Related with the royalty of the sound tracks

Hi
I have a question related with the royalty of the sound tracks in final cut, I used one of the soundtracks in one of our videos and when we try to upload it to dailymotion, they refuse because they said it has copyright issues, any idea why?
I was with the idea it was royalty free and we could use it, is this true?
Regards

I had a similar issue with youtube a number of years ago.  Seems Apple licensed some samples from APM.  When I uploaded, the youtube censoring software read the copyright metadata and bounced the file.  Had to do a bunch of e-mails back and forth, and finally got uploaded.
If it's part of your soundtrack install, it is royalty-free and you can use it.

  • The Final Cut to Sound Track Work Cycle

Grettings. I was wondering if someone (briefly) would be willing to explain a work cycle through taking a scenes audio into soundtrack, doing something like dubbing, and then getting it back into final cut.
I've watched the video, and read the manual, but there is still one part I'm confused about. Once I exported my video sequences to soundtrack (as a multitrack project) I was able to do our dubbing in soundtrack quite effectivley. However, now I'm not sure what the best way to get the final audio back into final cut is.
One question I have is this: when I exported the sequence to soundtrack pro from final cut, I ended up with a copy of the exported sequenc. Do the changes I make in soundtrack pro update with final cut at all, and if so, is it to the "copied" sequence, or the original sequence? Is this "copied" sequnce the the version I should be using for the master cut of the film? If I make a change to the original sequnce or the "copied" sequnce in final cut, does it appeare in the soundtrack project file? Please help!
In the end, I just need to get the already dubbed audio out of soundtrack pro, and into the sequnce in final cut, and I need to be able to repeat the process for the rest of the dubbing. (Getting it from final cut, to soundtrack, and back)
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks so much guys.

    Hi -
Was there a lot of editing on the nested sequences in the master sequences? Are you on good terms with the sound mixer?
If not a lot of edits in the nested portions, and you are on good terms with the sound mixer: you can use the "manure runs downhill" theory of post production by passing the problem on to the sound guy -
    OMF export the master sequence.
OFM export all the individual sub-sequences.
Let the sound guy sync them up in ProTools. He'll use the master sequence tracks and then switch to the synced subsequence tracks for purpose of the mix. The master sequence will serve as a sync check at those points.

  • How to insert pictures without effecting the audio 1 and sound track

I am new to Premiere elements 10 and I am having trouble when I am moving clips such as pictures into the middle of the timeline between video clips.
When I move a picture directly to the middle of the time line it clips and separates the music I have on the soundtrack.   I found through Lynda.com and Adobe Help that if you hold down the "alt" key while inserting the new picture you will not effect the soundtrack or other tracks.   This issue I have with the alt key is now the rest of the clips in the timeline have the audio 1 track and the video 1 track offset by the duration of the picture that was inserted.  My project is over an hour long so its hard to go back and straighten this out.
What is the best way to handle this???
Adding extra video clips into the middle of the project works great with the alt key because the video 1 and audio 1 moves together.

    Steve,
I did purchase the book and it has been quite helpful.  One more question on pictures.  One page 46 you talk about downsizing the pictures and unchecking frame to scale on page 48.   My computer was crashing after putting in about 1 hour of video and few hundred pictures so I was pretty interested in this suggestion.
When I resize the pictures to 1000 x 750 and uncheck the frame to scale my pictures show up too large on the screen and crops off part of the picture.   Of course if I go to 640 x 480 it looks OK.   I am not really sure what the advantage of unchecking the frame to scale.  It seems like a fail  safe method.
I am using a project setting DV NTSC since that matches my mini DV tapes.
    Question:
    1.   Better to resize to 640 x 480 and uncheck frame to scale?
    2.  resize to 1000 x 750 and leave the frame to scale checked?
    3. Resize to 640 x 480 and change the project setting so future pictures will not be frame to scale?
I just want to have the system more reliable and quit crashing but still maintain the high quality.   I am using a AMD Phenom II x 4  830 processor, 2.8 G Hz, Windows 64, 6 GB RAM.
The first option means I have to reload all my pictures. Changing the size in the same folder with Photoshop process multi files is easy, but I cannot change the frame to size without reloading everything since it was originally checked when I started the project.

  • Invisible graphic curbs on my sounds tracks

    Hello,
I have Premiere CC (with last updates) and now (cause i was on CS6 just before that) on my old and new projects (even those created with CC) i can the see the blocks on my sound tracks but no graphic curbs in it. My sounds (aiif, mp3, wav...) are juste colored blocks with no grpahics in it. I can only see the graphics in ythe preview window but not on the timeline... Does anybody knows how to fix it ?
    thanx
    Julien

Are you talking about the waveform?  Click the timeline wrench and make sure Show Audio Waveforms is checked.  Also go to Edit>Preferences>Audio and make sure "Automatic peak file generation" is checked.

  • Handling Music/Sound Tracks

I have 2 questions regarding the handling of music/sound tracks:
    1) I understand that iMovie automatically creates a 1 second cross-fade between consecutive music tracks. Is there a way to extend this (possibly to 3 or 4 seconds)?
    2) Is there a way to "layer" tracks in iMovie? For example, I'd like to lay down a piece of music and then add a sound effect over top of it, so that both would be audible at the same time?
    Thanks!

    1) I understand that iMovie automatically creates a 1 second cross-fade between consecutive music >tracks. Is there a way to extend this (possibly to 3 or 4 seconds)?
You can certainly do longer fades. Set the Fade to manual and move the slider to (up to) 2 seconds.
It is also quite easy to do a longer cross fade. You just overlap the tracks. To see how, see the video below.
    2) Is there a way to "layer" tracks in iMovie? For example, I'd like to lay down a piece of music and >then add a sound effect over top of it, so that both would be audible at the same time?
Yes, this is very easy to do. Just drag and drop. [This video tutorial might be the best way to explain.|http://www.apple.com/findouthow/movies/imovie08.html#audioclips]

  • Can't get more than one Ultrabeat sound setting in one project. If I have a drum track with an Ultrabeat "downtempo kit" and I make another drum track with "hip hop kit" in the same project, the settings of the other track transform to "hip hop" setting.

So here's my situation.  I'm using Logic Pro 9.  I'm trying to use multiple drum tracks each with different Ultrabeat settings.  So let's say I have drum track with a loop from Ultrabeat that has the "downtempo kit 2" setting on it.  If I make another drum track and create a different loop in Ultrabeat with a different setting, let's say "hip hop kit" for example, and put that loop onto the new track, then the previous loop that I had in the first drum track will still be the same loop but the sound kit settings change to that of "hip hop kit."  So I can have different loops, but they all have to be "hip hop kit" settings or "downtempo kit 2" settings.  I am unable to multiple kit settings.  Is there a box I need to check to turn some automation off or something, because this is pretty inconvinient?  Why do I have to have only one Ultrabeat sound/kit setting per Logic project?

Sounds like maybe you're using the same channel strip on multiple tracks? Make sure you're creating a new software instrument channel strip for each independent instance of Ultrabeat you want to have. If you use the same CS, then all tracks that use it will have to have the same kit.

A relative synced my iphone with his laptop without me knowing. It had a passcode on the phone but the sync still worked. I have since found out he is quite IT knowledgeable and has been known to track other peoples phones that he wants to know information about.  How is my data useful to him and can he restore this data on another iPhone and run it parallel to mine? I have had people send me messages which I have not received. These have been screen shot to me later including time and I have just not got them. I had 4 weeks worth of messages go missing from my phone..I know that he synced my phone because his work laptops I'd came up in my settings. Also if the above can be done can he change the settings on my actual phone and access my location without placing tracking software on my phone.  Can someone please help here as I can't restore a backup to my phone for obvious reasons and refuse to change my number because of this loser.

Connect the device to the computer.
In iTunes, select the content desired to sync.
    Sync.
This is all described in the User's Guide, reading it may be a good place to start.

Are you using a stereo receiver or surround sound system for the audio by chance.  What you are describing sounds like a receiver that is not setup correctly, or does not have the speakers connected to it correctly to support Dolby surround, 5.1 or 7.1.  Which is why it is only happening on some content.  It would only be on the ones that are encoded to support Dolby audio.

  • How to match sound track to movie pictures? (the sound track is shorter)

I have a sound (narrative) track of approx 1 hr which talks about the movie film. However the film I have, is a slightly different version, that is about 10 min longer then the sound track and I would like to restore the match, e.g. by something like cutting the sound track and inserting blanks, or cutting and moving the sound a couple of seconds. Note I'm totally new to Premiere V 10. I presume I would have to use start and end marks in the sound track and place the subsequent sound parts on a new sound (or narrative?) track (but it seems I will need to introduce additional silent parts, I cannot just move (drag?) the next sound track a couple of seconds to the left.
I would guess there are a couple of easy tricks to achieve my goal.
    Thank you in advice.
    Rob Tausk

Well well: not easy nor trivial at all, but I haven’t given up as yet! I’ll describe my workflow below.
    1.       Play video fragment, and comparing film picture and sound estimate position where I need to introduce a silent period and it length.
    2.       By double click play sound “comment track” on the monitor and set end stop (I would actually prefer if the sound track could be zoomed to more easily/accurately find best position)
    3.       Play mute sound clip in preview and set time length with end stop and close preview
    4.       Move mute clip to comment track, which has been shortened in step 2
    5.       Play main sound clip in Preview and set start point
    6.       Move this sound clip to comment track.
But sometime things go slightly wrong, e.g. when moving mute or sound fragment to “comment track” I find that the video track cuts (not intended)
Another difficulty I still need to master is related to the phenomena you mentioned before, related to moving sound clips, parts which were before the starting point show up (e.g. drag edges).
I hope you can roughly follow my explanatory story (I realise writing such workflow is difficult and critically depends on the same use of words concepts definitions and jargon (note my Adobe Premiere Elements is in Dutch).
I’d much appreciate your comments (maybe another software would be friendly to the inexperienced senior citizen)

  • When streaming video from a web site my audio is attenuated differently with different users on the same computer.  withe either user, the sound is very muffled.  all the volumes are set to maximum.

How can I adjust the safari sound volume other than the usual settings in the system preferences?
I am using an apple mac air, updated with OS X Yosemite.   Looking at the same web site video from two different users accounts on the same computer,  the sound is drastically attenuated on one user account relative to the other.
Sound settings in system preferences are maxed out.

It seems that the difference between the sites that will open and the one that won't is the Default Authentication provider is set to NTLM on those that open, and Negotiate (Kerberos) on the one that won't. The Authentication Provider for the Default zone
is Claims Based Authentication on all the sites, just site B (which won't open) is set to Negotiate (Kerberos), the others are set to NTLM.
Short term: can I change the provider to NTLM without destroying the site?
Long term: point me in the direction for setting up Kerberos correctly on my server/farm, as from what I can tell Kerberos is the recommended path forward. I'll setup a non-production test site and get it figured out.
    Thanks much.

  • "A How-To" on the steps to FIX the Problem of NO Sound Card DETECTION with AUDIGY 2 and Win XP

Note#: When restarting the PC each time, shut off the main power switch on the Power Supply then back on.
Note#2: You will need the Windows XP CD WITH the SP2 on it or have the download SP2 Install file from MS on your PC. I have it on CD.
    . Remove the sound Card
    2. Use the Removal/Un-installation Procedures for the drivers in Knowledge Base Under Windows XP Step by step. Restart to get all the files deleted in the Creative folder if necessary.
Here is the (Solution ID#) for the Uninstallaion found in the Creative.com Knowledge Base: SID72 "How to uninstall Sound Blaster drivers and applications?"
Alternati'vely, Click on the Sound Blaster Picture Box under the Knowledge Base Main Search Page and the article should be in the resulting list.
    3. Use the DCProSetup_.exe from http://files.trunetworks.com/utilities/
Use it carefully Selecting [Creative] then Check the box for Muntiple Cleaning Filters, and remove the Creative Audio Drivers by Clicking on Start.
    4. Go into the Registry by Typing Regedit in the Start>Run.. Menu
Navigate and remove the Entry for CTCMSGo.exe, it is running in the back ground otherwise and i believe it interrupts the re-installation of MediaSource Files.
    HKEY_CURRENT USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
The file link/tag, it will be on the right half of the screen, Delete it. CTCMSGo.exe=(Creative Technologies Media Source Go)
    5. Restart the PC, dont forget to switch Power Supply to off while powered down and on before powering back up.
6.Go to the Win XP SP2 CD or the file downloaded, select re-install but choose UPDATE, not New Installation. Let the Install run and update your pc, this procedure has no data loss or settings changes in Windows.
    7. Restart PC
    8. Turn off PC and install the Audigy 2 Card. Then turn on the PC. At this point you might get a plxcore.plx Error of file missing. Not to worry.. copy the file from within the Creative Drivers CD and paste it into the Creative Folder In C:\Program Files\Creative
The Knowledge base Article on the steps is: SID287 "Error: Program could not load because Plxcore.plx cannot be found"
    9. Power up and see if you get PCI Device, and Audio Controller Detetion. If you dont then do the following:
    A) Remove the Sound Card and Re-install the Win XP SP2 Update a number of times ( I did this about 5 times until detection) Each time restart and install the Sound Card into any of the empty PCI Ports until detection.
If that does not work after a number of times try the following:
B)Power off and switch the PCI slot of the Sound Card (to all the PCI slots if necessary with complete power off each time) Without Re-installing XP SP2 Update.
    0. After you get Detection, The Windows Auto Installer for Drivers will pop up..select Find Drivers Automatically, then Install then install the drivers it finds. It will put in some basic Audigy Drivers from the CD or online i'm not sure where it gets them from. Keep your Driver CD in the CD Dri've.
.Restart the PC, then install the Drivers and Media Source Files from the CD (it may not all get installed and may give an error and you have to shut down and re-install the drivers and Media Source over again and over again so it fills in the gap of missing files/drivers until it all works without deleting the previously installed parts).
    2. Only install this update from the File/ Downloads Section on the Creative website: EAX4DRV_AUDIGY2__84_50.exe Dated 29 July 04. The new beta one that was released is what started all my troubles, so plz i urge you to wait for it to be official.. unless you really want to test it out at your risk.
And there you have it.. in 8 Hours and some ideas from friends and relati'ves concerning detection problems of other hard ware they have had i decided to play Roulette all night and this combo works. I had to play Roulette switching the PCI slots (5 of them), and then towards the end play Roulette with the Creative Driver CD install... until they all work perfectly. WHEW!!!
Notice: I hope if you are really ticked off at having no sounds and want to try this at your own risk and responsiblity go ahead, and I wish you luck. None of the proedures are too out of the ordinary. I dont know if it will work for you but it worked for me and maybe it will possibly for other similar Sound Cards as well.. like ZS or Li've! etc. with similar problems. Happy Sound Blasting!!!

Thanks for pointing that out, it was not apparent on the day i used them and wrote the How-To. The links have been replaced with the SID# (Solution ID #) and the title given for the Article.

  • How can I turn off the sound from the original midi  or audio tracks when I turned on the duplicate tracks for editing ?

How can I turn off the sound from the original midi or audio tracks when I edit or listen to the duplicate tracks in Logic Pro 9 ?
I'm using iMac desktop with Mac OS X Version 10.7.3. Pls advise.

    Dan,
It sounds like one of your preferences has changed.
Go to preferences > audio > general, and make sure "track mute/solo" is set to "CPU saving (slow response)". It is probably set to "Fast " at the moment.
This setting (fast) basically causes immediate muting from the channel strip while your song is in play. This is because the audio is still being read from the hard drive, but the channel strip is simply muted.... like a hardware mixer. When set to "CPU saving", the audio from that track, when muted, is actually stopped from streaming from the hard drive, but there is a couple second delay before the audio is actually muted.
One would think that the fast setting is generally preferable, except when you need to do what you are doing. The only way to keep duplicate copies of channel strips acting independent of one another is to leave this setting on the "CPU saving" setting.
    Hope that helps

  • Is it possible to edit spoken dialog without interfering with the rest of the sound?

I'm trying to piece together video clips from various movies, and in one of these clips the character swears strongly a couple times. Normally, I don't bother with this, but my audience is that of a "clean" nature and is strongly against profanity. Is there a way to briefly mute, or change the character's voice when he cusses and not interfere with the rest of the sound? Or is this asking too much?
Also, I looked in the "help" section and couldn't find anything to help me with this. But I have a bunch more questions. Where do I go that will explain all the features of Premiere Elements 8, without forcing me to spend hours figuring it all out and/or posting a billion discussions here in the forums and bugging all of you with my lack of knowledge?

What you are attempting to do requires a bit of work and then some luck.
It sounds as though you have an Audio Clip with both background noise and possibly music, plus dialog. You wish to remove just the dialog in a particular spot, or spots. Is that correct?
If so, then in an Audio editing program, like Adobe Audition, you can possibly extract the ambient sound/music with a Karaoke Effect, or with the application of EQ. This will yield a separate file with hopefully just the background and music, and no dialog. In a Multi-Track Session, place both files on a separate Track. Find the point where you wish to remove the dialog. Here, the workflow might differ, but I'd Cut out the dialog at that point, leaving only the Karaoke Track. To clean things up, when I had done this for each offensive passage, I would go to the Karaoke Track and do just the opposite - Cut out all that was NOT underlying the offensive passages, but leave a bit of that Track before and beyond the deleted dialog. Then, I'd add a Cross-Dissolve for Constant Power to those Karaoke segments to "ramp" the Karaoke Track into the mix, as it will never be perfect, and one wants as smooth a transition, as is possible.
Now, one can do this in other audio editing programs, that offer Multi-Track editing, and also VST plug-ins, or install with Effects like Karaoke and/or Parametric or Graphic EQ's. You could explore the great, free audio-editor, Audacity, and Google for VST's that will enhance its capabilities. Be sure to read the Help files on Audacity, as one does need to do a few things in setup to allow the addition of more VST's.
The work will be with the Karaoke (or similar) Effect, its result and also the frequency ranges of the speaker. That is where the "luck" comes in. Much human speech can be EQ'ed out, or at least greatly attenuated. Now, if you have a crowd talking in the background, or similar, and wish to retain that, all bets are off.
Also, if you only have ambient sounds, and no music, behind the speaker, just find segments of that ambient sound, where the speaker is not talking, and use that to "patch" where you cut out the dialog.
    Good luck,
    Hunt

  • I loose both sound tracks of the last chapter when burning a movie to a disc in iDVD

I loose both sound tracks in the last chapter when I burn a project to a disc in iDVD. The sound tracks are there if I play the movie in iDVD before burning to disc, but as soon as I try turn burn to disc the original sound track & the sound track imported from iTunes disappears in the majority of the last chapter.
I'am using the latest version of iMovie & IDVD.  The project in iDVD is listed as 96 minutes & 3.9GB & I'am using an LG single sided DVD 120 Min 4.7GB
    Any help will be appreciated.
    Mike          (Australia)

    Hi
    May be something here.
    No audio on DVD disc.
    Most common origin.
    1. Imported audio from iTunes.
    • In iTunes copy out as an Audio-CD .aiff (Same as played on standard Stereo CD - no .mp3)
    • Use this in Your movie project
    2. Low - Free Space on Start-up/Boot/Internal/Mac OS Hard disk makes it hard for iMovie to work as intended.
Down to 1.3 GB and it doesn’t work - especially audio don’t migrate over to Media Browser
    (iM’08 & 09)
    3. Material in iMovie’08 & 09 - Shared to Media Browser and here selected as Large
large.m4v. It silenced out this project in iDVD. By making a slight alteration - provoking it to ask for a new Share/Publish to Media Browser and here selecting 640x480 - and audio was back when a new iDVD project was created including this movie.
    Minuscular - - 176x144
    Mobile - - - - - 480x360
    Medium - - - - 640x480
    Large - - - - - - 720x540    960x540
    HD - - - - - - - - 1280x720
    4. Strange audio formats like .mp3, .avi etc.
    • Change them to .aiff. Use an audio editor like Audacity (free)
    5. Main audio is set to off in System Preferences - Does this by it self - Don’t know why
    Cheque Audio-Out resp. Audio-In
    6. Ed Hanna
Had the same problem; some Googling around gave me a kludgy, but effective fix
Downgrade Perian from recent versions back to version 1.0.
That worked for me, and so far I haven't encountered any deficiencies — except it takes more advanced versions of Perian to enable QuickTime to handle subtitles in .srt format — that I have noticed.
    7. GarageBand fix.
In this set audio to 44.1 kHz (Klaus1 suggestion)
(if this don’t work try 48 kHz - me guessing)
    Before burning the DVD.
    • Do a DiskImage (File menu and down)
    • Double click on the .img file
    • Test it with Apple DVD-player
If it’s OK then make Your DVD.
Burn at x1 speed.... (or x4)
    • In iDVD 08 - or - 09
    • Burn from DiskImage with Apple’s Disk Utilities application
    • OR burn with Roxio Toast™ if You got it

  • Exporting a movie doesn't save the sound track

First timer with Garageband so I might be doing things totally wrong. Hopefully someone can tell me where I'm going wrong. Also first time using Keynote. So I make a presentation in Keynote and then send it to Garageband via the File-->Send to option. Garageband fires up and my movie is inserted. Great. So now I want to add a sound track to my movie so I select a Jingle and play it back in Garageband. My movie and jingle play. It's all looking and sounding great. Then I want to export this as a MOV file so I go to Share --> Export movie to disk. I select web streaming as the video setting and hit export. It does it's thing and saves my file out. I play it back in Quicktime and the movie plays but there's no sound track. What gives?

There are lots of options regarding 'Take Folders' if that's what you mean...
Have a look at the Logic Pro User Manual...
