Repeat Suppressed Value after Page Throw

I'm new to BI Publisher and have what I think is a simple problem that I can't solve and can't see a solution to in the forum so any help would be welcome.
I have a report which is essentially a simple, long table with three columns. The report is grouped by the first column, so that the value is suppressed after the first display. When the table breaks across a page the heading repeats fine, but I need to show the grouped value again on the first line. Is this possible?

How to retain value in LoV item in Tabular Form, after Page Refresh

Hi,
I have a tabular form, which contains 2 items(columns), of type "Select List - named LoV".
Now, 2nd item(column) in tabular form, that LoV should get populated based on user's selection value in first item LoV.
1. So how do I refer to the value, that user selected in first item's LoV? I will have to use this value as reference in LoV query of my 2nd item ( on this tabular form)
2. Everytime I select value in first item LoV, page gets refreshed, as my requirement is to calculate 2nd item's LoV based on selected value in first item. So after this page refresh, first item LoV loses its value that was selected before the page refresh happened. So how do i retain this value in first item LoV? I have an unconditional process, that on every submit(refresh) of page, I set all my items with their corresponding values. But problem is what do i mention there to refer to this first item ( of type LoV) of tabular form?
I looked in view source of my page, this item is referred as f03.
So i used "apex_application.g_f03", to set this item to its value, in my uncoditional submit process. But it did not work. I tried to refer this item as "f03" in this unconditional submit process. But still it did not help, the selected item loses its value after page refresh(submit).

Hi Rave,
You will have to use Javascript and Ajax to change the values as ApEx submissions will lose your results unless they are saved into the database.
Remember, that as you are using a tabular form there will be lots of items called f01, fo2, fo3 etc on the page (one per row).

Repeating field values per paage in Master Detail Report

I know there are lots of threads about repeating fields values across pages but not seem to work that I have tried and I was looking for a simple resolution to my problem.
I have a master detail report like:
Deptno: 10 Dname: Accounting
Empno Surname Job Sal
1234 Smith Clerk 1000
1235 Jones Clerk 1200
Deptno: 20 Dname: Research
Empno Surname Job Sal
2234 Smith Clerk 1000
2235 Jones Clerk 1200
etc. The employee data is displayed in a Word table.
Now if I use the standard emp/dept tables (with only 14 employees) the report paginates properly and I see one department per page and the corresponding employees per page. I have used the <?split-by-page-break: ?> tag. A sample of the rtf file is:
<?for-each:dept?>Dept: <?deptno?> Name: <?dname?>
TABLE of EMPS (via insert -> table ->advanced etc)
<?split-by-page-break: ?>
<?end for-each?>
Everything works fine but if I then apply a larger xml file to this rtf where the number of employees spill over onto another page the deptno and the dname do not print before the table when I want them to.
I have tried putting things into Word headers, using the <?start:body?> tag and a couple of other ways (like @section). Could someone be quite explicit about the steps I need to follow (rather than just say put it in a header) to make sure that if the employees spill over the page the deptno and dname will display. I don't know if its made more difficult because I have multiple departments but any help would be appreciated.

I sent a template to Chris who was able to solve the problem.
The change that he made was from:

That is, he used the start and end body tags and the section attribute and took out the <?split-by-page-break: ?> tag. I put back in the split page tag on the template he gave me but it gave me an extra page each time the department changed. So maybe you can really only use one of the other.

Error -Suppress repeated key values

Hi All,
After executing query in bex , I am doing filter on Fiscal year .I want to show repeated key values.
When I go to query properties-display options -Supress Repeated key values is checked.
I unchecked it and pressed Ok button , It says program error in class SAPMSSY1 method.system error in program CL_RSR_REQUEST and form CHANM_SETTINGS_SET.
Please suggest .

Did you manage to get anywhere with this we have the same issue when trying to suppress zeros on a workbook, interestingly (or not ) The error doesn't occur if I run the query the workbook is based on?

How to keep up the session state values uncleared after page submit

and 11g
i have created a tabular form manually useing apex_items.

after the page is submitted it returns to same page,
i want the apex_items's text fields to retain the submitted values after returning to the same page

How to deselect query property 'suppress repeated key values'

In BEx analyser there is a query property 'suppress repeated key values' which can be de-selected.

Is simple.
In BEx query designer push the button designated by "query properties" (the 13 button from left to right).
Go to the tab "Display" and mark the second option "Hide Repeated Key Values"
And there you go.

Undo Suppress Repeated Key Values

Hi,
My reports need a format whereby all repeated key values appear on the report and not be suppressed. I have unchecked the query property and when I run it as a workbook, it works fine and as expected. But when I publish it in the portal or run the query through the web browser, it hides repeated key values. I read the forum and found out about the Web item value change in the Web table. I have informed my portal guy to look into that table and make the change if it makes sense to him. Here as a process, we cannot use WAD and change the look and feel of the report.Everything follows a standard portal look and the portal guy uses the technical name of the query to publish it.
Is what I want to do possible? If yes, am I missing something here that I can try out in the meanwhile?

Suppress Repeated Key Values in EP

Hi Experts,
In BEx, i am able to "Suppress Repeated Key Values" via Query Properties > Display Options.
However, when i execute the same report in EP, and in the context menu (right click) of the query, choose Enhanced Menu > Query Property, there is no option for "Suppress Repeated Key Values". Why is this so? Is there a way for such?
My client is requiring it, but their access is limited to EP.
Kindly, provide assistance.

In the WAD, if you use the properties pane web item and set data binding to the analysis web item, when you run the report on the portal you should see the settings of the analysis (table), under Data Specific setting you can toggle the "Display Repeated Texts" option, this functionality is also available in the setting link in the 0ANALYSIS_PATTERN default web template.

Show Repeated key values in Reports and Export Into Excel

Hi Experts,
Currently I am working on the BW3.5 version. Our client requirement to display the repeated key value in web and export same into excel. I have followed the steps in web template which mentioned below to achieve the requirement.
1) In my web template, add the following line to the Template Properties object tag (the tag at the very top of the web template in HTML mode):<param name="SUPPRESS_REPETITION_TEXTS" value=""/>
After the change web template change, Myself execute the report in web, Its fine web. But I export into excel, again the key values are suppressed. So I have followed the steps in query. Then its fine. I mean, I can export into excel with repeated key values.
2) In my query, in Properties and on the Display tab, unchecked "Hide Repeated Key Values".
But do we have any other option without changing query properties to achieve the requirement.. I am fine with the web template change("SUPPRESS_REPETITION_TEXTS"). But I do not want to change the query properties.
Please help me to fix the issue. Thanks in advance.

Suggestion:
You can do exactly what you want, but it will take either a button changing the properties of the web item or a javascript function added to the context menu getting the properties of the table item and changing it to "X" or "". These are just two examples, there are other ways to do this. This is the actual code that sets the suppression for the repeated texts. Hope this helps.

How to execute a method after page Load?

My question is very similar to what was discussed in following thread:

My requirement is that I want to run a method in backing bean of a page, immediately after the page gets loaded. In that method I want to invoke one of the method action included in the pagedef of this page, conditionally.
I tried using the approach given in the above thread, i.e to use <f:view afterPhase="#{backing_security.setPermPriv}">, but the problem is that our page is not using 'f:view' , so I explicitly added one f:view with afterPhase property set , but it is not working, page it self is not getting loaded, it is throwing the error:

I assume that your view is a page fragment and here - indeed - the f:view tag cannot be used. If you use ADF then one option would be to use a custom RegionController on the binding layer to listen for the render phase to invoke the method. Another option would be to use a hidden field (output text set to display="false" and have this component value referencing a managed bean property. The managed bean property's getter method can now be used to invoke the method you want to run upon view rendering

How to get another page item value in page process.

Hi all
i have an after submit process on page 32 to insert into a table.
and a page 34 where there is a region containing from page 32.
when page 32 get submitted (process as well as) it contain no value for :P34_USER_ID although i am in page 34 and :P34_USER_ID item have value.
after submit process on page 32 Type: PL/SQL anonymous block --> have code like...
INSERT INTO LETTER_ATTACH (LETTER_ID,FILENAME,ATTACHMENT,MIMETYPE,UPDATE_DATE)

Adobe Form Repeat a Subform Every Page

Hello Adobe Forum,
I'm an SAP user and am creating an Adobe form (my first). I posted this in an SAP forum, but have yet to receive any feedback whatsoever so I thought it may be better to go to the Adobe experts themselves. I've run into an Adobe issue and am just spinning and spinning trying different techniques to make it work. Any hints would be greatly appreciated.
In my content area I have three subforms. The first subform is positioned, the fields have to be placed correctly. The second subform is fundamentally a table header for the third subform, which is the rows of the data. All three subforms are wrapped in another subform that is flowed.
Why would I do it like this? Well, the table in the third subform has control levels so it merges like rows nicely in this way when the first column rows are the same...
So the first page of my document would look like this...which is what I want.
H is repeated for every page. So it is on the Master page. That's easy.
1 is the 'sub-header' and should only be on the first page. This works.
2 looks like a header for the table, but is really it's own table because of formatting requirements and the values are dynamic. It looks nice, but shows up only on page one.
3 is the data table. It works great too.
Page one looks great. Page two looks like this... I can't get part 2 from above to repeat for every new page.
I have tried numerous approaches, but nothing seems to work. I really need to stick with the control levels, and that keeps me from having one nice table with a header that repeats. Perhaps I've approached this fundamentally wrong?
Here is my layout in case that helps at all explain my issue. I truly appreciate any help, this is the last hurdle on my form and then it's done. I'm sure a seasoned Adobe person may quickly see the err of my ways.

Not a solution I'm very fond of, but it works. I created a second page and put the table header on the master page there and moved the content area down a bit. I'd still like to force the subform to simply repeat, but I've got to move on.

Hi,
I could not able to show a scalar value in Page Header/Group Header of the report which is returned from Sub-report. But I am able to display it in both Group Footer and Page Footer.
I used shared variable in formula filed of both main and sub report and both are placed in the main and sub-report.
Please do needful.

You can only show Shared variables in main report in a location after the subreport has executed.
If you want to show values in page header or group header you must place subreport in a section above these. This is unlikely to be possible so you will have to live with displaying results in Group/page footer.
Alternatively you can execute subreport twice, once where subreport is hidden in a section above page/group header and pass summary figure you require and then again where you currently have subreport so you can see details as required.

Permanently set Repeat cell values on table view obiee11g

Hi,
By default Analysis presentation Column comes with "Column Value Suppression" but we need to switch "Column Value Suppression" to "Repeat cell values" from source xml reference file
Note:don't want to do it via analysis table/column properties(its manual work) ..just looking to change permanently by changing xml

Creating new analysis(Table/Pivot table view) and applying format as Repeat Cell by changing Table/Pivot Properties to set Enable alternating row "green bar" styling Repeat cell values on table/pivot view (instead of doing manual way)
Refer the below image --> i just want to avoid manual enabling below Repeat cell option for entire table/pivot view option
