Removing commas from report result

Hello gurus,
Is there a way to remove commas from data values in the BEx reports?
I used NODIM() to remove $ signs and units. We need to remove the commas as well.

hi,
in query properities you should have option to show unit on the top of column only and in key figure properities should be option to choose how many decimal spaces you want to be visible on report (this option you have in rsa1 -> infoobjects -> your key figure -> BEx reporting tab)

Remove hashmarks from report

Is it possible to remove hashmarks from reports? Users want to have empty space in empty cell, but not the "#" sign.
I did not find any settings etc. to remove hashmarks, I even tried to replace initial value by space in update rules, but Analyzer is clever enough to recognize spaces and replace them by the "#" too. This is really terrible.
VB script does not fit in that case as users use Web Analyzer reports.
Does any solution exist on that problem?

Setting in TCode RSCUSTV4 would take out the # across all reports in BI, if thats what you want.

How to remove dimension from report

Dear All,
I have created a report using Drag and Drop option as explained in the following link with 2 dimensions in rows and 1 dimension in column. Now I would like to remove one of the dimension from existing report. As explained in the below link I could not able to see the option called Remove Dim from design mode as well as preview mode.

SAP Help: To remove a dimension, right-click on the dimension name block and select Remove Dim. You can remove dimensions only when more that one exists on either your columns or rows.
Please, can anybody shed some light on this issue.

I have tried this drag and drop option. But the problem with this option is existing format is getting disturbed and some junk values appearing in place of removed dimension.

Removing commas from on address line!!

I need to remove comma's from an address field:
substr(s_claim_periods.latest_prop_addr(CLAIMS.cla_refno),1,255) AS D,
i have tried my usual method of
translate (CONTACT_ADDRESS, ',' ,' ')
but im having problems incorporating it with the substr command!!

you could also use replace
replace (adr, ',')as in
SQL> with test as
2 (select 'address,address,address,address,address' adr from dual
3 )
4 -- End of Testdata; here is the actual query:
5 select adr
6       , replace (adr, ',')
7    from test
8 /

Remove material from search results

Is anyone aware of a way to remove a material from search results? I have a large contingent of materials that are no longer valid for sale and the search results create a lot of clutter. I need to retain the records for historical sales transactions but since there is no stock and the materials are discontinued, they don't need to be displayed on search.

You can do this through customising: SPRO > Logistics - General > Material Master > Tools > Maintain Search Helps
There, give double clicl to the "Search Help" = MAT1_A.
Then, select the tab "Include search helps" and select the search where you want to add a field. i.e. MAT1V - Material by Supply Area.
Once you are there, check if you can add the field LVORM - DF at client level.
Then, save the data and in this search you can have the option to see all the materials deleted or not deleted.
By the way, Narla Rama Krishna Mohan has a document about "Material Master Search Help" and it can help you too.

REPLACE statement removing commas from a money convert... I do NOT want it to do this

I am using a case statement to remove the '-' from a negative number and place a '(' there instead.
The negative side of the CASE statement is as follows:
REPLACE(CONVERT(varchar, CONVERT(money, SUM(Begin_Balance)), 1), '-', '(') + ')'
The positive side is:
CONVERT(varchar, CONVERT(money, SUM(Begin_Balance)), 1)
The data output for the positive portion is 100% correct. Here is an example of the output I receive.
(18271.15)
(25000.00)
82,490.00
45,000.00
Why is the replace statement stripping my commas?

So many horrible fundamental errors in one sentence!
1. CASE is an expression, not a statement. An expression returns a scalar value of a known data type, A statement changes the schema.
2. In SQL, all display formatting is done in a presentation layer, never in the database.
3. We use the ANSI/ISO Standard CAST() and not the old Sybase/Unix CONVERT today
4. We use DECIMAL() and not the old Sybase/Unix MONEY. This thing does not work; it fail to do correct math; Google it! Do a data audit and see if you can go to jail for this.
5. SQL is not COBOL. The COBOL language treats all data as strings. STOP DOING THAT IN SQL! This language uses abstraction in the database and the presentation does the job that your old PICTURE clause used to do.

Removing Comma (,) from Year Formatting

Hello,
I'm attempting to generate a text string that corresponds to a given year. However, when I convert to text from the number format, the result includes a comma:
the date's year = Text(ExtractYear(today's date)) -> "2,011"
1. Does anyone know how to prevent the comma in the text attribute, so that I'll get "2011" rather than "2,011"?
2. Similarly, I'd also like to know how to format the decision report so that the number variable (the output of 'ExtractYear') also does not appear with a comma.

This has been raised internally as OPAD-4226, so we are looking at it for a future release.
This is a formatting issue - ie. all numbers are formatted as if they are actual numbers, but of course years have their own convention. A custom format (eg. in Web Determinations) could format without the comma but it would apply to all numeric attributes. Custom code could also be used to apply the non-comma format only to certain attributes you specify, but it's not an out-of-the-box option.

Remove symbols from Report Painter Report

Hi all,
We have a report painter report. The amounts in the report are displayed with a " * " symbol, probably due to the amounts being added.
We would like to remove the " * " symbols from the columns. How is this possible.

I guess the column size is too small to display the whole amount. Enlarge the columns in the layout options in report painter.

I have a string something of this nature
Sting : ',3456,45454,,45454,'
Need to have just comma seperated value : '3456,45454,45454'
Tried with replace but getting - '34564545445454'
select replace ( ltrim(RTRIM(replace(',3456,45454,,45454,', ',,', ','),',')),',', '') from dual;

If so:
LTRIM (string, ',')LTRIM removes the given character(s) from the <b>L</b>eft side (that is, the beginning) of string. That's all you want here. (Was your string generated by SYS_CONNECT_BY_PATH? This is a very common problem.)
RTRIM removes the given character(s) from the <b>R</b>ight side (that is, the end) of string. I don't think you want that; you certainly don;'t need it in the example you gave.
REPLACE removes the given characters anywhere in the string. You definitely don't want that. If you did, there would be no point in also using LTRIM or RTRIM.

Check whether TRANSLATE statement works for you
TRANSLATE xvbap-kwmeng USING ', '.
In single quote use comma followed by a space after that use CONDENSE xvbap-kwmeng NO-GAPS.

How to remove commas from number in Bex analyzer

Hello gurus,
I am having a requirement where i need to show the number without separating with commas. for example 23,34,780 as 2334780 in the report for a particular column only. I know that it is possible using the macros but i am unaware of the VB code.
I have created the same using the BEX Analyzer of BI 7 by creating the workbook and maintaining the properties for that columns. But right now i am working in BW 3.5 when i tried the same in this i am getting the run time error and disconnecting from the SAP.
So now i have decided to go with the Macros pls help me with the VB code.

     Our Requirement is that from the output of a web report we have to download the data to a excel file. From Excel,data will be loaded to SAP-R/3.
    In Web report, Amount filed value is for eg: 12,345,67.00. People who load the data to SAP-R/3 require Amount as 1234567.00.So they r asking the amount field without commas in the web report.
   this is exactly my requirement.

Remove fields from report painter

Hi,
I try to create a z transaction code for my report which was built using the report painter tool. I got additional fields like read mode, print report and rebuild frozen report data on the selection screen. How can I remove these fields to make the selection screen identical to the one when executing in report painter tool? Please help!

Hi,
You can change the transaction type:
Goto SE93 --> Click Change --> In menu bar click on Edit --> Change Transaction type --> Select program and selection screen (Report Transaction) radio button and Save.
Also make sure that you have selected all the GUI support check box.
Activate the transaction and execute.

Results in Query Builder Differ From Report Results

I've got a report I built in SSRS using an SSAS dataset. The problem is that the results differ between the query builder result set and the actual report. For some reason, when running the actual report, certain rows are being filtered out, but yet those
same rows appear in the result set when validating the query in the query builder.
Here's the result set as it appears in query builder:
...and here are the results of the actual report:
As you can see, 3M and Angie's popcorn are not returned in the report. I have no filters defined on the report at all.
This appears to be happening with other result sets for the same report.
No idea why the results are accurate in query builder and then off in the actual report.
Any help would be appreciated!

The issue may be caused by the data cache. When we preview a report, the report processor runs all the queries for datasets in the report using the current parameter defaults, and saves the results as a local data cache (.rdl.data) file. We can continue
to design our report without incurring the overhead of retrieving this data again if we make no changes to either the report dataset queries or the report parameters. Please to delete the cache (.rdl.data) file try to solve the issue.

Alternative, you can create a similar report to check if the issue is persist.

How to remove links from report in dashboards

Hi All,
In guided navigational reports how to delete links under the report that displays in the new window(like modify, refresh,print links) in dashboard.
Example -

Return Modify Refresh Print Download(want to remove the links in Bold).
