Reports excuting in different sap version

Hi All,
I am downloading Reports from 3.1G to SAP R/3 Enterprise version and executing. Many reports not giving me the output even data is available. Can anyone tell me what could be the main reasons, if anyone already come across.

So if your programs are correct, is your data still <i>exactly</i> the same? Maybe some user-exits had filled additional fields - which are now empty and your selects don't find anymore something.
Also some standard tables are filled in a different way - or just simply some customizing has changed and document types / line types / ... are different now.
Check, if your data is really same as in 3.1G system.

Yes. In the ecatt script you have the option under ATTRIBUTES --> VERISONING DATA you can restrict it to different software components and different releases.

Open dataset statement in different SAP versions

Hi ,
I have to write a program which is for extracting data from application server. I have to run this program on different sap versions like, 4.6b, 4.6c, 4.7, 5.0 . I am using 'OPEN DATASET' statement in my program. But the problem is, in versions below 4.6c, this statement is written as "OPEN DATASET filename FOR READING IN TEXT MODE".
And in versions above 4.7 it is written as "OPEN DATASET filename FOR READING IN TEXT MODE DEFAULT ENCODING".
So when this statement will be executed in versions below 4.6c, it will give syntax errors.
Can you let me know how to solve this problem.

Transporting a Crystal Report to a different SAP landscape

I have developed a Crystal Report in our development SAP landscape. I have published it and am able to view it in Infoview. I would now like to transport that report to our test SAP landscape. How do I transport my Crystal Report? I have looked in the SAP Integration Kit Users Guide, Installation Guide and the Admininistration Guide with no luck. I have also searched the Knowledge Base. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

in case you saved the report to the BW system via the SAP menus in the CR Designer then you can use the standard transport mechnism from the SAP system

File download via BSP using different SAP versions

I have been using code based on Brian McKellar's excellent Blog (/people/mark.finnern/blog/2003/09/23/bsp-programming-handling-of-non-html-documents). The code works great in the following system:

However i am now trying the same code in our new 7.00 SAP system which is a

Total No of pages different in report printed using Crystal Report XI R2 vs SAP Crystal Reports, developer version for Microsoft Visual Studio (File Version 13.8)

Currently in our application, we are using Crystal Report XI R2 for generating the reports. We are in the process of upgrading the Crystal Report to SAP Crystal Reports, developer version for Microsoft Visual Studio (File Version 13.8). I updated that on my machine and all the reports work fine. I didn't have to modify any of the reports.
However when comparing the reports, we found that there are few reports on which the total no. of pages differ from the report displayed using Crystal Report XI R2 vs SAP Crystal Reports, developer version for Microsoft Visual Studio (File Version 13.8). Comparing the reports, it looks all the data that were fit on one page earlier with version XI R2 doesn't fit on the same page with version 13.8, thereby increasing the page counts.
The fonts, page margins everything set on report itself. Nothing being set in the code.
Both the application is using the same report that is pulling the data from the same database. Our application is a web application.
Any suggestion, why this is happening.

CRXI R2 designer to CRVS?
CR XI R2 in some version of .NET to CRVS?
CR XI R2 using RDC SDK to CRVS?
Also, is this happening on your development computer or after you deploy?
If you compare the the "Page setup" options dialog between reports that work and those that do not work, do you see any difference?
Is this a web or a win app?
Are you seeing the same issue when viewing and exporting - say export to PDF?
What is the printer driver used and it's version?

Single Crystal Report based on Five different SAP BEx Quries.

Hi,
I need to create 5 different Charts (in a single report) based on five different SAP BW BEx Queries. These are charts with 3- axes i.e. X,Y,Z.
The example requirement is to create Line charts (Vertical Mixed Line Charts) and deatils are as follows: The chart should show CPU Utilization % for different servers (eg. Servers1,2,3,4,5) for each day in a particular month.
Axes details:
X- Axis - Date eg: 01 /09/2010 to 30/09/2010
Y-Axis - CPU Utilisation Percent
Z-Axis - Servers from 1 to 5
The above detailed chart comes from a BEx Query . In this way there are four more BEx queries which should give four other charts.
My queries are:
1. Is this possible to create a single report using five different BEx queries and Create 5 different charts(one chart from each BEx Query) in a single tab as in the current manual report.(All the five Line charts should be downloadable to a single sheet in Excel)
2. One more, should I use Crystal Reports only? The charts are of high format natute so Web Intelligence will not produce the same. Is any other tool that helps for this requirement.
3. I can create five different Universes based on BEx Queries. Is this possible to create a single report from five different Universes.
Please advise.

To start with you cannot use SAP BW universes in Crystal Reports., YOu have to use the BW MDX driver.
For performance reasons I would suggest to add 4 subreports into your main reports containing each on of the 4 remaining charts.

Question: What are the different ways to generate reports and to link reports\programs across the SAP system. I know about BW, RRI, ABAP language, CRYSTAL.

bex analyser:
(reports displayed in normal excell)
web application:
(publishing above reports in web)
formated reporting:
(crystal reports)
mobile intelligence:
(view reports in mobiles)

Different JVM versions in a SAP system

I have an SAP system which consist of 3 servers, and 2 of them have jvm version - 1.4.2_17-b06 and the other one has JVM version 1.4.2_12-b03, so i wanted to know will this setup affect the system/performance

As per my knowledge it wont effect your sytem performance,you can still proceed with what you have now but its better to have same JAVA version

How to execute one sap gui script in different SAP system component versions.

Hi Experts,
I am having a task to write a script which can be executed in different SAP systems , explained as below.
I have created a script to do password reset for mass users in one system (TC6) & it's working fine. But when i load same script in other system(QR5) to do the same activity , the system unable to execute the same script.
One thing i found that by comparing in the two systems that the screen-ids in QR5 system is different than TC6 system.
My question
1-> why it is different even though the scripting language is same.
2-> How can i overcome it & make a common script for all the systems.
Please help me to resolve this.

From the above it's clear that the screen IDs in both the systems are different as the program-me name is different for the same TA (SU01) in both the systems.
Now can you please advise how i will go with both to handle in one script (I can't put a check condition to call different scripts for the specific systems as in my landscape there are more that 100 systems).

Financial Statements - different db tables cross SAP versions

We have configured one SAP client (SAP Enterprise) dealing with all master data (e.g. vendors). The master data is distributed via ALE or transports cross the different SAP systems holding all transactional data (e.g. orders..).
Currently we are in an upgrade process of those transactional systems from a 4.5b system to mySAP ERP 2005 and noticed that SAP Enterprise/4.5b holds the financial statements data in tables T011 T011T and RFDT while mySAP ERP 2005 uses T011 T011T and replaced RFDT by different FAGL-011* tables.
From a distribution point of view it's no longer possible to use the transport or a custom ALE process on table level... so we are looking for advices.

Following are the basic differences as far as MM Module is concerned;
Pickup list - Batch where-used list display in transaction MB56
u2022 Until release 4.7, the top-down and bottom-up analyses in the function pickup list for batch where-used list (transaction MB5C) were displayed only in the form of simple output lists. As of release 6.00 of SAP ERP Central Component, the function pickup list for batch where-used list branches to the batch where-used list itself (transaction MB56).
u2022 In addition, user can define how the data in the batch where-used list is displayed, in the initial screen.
u2022 User can use all the settings available in the batch where-used list. For example, he can expand transfer posting or display vendor batch. However, it is not possible to limit the selection to valid plants in the initial screen of the pickup list.
Usability enhancements for transaction MIGO for the posting of goods movements
u2022 For goods movements that refer to purchase orders as reference documents (for example, goods receipt, goods issue, subsequent adjustment), user can specify the ordering plant as an additional selection criterion directly next to the purchase order number and the item number.
u2022 There is a new default value: "copy account assignment fields." When entering other goods receipts, user can copy existing account assignment data from the previous item to use as the default values for a new item. This functionality is characterized as follows:
u2022 User can trigger prepayment of vendor invoices in logistics invoice verification.
u2022 User use the prepayment function for vendors with whom organisation has a good, long-standing relationship.
u2022 The function enables payment soon after issue of the invoice and full exploitation of the date of required payment and existing cash discounts, by posting the vendor liabilities, taxes, and cash discounts in financial accounting in advance.
u2022 The software executes the payment of the invoice regardless of the relevant goods receipt and the outcome of the invoice verification check.
u2022 Most logistics invoice verification standard functions are not affected by the prepayment function.
u2022 When the software posts invoices, it continues to execute the standard checks.
u2022 If the software has already posted the prepayment document, user can make only restricted changes to the header fields of the invoice.

Creating a Crystal Report from a non-SAP data base

I have the following scenario
server1\myDataBase
server1\SAP\sapDataBases
in sapDataBases I have about 30 company databases. I am trying to create a report, that gets informatino from a table/view/SP from server1\myDataBase, when I try to PREVIEW or SAVE such report on SAP Business One, I always get errors as
I understand that this eerror means taht I can't invoke the data from out of SAP; it needs to be inside SAP (at least the SP, incoking some other data bases and stuff..)
Some bodies have told me that it is beacuase I can only create a report from a table/view/sp that resides in the running/currently SAP company database. Is this right?
Also, If this is the case, this means that If I have an SP taht I use for a crystal report, and 30 companies, I have to create such SP in the 30 companies?
This is my software details:
SQL Server 2012
SAP Business One 9 PL 11
SAP BusinessObjects Crystal Reports 2013 Support Pack 2 version 14.1.2.1121
What I want to do is to create a non-SAP data base to create all the SPs/Views for reports, to centralize it, and the just create one reporte and do the 30-imports in each company database, without the need of creating such sps/views in each company-database. Is this possible?

1. Situation
OS: windows 2000 pro English
Java version: jdk 1.5.x was already installed. (Its not permitted to change.)
I dont have any authorization to install any software on the PC.
But I need to use an Integration Builder.
I already knew URLs of an Integration Builder (http://<hostname>:50000/rep/start/repository.jnlp).
2. How To Do
At this moment, an Integration Builder (XI 3.0) can be launch under jre 1.4.x environment (on windows).
2.1 jre preparation
I download j2re-1_4_2_10-windows-i586-p.exe from http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.2/download.html
I installed it on my home PC and copied all files from C:\Program Files\Java\ j2re1.4.2_10\ into my USB.
2.2 Put them into the system
I pasted j2re1.4.2_10 folder from my USB into the windows 2000 pro system.
Finally, I could list up all of javaws.exe under this system.

I executed c:\j2re1.4.2_10\javaws\javaws.exe .
2.4 Change Java Runtime Versions
Go to File-> Preferences -> Java
As you can see, it indicates 1.5 version.
Click [FIND] button.
Click [NEXT] button.
Click the j2re1.4.2_10 folder.
Click [NEXT] button.
A JRE Finder is able to find javaw.exe automatically. Or you can indicate C:\j2re1.4.2_10\bin\javaw.exe directly.
Click [NEXT] button.
Finally, there are two Java Runtime Versions. Now you need to uncheck the Enabled column of 1.5 version and check 1.4 version.
Click [OK] button.
Well, in the General tab, I selected None for Proxies.
2.5 Launch an Integration Builder
In the Location field, I typed the URL of an Integration Builder jnlp.
http://<hostname>:50000/rep/start/repository.jnlp
SAP Integration Builder comes up inside Applications area.
Select it and click [Start] button.
If you click Environment-> Integration Builder (Configuration), you can launch Integration Builder: Configuration.

I am not getting anywhere with deploying my application or
applet.
I have set up my bc4j project. It contains all my VO info,
links, application module. (proj a)
I then have another project with DbInfo in it(has all my rowset
info), Multiple Frames, and my Applet.java file.
Actually I have an Applet.java file and a Application.java file
because I was seeing if both/either worked. Anyway they seem the
same, except for that extra window that comes up when you run the
applet.
I follow the steps in the oracle directions (from earlier post).
And all seems ok. But at ---->

is located, and enter the directory path of the 'staging'
directory you
created in step 3 above, if different from the default.</li>

I have no HTML file associated with my applet, at least that I
know of.
So do I need to create one, or should it of been done
automatically.
Also, I trying to figure out what will be the best way to deploy
my project. Applet or stand alone application is what my first
choices have been so far. I have read that there is some issues
with applets being served from a different server than the
database. So a stand alone application was my front runner, but
I haven't gotten either way to work yet.
