Report for variance analysis

Hi:
We execute collective var analysis using KKS1 . It does not give split of variances into Fixed and variable costs for individual process orders. Is there any report which can tell us how much of variance was fixed and variable so that we can segregate them.

HI,
The 1AB library contains reports for variance analyses. This is an important report for Cost Center Accounting (CO-OM-CCA) supplied in the SAP R/3 System. Additional information for report can be found in the documentation for the reports. Choose Extras->Documentation from the report itself.

Oracle Financials or Hyperion Planning for variance analysis??

We are considering Hyperion Planning for our Departmental budgets/forecasts and I'm have a disagreement with a few piers. Was hoping you could help. It's my contention that the budgets/forecasts AND actuals should be populated in Hyperion Planning. A few of my piers contend that the budgets/forecats should be housed in Hyperion Planning and pushed down to Oracle Financials for variance analysis - in order to provide drill back capability into the transacations that caused the variance.
Since H.P. is a consolidated system, I would think it's impossible to budget at a summary account level in H.P. and push it to base level/transaction level within Oracle Financials (one to many). In my view, the actuals should flow up from Oracle Financials, via FDM, into H.P. where variance analysis can take place? I would think drill back capability could be provided via FDM within Planning?
Anyway, was hoping to get your thoughts.

We are currently in the final phase of implementing Oracle Financials and Hyperion for the same purpose that you have described in your post. We use Oracle Financials to record actuals and then transfer it to Hyperion under the scenario 'Actual'. While the budget/forecast data in only entered/saved in Hyperion. There are several financial reports for variances that are generated out of Hyperion. So far, this arrangement is serving us pretty well. I second your point that in Hyperion, we can easily compare summary level data. We have Hyperion reports that do variances calculations for sub-totals. In fact, we are also using HP reports for consolidated statements such as Balance sheet, Income statement etc. The actual data for these statements is coming from GL.
As for drill through functionality (from HP to sub-ledger details in financials), we are in process of implementing FDM and use it for both (1) loading data and (2) drill through.

How to generate a report for all Analyses which conatins a specific column

Hello Experts
I am trying to generate a report of all Analyses which contains a specific column. We are currently using OBIEE 11.1.1.7.0.
I have tried to use the command line options using ./runcat.sh, but did not find any arguments that can filter the analyses by a specific column used.
Any help is much appreciated.

In the dashboard named "10.31 Webcat Analysis" you have a columns to analysis report where you select the presentation column and you get all the reports using it.
This dashboard require a script to be run on your catalog, it will parse it and extract all the column info (and many other interesting things) and load it in a database. The scripts are simple and well documented, so you can easily adapt them to your own environment.
If you want the script there is no miracle solution: download SampleApp and extract it (it's not small, but with all the great content it has we can't complain about that ...).

Report Painter variance analysis

Client has requested a report painter report which would display different variance categories in columns for different order or material whatever the user may wish to choose.
I want to know how should I define the columns ie. what characteristics should appear on the columns.
Also I want to know how should I define rows - I am completely blank on that.
Thirdly what should be the general data characteristics.

Only in COPA, you can get the category wise variances. If COPA has been activated in your system, you can very well have report on variances by category wise.

Accounting entry settings for variance analysis

Hi all,
When we perform variance analysis for a production order, an accounting entry is passed clearing the under or over absorbed portion in production cost centers or in overhead cost centers.
Could any one tell me where to make this configuration that when variance calculation of order is performed ... the financial entry clearing the over/under absorbed portion is posted automatically.
I heard that this entry is posted manually. Please kindly enlighten me if what I heard is correct. If so then what activity does KKS2 perform.

Hi,
With KKS2 TC,you can only calculate variances and with KO88,will settle variances to FI/PCA and COPA.
Production variance,account determination is part of OBYC TC.
Goto OBYC>GBB>AUA/AUF -->product capitalization account
OBYC>PRD>PRF -->production variance account

Report for anoymous analysis of Time Quotas (IT2006)

Dear all,
we face the request to provide a view on all defined Time Quotas (InfoType 2006), where only the totals will be shown.
Example: we have an overtime contingent OT
employee 1 has 10hrs
employee 2 has 20 hrs
our goal would be based on selection criteria the have list of time quoats among them we finf OT: 30hrs.
So the output sums up all quotas and outputs them anonymously.

fill your output table with the fields you need

For variance analysis you can use report S_ALR_87013127 - in Object list node in cost object controlling.
This is one of the best available reports u can use since it gives variances for all order types in all plants and company codes
Once u select the parameters, go to the layout and select all variances fields listed and save your layout so that u dont have to do it everytime.
I have been providing this to clients and is used for analysis and corrections to orders etc.
Also, there are quite a few reports not only on variance analysis but on WIP but in most of these reports the selection parameter is a single order instead of all orders for a plant which limits the usage.

i dont have functional support, i need to develop a REPORT for Debitor Analysis so i required the tables used and field names of

This CP is XML Pubsliher Implemented.
Check whether your column / information is already available in output xml (Diagnostics button -> View XML).
If yes, change the rtf to include your column also.
If not, you need to copy the Data Definition and rtf and do the required changes and even the concurrent program and have custom report for Account Analysis.

Excess Material Consumption Report - For a Particular Period

Hi,
For a particular Time Period, say 30 days, I require excess material consumption report. This report is for the materials ( say ROH, or HALB) that are confirmed through co11n. Taking MTS into consideration with Strategy Group 40, please suggest a standard report (if there is any).

Web report for Sentinel Log Manager (or possilby RD)

My customer wants to replace Webtrend. So customers are given me a set
of
apache log files. They said based on those logs Webtrend could already
build
some useful web based report for their business units. From what I have
known,
what makes them useful are:
1) Those IP addresses could be resolved to domain, identifying the
source of
the browsers
2) URL are analyzed such that they could give a 'hit rate' based web
report for
trend analysis.
3) What browsers are used to view their web sites so they know the
compatibility
issues.
If I customize our report now, would it be possible to generate similar
reports for the above items?
1) I wonder if it is possible during the report generate, would some
other add-on java plug-in could work for the DNS resolution before data
generation?
2) Any one know the logic of the webtrend about how it correlates
various URL visited in the apache logs are considered different 'hit'?
3) I believe we could base on filter to identify different version of
the browsers used?
I don't have a webtrend so I could not compare and look at how they
generate reports from the apache log I have. Please let me know if
anyone has any idea about it.

For (1): this feature already exists, although it's in a somewhat
experimental state. You need to install the Generic Hostname Resolution
Service Collector, and then enable hostname resolution for each
Collector (in this case, the Apache Collector).
For (2): I'm not sure what a "hit rate" is, but the Apache Collector
should give you a list of URLs that were visited and you should be able
to calculate counts per URL (split across the TargetDataName and
TargetDataContainer, note) using a SQL query or whatever.
For (3): I don't actually know what, if anything, the Apache Collector
does with the browser details; it may put that into the
ExtendedInformation field. You may wish to customize the Collector
slightly (this should be pretty easy to do) to copy that specific data
into a separate CV field; if you do that, then calculating the relative
frequency of hits from different browser types will again be a simple
COUNT style SQL query.
This is an interesting use case - we haven't really built much content
around the Apache Collector but as you are indicating, there might be
some simple things we can do that would be pretty useful. I'll take it
up as a potential project...

Is there a standard report available to get the cost analysis for a range of process order? COR3 --> Go to --> Cost --> Analysis. Here I can see the cost analysis for one report. But I wanted to get the cost analysis report for a range of process orders. Please help.

How to read the Variance Analysis report S_ALR_87013139, Pdt cost by Order

Hi,
Could someone tell me how to read the variance analysis report, S_ALR_87013139 - Cumulative for product cost by order. The report has the following fields, Target (Debits),     Actual (Debits),     Scrap,     Var. Without Scrap,     Work in Process(WIP),     Control Costs.
I am looking to find how the numbers add up.

When I analyse the report S_ALR_87013139 - Cumulative , for a product for a period (with no scrap), I get the following
Target (Deb) -   46,855.55
Act (Deb) - 58,315.87
Scrap - 0.00
Var W/O- Scrap - 11,269
WIP- 0
Control Cost - 0
Here Actual - Target is not equal to Variance. What could be the issue?
Could you please tell me how SAP would update this report with target & actual costs with respect to open production orders, carried over from previous periods.
