Registering a provider built in java class.

Hi all,
I have done an application in oracle portal which has pages made in portlets. I have used pl/sql and htp packages in this application. I have created a search module in jsp along with java classes. After that I deployed this as a war file in oracle app server 10g. deployment done successfully but when I am registering a provider in oracle portal, it cannot find the java classes. can anyone please tell me how to register a java provider in oracle portal.

You need provider.xml file for that.
WEB-INF\providers\providename\provider.xml
I think you have to make Portlet from your jsp file.
I have only made Struts-Portlets (http://portalstudio.oracle.com/pls/ops/docs/FOLDER/COMMUNITY/PDK/articles/pdkstruts/portletize-your-app.html)

  • How to parse a string in CVP 7.0(1). Is there a built-in java class, other?

    Hi,
    I need to parse,in CVP 7.0(1), the BAAccountNumber variable passed by the ICM dialer.  Is there a built-in java class or other function that would help me do this?
    Our BAAccountNumber variable looks something like this: 321|XXX12345678|1901|M. In IP IVR I use the "Get ICM Data" object to read the BAAccountNumber variable from ICM and then I use the "token index" feature to parse the variable (picture below).
    Alternately, IP IVR also has a Java class that allows me to do this; the class is "java.lang.String" and the method is "public int indexOf(String,int)"
    Is there something equivalent in CVP 7.0(1)?
    thanks

    Thanks again for your help.  This is what I ended up doing:
    This configurable action element takes a string seperated by two "|" (123|123456789|12)
    and returns 3 string variables.
    you can add more output variables by adding to the Setting array below.
    // These classes are used by custom configurable elements.
    import com.audium.server.session.ActionElementData;
    import com.audium.server.voiceElement.ActionElementBase;

  • How can i built a java application using java debug class on Log4J

    Hi,
    As java API support the MethodEntryEvent, using which I can get the automatic logging statements when the method is entered or exited as HelloExample.main(with argument type).
    Where HelloExample is the class name.
    Main is the method entered with its argument types.
    In some cases I have the o/p as
    -- VM Started --
    ====== main ======
    main -- HelloExample
    callerMethod -- HelloExample
    ====== main end ======
    -- The application exited --
    By using Log4J is there any possibility of getting these sort of o/p along with the loggers supported by Log4J. i mean to say can i built an java application which supports the MethodEntryEvent and MethodExitEvent from java API and also uses the Log4J debugging. I took an e.g. trace example, which (in J2SE 1.4.x or 5.x) will be found in $JAVA_HOME/demo/jpda/examples.jar and unpacking it by
    jar -xvf $JAVA_HOME/demo/jpda/examples.jar i found the com/sun/tools/example/trace/Trace.java and passed the class constructed with logger taken from Log4J. In this case the logging message is displayed on the console. As per the requirement i need to transfer the whole o/p to an output file along with Log4J logger statements. in this case i should not give any command in the cosule except compiling and executing the programme. the programm also should able to run without the main() as i need to integrate Log4J with an application and the code must me application server independent. i need the output as i got using MethodEnteryEvent (shown as above) in case of java application built using Log4J.
    Can any one help me in this regard. can any one give me some suggestion or any programme of this sort. All suggestions are welcomed.
    Thanks & Regards,

    hi,
    can someone help me how to implement logging for method entry parameters and
    method exit return value.
    can someone help me how to use log4j and integrate it to the method entry
    logging and method exit logging.
    Here what i need is without writing the log statements for the method entry and
    method exit i need to log it to the file
    along with other log4j debug statements i provide in the file.I should be able
    to configure whether to enable/disable the logging
    for method entry and method exit. In method entry i should be able to log the
    parameters the method take and in method exit
    i should be able to log te return value to the log file, before the method is
    returned to the callee.
    i hope i am clear
    Thanks in advance.

  • How can I execute a java class with arguments from an air application built from mxml?

    I have an mxml application. It has a button, and when that button select event occurs, I want my mxml air app to pass arguments to a java class I have built, which resides in a package path on my system. I need to be able to pass several arguments to my java method from my mxml call. How do I do this, and what config files are necessary? For the simple task I want to engineer, can you show me an example of a properly configured config file? My java class has been executed at the command line in the past as follows:
    java -cp %CP% com.abc.prism.queue.EmitMessage XYZ "my message text" 192.12.13.14 5672
    where %CP% is an env variable that tells my class the classpath it runs with, and XYZ, "my message text", the IP address, and the port are the arguments I must pass from mxml to my java class. How do I accomplish this?
    How do I make known to the java class I call from mxml the %CP% class path? It tells my java class where to find various rabbitMQ jars.

    Hi,
    You need to use Integration technology like BlazeDS or LCDS.

  • What is the best practise to provide a text file for a Java class in a OSGi bundle in CQ?

    This is probably a very basic question so please bear with me.
    What is the best way to provide a .txt file to be read by a Java class in a OSGi bundle in CQ 5.5?
    I have been able to read a file called "test.txt" that I put in a structure like this /src/resources/<any-sub-folder>/test.txt  from my java class  at /src/main/java/com/test/mytest/Test.java using the bundle's getResource and getEntry calls but I was not able to use the context.getDataFile. How is this getDataFile method call to be used?
    And what if I want to read the file located in another bundle, is it possible? or can I add the file to some repository and then access it - but I am not clear how to do this.
    And I would also like to know what is the best practise if I need to provide a large  data set in a flat file to be read by a Java class in CQ5.
    Please provide detailed steps or point me to a how to guide or other helpful resources as I am a novice.
    Thank you in advance for your time and help.
    VS

    As you can read in the OSGi Core specification (section 4.5.2), the getDataFile() method is to read/write a file in the bundle's private persistent area. It cannot be used to read files contained in the bundle. The issue Sham mentions refers to a version of Felix which is not used in CQ.
    The methods you mentioned (getResource and getEntry) are appropriate for reading files contained in a bundle.
    Reading a file from the repository is done using the JCR API. You can see a blueprint for how to do this by looking at the readFile method in http://svn.apache.org/repos/asf/jackrabbit/tags/2.4.0/jackrabbit-jcr-commons/src/main/java /org/apache/jackrabbit/commons/JcrUtils.java. Unfortunately, this method is not currently usable as it was declared incorrectly (should be a static method, but is an instance method).

  • Use of bpelx built-in methods like getVariableData in custom java classes

    Hi,
    how can I use bpelx built-in methods like getVariableData ...
    inside custom java classes embedded with BPEL project?
    I have large java code to embed with BPEL process
    and it will be very useful ....
    It is possible to access these methods like static methods of some class?
    import com.xxx.yyy.class;
    class.getVaribleData("inputVariable","payload","/ns1:mailMessage/ns1:content/ns1:multiPart");
    Regards
    Karel

    you can access them from <bpelx:exec> activity and you can pass these returned document to underlying java class.

    Portal Server allows multiple sources of information, applications, and services to be displayed within a single page or set of pages that the user can view in a browser. The page in which the content is included is known as the desktop. The various sources of content are displayed in rectangular areas arranged in rows and columns within the desktop called channels. A Java class, called a provider, is responsible for converting the content in a file, or the output of an application or service into the proper format for a channel. A number of providers are shipped with the Portal Server including a bookmark provider, an application provider, and a notes provider. As the desktop is imaged, each provider is queried in turn for the content of its associated channel.

  • Java class libraries and class paths

    I'm using NetBeans IDE 6
    I'm trying to make a class library (which is started from another application).
    This is supposed to connect to a SQL 2005 database by first registering the SQLServerDriver from the sqljdbc.jar library.
    I've tried it in an Application with a main class and it runs fine. But when I move the built classes to the folder I want them to run from, I get a ClassNotFound exception for the ServerDriver when run.
    I'm assuming it is a problem with the classpath after I make the move, is there anything special I need to do to keep the classpath intact so it can find the driver?
    Sorry if it's too vague, I can try to clarify things if needed.

    See this NetBeans tutorial:
    http://www.netbeans.org/kb/articles/javase-deploy.html
    These forums provide support for Java programming, not NetBeans (or any other IDE.)
    This question should have been posted to the NB site mailing list.

    Hi Bruce,
    Thanks very much for the insight u provided.Yes one of my public methods was returning
    a element factory.
    But let me ask my question this way:
    Is there a way to tell servicegen to take only the specified public methods in
    a class to make them as webservices?
    by default servicegen is taking all the public methods..,i workaround i found
    is to deploy the webservice manually by writing the web-services.xml to include
    only the required public methods.
    thanks

    Hi Suresh,
    Does your Test.java have a public method that returns the element
    factory of an XML document, like "public ElementFactory

    If so, you may want to check out the supported build-in and non-built-in
    data types:
    http://edocs.bea.com/wls/docs81/webserv/assemble.html#1060696
    Concerning your last question, you can use the excludeEJBs, includeEJBs
    (in combination with the ejbJar attribute) to specify which non-built-in
    data type components should be generated. Or if you use the
    javaClassComponents then simply use a comma separated list of class
    names.
    Hope this helps,

  • Implementing DOM Interface with existing Java classes

    I had planned on using some tree-like Java classes as a Document Object Model, which would give me access to all sorts of XML and DOM tools like parsers and XSLT transformers. Initially, I thought all that would be neccessary is to implement all the DOM Interfaces in org.w3c.dom and then I would have a set of classes that conformed to DOM Level 1. It was my understanding that interfaces such as DOMImplementation and Document would interface with various XML tools, allowing creation of a class that implements Document and then Document would have its various factory methods that know how to create the various DOM nodes such as Element, Attr, Text, NamedNodeMap, NodeList, etc.
    The problem I'm seeing now is that the JAXP specification (which is what the latest Xerces and Xalan tools conform to) has something called a DocumentBuilder and DocumentBuilderFactory that appear to be necessary to tell the framework what type of class to instantiate that implements the Document DOM interface. Those appear to have a lot of methods that deal with parsing of XML documents and I didn't really want to write or even subclass any existing Parsers in order to get the functionality of traversing and transforming a set of classes that implement the DOM interface.
    Am I missing something here? Is it possible to plug in any (set of classes for) DOMImplementation and get them to work with the various DOM and XML tools out there?
    Is there an easier way to allow parts of an application access to internal data structures but have the more generic tools or APIs, such as XSL transformers, access that same set of classes as a DOM with the generic DOM interface methods?
    Can someone provide me with some guidance here? I'm in the process of finalizing some design on a system and need to know if this is possible or if I need to alter my design.
    Thanks.

    If I understand you correctly, I think I am working on a similar issue. I am unhappy with the methods given by the DOM for retrieving data from the XML file and for building a file. Our software has a bunch of code that uses these classes and it is extremely ugly. My solution was to create a facade on top of the DOM model. Essentially I have some simple classes that store all the pertinent info (for me) about the XML structure. Essentially that is the element or attribute name, its values and in the case of the element, it's children. This makes it easier for me to build and retreive the data. What I then built was a loader class and a builder class. The loader takes an XML file and parses it in using the DOM classes and builds a structure using my classes and returns the root element. The builder takes a root element and creates a DOM object out of it. This frees me of having to code around the DOM classes all over the place and makes it simple to upgrade our XML code if the DOM changes or a better DOM is released. I am using factories to facilitate this and allow me to have loaders for specific types of XML documents so that I can have a class for each which further simplifies the XML related tasks of other developers on my team.

  • Legalities of modifying open source Java classes in a closed source App

    If there is a better forum for this thread please let me know. I looked and looked and couldn't find any place where it seemed to fit.
    Simply put, I want to know the legal ramifications of modifying open source Java classes which have been included in a commercial closed source application.
    The specifics are my problem with the javax.servlet.http.Cookie classes interpretation with RFC 2019 in regards to acceptable cookie names. I currently am debating that in a thread here:
    http://forums.sun.com/thread.jspa?threadID=5313146
    I am using Adobe ColdFusion which is a J2EE application server running as a servlet in Macromedia JRun. JRun parses request headers and creates instances of the javax.servlet.http.Cookie class for each cookie. (An error is thrown from the constructor if the cookie name is not accepted)
    I was able to work around the problem by modifying the code in the Cookie class, compiling it, and using jar.exe util in my SDK to update the new class into the jrun.jar file. I blogged it here:
    http://www.codersrevolution.com/index.cfm/2008/7/15/No-Cookie-For-You-Second-Solution
    My problem is I'm not sure if what I did conforms to the license for ColdFusion. Technically JRun is a closed source program I am not allowed to modify, but all I changed was a open source class from Sun. I didn't even need to decompile anything.
    I have Googled in vain, but I can't seem to find any information that applies to modifying pieces of open sourced code contained inside of a closed source application.

    "I thought it was straightforward and I didn't feel that lawyers were necessary. But you didn't seem to want to do that."
    I'm unclear on whether you are implying that I didn't want to hire a lawyer or that I didn't want to read the licenses myself and make a decision. If you meant the former, you're darn right. I'm not paying anyone a dime to satisfy my personal acedemic curiosity concerning a random project I've been messing with in my spare time that isn't related to to any job or business decision. I'm simply looking for information because that's I do when I don't understand how something works. First, I Google the hell out of it and if I can't turn up satisfactory answers (or any at all) I find an applicable forum and ask there.
    If you were implying the latter (that I didn't want to read the licenses myself) then you haven't been reading my posts. I stated to jschell that I have no problem attempting to figure out a license agreement on my own. In fact, I have read the ColdFusion agreement from Adobe before posting here. I talks about modifying the software, but I still don't think it is crystal clear about whether third part code falls under it's own license AND Adobie's or just its own license. Then that is the point at which you must do one of the following
    1. Consult a lawyer.
    2. Decide to allow for a liberal interpretation (thus you can use the code) and understand that you personally are liable if your interpretation is wrong.
    3. Decide to allow for a conservative intepretation to avoid liable on your part.
    Regardless of what anyone says here it won't remove your own liability.
    >
    The source for the java.servlet.http.Cookie class stated that it is release under the Apache license 2.0 whcih I read up on. I will admit I'm not actually sure how to tell the exact verison of the Java Servlet API classes that JRun is built on other than to cross reference which version of the servlet API came out with which version of Java, but that is a suspect method. I have been programming for more than 8 years, but I'm relatively new to the Java landscape.
    I'm not looking for handouts here. I know this was a tough subject and I was prepared for NO ONE to respond and I would have been ok with that. I have no problems making decisions on my own and I have no intention of passing the buck to anybody.
    Here's the thing though. A useful response is one that states some facts (or opinions), references a similar peice of software for comparison, a court case, or provides a few links to some open source-type websites were I might find more information about my issue.
    Telling me to hire a lawyer and chastising me for "pass the buck" is doing about as much good as Linux snobs telling people to RTFM.
    Wrong.
    A lawyer is the best and most correct answer.
    And it is the first answer that should always be given with these sorts of questions.
    If you choose not to accept the best and most correct answer then that is up to you.
    I understand that a large number of people on public forums are lazy sponges who wish someone would just post all the code they need, but assure you I am not that person. I'll admit I don't know much about open source and I'm not sure where to start looking since I seem to have a scenario which is not really discussed much on the web. All I am looking for is information and sincere help.And presumably you also understand that we certainly can't give you legal advice but also it would be foolhardy for you to accept it as well.
    You learn by reading many license agreements and reading as much about legal situations involving computers and related technical cases as you can.
    And until you are comfortable making such decisions yourself without asking then the only useful answer is ask a lawyer.

    Hi,
    ValueHolders are used by the JSF internal framework. To work with an object (attributes) in a managed bean you don't need to make it returning a value holder.
    Create a POJO, provide accessor methods and register it as a managed bean. Access it from JSF with EL

  • Creating data dictionary type using custom java class

    Hi Experts,
    I have a situation involving the TableSorter mechanism as described here:
    In order to do my sorting correctly, I've created my own Java class implementing the Comparable interface. Based on this class, I need to define my own data dictionary type to be used in a context/table.
    However, I cannot se how this could be achieved as standard Data Dictionary elements can only be based on simple built-in types. Any ideas?
    Kind regards,
    Rasmus Røjkjær Ørtoft

    Hi,
    have you tried to use the following steps while creating your attribute
    1) Right click on the context
    2) New->Attribute
    3) Manually-> Provide a name for the attribute
    4) Browse->Select java native type and select your class

    Hi gimbal2,
    My Requirement is i need to run a java class from batch file,when i created batch file in that i need to mention the complete path of the java class,so instead of mentioning that i want to provide only java class name,thats why i asked that one..
    can u help me regarding that....
    Thanks in advanceI wonder how that would work then. Let's take a fictive example. You have a class com.mycompany.myapp.Foo. This would mean that the class is stored in some directory like this:
    c:/webrootdir/myapp/WEB-INF/classes/com/mycompany/myapp/Foo.classTo be able to run such a class from the commandline using Java, you would have to invoke this command:
    java -cp c:/webrootdir/myapp/WEB-INF/classes com.mycompany.myapp.FooHow would knowing the exact path to this class help you?

  • How to return Values from Oracle Object Type to Java Class Object

    Hello,
    i have created an Oracle Object Types in the Database. Then i created Java classes with "jpub" of these types. Here is an example of the type.
    CREATE OR REPLACE TYPE person_type AS OBJECT
    ID NUMBER,
    vorname VARCHAR2(30),
    nachname VARCHAR2(30),
    geburtstag DATE,
    CONSTRUCTOR FUNCTION person_type RETURN SELF AS RESULT,
    CONSTRUCTOR FUNCTION person_type(p_id NUMBER) RETURN SELF AS RESULT,
    CONSTRUCTOR FUNCTION person_type(p_vorname VARCHAR2,
    p_nachname VARCHAR2,
    p_geburtstag DATE) RETURN SELF AS RESULT,
    MEMBER FUNCTION object_exists(p_id NUMBER) RETURN BOOLEAN,
    MEMBER PROCEDURE load_object(p_id NUMBER),
    MEMBER PROCEDURE save_object,
    MEMBER PROCEDURE insert_object,
    MEMBER PROCEDURE update_object,
    MEMBER PROCEDURE delete_object
    MEMBER PROCEDURE load_object(p_id NUMBER) IS
    BEGIN
    SELECT p.id, p.vorname, p.nachname, p.geburtstag
    INTO SELF.ID, SELF.vorname, self.nachname, SELF.geburtstag
    FROM person p
    WHERE p.id = p_id;
    END;
    My problem is, that if i use the member function "load_object" from my java app it doesnt return the selected values to the java class and i dont know why. I use the java class like this:
    PersonObjectType p = new PersonObjectType();
    p.load_object(4);
    There is a reocrd in the database with id = 4 and the function will execute successful. But if i try to use "p.getVorname()" i always get "NULL". Can someone tell me how to do that?
    Thanks a lot.

    CallableStatement =
    "DECLARE
    a person_type;
    BEGIN
    a.load_object(4);
    ? := a;
    END;"
    And register as an out parameter.
