Requirement to save a report into a SAP BW role

Hi all,
I trying to find out why it is necessary to have an entry in Menu tab of the SAP BW Role to which I want to save my crystal reports? If I do not have entry (a transaction/URL etc.) in Menu tab, the role does not even appear in the list of roles I can save my report to.
Also, if it is not required to have an entry in Menu tab, what else could stop a report to get saved in a SAP BW role? And if this a requirement, is it documented anywhere?
Thank you,
Inder

HI Ingo,
Thank you for confirming.
Has it been documented anywhere, I did not see it in any guide or note anywhere...
Thank you,
IMS

  • How to save BI report into normal excel sheet in Bex Analyzer

    Hi Experts,
    version of  Bex Analyzer:
    Bi addon 7.x
    support package 7,patch 1
    version 7004.4.0.5
    excel-2003
when i am trying to save the report into excel in Bex Analyzer as below:
    file-save as->Microsoft excel work.
when I open excel I am getting pop up windowu201Dthis file contains macros  with an expired or revoked signature.Since your running under  high security level, these macros will be disabled.u201D
when I click ok I am getting one more pop upwindow as u201Cmacros  are diabled because the security level is set to high and a digitally signed trusted certificate is not attached to macros.to run the macros, change the security level to a lower setting(not recommended),or request the macros signed by the author  using a certificate  issued by a certificate authority.
what are these macros? why i am getting this pop up windows
When i opened  the excel report is not looks like general excel report.how can I generate general excel report .I should not want to get excel report as in bex analyzer.I donu2019t want to have author ,status of data, chart, filter, information in excel report.
what settings I have to made to save the report in general excel format.
As i am new to Bi please correct me if i am wrong.
    Anything is appreciable.
    regards,
    naresh.

Macros in general are nothing but piece of code in excel.
To allow unsigned macros to run, the Trust all installed add-ins and templates check box must be selected on the Trusted Publishers tab of the Security dialog box. This option is selected by default. If it is not selected (recommended), Excel allows you to run only macros that have trusted digital signatures.
    1. On the Tools menu, point to Macro, and then click Security.
    2. On the Trusted Publishers tab, select the Trust all installed add-ins and templates check box.

  • How to add a report into the SAP-SCRIPT .using PERFORM ......ENDPERFORM

My question is that How to add a report into the SAP-SCRIPT .
    by using PERFORM ......ENDPERFORM
I don't know how to used it .

    Hi Sandeep,
    Please check this link

    Calling ABAP Subroutines: PERFORM
You can use the PERFORM command to call an ABAP subroutine (form) from any program, subject to the normal ABAP runtime authorization checking. You can use such calls to subroutines for carrying out calculations, for obtaining data from the database that is needed at display or print time, for formatting data, and so on.
PERFORM commands, like all control commands, are executed when a document is formatted for display or printing. Communication between a subroutine that you call and the document is by way of symbols whose values are set in the subroutine.
    Syntax in a form window:
    /: PERFORM <form> IN PROGRAM <prog>
    /: USING &INVAR1&
    /: USING &INVAR2&
    /: CHANGING &OUTVAR1&
    /: CHANGING &OUTVAR2&
    /: ENDPERFORM
INVAR1 and INVAR2 are variable symbols and may be of any of the four SAPscript symbol types.
OUTVAR1 and OUTVAR2 are local text symbols and must therefore be character strings.
The ABAP subroutine called via the command line stated above must be defined in the ABAP report prog as follows:
FORM <form> TABLES IN_TAB STRUCTURE ITCSY
    OUT_TAB STRUCTURE ITCSY.
    ENDFORM.
The values of the SAPscript symbols passed with /: USING... are now stored in the internal table IN_TAB . Note that the system passes the values as character string to the subroutine, since the field Feld VALUE in structure ITCSY has the domain TDSYMVALUE (CHAR 80). See the example below on how to access the variables.
The internal table OUT_TAB contains names and values of the CHANGING parameters in the PERFORM statement. These parameters are local text symbols, that is, character fields. See the example below on how to return the variables within the subroutine.
From within a SAPscript form, a subroutine GET_BARCODE in the ABAP program QCJPERFO is called. Then the simple barcode contained there (u2018First pageu2019, u2018Next pageu2019, u2018Last pageu2019) is printed as local variable symbol.
    Definition in the SAPscript form:
/: PERFORM GET_BARCODE IN PROGRAM QCJPERFO
    /: USING &PAGE&
    /: USING &NEXTPAGE&
    /: CHANGING &BARCODE&
    /: ENDPERFORM
    / &BARCODE&
Coding of the calling ABAP program:
    REPORT QCJPERFO.
FORM GET_BARCODE TABLES IN_PAR STUCTURE ITCSY
    OUT_PAR STRUCTURE ITCSY.
DATA: PAGNUM LIKE SY-TABIX, "page number
NEXTPAGE LIKE SY-TABIX. "number of next page
READ TABLE IN_PAR WITH KEY u2018PAGEu2019.
    CHECK SY-SUBRC = 0.
    PAGNUM = IN_PAR-VALUE.
READ TABLE IN_PAR WITH KEY u2018NEXTPAGEu2019.
    CHECK SY-SUBRC = 0.
    NEXTPAGE = IN_PAR-VALUE.
READ TABLE IN_PAR WITH KEY u2018BARCODEu2019.
    CHECK SY-SUBRC = 0.
    IF PAGNUM = 1.
    OUT_PAR-VALUE = u2018|u2019. "First page
    ELSE.
    OUT_PAR-VALUE = u2018||u2019. "Next page
    ENDIF.
    IF NEXTPAGE = 0.
    OUT_PAR-VALUE+2 = u2018Lu2019. "Flag: last page
    ENDIF.
    MODIFY OUT_PAR INDEX SY-TABIX.
    ENDFORM.
    Best regards,

  • SAP tables used to fetch role names into 'Lookup.SAP.UM.Roles'

SAP User Management Lookup Recon schedule task is used to populate all the Lookup's defined in 'Lookup.SAP.CUA.LookupMappings'. In case of the lookup 'Lookup.SAP.UM.Roles', the description of the SAP Role is populated in Decode value.
In our environment, the SAP role description is changed in the table 'USRSYSACTT' for both LANGU types 'E' and 'D'. However, when we run the schedule job, we are unable to see the updated value of description in the lookup 'Lookup.SAP.UM.Roles'. Please let us know which SAP table is actually being used to fetch the role information in OIM.

    Dear Satish,
Do you have any red alerts on top of your change request?
If yes, you cannot change the status of this change request.
Do a double click on the alert flag and clear/maintain any alerts first.
I had just the same problem.

  • Integrating BI reports into portals

    Hi All,
I have a requirement to integrate BI reports into portals.  But i dont have any idea regarding this.  I dont whether I am posting this thread in a correct forum.  If not please correct me.
Can anyone suggest what are the basic steps?
    Regards,
    Subashini.

Create a BI System in the Portal Create a BI System in the Portal:
The BI system must be set up in the portal so that content from BI can be displayed there. The system is entered in the Portal System Landscape Directory.
    Procedure
    1.  Log on to the portal.
            2.  Start the iView System Administration ® System Configuration ® System Landscape.
            3.  In the context menu of the System Landscape folder in the portal catalog, choose New ® System.
            4. Choose SAP System with Dedicated Application Server for SAP System as the template.
            5. Now set the properties of WAS ,ITS,CONNECTOR and USER MAPPING:
    Input Field Details
    System Name     Type     Properties
Business Intelligence  SAP system with dedicated application server.
    ITS
    ITS  description
    Host name
    Path
    Protocal
    WAS Description
    Host name
    Path
    Protocal

    SAP Client
    SAP System ID(SID)
    SAP System Number
    User Mapping

If the connection tests fails and says that system aliases needs to be defined, go for the display properties
of the system to add u201Asystem aliasu2018.
Finally test for he connections which needs to be in green i.e. system is configured from Portal to BI.
Rest all the information about how to integrate BW with portal i gave you in the previous reply also after configuring System You need to create ivew workset and role covered in previous mail.
    Please reward with points.

  • Error when saving Crystal Report into BOE

    Hi there,
I'm having problem on saving rpt (with parameter) into BOE.
My rpt is working fine in Crystal Report 2008.
I've tried to Add Crystal Report using Save As, and returned error:
Error Message: Failed to read data from report file: abc.rpt.
Reason: Failed to read parameter object.
However, it working fine when I add crystal report (no parameter) using Save As.
Would appreciate is there anyone can help on this error.
    Many thanks!

    Hi Yann,
As you have created a dynamic parameter in the Crystal Reports, the error message occurs because the user or group who created the LOV does not have the appropriate rights in Business View Manager. If you have installed Business Objects Enterprise on the same machine, then please try the following workaround:
    1. Log on to Business View Manager as administrator.
    2. Click View > Repository Explorer.
    3. Right-click Dynamic Cascading Prompts. Click Edit Rights.
    4. Click the appropriate user or group receiving the error.
    5. Click the Granted option for the right to View, Edit & Set Security rights.
    6. Click OK. Close Business View Manager.
Now try to save the report into Enterprise and see the results.

Yes, Power View in Excel  doesn't support export to Power Point. Only Power view in SharePoint mode supports export to Power Point. You can refer the link

  • How to upload reports into OBIEE

I have a zipped file containing many reports for OBIEE (ver 11.1.1.6.2).
My OBIEE is running on Linux.
They are specifically for Oracle Utilities.
How do I load them into OBIEE?
    thanks

Those have not helped. But I thank you
    for suggesting something.
    So more information for everyone...
I have an rtf file, which is the report definition and its associated xdm file
if I log into obiee and proceed to create new report. I then select use an existing
data model. When the next popup shows, i select cancel.
at this point i am at the untitled data model screen. I select the upload rtf
    on bottom left corner.
i then can browse to my folder with all report definitions, and data models
    and select one.
I then select rtf in the first drop down, english in the next dropdown
and put a name in the layout name. I can then save the report into my shared
    folder and save it.
Now, if i try to create new data model i dont have the option of uploading
so i have navigated to catalog then pick the folder i want my data model to go into.
I then can upload here, browse to the directory and pick the xdm file.
it does in fact upload, however it is not associated with a data model(doenst know it is)
and show up as an external binary file(hover over it once uploaded).
Does anyone know how to change the association to a data model?
or just upload a data model??
    thanks in advance

  • How to save the data of ABAP report into a notepad in desktop location???

    HI all,
Can any one tell me how to transfer the data of ABAP report into a Notepad.
Actually I have to schedule a ABAP report in background on daily basis and I want to transfer the
    whole record into Notepad.
If any program is available for this..please clearify the relevent code for transferring.
    Thanks
    Rajeev

declare a character type internal table.
now move your data from it_data ( internal table with data ) into table itab.
since you are running this report in background, you cannot save it to the desktop. Instead give any app server location
data: itab(400) occurs 0 with header line.
    field-symbols: <fs1> type any.
    data: gv_file type rlgrap-filename default 'TEST.TXT'.
    data: gv_filepath type rlgrap-filename default <path>.
    LOOP AT it_data.
        DO 100 TIMES.
ASSIGN COMPONENT sy-index OF STRUCTURE it_data TO <fs1>.
          IF sy-subrc = 0.
CONCATENATE itab <fs1> INTO itab SEPARATED BY ' '.
          ELSE.
            EXIT.
          ENDIF.
        ENDDO.
SHIFT itab LEFT DELETING LEADING ' '.
        APPEND itab.
        CLEAR itab.
      ENDLOOP.
      concatenate gv_filepath '/' gv_file into gv_file.
OPEN DATASET gv_file FOR OUTPUT IN TEXT MODE ENCODING DEFAULT.
      IF sy-subrc = 0.
        LOOP AT itab.
          TRANSFER itab TO gv_file.
        ENDLOOP.
        CLOSE DATASET gv_file.
      ENDIF.

  • How to save each section report into different excel sheet?

    Hi all
How to save each section report into different excel sheet?
I have a report in which there are 4 sections north south west east now i need to save north in excel sheet 1 , south in sheet2, west in sheet3, and east in sheet4. under each section there is list report.
Please let me know is it possible are not if possible let me no the procedure to be followed.
    Thank you

If you're running XI 3.1 you might be able to solve this as follows.
    1. Create four users: east, west, north, south
    2. Create a profile that filters on the variable you used for the section/break
    3. Publish the report
3.1 Set users created above to be the enterprise recipients
3.2 Add personalization (the profile created above)
3.3 Check the Deliver objects to each user in Destinations
(3.4 You could use %SI_OWNER% to get a nice suffix to the report name)
This should cause four reports to be created, each with its own "personalized" contents.
