Replacing stabilizing rubber pads

One of the rubber pads on the bottom of my laptop has fallen off somewhere, and now my laptop wobbles whenever I type. Where can I get a replacement?

An exhaustive search of Google came up with this:

I'll bet you can get em from Apple too.

  • How to replace bottom rubber pads?

One of them 4 rubber pads under my macbook broken off (top-left, probably due to aging from the heat). Would you think an Apple service center have them? I don't want the bottom to get scratched.

If Apple did sell these replacement feet, you'd probably still be here, looking for alternatives, because the price would most likely be something on the order of US $29.95 a piece.

hi- does anyone know how to replace the rubber pads on the bottom of an ibook? one of mine is missing, and i have purchased a new battery, so i want to remove the pad from the bottom of the old battery, and install it in the hole where the missing pad is.
i guess i need to know how to remove the one from the
old battery as well as how to install it.
    sorry if this is confusing

    Mark,
Did that solve your problem? If so please mark the question as solved because I as well as other members will can use this thread for future reference. It isn't really needed in this case (if your question was answered), but when someone solves your problem or is helpful, you should "award" them points by pushing the buttons Solved and/or Helpful. I don't believe in the points at Apple Discussions, I don't understand why I should count points never the less count posts. I do it to show people who have the same problem, which answer helped or solved it.

  • Rubber pad thing above mic has come off -replacement? will my lcd crack?

    hiya,
the little rubber pad on the lid of my 12' ibook, just above the microphone, broke off a few months ago. i thought my ibook would survive so it didnt bother me too much, when i close the lid it does rattle a bit though. my problem is that the one on the other side of the screen is starting to come off too, if it does come off altogether im afraid that when i close my laptop or when it is in my bag (in a case) it could damage the screen because its just banging off the bottom.
does anyone know if i sent it in for repair apple would replace them? its still under warranty, but only for another month. could it actually damage the screen? my previous experience with apple warranty repair is that they wont fix any issues that aren't actually affecting the use of the ibook. (i sent in my ipod in for repair because the plastic ring around where the dock cable goes in broke, but i got it back with a note saying 'no problem found')
i would reall appreciate any response, i am ainxious to do something about it before it comes off, and before my warranty runs out.
    thanks, Aoife

oh well thats a bit more promising!:-) thanks for that. id still like to know if anyone thinks apple would fix it, im thinking about selling it in a few months and it would obviously be better if the computer had them!

  • Replacement rubber pad for top of LCD

Hi anyone got any idea on if the rubber pads at the top of the LCD screen are coverred under the warrenty ? Or where I can get any from. The top two on my laptop seem to have come off and so I get to see the ugly screws underneath now.
    Thanks

If anyone else has this problem, it's likely that Lenovo will force you to mail in the entire laptop (which Lenovo says takes 5-7 business days plus shipping time).
When I called Lenovo, they set up a case with me and told me that they would send the part.  I never received the part though, so after 3-4 weeks, I call back and they tell me that the case is canceled.  They never even called me to notify me of this.  They claim that the part has to be replaced by a certified technician, which is surprising since Lenovo has sent me a palmrest in the past to replace on my own.

  • Rubber pads next to latch fell off and are lost

Does anyone know how I can get the rubber pads next to the latch on the screen replaced? They came loose and fell off one day. Would that be covered under warranty?

mine fell off to about a year ago and i was unable to get them replaced, i think you would have to source the pads your self and instal them if your outside of your warranty

  • Anti-slip rubber pads for mbp 13'

Hi all, I've been losing the anti-slip rubber pads from the bottom of my macbook pro 13'', i just wonder is this part is buyable separately? apple store guys says I need to change the entire aluminium bottom pan which would cost around £30 !!

It would be useful to know where you're located. In the USA, you might try these vendors:
    http://www.pbparts.com  (parts and repair work)
    http://www.dttservice.com  (parts and repair work)
    http://www.powerbookresq.com  (parts and repair work)
    http://www.tekserve.com  (parts and repair work)
http://www.powerbookmedic.com (parts, repair work and instructional videos)
    http://www.welovemacs.com (parts and used equipment)
http://www.ifixit.com (parts and excellent, illustrated online take-apart instructions)
Prices for the same parts vary WIDELY, so check around. Also, parts as small as the rubbr feet you're looking for may not be listed on the websites, so calling the toll-free numbers you'll find on most of the sites may be a good idea.
If not successful in locating the Apple parts, you may want to pick up some self-adhesive furniture feet at your local hardware store. They won't fit perfectly or last very long (heat breaks down the adhesive on them), but they may cost only a tiny fraction of what you'll have to pay for Apple feet.

  • Wobbly Macbook Air on flat surface, problem with rubber pads on the unibody base?

If i place my Macbook Air on a flat surface, it wobbles - as if the rubber pads on the base are uneven..
Are there any solutions to this? Can I fix this myself, or do i have to take it to the store to sort out?
    Thanks.

"The best solution to get rid of the problem is to take the MacBook Air’s bottom left end, and the top right end (of the keyboard) and flex it out. Yes seriously, gentle flexing does straighten it out. By being careful and flexing it once or twice, I succeed at having the four rubbed pads laying flat on the table.
I suggest you to do it incrementally, with gentle flexing (toward the top or bottom), until your MacBook Air lays flat. So gentle flex, try to wobble it with the lid open and close, check if the lid is still closing perfectly (from every angle), and then flex it again (if needed) until you reach the perfect balance."
    I found the solution here:

  • Does anyone know where you can get a rubber pad for the bottom of the Macbook Pro 13"?

My Macbook Pro 13" tends to get a bit warm while sitting on my lap at times. I really don't want to put a case on it, but I wondered if anyone sells a rubber pad that might cover the bottom of the laptop? I would think this would help with the heat and also provide better gripping when you set it down on a surface. Nothing fancy, just a rubber pad that would stick on.
    Never hurts to ask
    Thanks
    --Aric

The metal body is a key part of the heat dissipation.
And the MBP is a "notebook", not a "laptop".  Air flows around the body to get rid of heat.
I have used my MBP on my lap, but always balanced on both legs and left as much metal as possible exposed.  Now I understand even that was risky.
If you want to use a hard-surface that the MBP sits on and the surface sits on your leg, then OK.  But the heat you feel is the MBP clearing itself.

  • WILL apple accept wire exposed earphones for replacement? Rubber has peeled around jack so left ear doesn't work. Plus rubber has moved upward from centre exposing wire.???

My warrenty expires 26th June 2013. I've had these earphones for 11 months but for 4 months they've seperated from the rubber casing and wire is exposed. This is literally from using them once or twice a day. The rubber casing peeled from the wires on the jack and the mic control region. Consequently, the left ear is broken and there is no sound. Will this be covered for replacement? The damage I mean? I don't want to send them in then be charged if they deem them not acceptable. Thanks.

If Apple believe the issue is a manufacturing fault they are covered
If they believe the damage is user caused they are not covered
No one here as other users can guess which .so your choice
Best to take to an Apple Retail Store genius bar ,and you will get a decision on the spot

I just want everybody to know how irritating is to pay for something that doesn't worth.

OK I'll play (now that you posted it in big letters it is so much clearer):
    What "brazilian dealer"?
    What is "parkshopping"?
    What is "iplace"?
    What defective rubber bottom?
What has this to do with Pages for Mac?
Would you like to post that in Portuguese? Just make sure you say it clearly, we have no idea at all what you are talking about.
