Report in Matrix format
Hi,
I need to write a report in Materix format i.e. A particular row and coloumn will need to have a value for that combination. Is that possible in SAP? If so please send me some sample code.
Thanks in advance,
Valuable help will be appriciated.
Rajesh.
How about an ALV Grid? Do search on this site for the same, there are plenty of examples.

Displaying a report in matrix format
Hi,
I want to display my report in the below given format, i have tried many ways but i didnt get the correct output. Please help.
I will one Change Request and some Transport Requests will be assigned to it and some objects which belong to that transport requests will be displayed below.
Now I have put 'X' mark to the objects which belong to the transport requests. There can be one or more objects for a particular transport request.
The data should be displayed like this.
SNO TR1 TR2 TR3
Obj1 X X
Obj2 X
Obj3 X X
Obj4 X X X
Obj5 X
TR above means Transport Request.
Objects can be either programs, tables, function modules etc.,
I have given just an example, the data should be displayed in the above manner, could anyone please help.
Thanks & Regards
Haritha.Hi
U should have an internal table like this:
.DATA: BEGIN OF ITAB OCCURS 0,
OBJECT_NAME TYPE TADIR-OBJ_NAME,
TR1 TYPE FLAG,
TR2 TYPE FLAG,
TR3 TYPE FLAG,
TR4 TYPE FLAG,
TR5 TYPE FLAG,
TRN TYPE FLAG,
END OF ITAB.
The first field is the abap object name, the others are the flag for the requets: the header of every TR* field will be the number of the request.
Now the problem is to understand how many transport u want to need to manage in your report: because if you need to manage N requests, your internal table ITAB will be a "statical" internal table with N fields type TR, else u need to use the dynamic internal table.

In any case, you must contact Oracle Support to get the issue resolved.

Issue while exporting report in Excel Format
Hello,
I am facing problem while exporting the report in Excel Format. After analysis, I think that it could be due to two reasons, either we are using wrong versions of Jars, or we are using wrong API. Here is the code, approaches and problems we are facing. Please help.
First approach we are using is:
// using basic API
import com.crystaldecisions.reports.sdk.ReportClientDocument;
// get client document from crystal report API and open the report by specifying the report name, with path
ReportClientDocument reportClientDoc = new ReportClientDocument();
reportClientDoc.open( reportPath, 0 );
// give chance to extending classes to configure the report document by POJO or by sql parameter etc, just adding the parameters infromation using ParameterFieldController
configureReportDocument( reportClientDoc, reportMetadata, reportData, reportContext );
// get data source of crystal report
Object reportSource = reportClientDoc.getReportSource();
// export the data - we have also tried with MSExcel format
ReportExportFormat exportFormat = ReportExportFormat.recordToMSExcel;
LOGGER.debug( "exportFormat[" + exportFormat + "]" );
ByteArrayInputStream byteArray = (ByteArrayInputStream) reportClientDoc.getPrintOutputController().export(
exportFormat );
Problem Faced: Specified Excel format is not supported.
Second Approach: We come to know that excel format is supported with new releases and with occa package.
Then we tried with import com.crystaldecisions.sdk.occa.report.application.ReportClientDocument; It ask to set the ReportServer. When we are trying to set the server as
reportClientDoc.setReportAppServer(ReportClientDocument.inprocConnectionString);
Application is unable to find 'ReportClientDocument.inprocConnectionString' property. It seems like we are using some old jars. However we have downloaded the latest released jars for eclipse 2.
Please help for it. Issue is to export the report in excel format, which is currently working fine for PDF. If this problem is related to Jars, please suggest the path to download the latest jars. We also looking for the latest jars like rasapp and rascore etc. But these are not available with Crystal Report for Eclipse 2 release.
Waiting for urgent help. Thanks you..

Need to convert AP Invoice Aging Report in Excel format
Hi,
Need to convert AP Invoice Aging Report in excel format..there was an existing Invoice Aging report in AP and that was in paper format. That we need to convert to rtf template..
There was an other concurrent program called 'Invoice Aging Report (XML) - Reserveed for future use', when i am using that rtf template..to get the report output it was taking more than 1 hr time.
1)Is there any way/patch to get that XML report to be used in 12.1.3 EBS version
2) is there any other way to get the report output faster.
Thanks..Hi,
When submitting the request, you may change the output to Excel and get the output in Excel. Otherwise as you mention if you getting the output in text format, you may download the text format and open the document in excel and use the delimitation to format in excel as per your requirement.
1)Is there any way/patch to get that XML report to be used in 12.1.3 EBS version
2) is there any other way to get the report output faster.
Is your statistics up to date, when did you last run gather schema statistics program in Sysadmin responsibility.
Also what is the record quantity that you are expecting here? Is date range parameter available in the report and if yes, did you try running the report for a day to check the output.
Thanks &

// position and the limit is written to the file
wChannel.write(buf);
// Close the file
wChannel.close();
} finally {
if (conn != null) {
conn.close();
Any help would be highly appreciated. Thanks in advanceHi ,
One 'simple' way is by using the DBMS_SCHEDULER db package and the procedure CREATE_JOB(....) using as job_type the value 'EXECUTABLE'...
Read for further info in 'PL/SQL Packages and Types Reference'.
If you have access to OEM ... you can configure this there using wizard.....
Other way is to use the External Procedure call capabiblity of Oracle DB Server...:

Generating BIP report in RTF format generates blank report
Hi all,
When generating a BIP report in RTF format the report output is blank!?
If I run the report in any other format the report displays the data correctly.
We're running siebel 8.1.1.2 and BIP 10.1.3.4.1.
When looking at the size of the report when the 'File Download' window appears it seem like the report contains data as the size is 62KB, compared to the pdf format which do display data is 20KB. The output generates the amount of pages that is needed for the report, but all pages are blank.
The report is an activity List report with just one for-each statement in it.
Has anybody come across the same?
Regards,
HakanHi alka,
To invoke Word automatically, use command
line options DESTYPE=CACHE,
DESFORMAT=RTF and MIMETYPE=application/msword.
This is an example URL: http://webserver:80/cg-bin/rwcgi60.exe?module
=test.rdf&userid=scott/tiger@mydb&
destype=cache&desformat=rtf&mimetype=application/msword&server=myrepserver
1. Check the appropriate mimetype setting for Word by Starting Windows Explorer,
choose View -> Options from the menu, go to the File Type tab, find Microsoft
Word Document in this list, click Edit, and get the value for Content Type
(MIME). This is the value that needs to be used in the MIMETYPE command line
option, and it will typically be application/msword, but may differ on
different machines.

How to create the report in given format???
Hi there,
My table view gets the report in this format.
Unit -----Report-----Sum
u1----------A---------s1
u1----------B---------s2
u2----------A---------s3
u2----------B---------s4
U3----------A---------s5
U3----------B---------s6
I need report in the format:
Unit------Report A------Report B-----Percent
U1----------s1----------------s2-------------(s1/s2)*100 %
U2----------s3----------------s4-------------(s3/s4)*100 %
U3----------s5----------------s6-------------(s5/s6)*100 %
I need conditional formating in percentage column where column cell turns green for > 98% and red for <= 98%.
I used pivot table and used new calculated item to create percent column but I'm not able to do conditional formating there and append % sign.
Is there any other method where I can create logical column in RPD side.
Please advicehi,
Here is the way to achieve the conditional formatting in pivot table i didn't tried out this :-)...

3) the report, in PDF format, is sent to the client's user
Thanks a lotPrintOutputController.export, get the byte stream, save on server.

Error in exporting from Interactive Report to PDF format
Hello,
i am using APEX and from an Interactive Report i am trying to export using Download | PDF format. The table and corresponding report has only text fields. Database character set is UTF-8. Up to now i haven't been able to get a PDF file that can be open from Adobe Acrobat Reader. Every file fails opening with message like "Adobe Reader could not open filename.pdf, because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged (for example, it was sent as an email attachment and wasn't correctly decoded). This happens for every report i have tried up to now. If i export report in CSV format all are ok.
Is there a known bug with PDF download of APEX?
TIASee this link: http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/database/application_express/html/configure_printing.html
FOP & Cocoon are free (just need to install the software and configure) Bi Publisher I believe works only for Standard Reports and no Interactive reports at this time.. If you have the $$ BI Publisher is worth the investment!!
Also, it is rumored that APEX 4.0 will have the PDF generation built in as apposed to the current model where you need to bolt something on..
Thank you,
Tony Miller
