Reminder Message on Assignment to a Group

I'd like to issue a reminder notification when a task is assigned to a group and no action is taken - but this doesn't seem to work. I can get the reminders to function when a task is assigned to a specific individual, but when I change the assignment step to reference a group no reminders occur. Is the product limited to providing reminders only when the task is assigned to a specific user? Is there any work around for this - i.e. perhaps a way of interecepting some sort of reminder event and, within that, creating my own logic to send the notification I require?

I believe (although I haven't tested this) that the reminder is actually sent, but it's sent to the group email. That's an email alias associated with the group itself, rather than being sent to the individual members of the group.
Most LDAP administrators don't bother setting up group email aliases, so you end up with a blank email address, and so no reminder gets sent.
One way to work around this that we've used very successfully is to use a couple of custom componentss that we've built.
The basic design pattern is described here (for LC7, but the principle is the same):

This works a little differently in LC8 - basically, you need to kick off a sub-process just prior to your User step, wait for 10 seconds in the sub-process, and then look up the task in the parent process. (Sounds complicated, but it's actuall quite simple.)
The component to take a group id, and turn it into a comma separated list of email addresses is LookupGroup.

  • Delivery Assignment to Device group in standalone deployment?

    I am using the standalone deployment of SAP AII 2.1. I have the following two queries regarding assignment of deliveries to device groups.
    1. I am able to assign the same delivery to multiple device groups with same business roles as well as different business roles at the same time.
    For example, I am assigning the delivery to a device group that handles tag commissioning and I also assign the same delivery to a device group that handles the loading at the same time. Is this the correct behavior?
    Or is it that once a delivery is assigned to a device group, it should be first processed by that device group or unassigned before the same delivery can be assigned to a different device group?
    If this is the case, then is there any configuration setting in AII that can control the delivery assignment to device groups?
    2. Logically I believe that only one delivery can be assigned to a device group.
    I assign a delivery to a device group. Then I immediately assign another delivery to the same device group. I believe that the first delivery gets unassigned from the device group, but there is no message to this effect
    Again is there any configuration setting for handling this situation?

    What you are deploying is a Client Settings policy, not the client itself. This is akin to a Group Policy Object being linked to an OU. The machines in the collection which already have the ConfigMgr client will process those policies, but additional non-client
    machines added to the collection will not automatically install the client.
    As Torsten indicated, you can deploy the client to these machines using the manual client push method.  Simply right click on the clients themselves (or the collection) and select Install Client.  If doing it at the collection level, I recommend
    against selecting "Always install the client software" in the wizard as it will force an unnecessary repair of the existing ConfigMgr clients. I would recommend testing this on one machine in the collection in question before attempting to do them in bulk.
    Note that this requires that a Client Push Installation account be configured (Administration > Site Configuration > Sites > Client Installation Settings >  Client Push Installation > Accounts tab) which has admin rights on the clients.
    You *DO NOT need to enabled site-wide client push installation* to be able to use the Install Client method in the console. Enabling this will force the client to attempt installation on ALL systems that ConfigMgr sees.

  • ABAP Query : user is not assigned to user group

    i have created user group using sq03 and assigned user name for change authorization in 'assign users and infosets'.
    But when user tries to run query using sq01 system is giving message 'User XXX is not assigned to any user group'.
    I tried every thing but facing same problem.

In some instances it happens so that a tax procedure is assigned to company (Check in OY01) that does not use jurisdiction code but you have maintained settings in OBCL you have maintained settings for tax jurisdiction code for the co code. This mismatch may result in this error. Please check and revert back.

    Hi All,
    I am getting an error "Error in assigning the tax group" and when checking thru BBP_PD, message number BBP_PD, 047.
    When posting a non PO based invoices from IMS this error is appearing however when I am creating same invoice from XML and posting it in IMS, I am not getting any error and able to post it successfully.
    When posting the invoince thru FB60 with same set of data like company code, tax code etc, no errors!!!
    Please let me know if anyone has faced similar issue?

    I am getting the below error:

    We are using simple checkout with only shipping group applicable for order(HardgoodShippingGroup). It seems during some scenarios, ATG is creating one more shipping group of same type due to which I am getting the above error.

    The error is displayed when the withholding tax has been changed in the master record of the vendor or customer. The change has been made after posting the invoice document, then at moment of payment there is a difference between withholding tax information in the invoice and the new withholding tax information changed in the master record.
    In order to prevent the system from the inconsistencies and to avoid the error message, please run report RFWT0010.
    Also, I would like to clarify the functionality of the report RFWT0010. If you have posted a vendor invoice relevant to withholding tax at time of invoice and later you change the master data so this withholding tax type is not longer relevant, this change will not take affect for the already posted invoice, althought you run report RFWT0010. Withholding tax amount at time of invoice is already posted and deducted If you later modify vendor master record and add a new withholding tax
    type relevant at time of payment, you will need to run report RFWT0010 before payment in order to take this withholding tax type into consideration, since it is relevant for payments.

    Hi there,
    i am a newbie to SAP and have some questions to Usermanagement in Web AS ABAP.
    Is it, like in Web As Java, possible to assign roles to groups?
    And could one user be in several groups?
    Or is it possible to sssign groups to groups?
    I want to assign a group to each role and then not changing the assignment of user to role but instead change the assignment of user to groups.

    Ans: Yes, this is also possible. Just go to User Administration on portal and then Groups. There you will find a icon group to another group.
    User Management -> Group - > Assign group to a group.

After maintaining the mandatory field in CRM; we are re-processing the stuck BDOC and again it is getting into the error message with error "A number range is not assigned to account group Sold-to party".
    We have checked the number range and grouping configuration both in ECC and CRM. But still not able to identify the gaps. Is there a detailed step-by-step approach which can be taken up to resolve the issue.

  • Unable to fetch task assigned to particular group from user

    Hi,
         I am usinf BPEL 10.1.3.0. The BPEL is configured to use the Oracle Infra as directory server for providing identity service.
         I have a two group created in oid by name AdminRole and TestRole.Have a one user assigned to each group.
         If i create a new user and assigned to both the role, so any task created for both the group will be visible to new user.
         But this is not happening the new user is not able to view any task assigned to AdminRole or TestRole.
         Any Help Apprecited.

    Hi Dasaradh,
    If earlier issue (Pop message with 60) is not resolved, then it means your Service Constructor is old one. You will see this pop error message when you have more than 60 records to be fetched. The service solution component tables's maximum capacity was 60 only. We fixed the issue later.
    So if you still see this issue, I would suggest you to update your service constructor.
    For later issue [(Unknown Source)Error: Extension ID oracle.aia.codegen.codegenwizard in extension.xml does not match jar filename oracle.aia.aiaserviceconstructor], it looks like your Service Constructor install is not successful.

    Assign Business Partner to iBase Components.
    IMG Path: SAP Solution Manager Implementation Guide -> SAP Solution Manager -> Configuration -> Basic Settings -> Standard Configuration of Basic Settings -> Solution Manager -> iBase -> Assign Business Partners to iBase Components.
    To be able to assign automatically some type of partner to the message transaction, we have to assign those partners directly to the iBase Component.
    So have you been able to do this step successfully?

    How can I send a message to multiple contacts using "groups".
    It was easy on my sony ericssonn....do i need to download an app?

    There is no group send option like you are looking for.
    To send to a group you have to pick each person you want to send to and send as a group that way. Then don't delete that SMS thread and you can reuse it again later.
    As for an app, well SMS works via your carrier and the OS, not something an App can do unless the app send the data to them (a third party) and then they relay it to the carrier. Do you really want to be sending your SMS to some 3rd party first?

  • Policy Assignment to AD Groups

    Perhaps I'm going about this the wrong way, but can someone explain if this should work or not?
    I have ZESM 4.1 IR 1 installed on a Windows 2003 server with a seperate SQL box - all installed and configured fine.
    Created a user source pointing at AD, and have a single OU set up with 2 groups that I want to assign the policies to. When I open up a policy and click on the publish tab, I can expand down the AD tree to the OU and can see the relevant groups I've created.
    If I then add a user to one of the groups then attempt to publish a policy to the group, the ZESM Management Console says "Policy Assignment Complete", however, if I then right click on the agent on the taskbar and "Check for Update", its saying there is "No Policy Update at this time"
    If I assign the policy directly to the user, then it works correctly.
    Am I missing something?
    The reason I want to restrict it to a single OU and specific named groups is because we've had issues in the past with multiple admins in the system overwriting users policy assignments so I want to try and control policy assignments as much as possible.

    Hum, I think you're out of luck.
    At least with 3.5 it doesn't refreshes group memberships once they're added to the DB. So, group memberships are only "read" at directory configuration time. You can try this by deleting and re-creating the directory config once you update the group memberships and see if they publish to the correct users.
    However, I haven't tried this with the current 4.1. Good news are, this issue is addressed in ZCM/ZESM 11, since we'll be using the LDAP configuration that comes with ZCM.
