Remove '/spl' in the URL Link to a CC&B v2.2.0 Environment

Hi,
In v2.1.0, the URL of the environment (except Tomcat I guess) is like this: http://<hostname>:<port number>/. In v2.2.0, the URL changed into something like http://<hostname>:<port number>/spl/.
What's the purpose of */spl*? Is there a way to supress the */spl/* link so that the URL of the CC&B environment stays the same regardless of the version?

Yahoo is my home page and News, Sports, Business links now shows a few sentences after each main URL link. How do I put it back to show just the URL links?

Yahoo is my home page and News, Sports, Business categories/links changed and now shows a few sentences after each main URL link/topic. How do I put it back to show just the URL links/topics without having to scroll down and down the page. All the extra sentences after the links causes too much scrolling to view the topics.

Those steps did not solve my problem. Here is an example of what I see although it's not exact copy/paste. All I want to see are the links but I get all the verbiage after the links

FM for fetching file type by providing the URL link for file.

Hi All,
We have a requirement to fetching file type of image viz .jpg,.bmp,.tiff by providing the URL link to image.
For example
http://AttachmentWebsite/AttachmentWebsite.aspx?Num=ATT-F19220090818095048&Ext=.JPG&RC=N
Is there any FM to fetch file type from link.

diff URLs. but if they contain the pattern "EXT*=.<extn name>" then the above code will work
else you have to search for all formats.

Fetching details from the URL Link

Hi Experts,
I need a help on the webdynpro, for capturing few details from the url used to call the webdynpro application.
My client has designed the scenario such that,
They have designed thier intranet in dotnet. For accessing the webpage designed, the user has to provide his Employee ID and name.
On accessing the webpage designed for him, he has few webdynpro URL links assigned to him that he can access.
On clicking the link, the Webdynpro application is called for doing the transaction.
Now the requirement is that, for calling the webdynpro application the client is passing the Employee name, Employee ID and the IP address of the thin client system, through the URL link generated by the dotnet framework.
Now I need to know the way how to capture these details into the webdynpro application?
hereby am providing the sample URL by which they pass the values.
http://abcde.industries.co.in:8000/sap/bc/webdynpro/sap/zwda_MB51?uid=1283265&empname=RAMESH KUMAR&tcode=MMBE&ip=192.168.45.118

Dear Vijay,
In your case , your application url parameters are like UID,NAME, IP, & TCODE.
U Can write a method and fetch all these parameters as i shown below:
data: uid type string.
data: name type string.
data: ip type string.
data: tcode type string.
uid = wdr_task=>client_window->get_parameter( 'UID' ).
name = wdr_task=>client_window->get_parameter( 'NAME'' ).
ip = wdr_task=>client_window->get_parameter( 'IP' ).
tcode = wdr_task=>client_window->get_parameter( 'TCODE' ).

Help.....the URL link in iCal stopped working!

I have often used the URL link within an iCal event (Get Info) to click on it to take me to a certain web site. Well....for some reason, I now click on the URLs and they DO NOT work! When I create a new Event, and add a URL to it, it will not work. I deleted the iCal plist preference....did not help. I have searched hi and lo, and can not see any other posts on this problem. Anyone have any ideas on how to get the URL to work?

What is happening to make you think you can't add it in the code where you want to add it? Are you trying to add the Application tag as well, or just the LinkButton? BTW, you might get more help if you post in the Flex forum instead of this one.

HT1937 how do i find the url link from a video i recorded on my ipod

I recorded a video on my ipod touch and i have to send it in to the radio station. All they want is the url link but for the life of me i can't find it on my ipod or when i uploaded it to the computer.

When you connect your iPod to iTunes and select it from the device pane, does it not show the capacity and amount of space being used by music, videos, and apps?
You do not have to sync your entire library to your iPod, you can selectively control what does and does not sync.
No device has the exact stated capacity, this is not specific to iPods. There is always overhead that must be accounted for in the operating system running the device. Also, every hard drive is unique in it's capacity.... could you imagine the disaster of marketing if every package had to accurately (to the byte) reflect the capacity of the device?

Extended Notifications: how to change the URL link

Hello,
We are on ECC6. We use Extended Notifications to alert users to the presence of new workitems, but when they click on the link to execute the workitem, they're presented with the login screen.
We have been able to send emails from workflow which contain a link that does not ask for a login so I know which URL to use. The problem is, how can you set the URL in Extended Notifications? How does it decide which URL to use? I've tried changing a few General Settings in SWNCONFIG, none of them made a difference.
Any hints, tips, suggestions would be appreciated.

I wrote my own notification handler to solved an link issue (wanted to point to a specific iView url). I changed the notification handler via Category and double clicking on the category:

I work with a web app that will not run on Firefox, so I changed my default browser back to IE but the URL link continues to open in Firefox. How can I get it to default to IE?

After changing my default browser from Firefox back to IE, other URLs are defaulting to IE but I have one URL that continues to default to Firefox. This web app will only run in IE so the only way I can run it is to open IE first and then enter or select the URL. Is there a setting someplace that will change the default browser for this URL to be IE?

You can make IE the default browser, that will reset some registry keys 
Control Panel > Internet Options: Programs 
Put a check in the box next to 'Internet Explorer should check to see whether it is the default browser' 
Start IE and let IE make itself the default browser.
Check the default settings in: 
Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs > "Set Program Access And Defaults" (on the left) 
Open: Custom (click arrow on the right) 
Select "Internet Explorer" under "Choose a default Web Browser" 
Click OK

Removing jsessionid from the url

Hi All,
While i create a Webdynpro iview from SAP Webdynpro iview template, the generated url gets appended with the parameter jsessionid as shown.
http://server:port/webdynpro/dispatcher/local/session/New_app;jsessionid=(J2EE14778100)ID1600385450DB11689045888563713719End
I don't want this parameter to be appended and exposed in the url of the ivew. Is there any way i can hide/remove this parameter from the generated url?

Hi Maksim,
Firstly, There is no such parameter for Webdynpro iview in EP 6.
Secondly, this parameter is available for Webdynpro template in EP 7, but even on setting it with jsessionid, the problem remains. jsessionid is still appended in the URL.
Please help me with any other possible ways.

APEX 3.0 Displaying the URL link for a column value ( only when not null )

Consider the example :
I have the following table with a column that may have urls to documents
Row Column ( url_column )
1 http://xyx.com/doc/doc1.pdf
2 http://xyx.com/doc/doc2.pdf
3 (null)
How do i display the column so that a the link shows up only if a value exists.
Setting the URL to #URL_COLUMN# in the 'Column Attributes' screen creates a problem when the value is null ( for Row 3 in above eg.)

Remove or configure the help link

Is there a way to remove the "help" link in the top right corner of OBIEE? The customer does not want it there as it leads to Oracles documentation page that is not in the language they want it. It would enough if I can prevent it from being displayed when the end user view a dashboard or if I just could reconfigure it to lead to a custom page. Any suggestions?

Removing "servlet" in the url

Hi all
I am developing a website using JSP/Servlet (Tomcat 4.0 + Oracle 8). I found whenever I need to access a servlet, I need to append "servlet" in the url. for example (my context in Tomcat is app/)
http://localhost/app/servlet/Test
So far I am using "servlet-mapping" for each servlet in web.xml.
 <servlet>
 <servlet-name>Test</servlet-name>
 <servlet-class>Test</servlet-class>
 </servlet>
 <servlet-mapping>
 <servlet-name>Test</servlet-name>
 <url-pattern>/Test</url-pattern>
 </servlet-mapping>
But this idea cannot generalize since I have many classes.

You can do it one of two ways:
1. Insert some CSS that will change the target to "_new".
2. Change the field that the user enters information in to a single line of text, then create a calculated column that is:
=CONCATENATE("<a href=",[URL Field]." target=new>Click here</a>")
Format that as a number.
