Repeating delegates

Hi...i've a little problem with delegates. I use the NSXMLParser and the NetSocket class to implement a client-server application. Then, my problem is with the delegates of these two classes. I defined an extern NetSocket, i istance it and i use it in all the classes i need, without problem. But, when i have to call a delegate of NetSocket or NSXMLParser in a specific class, i have to implement it newly in that class. So, i've a copy of delegates in RootViewController, in ContactListController (is one of my controller) and in all the other classes. How can i implement all the delegates once in all the program?
I tried to do so:
//in ContactListController, defining the delegate in RootViewController
[myNetSocket setdelegate:RootViewController];
but it doesn't work.

Also NOW I suddenly have two 256 cards that are not showing up so I have lost half of my RAM! I have less than 12% space left on my hard drive. Two of the cards look the same and two others look alike ( I have four 256 cards) Two years ago the repair shop put in two used cards so I would have all the same. I tried re seating them but it didn't work and I still get repeating messages in my systems log.

    .local indicates local activity by the computer host Williams-macbook-pro.local=hostname@domain . The UID of 501 is the standard UID of a local computer administrator.
    Copy and paste this little script in your terminal:
    if [ "SSH_CONNECTION ]; then
         echo I am remote
    else
         echo I am local

    A return of "i am local" ensures there is no remote connection to your machine (through SSH).

  • ICal not displaying Exchange calendar form delegate

    I have a very strange problem. I use iCal with Exchange 2007 and do have several delegates as read-only in their calendar. It works extremely well, except for one of them which can't be displayed. I got the following message : iCal can’t refresh the account “Manuel Moutoy”.
    When I log on to a PC with outlook, I can perfectly access this calendar which makes me think the problems lies in iCal. I tried removing the user and re-adding him several times, but that did not change anything.
    Can anyone help?
    Thanks, Jean-Francois.

    Anyone else seeing repeated crashing with iCal connected up with delegate accounts?
    I have successfully gotten 6 delegate accounts showing up properly in the main iCal window. Here is what worked for me when an account did not appear.
    Note: This will delete all local calendar data and require you reconfigure your accounts and delegates. In other words, this assumes ONLY server-based / Exchange calendars used in iCal.
    1. Got to preferences
    2. Deleted the account from the Delegate tab
    3. Close iCal
    4. Navigate to ~/Library/Calendars and delete all files/folders there
    5. Relaunch iCal and reconfigure primary Exchange account
    6 Re-add delegates into iCal, waiting for each calendar to full sync down to local cache before adding additional calendars
    Hope this helps!

  • Can I track course/delegate iPads and wirelessly install apps?

    Hello all,
    I work in an institution where we deploy 80 iPads a day to delegates for the duration of their stay with us.
    At the moment, we are unable to find a suitable location tracking solution, for when the iPads go wandering. As you can guess, we have had a couple over the years go missing, but have been fortunate it has only been a couple.
    For our staff devices(not limited to iPads) we use Systems Manager/Meraki. But there are serveral reasons why we cannot use this for our delegate. I will detail some of them below:
    We deploy the iPads day to day, using Configurator to wipe and load them, ready for the next person, this clears the enrollment settings, meaning we would spend hours each morning getting the devices enrolled as we would have to repeat this for each person
    The location tracking is inadequate, as it tracks by IP, not giving us a realistic picture of where the iPads are when trying to find them
    The beta location tracking feature is only a beta and we would need something reliable long term and short term
    As all of the devices are 'supervised' we would preferably like a solution which could be used with Configurator.
    Finally, we would like to be able to push out apps wirelessly to the devices on our network, this would be useful for last minute requests. We currently don't have anything in place for this and wondered if others are having the same issue, or have a good solution.
    Thank you in advance for your help.

    Maybe you should check with AirWatch
    If you want additional features that the application provides such as GPS tracking, telecom collection, and compromised detection, it is recommended that you push the AirWatch MDM Agent as a public application through the console. You will be prompted to install this application, as usual behavior after enrollment, once completing the Setup Assistant.
    Here is what Apple says is possible.  It lets you display the location of the ipad if it is network connected.  If you secure you ipad, the mdm acts as a replacement for the activation lock.

  • Non-printing repeating meetings

    OK, this is downright weird. I have a user (an executive, of course) whose calendar does not print all events when [a] printing from Outlook and printing from a Delegate/Editor/Designate window. In this case, only repeating events are printed.
    But wait, it's weirder. For days prior to March 10, all events print as one would expect. For March 10 and after, only the described symptoms occur.
    All events print when printed from the desktop client(s).
    All events print from Outlook when the user is logged in directly.
    OCFCO is at version 904.2.9, Outlook is version 2003 (11), SP1.
    Anyone ever seen a case even remotely like this?

    Turns out there was one meeting that caused the whole thing.
    The Windows client sees it as:
         One meeting in a series (repeating)
         No other attendees.
         Marked "Will not attend".
    Outlook sees it as:
         A single event (not in a series)
         Two other attendees.
         Visible; marked "Tentative".
    When I delete the offending meeting with the Windows client, everything prints just fine.

  • Iphoto repeatedly crashes

    Hello!
    I am having a problem with iPhoto repeatedly crashing. It had been working just fine, but today, while editing a photo, it crashed. Since then, it will open briefly, but then quickly become unresponsive and crash within about 30-45 seconds. I have made no recent system changes and in an attemtpt to fix it I have updated all software, and then deleted the app and reinstalled it, but it continues to crash.
    I have iPhoto 9.2.1 running on a late 2011 macbook pro with 10.7.4.
    I have copied the error message details below. Any help would be much appreciated!  Thanks so much!

  • Is the Business Delegate a Singleton?

    I use the Business Delegate to hide the implementation details (lookup, EJB, etc.) of the Business Service from the client. The same Business Delegate is used in many different places in the client. Now I would like to avoid to pass around the object reference of the Business Delegate in the client.
    I wonder if the Business Delegate should be a Singleton. Is this reasonable?
    Thank you.

    excellent, thanks for your comments.
    so to the orginal question, would you agree with the comments below?
    The pattern catalog describes the business delegate as containing an instance of an EJBObject where as the service locator can optionally cache an EJBHome object. The former avoids repeated JNDI lookups and creating an EJB whilst the later just avoids repeated JNDI lookups.
    Using this strategy, the delegate looks up the home interface and creates an instance of an EJB on creation; it has a one-to-one relationship with it. You dont really want the delegate to have to create an EJB from the home interface in every method so it should therefore contain an instance member.
    This all means the delegate cant be a singleton, it can't share that EJBObject with multiple clients.

  • Benefit of Delegate over regular method

    Hello.
    I was looking over a library's code and saw a delegate function for processing an IDataReader row's columns.
    What is the advantage of declaring the function this way as opposed to declaring a regular, static function:
    Alias:
    static Func<IDataReader, MyEntity> Make = reader =>
    new MyEntity
    MemberId = reader["MemberId"].AsId(),
    Email = reader["Email"].AsString(),
    CompanyName = reader["CompanyName"].AsString(),
    City = reader["City"].AsString(),
    Country = reader["Country"].AsString()
    Regular static method:
    private static MyEntity Make(IDataReader reader)
    return new MyEntity
    MemberId = reader["MemberId"].AsId(),
    Email = reader["Email"].AsString(),
    CompanyName = reader["CompanyName"].AsString(),
    City = reader["City"].AsString(),
    Country = reader["Country"].AsString()

    >What is the advantage of declaring the function this way as opposed to declaring a regular, static function:
    Scope.  They are functionally identical, but I do this sometimes to keep all the functionality inside a single method.  Notice how the method uses the DataReader column names, which in turn come from the SQL Query.  If you put this in a separate
    method you'd have to keep them in sync.
    The choice here is probably between using an anonymous method, or pasting the body code at the call site.  You do this when you want to avoid verbose or repeated code in the method.  But where you don't want to reuse the code in any other method.

  • Ical quits when switching to delegate google calendars

    I am using Mac Book Pro with yosemite. Recently the Calendar app started to quit unexpectedly. i have a google calendar and 12 delegate calendars. And it happens when i switch to other calendars. Any known issue and solutions?

    The next time the problem happens, note the date and time the problem occurred, then go to Applications/Utilities/Console and copy the log starting at the time of the crash. Paste the log in a reply. Please do not use a screen shot as they can be hard to read. If there are repeated runs of the same messages, please post only one run. Be selective about what you post and don’t  post huge amounts. Make sure there is no personal data visible. Information learned from Linc Davis.

  • Timing of delegate method invocation!!

    In my app, I use MKReverseGeocoder method to to build (location) string that some other class uses it as output to the user. In testing I see that very often the location string is not displayed. I kept thinking that the MKReverseGecoder is failing - but it is not. It is a timing issue.
    What I do is that I build the (location) string (e.g. Las Vegas, Nevada, US) in the delegate method for MKReverseGeocoder. That string is stored in one of the the AppDelegate's instance variables. The consumer of the location string then accesses it later on.
    In the following snapshot of the console log, the delegate method logs (-----> Las Vegas, Nevada, US) and the consumer logs (===> string value). The first section shows that the delegate is called after the consumer is called - that's why the value is "not set yet". The second section shows the intended sequence of execution.

    How can the execution sequence be guaranteed to be in a particular order? Should I put a sleep in the consumer, so that the delegate has time to finish it's job?

    I don't think I have enough info to understand your requirement, Sam. You say the consumer runs "later on", but you need to prevent it from running too soon. What needs to happen between the time the geocoder finishes and the comsumer starts? Or to put it another way, why can't the consumer simply be started by reverseGeocoder:didFindPlacemark:?
    Should I put a sleep in the consumer, so that the delegate has time to finish it's job?
    Only as a last resort. In that case you wouldn't want the consumer to literally sleep, you'd probably want to set a boolean ivar from reverseGeocoder:didFindPlacemark:. When the consumer needed to run, it would start polling that ivar (i.e. start a repeating timer whose fired method would either cancel the timer and start the consumer when the ivar became True, or else raise a timeout alert).
    But as above, polling should be your last choice. Even if the consumer is waiting on some additional asynchronous event(s), so long as you can get a message at the end of each event, you should be able to avoid polling by using the last such message to start your consumer.

  • Delegate Calendars wont show in wiki?

    10.6 server will not show the delegate calendars via the wiki access but ical brings them up fine.... Solutions?
    Ditto with ical on Iphone4s....

    I've got this problem too. And I use the same tactics described here: delete the folder: user/Library/Appication Support/iCal; plus the preference file: user/Library/Preferences/com.apple.iCal.plist. I have also deleted all events that repeat indefinitely (including the American Holidays calender I subscribed to).
    When I restart iCal, at first I see an empty weekly panel, with just two start-up calendars, Work and Home, showing in the pane at the left. Then after 6-8 seconds, my other calendars appear, and the weekly panel fills with events. Everything has been restored.
    However, if I close and re-open iCal, I have to go through the same process to get my calendars and events back.
    This is a pain in the neck. Does Apple know about it?

  • Repeated entries in JComboBox

    The problem I encountered is that while JComboBox can display repeated items, it doesn't allow selecting them. Try selecting item #2 in the attached example. Any suggestions?
    import java.awt.event.ActionEvent;
    import java.awt.event.ActionListener;
    import java.awt.event.ItemEvent;
    import java.awt.event.ItemListener;
    import javax.swing.JComboBox;
    import javax.swing.JFrame;
    public class ComboTest extends JFrame
         private JComboBox m_name;
         public ComboTest()
              String[] values = {"item 0 is unique","items 1 and 2 are identical","items 1 and 2 are identical","item 3 is unique"};
              m_name = new JComboBox(values);
              m_name.addItemListener(new ItemListener()
                        public void itemStateChanged(ItemEvent e)
                             System.out.println("itemStateChanged, new index = "+m_name.getSelectedIndex()+" >>>"+e.paramString());
              m_name.addActionListener(new ActionListener()
                        public void actionPerformed(ActionEvent e)
                             System.out.println("actionPerformed, new index = "+m_name.getSelectedIndex()+" >>>"+e.paramString());
              m_name.setSelectedIndex(-1);
              m_name.setEditable(true);
              getContentPane().add(m_name);
              setSize(250,60);
         public static void main(String[] args)
              ComboTest mm = new ComboTest();
              mm.show();

    I would agree with earlier posters who suggested that putting repeated entries into the JComboBox is probably not much help. It seems better to wrap People up in a class which contains some unique identifier, even if the toString() method can return duplicates.
    You can get what you want, but you will have to write a custom ComboBoxModel, since DefaultComboBoxModel delegates storage to java.util.Vector, which returns the first index that matches when you use indexOf. See http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.3/docs/api/java/util/Vector.html#indexOf(java.lang.Object) for more details.
    There are plenty of problems in Java. I don't think this is one of them.

    Since installing LTR 5.4, which I've now upgraded to 5.6, I've encountered repeated slowness and malfunctions in operations, especially when using the Compare View function and the Tab key to open and close the right and left side panels.  Such problems never arose during two years of using LTR-4 and nothing else has changed on my computer.  I have a pretty simple system with only a few plug-ins, which are usually not in operation.  I have 12GB of RAM in my Windows 7 PC.  I could illustrate these problems with screen shots if you would tell me how to submit screen shots.  Otherwise I will try to describe the problems in words.
    The problem is clearly cumulative, growing worse as usage time passes.  Compare View feature gradually slows down and eventually seems to choke as my work session proceeds. If I Exit LTR and re-enter and start all over, things will work normally for maybe 30 minutes, but then the Compare View feature begins to become very slow to respond.   In a recent example with my screen full of thumbnails in Library mode I highlighted two images to compare. LTR started to open the Compare View screen by first having the top row of thumbnails disappear to be replaced by the "SELECT" and "CANDIDATE" words in their spaces  (but no images), but Compare View never succeeded in gaining control of the screen. After some seconds the top row of thumbnails reasserted its position and the Compare View windows disappeared. But LTR kept trying to bring them back. Again the top row of thumbnails would go away, Select and candidate would reappear, try again, and give up. This went on for at least 2-3 minutes before I tried to choose File and Exit, but even that did not initially want to respond. It doesn't like to accept other commands when it's trying to open Compare View. Finally it allowed me to exit.
    To experiment I created a new catalog of 1100 images.  After 30-40 minutes, the Compare View function began to operate very slowly. With left and right side panels visible and two thumbnails highlighted, hitting Compare View can take half a minute before the two mid-size  images open in their respective SELECT and CANDIDATE windows. When the side panels are open and two images are in the Select/Candidate spaces, hitting the Tab button to close the side panels produces a very delayed response--25-30 seconds to close them, a few more seconds to enlarge the two images to full size. To reverse the process (i.e., to recall the two side panels), hitting Tab would make the two sides of the screen go black for up to a minute, with no words visible. Eventually the info fields in the panels would open up.
    I also created a new user account and imported a folder of 160 images. After half an hour Compare View began mis-placing data.  (I have a screen shot to show this.)  CANDIDATE appears on the left side of SELECT, whereas it should be on the right. The accompanying camera exposure data appears almost entirely to the left of the mid-screen dividing line. Although the Candidate and Select headings were transposed, the image exposure data was not, but the data for the image on the right was almost entirely to the left of the line dividing the screen in two.
    Gurus in The Lightroom Forum have examined Task Manager data showing Processes running and Performance indicators and they see nothing wrong.  I could also send screen shots of this data.
    At this point, the only way I can process my images is to work 30-40 minutes and then shut down everything, exit, and re-start LTR.  This is not normal.  I hope you can find the cause, and then the solution.  If you would like to see my screen shots, tell me how to submit them.

  • Repeating a group element on each page of a report.

    I have a report where I need to repeat a group element on each page. The element is from the first group in the data. It is in the center group. Currently, the values from this group only print when the group changes. Everything I try does not work. Does anyone have any ideas. I am attaching a sample of the data. Along with the rtf document. I am using the BI Publisher plug in in Word to create the template.

    Hi,
    You should add a first level of grouping in your subreport on a fake formula field with a constant value.  Put your header and footer information in this group header and footer.  In the group option make sure to check the "repeat group header on each page option".
    This group will act as a page header + footer within your subreport.
    good luck!
    Guy
