Report Layout - Down then across

Is it possible to create a report layout that is down then accross
For example
Row1_Col1 Row2_Col1 Row3_Col1
Row1_Col2 Row2_Col2 Row3_Col2
Row1_Col3 Row2_Col3 Row3_Col3
Thanks
Paul

Hi Paul,
Yes, this is possible to do: [http://apex.oracle.com/pls/otn/f?p=267:92] (this is a very, very, basic version, just to give you an idea - obviously, more styling would need to be done to get it to look right on your page)
This is done using a "Named Column (row template)" report template.
For this example, on a new "Named Column (row template)" report template, I have the following settings:
Row Template 1:
<td class="t18Data">#1#<br>#2#<br>#3#<br>#4#<br>#5#</td>Before Rows:
<table cellpadding="0" border="0" cellspacing="0" summary="" class="t18Standard" id="#REGION_STATIC_ID#">
<tr><td class="t18Data" style="font-weight:bold; background-color:silver">EMPNO<br>ENAME<br>JOB<br>SAL<br>COMM</td>After Rows:
</tr></table>Hopefully, that will give you an idea of what you can do. Note that I haven't used the pagination settings on the template - you can copy these from the Standard report template if required.

  • Down then Across?

    I have data that is grouped in about five different ways vertically, then one way horizontally.
    Sample:
    Option 1 Option 2 Option 3
    Total 10 12 8
    New 7 9 6
    Deleted 2 0 10
    Rejected 0 2 3
    How do I get this done? The 'total' column is actually returned from the DB, so no actual calculations are required.

    Okay, I'll try to explain myself a bit better.
    I have some data that is broken up into groups. Most of the groups need to be printed down, but one needs to be printed across. I can get it to do the directions, but it doesn't seem to understand when to stop printing the across columns.

  • PDF Printing Issue - Customised Report Layout Error

    Hi,
    I am trying to get a PDF file output based on the customised RTF file created. I follow the following steps but I am facing an issue with that.
    (i) Go to Shared Components > Report Queries.
    (ii) Create a new Report query with more than one query.
    (iii) Using the XML Data in the Report queries, create a Report Layout (RTF) file.
    (iv) Navigate to shared components Report Layout and upload the RTF file.
    (v) Once this is done, use the Report Layout created in the Report Queries. Select the Layout name from the Drop Down.
    (vi) Click on TEST REPORT, this produces an error: Adobe Reader could not open the <file name> because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged (for example it was sent as an email attachment and wasn't correctly decoded )
    Additional Info
    The apex instance configured with Embbedded plsql, rdbms version is 11.1.0.7.0 and the BI publisher version 10.1.3.3.
    ISSUE DESC
    When I use mulitple Queries even after using Generic Report Layout I get the output for the first query alone in the PDF and the remaining Queries are ignored.
    And when i use a user defined template, then even If i have a single report query I get the error.
    To summarise, I am not able to use the customised Layouts.
    I have reproduced the issue in apex.oracle.com
    Please log in using,
    WORKSPACE: demo_test
    USER NAME: [email protected]
    pwd: vidhya
    After logging in please select the Application Builder.
    In that select the Application named PDF.
    Select the Shared components > Report Queries
    Select the Report Query named test.
    Click on the TEST REPORT button in the Source Queries Section.
    You will get the error.
    Now in the same page in the Report Query Attributes Section change the Report Layout to Use Generic Report Layout and then click on 'TEST REPORT', this will give the PDF file without errors.
    The same report has been called from the PRINT REPORT button provided in the page 1 of the application.
    This issue is really urgent and critical. Require your inputs/help.
    Thanks,
    Ramya

    I' an APEX newbie and believe I am having the same or a similar problem. I am (for now) developing a system using the hosted Apex development system online. I have created a Report Query which works fine with the default layout. I downloaded the XML (tried both sample data and schema) into Word 2007 with the BI Publisher Template Builder. I used the table wizard to create a simple layout containing all columns with no customization at all. Saved as an RTF, uploaded to Apex as a Report Layout, associated it with the Report Query, clicked Test Report -- and I got nothing.
    When the is a PDF, I get the same error you mention ( Adobe Reader could not open the <file name> because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged (for example it was sent as an email attachment and wasn't correctly decoded ). If I switch to an HTML file the out is just a blank screen.
    If I switch back to generic report layout, it works fine. This suggests there is something wrong with the template, though it looks fine in Word with the sample data.
    I've searched the forums and Google for the better part of a day. What am I missing?

  • Report Layout width(Report based on SQL Query)

    Is there any way to increase the width of the report layout? I have removed as many columns as I can and dropped the font size down but the data in the columns is still wrapping to more than one line. How can I increase the report layout width, or change the layout to landscape or something similar.
    thanks

    I had this problem with wrapping text. You have to create a Reports From SQL Query and choose a custom layout. Then when you go the the HTML layout section, you will need to ad nowrap to the <TD> tag (i.e. <TD nowrap>) for each field you do not want to wrap.

  • How to edit report layout

    I have a report layout and noticed there is 'Column Template Width'. The content of column Template width is '<fo:table-column column-width="#COLUMN_WIDTH#pt"/>'.
    I think i can change column width by modifing the code here. Does anyone know how to do it? Can you share with me your sample?

    If you modify an existing template, the changes will immediately go into effect across your application.
    That being said..
    1) Create a copy of the template.
    2) Modify an existing report to use the template copy by setting the appropriate template in the drop-down selection.
    3) Now you can start experimenting with individual settings.
    In the report template, there is a section where you can alter individual column designs such as the width. Normally, HTML will variably size the width of columns in a table to "fit" the contents on one line (if possible) and so that the entire table width can be displayed in the browser. If this is not possible the browser selects some middle point. If you wish to override the browser and manually set the column widths, you can use the Column Template Width setting to designate this. Simply replace "#COLUMN_WIDTH#pt" with your value: "80pt" for a fixed, 80pt width column.
    For more on column widths and other HTML standards, check out the w3schools.com site for great tutorials and demos.

  • Sales quote layout rows doubled in crystal report layout

    Dear All,
    Sales quote layout rows doubled in crystal report layout.
    In sales quote layout the rows are doubled. Even in the standard layout. If the quote contains only two rows. Then it is doubled as 4 rows in the crystal report layout.
    It is happening in the particular database. Other database are working fine. I request you people to help me to overcome this issue.

  • Vendor ageing report for down payment bucketwise

    Hi
    I have paid many downpayment to various vendors. Now i want the ageing report for the same (i.e. bucket wise i.e. 0-30 days, 31-60 days and so on).
    This i am getting for vendor invoices in TCode: S_ALR_87012085 (Vendor payment history with OI sorted list).
    Please let me know if the bucketwise report is possible for the downpayment too.

    Hi,
    Vendor ageing for down payments as well as invoice i use to see from T.code FBL1N by creating layouts.
    Choose Arreas after net due date from layout and for that column you can apply a rule that from 0 to Lessthan or equal to 30.
    Like that you can create the layouts. In FBL1N you can give this layout (down) so information come in that format.
    The one disadvantage is that you have to select manually the layouts and you can see only one ageing information at a time.
    Regards,
    Sankar

  • Custom Report Layout with mutliple child tables

    I am trying to create a custom report layout (using Bi Publisher) where I have parent data (multiple jobs on a page) and several child tables for each job (JobDays and JobStops) and several child tables for JobDays (JobDayProviders, JobDayCrew). On the apex screen, I have a join on Jobs and JobDays and I am using functions to string each child row value for JobDayProviders and JobDayCrew together and putting a <br> in between so that they will format on separate lines within a cell. It works fine on the screen but when trying to print to pdf, it ignores these line breaks. I have also tried using <br></br> (saw an article that said just use HTML in bi pulisher) which puts two lines in between each value on the screen and is still ignored on the pdf.
    for example:
    Table hierarchy:
    Jobs table
    Job Stops
    Job Days
    Job Day Service Providers
    Job Day Crew
    Report Layout per job (will have mutlipe jobs to print, just printing 1 day per job):
    Jobs.col1 JobStops.row1 JobDay.col1 JobDayProviders.row1 JobDayCrew.r1
    JobStops.row2 JobDayProviders.row2 JobDayCrew.r2
    JobDayProviders.row3
    Thanks,
    Linda
    First, is there a way to get bi publisher to recognize the line breaks? If not, what is the best way to create a custom report for this scenario? I tried to create a report query with mutliple queries, but cannot determine how to link the child queries to the paren query. I have seen an example where a button is pressed to print one parent row and the id of that row is saved and referenced as a parameter in each of the queries, but if printing mutliple parents on a report, how would I link the child queries to the parent query?

    Helen,
    The best way for your case is to use a content folder and customize it whichever way you like.
    however, your question is about reports. the problem in reports is this that you have to use just one single query and the layout of the results of this query are displayed in a peculiar way.
    anyway. something similar but not exactly the same as what you wanted do is the following.
    use a query like the following: (with a union in between)
    SELECT COLUMN1,NULL , NULL ,NULL ,NULL
    FROM my_source_table
    WHERE myCriteria LIKE 'SoAndSo%'
    UNION
    SELECT NULL,COLUMN2 , COLUMN3, COLUMN4, COLUMN5
    FROM my_source_table
    WHERE myCriteria LIKE 'SoAndSo%'
    ---------- Now, have the following codes in the layout segments:
    <!--- header --->
    <table border="0" cellpadding="1" cellspacing="1" width="20%" align="center">
    <!--- body --->
    <tr align="center">
    <td><table border="0" cellpadding="1" cellspacing="0" width="30%" align="center">
    <tr align="center">
    <TH><#COLUMN1.FIELD#></TH>
    </tr>
    </table>
    </td>
    <TD class="report_cell" ALIGN="LEFT"><#COLUMN2.FIELD#></TD>
    <TD class="report_cell" ALIGN="LEFT"><#COLUMN3.FIELD#></TD>
    <TD class="report_cell" ALIGN="LEFT"><#COLUMN4.FIELD#></TD>
    <TD class="report_cell" ALIGN="LEFT"><#COLUMN5.FIELD#></TD>
    </tr>
    <!--- footer --->
    <TR><TD></TD></TR>
    this should produce a report with a table structure (you may see the whole if you give BORDER="1" in the main table tag). Within this table, the first column of the first row should be showing top-leftmost column value once (COLUMN1 value) and then the next rows would show last four column values as a table block on the right-bottom part.
    with kind regards,
    naqvi

  • Purchase Order Crystal Report Layout Error

    The stock Crystal Report Layout for Purchase Orders is giving me the following error:
    A subscript must be between 1 and the size of the array.
    Details: errorKind
    Error in File POR20002 {b89f97ad-bf1f-447b-8bb4-b3d2e5219269}

    Error in formula N_Decimal_Places:
    '// To get the length of decimals
    A subscript must be between 1 and the size of the array.
    Details: errorKind
    I looked in the Crystal Reports Formula fields and could not find N_Decimal_Places.
    Has any one else had the problem with the PO layout that comes with Business One?  If so, how did you fix it?

    Couldn't find how to copy the PO layout over using copy express.
    I did compare the RDOC fields for POR20002 in both databases and they are Identical.
    In Crystal Reports, I did a formula search for N_Decimal_Places and it found nothing.  Then I did a search for 'length' in all formulas and it finds length in N_Decimal_Places.  When I double click on N_Decimal_Places it clears the screen and never shows the formula. This happens in both layouts for my test database and SBODemoUS.
    Again, SBODemoUS works correctly and AAA_TEST give the error.

  • Set As Default Crystal Report Layout in SAP B1 8.8 PL13

    Hi,
    I want to Set As Default a Crystal Report Layout. I know you can do that in Layout Desginer - Selection Criteria, but SAP B1 8.8 PL 13 has only a Manage Layout button in the Layout Desginer window which links to the Report and Layout Manager. There is no Set As Default button.
    Where can you select which layout to be default in PL13?
    Thanks!

    Hi
    If you want to Set as Default particular PLD then Open that Form
    For. Example
    Sales Ar > A/R Invocies (Item) document
    Then Click on PLD icon ans select your crystal report as Default by Set as Defaul button.

  • Crystal Report Layout asking for Login Info

    I have modified the Delivery Note Crystal Report Layout for Business One by clicking the Edit button on the Report and Layout Manager for Delivery Note (Items).  I then saved my modifications to a file.  Finally, I go into Business One and import the Layout for Delivery Note (Items).  When I preview the Layout it asks me for login information then continues to fail.  How dow I make it so I can print the Delivery without having to constantly log in?

    Hi Jeff,
    I recently had a similar problem on an 8.82 implementation, having contacted and spoken to SAP Support multiple times these suggested fixes worked:
    The request to login to the database when you open or print preview a Crystal
    report is a known issue. To resolve this, I recommend you go through our Root
    Cause Analysis (RCA) guide. Please see attac hed Note 1676353 on where to find
    this. There are four Cases in this guide (which contain a number of Influences)
    - please go through all Cases and Influences.
    We also tried the following:
    STEP 1:
    Influence 2: Case 2 is to clear all the data for login (e.g. sa and
    password - delete them) and then ticked 'Integrated Security#.
    - Influence
    3: #: Check the current datasource is to update connection.
    - Retest opening
    the system reports on a workstation.
    - If they are still reporting an error
    try the next step
    - STEP 2:
    - Change the datasource location of
    the report from OLE DB to SAP Business One type and leave the
    authentication
    information blank. Try running the report in Crystal, and then import to SAP.
    And also opened up the Crystal Report via the Edit button in SAP in Reports and Layouts Manager, we then clicked on the database connection and updated all the tables (even though they were the same) and these got the reports needed working. Speaking to SAP it is a known bug and they are releasing a hotfix to resolve it, but try explaining that to a customer !!!
    Hope these help.
    Regards
    Sean

  • Crystal Report Layout

    Hi Expert.
    I created a report layout in crystal report that I will be attaching in an add-on program which is a document type for report viewing via PLD.  However, as i was setting up my layout in the report layout manager, I cannot point my layout in the document addon that I created.
    Is there a way to add my addon in the list of modules in the report layout manager?

    No it is not possible.
    What you can do: import you crystal layout as "normal report" and active the menu when you would like to print out the document. You can pass parameters, and show the print preview. then you can click on print button via code.

  • How to add/create additional page in Crystal Report Layout SAP B1

    Hi,
    I wanna ask about How to add/create additional page in Crystal Report Layout SAP B1 ?
    I want when user print Purchase Order then on last page also print some page like Penalty Clause etc.
    Pls help me to find the solution.
    Br,
    Thomas Marsetyo

    Hi,
    In your report footer, set it to create a new page before it is printed (In 'Section Expert', select the Report Footer -> 'Paging' tab -> Check 'New Page Before' checkbox). Throw your Terms & Conditions into the Report Footer section.
    If you already have a Report Footer that you want to keep, just split the footer into two sections (Right-click the Report Footer section -> 'Insert Section Below') and follow the same procedure for the newly created section.

  • Number of Copies in Crystal Report Layout

    Hi all,
    Is it possible to show the number of copy in a Crystal Report layout?
    I mean: I am creating an invoice layout in Crystal Reports for SAP Business One 8.8.
    Customer wants to print always 3 copies, but with the word "Copy" in second and third document.
    I can set the number of printed copies but... is it possible to include a reference of what number of copy is every document?
    Sorry for any language mistake.
    Kind Regards,
    Toni Dorta

    Hi Toni,
    If the customer always prints  3 copies of the Invoice, here is what you could do. You could design your Crystal Report to always print 3 copies. That is, if your Invoice has 1 page, then design your Crystal Report to Print 3 pages every time. On the 2nd and 3rd page, you include the word "Copy" to indicate that they are copies.
    Once you have modified the report, change the No: of Printed copies to 1. This when the customer prints the report, it will always print 3 copies of the report and have the word "Copy" on the 2nd and 3rd invoices.
    Hope this helps.

  • Report & Layout Manager

    Hi,
    I have created User defined form. Now i have to display report when click on Preview button (Same as Standard document).
    Can we use report & layout manager to display report.
    Regards,
    Pravin

    Hello
    possible with development, and it is pending from the B1 version.
    Easy solutions are:
    - 8.81 you can use Crystal Reports and PLD
    - 2007 you can use PLD only or CR integration addon
    in Crystal:
    - You can create your layout and you can import into the system as report (not layout) into a specific folder
    - When you press the print or print preview button (eg menu action is indicated, menu id "520", "519"), then you can find the crystal report in the OCMN table with the following query
    select MenuUID from OCMN where Name = N'YOUR_REPORT_NAME'
    - next step is call the report with ActivateMenuItem and fill the parameters.
    Complete code for crystal
                Dim oRs As SAPbobsCOM.Recordset = oCompany.GetBusinessObject(BoObjectTypes.BoRecordset)
                Dim sQuery As String
                Dim sMenuID As String
                sQuery = "select MenuUID from OCMN where Name = N'YOUR_REPORT_NAME"
                oRs.DoQuery(sQuery)
                If oRs.Fields.Count > 0 Then
                    sMenuID = oRs.Fields.Item("MenuUID").Value.ToString
                    m_SBO_Application.ActivateMenuItem(sMenuID)
                    Dim oForm As SAPbouiCOM.Form = SBO_Application.Forms.ActiveForm
                    oForm.Items.Item("1000003").Specific.String = docentry
                    m_CrystalCriteriaFormID = oForm.UniqueID
                    oForm.Items.Item("1").Click(BoCellClickType.ct_Regular)
                Else : m_SBO_Application.MessageBox("NO PRINTING LAYOUT EXISTS!")
                End If
    In PLD, the logic is the same, but you must activate the User Queries print layout, and locate the report in the matrix.
    Regards
    János
