Removing components from a J panel Help?

I have a J Panel which has on it a stack of 10 components which are composed
of either jComboboxes or textfields. Duridng program operation I need to clear the panel and then
add the components again in different locations depending on user selection.
Problem is I can't seem to get rid of the comboboxes. I am trying a removeAll and then
reinitializing/rebuilding with all text fields but the combobox won't go away.

Even if I just do the removeAll the underlying panel jPanel2 does not clear itself completly
jPanel2.validate();
jPanel2.invalidate();
jPanel2.doLayout();
Nothing seems to work yet

You can try remove () and then call repaint, unless you've done that...

Remove Components from Library

I'm new to Catalyst, so this might be a stupid question.
I created a bad datalist and as soon as I realized my error I deleted it from the Artboard, but it is still in my Library. Now every time I run the project I get an alert that says that DataList1 is missing a required part and will produce an error.
I don't need DataList1 and I'm not really interested in fixing it. In the current build of the application, is there a way to just remove this component from my library so that I don't have to deal with the error anymore?

Currently you cannot remove components from the library panel, but this is something we are working on. There is a temporary solution though: switch to code view and you'll see a panel on the right side of the screen that shows all the files in your project. In the components folder there should be a DataList1.mxml file. Right click on it and choose delete.
Note that if you follow the above steps and delete a component that is used elsewhere in your project, your application won't compile.

If you add an item to a slideshow, you'll usually see 2 entries for that image in the assets panel - one represents the thumbnail, and the other represents the larger 'hero' image.
It sounds like you may have added the same image to your slideshow twice. You can select one of the hero images or thumbnail images in your slideshow and use the delete key to remove it. Then the extra 2 entries in the assets panel should disappear.

Problem removing components from JLayeredPane

Hi all,
I have a problem showing and hiding components on a JLayeredPane. It goes Something like this:
In my application I have a button. When this button is pressed I use getLayeredPane to get the frames layered pane. I then add a JPanel containing a number of labels and buttons onto that layered pane on the Popup layer. The panel displays and funcitons correctly.
The problem comes when I try to remove the panel from the layered pane. The panel does not dissappear and I am no longer able to click on anything else in the frame!
If anyone has any ideas how to get around this or what the problem might be I'd be very greatful to hear it. Sample code follows:

The problem is you only removed it within the program, without actually removing it from the display. If that makes any sense, or whether thats your problem at all.
If you are only using this line.
mLayredPane.remove(mPanel);
I think if you tell it to repaint and revalidate it should work, though i have never used LayeredPane.
mLayredPane.repaint();
mLayredPane.revalidate();

Updated iTunes and now can't remove songs from my iPod - please help

I've updated iTunes to version 11.0.0.163 and have an iPod Nano 16gb 5th generation.
In iTunes, I'm no longer able to manually select songs to remove them from my iPod - I can't even see the list of music that's on my iPod. The only option it gives me is to sync, and I don't want to do that. Before I upgraded iTunes, it was easy to move music between my iPod and iTunes, now I can't - what's happened?
My iPod is full so I want to remove some music, not all of it. Any advice? Please help - I'm going round in circles!

itunes will now look more like itunes 10.
You can click on your device in the lefthand window as before
You may prefer to use the Music Sync page to select or deselect Playlists, Artists, Albums etc and click apply.
Delete your files is enabled by ticking the Manualy manage music option on the Device Summary page. You may have to scroll down to find it

Missing editing components from my effects panel

I just started using my Premiere Elements software on a Mac after having first used it on a PC. I am trying to edit something and noticed that many of my keying effects are missing from the effects panel. How do I find or restore them? I need the keying effects for green and blue screen but all thosse are missing. Please help. Thanks!

Although the operations of Premiere Elements Windows and Mac are very similar, there are differences.
One of the differences is in the keying effects, such as Chroma Key, Green Screen Key, and Blue Screen Key. Many will steer you in the direction of Videomerge as a possible workaround. Not one of my favorites. But, you can check it out to see if it works for you.
Please take a look at my blog post on the use of the Difference Matte as a possible replacement for the keying effects not present in Premiere Elements Mac. This blog post would apply to Premiere Elements 11 as well as 12.

How do i remove itunes from the control panel?

Hi all,
i have spent the past few weeks browsing these forums and others trying to find a solution to my problem. I am trying to remove all traces of the itunes program off my computer so that i can download the new copy. I have tried uninstalling itunes, bonjour, apple mobile support, quicktime, apple software update and apple application support and all but the itunes successfully uninstalled, i deleted the program files off my (C:) drive including the itunes program files but itunes still comes up in my control panel and when i click uninstall the uninstaller window pops up and says "preparing to remove" but then nothing happens, and when i click repair it says "preparing to install" but once again nothing happens, i have tried disabling all firewalls and antivirus and running the iTunesSetup.exe as an administrator but the same window pops up and says "errors occured during installation before itunes could be configured."
Someone please help me to solve this?

The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.
The further information area has direct links to the current and recent builds in case you have problems downloading, need to revert to an older version or want to try the iTunes for Windows (64-bit - for older video cards) release as a workaround for installation or performance issues, or compatibility with QuickTime or third party software.

So upset, I hit "okay" on dailydealspanel and need held removing it from my iMac. Help!

I hit "okay" button thinking that I could bypass the Dailydealspanel that said I won an iPad 2. I know better than that. I turned off my wi-fi. Restarted. Re-opened Safari. DailyDealspanel still pops up. All my options in Safari are in grey. Can anyone help me solve this problem?

Force Safari to quit by clicking on the desktop background and selecting (Apple menu) > "Force quit..." > Safari from the menu bar. Then relaunch Safari by clicking its icon in the Dock while holding down the shift key. That will prevent the rogue page from reloading. Then select Safari > Preferences > Privacy > "Remove all website data."
To keep this sort of thing from happening again, select Safari > Preferences > Security > "Block pop-up windows." If that's not enough, consider installing the ad-blocking proxy GlimmerBlocker.

Since iPhoto maintains all of the photos in a database on the Mac, you are going to have to export all of the photos from the library to straight files. Then depending on what you are going to use for storing your photos on the Windows PC you will have to impart the photo to that product.
I would not do anything with the external disk drive (EDD)with your Time Machine backups until after you know that your migration to the Windows PC has been completed. You never know when that important files that you absolutely must have will crop up.
When you get your Windows PC get an EDD for it and format it as exFAT. Then connect the EDD to the Mac and copy the exported photos to the EDD. From there you should be able to import them to the software you will use on the Windows PC.

I was prompted to download the latest version of MSN Chat. Just one click and the whole package was installed on my computer... The toolbar...and my search engine got replaced by Bing. I've uninstalled both the toolbar and the MSN Chat from my laptop. The toolbar and Bing are still on, however. This also results in the dysfunction of my Firefox. My first Firefox window carries the text "Well, this is embarrassing." and the details which you probably already know. It takes opening the second window for Firefox to work. How do I reverse these conditions? Thank you for your help.

Removing Components from display

Hi,
I have a JPanel with a number of JLabels inside.
All visible on the screen.
I want to remove all the JLabels (permanently), so I call:
jPanel.removeAll();
jPanel.validate();Yet the JLabels do not disappear from the screen.
Any ideas on this appreciated.
