Remote call to worklist API

Although sample code of remote call to worklist API is mentioned around Ch.16 (P.16-45) in "Building a Worklist Application Using the Worklist Application API", would you mind supplement about how to specify the JNDI in more details.
Thanks in advance.
Best Regards,
Simon.

Yes, That's very helpful.
But, The file "hw_worklist_jndi.properties" is specified in the server, right? Then, my rest of the problem is how to specify the client side?
Say, we have some codes (in client side) as follows:
RemoteWorklistServiceClient client = new RemoteWorklistServiceClient();
client.init();
IWorklistContext ctx = client.authenticateUser("jcooper", "abc");
Then, anything we need to specify before "new RemoteWorklistServiceClient()"? Say, we need to use Locator? And, how? Or, some config file like "hw_worklist_jndi.properties" in client side too?
Thanks a lot.
Best Regards,
Simon.

    Hi,
    Guys any updates...

  • Create orders in CRM with repetitive CRM_ORDER_MAINTAIN remote calls

    Dear All,
    Though we all must have done a lot of playing around with CRM but I am sure that a lot of us would find this as a tricky one. We know that CRM Web-UI framework at the back-end is actually a repetitive, Remote call framework to CRM APIs and SICFs.
    Now I have a requirement to create a sales order for example; I shall provide custom screens on HTML or UI5 and I have to provide a similar experience to user where in the user will add values to fields on the screen and press enter etc. Hence I will initially REMOTELY( Through custom RFC ) call CRM_ORDER_MAINTAIN and create a blank sales order( as done on crm ui framework ) and then on each subsequent enter I want to call CRM_ORDER_MAINTAIN FM with the guid I already have from first call.
    I will call ORDER_SAVE in the end only, to prevent wastage of memory. Also I want to avoid generating new GUIDS at each enter or round trip, hence want to continue with the guid/buffer values of the first call till the save.
    My doubt is in case I remotely call CRM_ORDER_MAINTAIN the second time with the GUID I got in the first call, will the system still have all those buffered values( order_header / guid ) of the first call in the second call or simply saying : will CRM_ORDER_MAINTAIN work in this case even if I pass the guid in subsequent calls?
    P.S : Please don't provide alternate solutions of saving on each enter / new guid generation on each enter.
    /Hasan

    Absolutely my dear friend, I am happy that someone is surely taking interest .
    We have long understood that a jazzy/intuitive UI is always welcomed over a slow/dull UI.
    Wasted guids is a case when you create a new transaction through MAINTAIN but then don't save it, then in the same session you again send a create command( for the same transaction ), new guids are requested from the system when you call MAINTAIN for header, items, partner links etc. and this cycle continues until you save.
    The best practice is not to waste this because a create has a lot of overheads over a change like : create new guids , create time checks etc. Hence CRM architecture is also based on a single create per transaction per session. CRM UI runs on a statefull HTTP session , which is the reason behind the buffers being retained even on repeated RFC/HTTP calls.

    Can anyone please help me

    Actually i'm using Jdeveloper 11.1.1.4 and our requirement is to show list of BPM worklist tasks for the logged in user on the first page and onclick of each task task details page should be opened. I can use Webcenter PS3 worklist taskflow. But i'm not able to customize that taskflow. So, i'm going for Worklist client api.
    I'm able to retrive the taskId,task title and few other details like task payload. But i don't know why the below method is giving exception.
    String url =
    WorklistUtil.getTaskDisplayURL(wfSvcClient,
    ctx, task, null,
    "worklist", parameters);
    And i observed that you have also used the same code for getting Taskdetails url. And one more thing is i'm trying to access BPM worklist which is installed on remote machine.
    Can you tell me what could be the reason for the exception?

  • How to retrieve all the tasks for a UserView with the worklist api 10.1.3.1

    Hi,
    I have defined a custom view for user jcooper. The view just displays all the current uncompleted tasks for jcooper.
    I want to use the worklist api to retrieve all the tasks in the view. I first tried it with the following function call:
    taskQueryService.queryViewTasks(workflowContext,viewName, null, null, 0, 0);
    assuming that the viewId in the corresponding java-doc corresponds to the name of the view..However this doesn't work and the method returns a null reference. So viewId is something different than a viewName. Because I cannot find the corresponding viewId for my view (not looked in the db yet, but I don't want to use these ids in my app), I tried the method:
    client.getUserMetadataService().getUserTaskViewList(workflowContext, Partcipant participant);
    However I did not find a method to retrieve a Partipant instance for jcooper in the worklflow api documentation.
    My question now is if someone can help me out to retrieve all the tasks for a specific view. I should be possible I think...
    Thanks!
    Kind regards,
    -Tom

    The second argument (Participant) was added to handle the use case where one user such as an admin or manager needs to retrieve user metadata of another user (offcourse with the required security checks). We will try to do a future enhancement such that if the pariticipant is passed as null then we will assume the metadata is to be retrieved for the workflow context user.
    For now you can define a simple method to create a participant from a workflow context as follows and pass this as an argument to the UserMetadataService call:
    private Participant createParticipant(workflowContext)
    Participant participant = new oracle.bpel.services.workflow.common.model.ObjectFactory().createParticipant();
    participant.setName(workflowContext.getUser();
    participant.setRealm("jazn.com");
    participant.setType("USER");
    return participant;
    // code to retrieve task list...
    UserViewList views = client.getUserMetadataService().getUserTaskViewList(
    workflowContext, createParticipant(workflowContext))
    ...

  • Optimization in worklist api authentication ..

    Hi i have a question about the worklist api authentication when your using a Remote Client ..
    When you authenticate remotely against identity service, i.e. to later get a task list you write:
    RemoteWorklistServiceClient wlsc = new RemoteWorklistServiceClient();
    wlsc.init();
    IWorklistContext context = wlsc.authenticateUser(username, password);
    I noted that the process of authenticaton it takes a really long time
    (Note:
    a few miliseconds but i have a really loaded front web app working in a oc4j cluster and with a clustered bpel process manager -sharing a dehyd store-),
    my question is theres anyway to share this context between different oc4j instances ? i mean, i can store this context in the session object but i dont know if could be worst, because the session replication of the oc4j instances ..
    and another question is if i stored by someway this context, ill keep open an rmi connection all the time ?
    (i know it depends if dedicated.connection its true but this context keeps using a InitialContext holding the rmiContext ? )
    .. i ask before start decompiling bpel worklist api to get some conclusions :P :P ..
    thx in advance guys if u hace some idea ..
    regards
    Dam.

  • Remote Desktop Protocol Provider API

    Hi,
    This is a duplicate of a post in the Visual C++ forum as I didn't realise this forum existed when I made it.
    I'm trying to implement the Remote Desktop Protocol Provider API by creating a in-proc COM server which contains a IWRdsProtocolManager class.  I have registered my class and can find its CLSID in the registry.  When I call CoCreateInstance from
    a test application, I can create the class and I can see the debug code in my constructor and Initialize method generating some output to a text file.  However if I create a new key or replace the LoadableProtocol_Object value of the RDP-Tcp key with
    my CLSID and then restart Remote Desktop Services, I don't see anything happening.  There are no logs in Event Viewer and no debug output to my file.  I have tried various methods to determine whether it is being loaded, but as far as I can tell
    my protocol provider is never created by Remote Desktop Services.
    Has anyone had some positive experience of this API and could point me in the right direction?  I feel I must be missing something obvious for my DLL not to be loaded, even though I have carefully followed the instructions found here (https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd919947%28v=vs.85%29.aspx).
    Thanks,
    Duncan

    null

    I met that error several times. Check TNS connection from web server box to database server, if applicable. - use tnsping.
    That's the only cause that produces the error. If the web server box has more than one Oracle Home, find the correct one. Check $iAS_home/Apache/bin/apachectl script which will tell you its oracle home directory. It may not use $TNS_ADMIN/tnsnames.ora, but $ORACLE_HOME/network/admin/tnsnames.ora.

    I have a production mobile Flex app that uses RemoteObject calls for all data access, and it's working well, except for a new remote call I just added that only fails when running with a release build. The same call works fine when running on the device (iPhone) using debug build. When running with a release build, the result handler is never called (nor is the fault handler called). Viewing the BlazeDS logs in debug mode, the call is received and send back with data. I've narrowed it down to what seems to be a data size issue.
    I have targeted one specific data call that returns in the String value a string length of 44kb, which fails in the release build (result or fault handler never called), but the result handler is called as expected in debug build. When I do not populate the String value (in server side Java code) on the object (just set it empty string), the result handler is then called, and the object is returned (release build).
    The custom object being returned in the call is a very a simple object, with getters/setters for simple types boolean, int, String, and one org.23c.dom.Document type. This same object type is used on other other RemoteObject calls (different data) and works fine (release and debug builds). I originally was returning as a Document, but, just to make sure this wasn't the problem, changed the value to be returned to a String, just to rule out XML/Dom issues in serialization.
    I don't understand 1) why the release build vs. debug build behavior is different for a RemoteObject call, 2) why the calls work in debug build when sending over a somewhat large (but, not unreasonable) amount of data in a String object, but not in release build.
    I have't tried to find out exactly where the failure point in size is, but, not sure that's even relevant, since 44kb isn't an unreasonable size to expect.
    By turning on the Debug mode in BlazeDS, I can see the object and it's attributes being serialized and everything looks good there. The calls are received and processed appropriately in BlazeDS for both debug and release build testing.
    Anyone have an idea on other things to try to debug/resolve this?
    Platform testing is BlazeDS 4, Flashbuilder 4.7, Websphere 8 server, iPhone (iOS 7.1.2). Tried using multiple Flex SDK's 4.12 to the latest 4.13, with no change in behavior.
    Thanks!

    After a week's worth of debugging, I found the issue.
    The Java type returned from the call was defined as ArrayList.  Changing it to List resolved the problem.
    I'm not sure why ArrayList isn't a valid return type, I've been looking at the Adobe docs, and still can't see why this isn't valid.  And, why it works in Debug mode and not in Release build is even stranger.  Maybe someone can shed some light on the logic here to me.

  • How to call a Web Api from from a Visual webpart code behind?

    Hi,
    I am trying to create a visual web part in sharepoint 2013 with data received from another Web API.
    I followed the below steps.
    1. Created a Visual Web part.
    2. In the code behind(.cs) file I wrote the following code.
     async private void GetResult()
                using (var client = new HttpClient())
                    client.BaseAddress = new Uri("http://localhost:8080/");
                    client.DefaultRequestHeaders.Accept.Clear();
                    client.DefaultRequestHeaders.Accept.Add(new MediaTypeWithQualityHeaderValue("application/json"));
                    var response = await client.GetAsync("api/Tfs/OpenEnquiriesCount");
                    var content = response.Content;
    3. When I run the application, I get security exception in the line await
    client.GetAsync()
    What is the way to achieve this? How to call a web api from share point visual web part?
    Thank you in advance.

  • Presence status not changed when using Lync 2010 Remote Call Control

    Hello,
    I'm currently testing the Remote Call Control functionality of Lync 2010. Call management works fine but I'm surprised that my presence status does not change to "In a Call" when the call is established.
    OriginatedEvent, DeliveredEvent and EstablishedEvent are forwarded correctly to Lync Client 2010. All responses are "200 OK".
    Is there something more to send to Lync Server 2010 so the status of the Lync Client gets correctly updated to "In a Call" ? Or is a plugin for the Lync Client necessary to achieve this ?
    Thank you in advance,
    Martin

    I think there's something missing from your scenario and I don't believe you would need a plugin for this.  It's been forever since I've set up RCC with Lync 2010 however.  I know this isn't what you're looking for, but I've used this product in
    the past to configure Lync and RCC with third party PBXs that don't support Lync/RCC but do have a TAPI interface.
    http://www.estos.com/products/drivers-middleware/callcontrolgateway400.html I've been able to get a free trial before and it worked like a charm for an old 3COM phone system.  If you can get a trial it might help you compare apples to apples provided
    you have a TAPI driver for your PBX.
