Replace function is missing

I have a BO Webi user who is unable to perform the Replace function. She is able to schedule the report. But, if she wants to change the scheduler by replacing the new time interval, the Replace function doesn't appear. We go into History, click on Action, and click on Reschedule, and there's no Replace appearing in the list (Instance Title, Recurrence, Format & Destination, Caching, Events, Scheduling Server Grou). Replace is missing from the original report scheduled. Does anyone know why? Do I (designer) have to enable some permission on the CMC for this user?

The problem is that every time I try to open any program from Office 2011, I immediately get the following window, for example for Word: "Microsoft Word has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience." This happens each and every time I try to open Word or other Office 2011 component.
Thinking it might be a licensing issue, I purchased and downloaded a new copy of Office 2011 from Amazon and installed it on my new MBP. Same issue once again.
I tried to remove all copies of Office 2011 from the MBP, but the instructions provided by Microsoft required about three page and seventeen steps and the page was somehow corrupted and would not print in its entirety, nor would it e-mail as anything other than a link to the corrupted page. Not trusting my memory, I decided not to try this without adult supervision.
I used Disk Utility to repair Disk Permissions, as described on an existing thread regarding the same problem, but to no avail.
I removed and later replaced the "Microsoft User Data" folder from the Documents folder, but that was no help.
I have copied the short version of the "Microsoft Error Reporting log version: 2.0," below, for those of you with a deeper knowledge of the internal workings, or non-workings of things Mac when crossed with things MS.

Replace() function doesn't work in Application Designer?

I'm using PeopleSoft Application Designer 8.51. I'm trying to do a simple Replace function so I can escape single quotes rather than allow them to blow up the sql query.

App Designer chokes when I hit Save: "Invalid function parameter type. (2,19)"

Even if I try to execute the example right out of the documentation, I get the same error: REPLACE("StringFun", "Fun", "Number");

I figured this out. “Replace” is a strange duck function that relies on offsets. “Substitute” is the magic I needed, works just like I was expecting Replace to work. The documentation I was reading on Replace was for “ PeopleSoft Analytic Calculation Engine” rather than peoplecode. I’ll pay closer attention to that next time. Maybe this will help someone else...

Eclipse: UFL "u212com.dll" that implements this function is missing

I try to open one of our reports with the "Crystal Reports for Eclipse 2.0" sample application. Thie report relies on a com based UFL. I get the following error message:

The fact that you can see the UFL under 'Additional Functions' tells me that the UFL is compiled as 32 bit. This is good for creating the report in the IDE which is 32 bit. But the app you are building is compiled as 64 bit. But there is no 64 bit UFL(?) that yo have built so far. So, two options;
1) Build the UFL as "Any CPU". I am not sure if this will actually work. never tried this, but I do know that it is not possible to compile an app using the CR runtime as "Any CPU". E.g.; we always recommend to compile either as 32 bit and \ or 64 bit, not "Any CPU" This may be the case with the UFL, thus the next suggestion.
2) Compile a second copy of the UFL as 64 bit. You'll then have to use 64 bit GAC and regasm on that dll.

I am attempting to write a user function library for the crystal reports version that ships with Visual Studio 2010. Following the walkthrough on the Business Objects website (although that is for VS2005) I have successfully created my .dll file and added it to the GAC, and it appears in the function list under 'Additional Functions' in the Crystal Reports formula editor. However when I use the function on in my Windows forms application, I get the error "UFL 'u212com.dll' that implements this function is missing.". This is on my development machine and I have installed the latest service pack for Crystal Reports for VS2010 (64-bit). My OS is Windows 7 64-bit.
I have two questions:
1) What version of the .NET framework should my class library be targeting? My windows forms application targets the .NET framework version 4, but should I be doing the same thing for the .dll for Crystal Reports? It does show up in the formula editor though, so I guess that means that Crystal Reports recognises it correctly.
2) I have done a search on the PC for the file 'u212com.dll' and it is in the folder C:\Program Files (x86)\SAP BusinessObjects\Crystal Reports for .NET Framework 4.0\Common\SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 4.0\win64_x64 (and also in the equivalent 32-bit folder) Is this correct, or is there is a specific 64-bit version of this file?

I am working through migrating older reports from a very outdated version of Crystal into a newer version and trialing Crystal Server 2013 with Crystal Reports for Enterprise. The only problem I am running into is that I have many reports using the NumberToDate function to pull a number string and form it into a date for the report. I really need this function to work because we rely on it quite heavily. When I pull reports that use it into my new environment I am given the following error:
"UFL 'u2ltdate' that implements this function is missing."
I have found the u2ltdate.dll on the web and transferred it into the following folders: windows/system32 and program files(x86)/SAP BusinessObjects/SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 4.0/win32_x86 and the win64_x64 as well just to be sure. But to no avail I am still unable to use the NumberToDate function. I have even tried copying the u2ltdate.dll from our older server, and this doesn't work either. I really need to get this working as soon as possible. I don't know if I need a 64 bit dll because it is windows server 2008 or if I don't have it in the right places. Please help!

Don't put the ufl into the \windows\system32 folder. Nothing should go there now.
I doubt this will ever work in CR for Enterprise. It's a Java Designer so the only way to make it work is to create a Java UFL.

1803967 - How to make a Java UFL available in Crystal Reports 2011 Designer?
Same for CR for Ent., you need a Java UFL.
Only way to make this work is to convert the UFL to Java or use Crystal Reports 2011 or 2013.

Try searching, there is a kbase article with a sample attached.
And you will need a 64 bit version because some of the report processing servers may be 64 bit only but I believe the Crystal Report Processing Server is 32 bit only. It will need the UFL copied into it's \win32_x86 folder.
Only issue you should have is using CR for Ent. to design/update/create the reports with that function. Use CR 2011 or 2013 and it should work.
Problem is we no longer have the source code for that UFL and others, quite often they were written by Support people and therefore not saved into our code source system.

Replace function not working for XML CLOB data

Hi all,
I am generating XML using DBMS_XMLGEN in oracle 10g. After generating the XML, I am replacing the ROW tags with appropriate tag name using REPLACE function. Sometimes the tag name is not replaced correctly.
Eg.I am replacing </Cargo_ROW> with </CargoDetail>. But sometimes in one xml, this tag is coming as </CargoDetROW> or </CargoDetaiW>. The XML size is always huge and the same tag is repeated so many time in the loop and in the same XML, only one tag will be replaced incorrectly. This also not happening for all XMLs.
If any one knows the cause about this problem or solution, please share the same.

Does TM overwrite or just replace what's missing?

When I went on a business trip recently I had to delete about 15GB worth of music from iTunes to free up some hard drive space. When I got home i hooked up my iPhone to sync it and thought it would transfer all the music I had deleted. Needless to say it only transferred the purchased content and not my older tracks from physical CDs.
Anyways... now I would like to go into Time Machine and replace JUST the files that I am now missing. However, this would be a laborious process so I would prefer to just click on the iTunes folder as a whole.
My question is: would this overwrite my current one and therefore delete any new files ive purchased? Or just replace what's missing?

TM gives you several options when you are restoring something. you can skip restoring files, you can overwrite them or you can keep both the original and the backed up copy. however, when you do this to a whole folder it will replace the whole folder. so this is not convenient in your case. what i suggest you do is copy your current itunes library to a different location (say, to the desktop) and then restore the old one replacing the current one completely. then import music from the copy you made on the desktop.

Bulk Replacements using Replace function in oracle 8i

Iam using oracle 8i version and i need to use Replace function for bulf replacements i mean i need to replace around 250 rows. So please anyone suggest me how to proceed
on this request as iam using oracle 8i version.

Write one update statement.
The where condition is the filter what rows need to be touched.
The SET condition will do the data change. For example it could use the REPLACE function if that is what it is needed.
One single update statement over 20 rows would mean the task is done in BULK. 20 single updates that each handle one row would mean it is row by row = slow by slow processing.

If I try to use the "REPLACE" function in the JDeveloper by editing the sql statement in the view object editor and run the page the results returned for the phone number column on the page are blank.
How can I substitute a dash for the period on the page?

Try using AS:

In this case is recommended for your VO a read only query.

Replace Function in Cold Fusion

The code below does the following: It finds an item in Spanish (in this case it's GetBasket.options, 2) and add `SPA` to the SKU code.

How do I do the following?
The SKU code is a 5 digit code for all languages. For example: the SKU code in English is 902013, but the SKU code for Spanish is 903013. As you can see the 3rd number is being replaced with 3. It will be standard for all items in Spanish. How do I modify the code above to replace the 3rd number with 3?

I know that it not apply in this version but I've tried with ttIsqlCS in node with TT11 through connection in database TT7 but I received this error:
ttIsqlCS database_test_R7
Command> select replace('asjkhdfkhaskdh','a','1') from dual;
2818: Unknown function REPLACE
The command failed.
Command> version;
TimesTen Release 11.2.2.4.0
Any idea ??

Hi Babs,
I am afraid that you are out of luck. SQL is implemented in the TimesTen engine/libraries not in the ttIsql client. Since 7.0 SQL does not have th REPLACE() function there is no way to execute that in 7.0 regardless of the client you use. You'll need to find some other option to accomplish what you require (maybe upgrade the 7.0 database to 11.2.2?).
