IMMEDIATE 'select count(*) from '||prefix||'$QT' INTO rcount;
          if (rcount >0) then
            sync(prefix); -- dequeue all messages
          end if;
          commit;
      end msgCallBack;
    sync(prefix) dequeues all messages pending on the queue, if statement is to avoid non-necessary call to sync procedure on an empty queue.
    Is there any way to clean up all pending notification inside a Call Back?
    I'll appreciate any help on this topic.
    Best regards, Marcelo.

    Hi Marcelo,
    If you do a dequeue with dequeue_options.wait=dbms_aq.forever it will wait until the message is enqueued. It is not consuming (much) cpu-time. AQ solves this under water for you by polling the queue-table.
    If you schedule this job with an interval of say 10secs (using dbms_job or dbms_scheduler) the job will come up after database startup. The only other option is to start the process using a sqlplus or similar tool. But since the dequeueu will wait for the next incomming message the sqlplus session will halt. Using the jobscheduler in the database causes the job to be run in a session with in the database (so you get your session freed) and after a database restart, the job will come up.
    You can use this with a normal default queue. You should not use the dequeue_option visibility=dbms_aq.immediate, because then you loose your "transactional grouping".
    I'd advise to either
    . not use wait=dbms_aq.forever, but a reasonable amount of wait time and then let your job run to complete. Then the job scheduler can reschedule the process in an interval of for example 1 - 10 sec.
    . do use wait=dbms_aq.forever but define a kind of "suicide pill". That is a message that you give a special meaning for example a correlation-id with a special text, and the highest possible priority. You have to make sure that it by passes every other message-priority. If the process gets this message it has to stop.
    The reason I advise eiter of them is that you want a means of stopping the process in a neat fashion. For example for maintenance purposes. I personally have a slight prefrence for the first option, because when you remove the job from the jobscheduler you may trust that the job stops. For the second option you have to rely on the process receiving and consuming the suicide pill. But it is manner of taste: the second option is also a good way. The first option introduces a possible latency since the job is regularly not executing for a few seconds. The second gives the best response I think.

    Martien

  • Recursive ActiveX register event callback VI

    Hi!
    I am trying to control a motor in LV2013 using the ActiveX concept. When I use a "register event callback VI" function, can I call the same VI that calls a VI (with the "stop rule" controlled be the user data terminal, of course, inside)? By default, callback Vis that one can create for this are all reentrant (preallocated clone) and synchronious (according to help). However, both when I use the "server VI reference" ("This VI") and when I create a reference and browse for the same file - "register event callback" shows me a broken wire.

    _Basil_ wrote:
    As far as I understood, putting a  movement method in the loop will not give any result, so I tought in the direction of the recursive callback. However, I found this post. Would you in general agree that the callback VI cannot be recursive? I attach my code in LV13 (if you need me to convert, I will)
    Sorry, I'm still on LabVIEW 2012 here, so can't look at your VIs. I don't understand your comments in these sentences though. What do you mean by putting a movement method in a loop will not give any result? And why would you ever want a recursive callback? The callback is called each time the event occurs. There's no sense in making it recursive, nor would you want to re-register for a callback on an event inside a callback VI. Normally a callback should contain very little logic; it should primarily pass some piece of information (through a queue, user event, etc) back to the main thread and let the main logic handle it.

  • Executable and Register event callbacks

    Hi,
    I have been running into an issue regarding the building of an executable that has register event callbacks (specifically Test Stand Callbacks).  The VI that is responsible for setting up the event registration is an asynchronous VI.  During development everything works but during deployment of an executable the Callback is either not running or capturing the event from the Test Stand engine (I am looking for the end of execution event).  The setup is not reporting an error, and the pathing to the callback VIs is correct.  Any Ideas on this?
    Does the Teststand engine not post a endexecution callback when running from a executable labview environment?
    Thanks,
    Andrew

    The TestStand engine is singular regardless of what is hosting the components so it will post the appropriate callbacks. Try some tracing and see what flags up in your callback VI.

  • AQ callback not called in some environments

    Hi,
    I've got a client program that subscribes to a queue, and registers a callback that is called whenever a message is enqueued. This works fine on most computers, but on some computers this callback is never called. I've run it both in debug and release, and the breakpoint in the callback is never hit. On most computer thought, this works all the time.
    This is how I register the callback:
    sub = new Subscription(env);
    sub->setSubscriptionNamespace(oracle::occi::aq::Subscription::NS_AQ);
    sub->setProtocol(oracle::occi::aq::Subscription::PROTO_CBK);
    sub->setCallbackContext((void *)this);
    sub->setSubscriptionName(queue_name + ":" + config["subscribername"]);
    sub->setPresentation(oracle::occi::aq::Subscription::PRES_DEFAULT);
    sub->setNotifyCallback(&messagequeueclient_occi::event_message);
    subs.push_back(*sub);
    conn->registerSubscriptions(subs);
    both subs and sub are class variables, and the callback look like this:
    static unsigned int event_message(
    oracle::occi::aq::Subscription &sub,
    oracle::occi::aq::NotifyResult *nr
    I've tried to examine the difference between the machines, but they all sem to have the same oracle client version etc...
    Any tip would be greatly appreciated.

The breakpoint in the callback function is never called....
    my registering routine now looks like this:
    void aq_connection::create_callback() {
    payload = new Bytes(env); //is this the correct way?
    Subscription sub(env);
    sub.setSubscriptionNamespace(oracle::occi::aq::Subscription::NS_AQ);
    sub.setProtocol(oracle::occi::aq::Subscription::PROTO_CBK);
    sub.setPayload(*payload);
    sub.setCallbackContext((void *)this);
    sub.setSubscriptionName(quename + ":" + config->subscribername);
    sub.setPresentation(oracle::occi::aq::Subscription::PRES_DEFAULT);
    sub.setNotifyCallback(&aq_connection::event_message);
    subs.push_back(sub);
    conn->registerSubscriptions(subs);
    I thought it was ok to create a local Subscription instance, as I put it into the global subs-vector.
    Thanks in advance,
    Sverre

  • Adobe creative Cloud photshop cs 6 register user iam not getting COPY CSS options please help

    iam adobe creative cloud photshop cs 6 register user iam not getting COPY CSS options even i have updated photoshop several times
    still not getting this options please help
    Thanks
    Koushik

    13.0.1 is the last version of Photoshop to run on Windows XP but it does not include the Copy CSS feature.
    The Copy CSS feature was first introduced in Photoshop 13.1 (Cloud only) and higher.

    Photoshop 13.1 does not run on Windows XP. So your operating system is preventing you from upgrading Photoshop to 13.1+.

    If you plan to remain a Cloud member then you will have to upgrade to Windows 7 or Windows 8 (or get a new computer) very soon in order to run Photoshop CC to be released on June 17, 2013.

  • Hi there I lost my password for my original iTunes account I can't recover it because the email address it is registered under is not longer valid How can I access my old account?

    Hi there.
    I did a factory restore and then restored it with iCloud back-up. I have been using lots of Apple products and i have used three different email adresses. Almost all apps restored perfectly but everytime i try to play a song in the Music app, i asks me for a Apple-ID i had no idea i have used.
    Hence:
    I lost my password for my original iTunes account
    I can't recover it because the email address it is registered under is not longer valid
    How can I access my old account?
    Can't find a place to change the email address to my new one without the password which I no longer remember.
    There is no way to just erase Apple-ID's on my device either.
    What to do? Should i ju give up and start from scratch and delete 2 years of stuf?
    Cheers!

    If you can remember the answers to the security questions when you set up that account - I think that you can reset the password without needing email authentication. You can try it here. Read it and see if it's possible. But if you can't remember the answers to the questions it will not work.

    Did you get any help on this? From what I can see from surfing this site, it's a BUG that no one has offered a solution to. It sometimes happens after a 'reset' and going to ITunes does not offer a way to 'set up push notifications'.
