Reset Form Submit State

Is it possible to reset the form submit state? I have a page with many input components, some of which are set to "Auto-Submit on Change". When submitting, a new window is opened with the report results.
I need the user to go back to the original input page and change some of the original input fields. However, when doing so the page is submitted by just changing one of the Auto-Submit input components. I would like to be able to reset the form submit state (or the hyperlink submit state), so that the page is not auto-submitted when changing input fields.
Thanks,
Dan

  • Reset Form button showing as Submit Form button?

    Hello....
    I have run into an odd issue that I can not figure out.  For the past year, I have been creating and manually distributing various forms to our Sales Engineering group and outside partners.  These forms are all designed from a common template we developed that includes a standard “Reset Form” button.  Upon sending out a new form, I received an email with a screen shot that showed the Reset Form button as “Submit Form”.  The partner went on to say that they thought it was the same as another form they have from me, which also shows a Reset Button as “Submit Form”
    The end user states they are using Adobe 8.1.4.  The forms were developed (9 Pro) LC Designer ES 8.2 and are set to be 8.0 or higher compatible.  This is the first time I have heard of this and cannot figure out the cause.  The label on the canned button itself is being changed from Reset to Submit.
    Does anyone have any thoughts as to what would cause this and how to correct?  I can not assume that this is the only time this has happened, but it is the first I am hearing of it.
    Thank you and my apologies if this should have gone to another forum group

    I have not heard of this before .....can you send the template to [email protected] so I can investigate? Please include a description of the issue in the email.

  • A question About SUBMIT statement

    Hi,
    By SUBMIT statement, i can trigger another report. If the called report runs into dump, how can i detech/catch the dump in the calling report? I tested. It seems impossible to catch the dump. The calling report will also dump.
    My question is, if the called report runs into dump, how to detect the dump and avoid dump in calling report?
    Thanks in advance,
    Best Regards, Johnney.

    hi
    you can catch this kind of error or exeption from the respective report
    then pass this error or exeception to the calling report
    go through the  example I  am giving , ti have done it like this only
    SUBMIT zgurep03 AND RETURN WITH SELECTION-TABLE li_seltab .

  • Submit statement without executing AT SELECTION SCREEN event

    hi,
      In my report since the input data is very large iam spliiting the input data batch by batch. Iam executing the report for the first batch input data and retriving the results for it.
       Then to find the result for the enxt batch input data , iam using submit statement to execute the report again. While executing the report now it should directly start from the start-of-selection event only. It should not go for At selection screen or initialization events.
    Can anyone help me how to execute the report for second time from start-of-selection event.
    Regards,
    Phyrose.

    Is code written directly under START-OF-SELECTION or you are calling subroutine in START-OF-SELECTION?
    I would suggest you to call the subroutines written under START-OF-SELECTION.
    PERFORM form IN PROGRAM prog.

  • Dout in Submit statement in print program....

    Hi all,
    In my print program, after printing my forms i need to call another print program. For this im using SUBMIT statement.
    I hope my print program goes to an update task. So when it encounters a function module or submit statement it coming out of the print program.
    The same logic is working fine when i click 'PRINT PREVIEW' button in the shop papers list of IW32 Transaction. But the control comes out of the program when i go through the PRINT button in the IW32 transaction.
    Im not sure whether the control is coming out cuz of any update task.
    So please help on this. It's urgent.
    Thanks,

    SUBMIT always starts new LUW. Not sure if I understand the rest of your "doubt"... You might want to read a bit more on the LUW concept and also check the ABAP documentation on SUBMIT.

    but i am getting error like this in IE.
    Note
    The following error text was processed in the system IT3 : Exception condition "CNTL_ERROR" raised.
    The error occurred on the application server itcsvr_IT3_01 and in the work process 0 .
    The termination type was: RABAX_STATE
    The ABAP call stack was:

    MOVE <FS_TAB>[] TO it_qttrans[].
    Here it_qttrans is local itab of BSP.

  • Feature Request / Form Submit

    There are a couple of improvements I believe would make
    Spry's "form submit" much better:
    1. It needs to (optionally) clear input from each field upon
    successful submittion (ie. return to default value). Of course this
    behavior automatically happens with a normal html form. When form
    is being used in a database application, clearing previously
    entered data is counterproductive.
    2. It would be nice if "form submit" reset cursor focus to
    specified field upon submittion. Once again, this would help Spry
    action resemble function of normal html form.
    On my current application, I am still struggling with
    resetting my form as described above. Any help would be
    appreciated.

    This should do the trick:
    <script type="text/javascript">
    function resetForm(myForm){
    myForm.reset();
    </script>
    <form name="
    frmName" method="post" action="whatever.php"
    onSubmit="return Spry.Utils.submitForm(this,
    resetForm('frmName');">
    Of course you can extend the functionality of the callback
    function (resetForm) with other actions you would like to see
    performed after the update has taken place.

    (also, note that you should advice that you need 5 digits in the ZIP field.
    Fill the field with 3 digits to see what I mean).

  • "Reset" pageflow portlet state (SP2 Fix causing problems)

    Hello-
    In SP2 there was a modification that prevents the begin() method from being called
    in a pageflow portlet on a page refresh. I am trying to port an application that
    depends on the former behavior. Basically when I click on the navigation item
    for a page, I want the portlet on that page to run the begin() action, regardless
    of the current state. Does anyone know how to force this behavior? Is there a
    way I can reset the state of a portlet after running a specfic action?
    thanks,
    Howie

    A little more investigation reveals that "_nfls=false" actually resets ALL pageflows.
    Not what we wanted.
    We have a messy technique that depends on us knowing the pageLabel, the portlet
    definition label AND the controller path. We're not proud of it, so any suggestions
    are very welcome.
    I've received the following suggestion from BEA, but this is also too messy and
    disjointed for us to be happy with:
    Description:
    CR129301 adds a new attribute called "refreshAction" to the
    <netuix:pageflowContent> control in .portlet files. This new attribute allows
    you to specify a page flow action to be executed during refresh conditions.
    This attribute is only available for page flow portlets.
    To use this new functionality, open the .portlet file for a page
    flow portlet in a text editor and add the "refreshAction" attribute to the
    <netuix:pageflowContent> control:
    <netuix:content>
    <netuix:pageflowContent contentUri="/portlets/test/testController.jpf" refreshAction="portalRefresh"
    />
    </netuix:content>
    The value of the "refreshAction" should be the name of an action in your page
    flow. If the action specified does not exist, you will get
    ActionNotFoundExceptions when the page flow portlet is refreshed.
    To avoid unexpected ActionNotFoundExceptions, specify a default refresh action
    in your web application's Global.app:
    * @jpf:action
    * @jpf:forward name="success" return-to="page"
    protected Forward portalRefresh()
    return new Forward("success");
    On refresh this action will cause the portlet to render the last page
    that was displayed by the page flow. Placing this action in Global.app will
    cause it to be invoked for any page flow that does not explicitly provide a
    refresh action.
    The existing page flow portlet refresh behavior is still available even with
    the "refreshAction" specified. The page flow's onRefresh() lifecycle method
    is always called. The exact behavior with the refreshAction enabled is:
    1. The refreshAction is executed
    2. If the refreshAction forwards to somewhere else, we don't restore attributes
    from the previous request. If the refreshAction returns null, the old request
    attributes are restored as if the refreshAction was never invoked
    3. onRefresh is called
    So to not have the attributes from the previous request restored you must:
    1. Specify a "refreshAction" for the page flow portlet
    2. Make sure the refreshAction forwards somewhere (return-to="page" and
    return-to="action" should work fine as a default case)

    THANK YOU! This innocent looking parameter is exactly what we need.
    just add "_nfls=false" to your URL to reset the pageflow state.
    I haven't found this documented anywhere, except as a reserved parameter,
    so I
    wonder if this could change in a future release?

    We too, desperately need a fix to reset pageflow state.
    This should enable us to go from one page to another with confidence
    that the
    destination page is in an appropriate state.
    We really need a way to do this from a pageflow action method.
    The closest I have got is for a pageflow to set it's next action to"begin"
    when
    the page changes. This way, when the user returns to the page it is
    in it's initial
    state. This technique is initiated from a JSP and has severe limitations.:
    Define a backing file for one of the books (this seems to get invoked
    for ALL
    incoming URLs).
    In the handlePostbackData method, check for a "pageChange" parameter
    and invoke
    setupPageChangeEvent(pageChange) on the BookBackingContext. This takes
    the user
    to the specified page in it's current pageflow state.
    NOTE: handlePostbackData is called BEFORE any action in the pageflow,
    so this
    sequence has to be initialised from the JSP (i.e. an anchor with a
    "pageChange"
    parameter, or a form with a "pageChange" hidden field). This is aserious
    limitation,
    as the destination page may depend on data entered in a form, or there
    may be
    some server-side validation to do which should result in a return to
    the JSP with
    an error message.

  • Connection CLosed Error due to submit statement.

    Hi friends,
    I have a Method which calls this function
    CALL FUNCTION 'Z_SLOT_TRIGGER_PRODUCTS'
              EXPORTING
                iv_rspar   = lt_rspar
                iv_variant = lv_variant.
    The Function module Z_slot_trigger_prouducts has a form in which there is a submit statement
    Submit the slotting transaction to background & process the transaction immediatly
    SUBMIT z_slot_products
       USING SELECTION-SET gv_variant
        WITH SELECTION-TABLE p_lt_rspar_tmp
         AND RETURN.
    During the debuging i see that when it reaches this submit statement it is giving an error as below in the inbound queue:
    ThISend: bad tm type / connection closed (no data)
    Can anyone please help me with this error. Thanks in advance.

    Check the documentation of the submit statement:
    When the SUBMIT statement is executed, the system runs an authorization check for the authorization group specified in the program attributes.

    No, it wasn't addressed to you but rather the OP - sorry for the confusion.
    I try where possible to point out that without asking a sensible and clear question, posters are unlikely to get sensible and clear answers. A lot of time is wasted on this forum trying to get people to ask questions properly.
    Cheers

  • Executing SUBMIT statement in background

    Hello Experts,
    Is it possibe in executing SUBMIT statement in backgound? If yes can anyone provide example code?
    Also in terms of performance tuning how does SUBMIT fares against CALL TRANSACTION? Which is much better in terms of performance.
    Appreciate your answers. Thanks!

    Hi
    There's no difference for the performance:
    if a transaction is assigned to a report (so no dialog program, module pool), it's better to use the SUBMIT if it needs to transfer the value on SELECTION-SCREEN. It can't do it by CALL TRANSACTION.

    Hi Colin,
    I dont think you would be able to skip the ALV output using SUBMIT. However try changing the value of sy-lsind after the submit statement.
    SUBMIT RMVKON00
    AND RETURN EXPORTING LIST TO MEMORY.
    sy-lsind = sy-lsind - 1.
    If that doesnt work then try using JOB_START JOB_SUBMIT, JOB_CLOSE...
    Thanks,
    Best regards,
    Prashant
