Response form help

i made changes to our form and now when we test it the answers to the new questions on the form do not appear on my response form and no headings for that question show up. How do I reset the header bar?

I don't quite understand. Can you post a screenshot of the issue here in the forum.

Problem exporting data in Acrobat Pro 9.0 from secured response form

Hello,
I made a form in Livecycle 9.0 and am distributing it through Acrobat Pro 9.0 - using Acrobat.com's form distribution application - in several cycles to see how varying the levels of security of the form will affect users (the folks who will be filling out the forms), once they get the forms. I want to see how many passwords they have to enter, what they can do, what they cannot do with the form.. I've been sending unsecured and secured forms out, to test.
The problem I have now is, when I receive my permissions protected, secured forms back, I cannot EXPORT the data. Both the "Export" and "Archived" buttons are greyed out, and even when I remove the security settings from File--> Portfolio Properties, nothing changes.
I'm locked out of the collected data!
It's easy to export data from unsecured response forms (without permissions protection), but I would prefer to limit the amount of manipulation users can do to the forms (aside from commenting, filling them out, and signing them).
The secured forms perform great on the Acrobat Reader - user (form-filler) end, restricting printing, modifying text, etc, but they return to me in Acrobat Pro inert. I'm completely stumped to how I can get data out of them. I would sure appreciate any help!

Are Distributed Forms created in Acrobat XI Pro compatible with Response Forms in Acrobat X Pro?

I want to be able to use distributed forms (created in Acrobat XI Pro) that I have received back through email with Acrobat X Pro. That is, I want to be able to import the form information that is being sent back to me into a response form in Acrobat X Pro. Is this kind of "forward-compatible" issue possible?
Or, since I created the distributed forms in Acrobat XI Pro, can I only import data from those forms in an appropriate response from in Acrobat XI Pro?

The distribution technique for email, network folder, or internal server haven't changed between Acrobat X and XI so you should be able to do this; however, it won't be managed through Tracker because you're distributing the form through different programs.

Basic form help needed

I am new to Dreamweaver 8 (but have worked with simple html a
quite a bit) and am working on building a, hopefully, simple
prototype for a project. What I need to do is collect user-entered
text and user-selected dropdown box data on one page and send it to
another for presentation there. After looking at the Help screens,
I looked at using Session variables and it seems that is the best
way to pass the data. Where I am stuck is in the (from Help
Contents) Making Pages Dynamic - Creating Forms - Creating HTML
forms help. They first say to, in step 2, Select Insert > Form
(which doesn't do anything - you have to click another option,
which I figured meant Form again). Then, in step 3, they say to
"Specify the page or script that will process the form data." by
selecting the file in the Action box in Properties. I don't have a
file to "process the form data" and don't really know what they are
talking about. Help!
I originally (before I reverted to using Help) set it up with
Insert->Form->Text Field text entry boxes, figuring this was
a Form field that could be captured and passed on. Right? Wrong? I
guess I thought the method would be to define a variable name
associated with a text input field in one page, then pass it with
the value to the next page. That is pretty much what it seems
Session variables do (?), which I discovered when I started looking
at Help.
So, was I on the right track for a simple implementation and
missed the way to capture and transmit the data, or do I need to
use the Forms->Forms option? If the former, how do I define the
variable names? If the later...well, I am real confused then. :-)

Session variables as the name suggests are created when a
user starts a session and last till the session is open. You form
doesn't really need session variables unless you are carrying form
data from one page to another and need to keep it associated with
that specific user such as in shopping cart applications.
I have never used the dreamweaver insert form, so can't help
you there. why not code the form yourself, especially since you
have been using html

I don't use FGL at all, they're too brittle and the boilerplate.css adds way more css than I ever need. They're also backwards for my workflow and require you to design mobile first.
Right now you have the <input> set at 100% width in your boilerplate.css and nothing overwriting it in your home-rolled mystyles.css. That 100%, plus some padding settings of the parent containers is causing them to go a little long and create a horizontal scroll bar.
Personally, I'd change them to a lot less than 100%.
Maybe a min-width of say 200px and a width of around 50%? (I don't know what your ultimate end design needs are, so those numbers may need to be changed)
I would add the following, or something similar, to the mystyles.css file...
input {
min-width:200px;
width:50%;
Remember, % widths in css are actually "x percent of the parent's setting" so if your parent elements are all set to 100% (or something very close to it as in FGL's), the <input> will be 100%, or very close to it, of the browser viewport.

From the Safari menu bar, select
Safari ▹ Preferences ▹ Extensions
Turn all extensions OFF and test. If the problem is resolved, turn extensions back ON and then disable them one or a few at a time until you find the culprit.
If you wish, you may be able to salvage the errant extension by uninstalling and reinstalling it. Its settings will revert to their defaults. If the extension still causes a problem, remove it permanently or refer to its developer for support.
Uninstall the McAfee product by following the instructions on whichever of the pages linked below is applicable:

When you mention "500 responses /form" (Plan Standard €14,75/month), do you mean 500 reponses / month or will the form be desactivated when it reaches 500 responses ?

How many hosted web response forms allowed per month or per year with monthly and yearly plans?

I am trying to pick out the right membership plan for us and the monthly plan and yearly plan allow a ceretain number of forms, however the membership materials do not clearly state how many hosted web response forms are allowed in each plan whether it is monthly or yearly? I need the answer before we decide

With the Basic plan you can have up to 5 online forms at any given time. There is no quota per month or per year. If you need to create a another form after your reached the quota then just delete one of the other form first. There is no quota for the Plus plan.
Same is true for the maximum responses. You can always export and delete responses to receive more if you have reached the maximum number of responses the plan allows.
Not that the Plus plan comes cheaper per month than the Basic plan but this is because you get a discount for commiting for the whole year.

Form help - receiving responses via e-mail (Acrobat 9 Pro Extended)

I have created a "test" form in Acrobat. The question fields are proprietary content and thus security is set such that the recipient cannot copy, change, or print the form. The answer fields are drop-downs with A - D options. I have sent the form to myself as a test and all that works properly. I need to be able to receive completed forms via e-mail (or just the data if that works) but need to eventually be able to export (or copy) each response set, in order, into MSExcel. When I tried to send the completed form via e-mail, it indicates the form cannot be saved (obviously due to security settings) and thus the changes (answers) will not be part of the form - only the original with the default answers.
How can I enable responders to send me the test answers via e-mail, without compromising the proprietary nature of the form's content?
Also, I would prefer not to use the Adobe on-line repository because, as I understand it, gives the user access to the form via the web.
I do have a web site in which I could host the test and allow users to access it, take the test, and then submit the answers.

I finally got our webmaster to put the link to the form online so that I could test the form. It is not sending to the address specified. I have setup the Submit button as follows: in the window under Enter a URL for this link: the URL was input as MailTo: [email protected] (there is a space between MailTo: and the e-mail address). After submitting Outlook 2k3 sends back an undeliverable message. Is the space in the URL causing the issue or is it something I need to run by our security people due to the way the form is being submitted?

Complaints - Lack of response - Please Help!

Here is a copy of an email that i have sent to BT twice in the last 4 days, as yet i have not received a response or even an acknowlegement.
Hi I have a complaint about my BT bill that I tried to resolve with no success via telephone this morning.
I am currently a long-standing BT customer signed up to the unlimited anytime plan plus friends and family mobile at £4.99 month. This is a continuation of a 12 month contract that I took out when I returned my calls to BT. Upon checking my bill (more closely than usual) I have discovered a discrepancy between what I thought I was paying and what I am actually being charged each month. If I log onto MYBT.COM>PHONE>CALLING PLANS & ADD ONS it states that my monthly charge including line rental is £16.53 ( I appreciate that this may increase by 50p to reflect another Line rental increase). However when I then look at the PDF copy of my latest Bill it states that my Calling Plan and line rental is £19.28, if I remove my £1.25 paper discount this equates to £17.78 not £16.53 as stated on YOUR website MYBT.COM when I log in.
When I spoke to one of your billing representatives today 'RAVI' said that he would refund the additional amount I have been paying on condition I signed up for another 12 month contract. When I said that this was unacceptable to expect me to agree to another minimum term contract when the error was BT's he said that was all he could do.
He stated that I was on the unlimited calls plan but was being charged £5.99 as I was not 'in contract' I explained that when I reached the end of my last minimum term contract that I spoke to BT and they advised that I would continue on the £4.99 deal without agreeing to a new contract term. Whilst the amount in dispute is very little I am somewhat disappointed in the way that this has been handled. Imagine if BT were to apply this charging model to all customers the amount would be very substantial.
I have always said to others that I have stayed with BT because whilst they are not the cheapest they were the best at what they do. Maybe it is time to reconsider where I should be routing my line rental and calls in the future.
I would like to hear your views on this matter

when email is sent out. Also after submit button it says your
request has been submitted and then after about 8 seconds it takes
them back to the home page.
How do I do this? I have the forms done but need help with

There are only two ways to process form data -
1. Use mailto:[email protected] as the action of the form
2. Use a server-side scripting method to a) harvest the
form's data, b)
process it in some manner, e.g., enter it into a database, c)
formulate and
send an email to one or more email recipients, and d)
redirect the visitor
to some ending page
Method 1 is quite simple, and is also the least reliable. It
depends both
on your visitor having an email client already installed on
their computer -
this eliminates public computers, or home users without email
clients
installed (more and more it seems) - and on the installed
email client
responding to
the mailto call. It is not possible to use this method *and*
send the
visitor to a
thank you page as well.
Method 2a is the preferred method, since it eliminates the
problems of
method
1, but it means that you have to grapple with
server-scripting somehow (ASP,
CF, PHP, perl, etc.).
Method 2b would be to use some third-party form processing,
like
http://www.bebosoft.com/products/formstogo/.
You would have to decide which of these methods is best for
your needs,
but if it's Method 2a, then start by asking your host what
they provide for
form
processing. If it's 2b, then read their FAQ/instructions
carefully.

Assessment form help, please!

Hello:
I've taken over updating a Robohelp project created years
ago. The project includes an assessment that the user fills out,
submits, then receives a "pass/fail" message.
For some reason, the submit button stopped working a few
weeks ago when I republished the project (I'd only changed the text
in another topic, so I have no idea what happened).
I now need to figure out:
1. How to "tell" the submit button what to do
2. How this could have broken when all I did was change the
text in another topic.
Here's what I know (not much...)
1. After the user clicks "submit," an ASP file looks at the
responses and spits back the pass/fail results. The ASP file is
located on a server.
2. I've looked at the True Code and I can't find anything
that clues me in as to what's happening with the submit button.
3. I've looked at the submit button properties and can't find
anything.
4. I've right-clicked to look for a "form properties," but
there is no "form properties" option, just "table properties,"
which lets me format differently, but again gives me no info about
what that button is doing.
5. The web developer gave me some code to type into the True
Code to fix the problem, but lucky me, I currently only have
read-only rights to the server and so my project wasn't saved. That
code is now lost and the developer is on vacation and I'm on my own
until he gets back to help me out again. In any case, the code
referenced the ASP file and it was only one line long.
6. I called the original author of the project, but it was 6
years ago when this was created, so all he remembered was setting
up the questions, not the submit button.
Can anyone help me figure out how to "tell" the submit button
that it's supposed to "talk to" the ASP file on the server?

I did find a command by selecting "view source" on the HTML
file. The command looks something like this:
FORM action=assessmentResults.asp method=post
So, I tried to copy that into the True Code (highlighted
below):

But it won't save. I save the project, generate it, and when
I open it again, the code is gone.
So, now I have yet another question: why isn't the true code
saving?
Would it help to post the actual HTML file? Or more of the
True Code page?

Checkbox in tabular form - help needed

I'm trying to build a tabular form, with a checkbox for a field that can have value 'Y' or 'N'. Adding the checkbox is no problem, with the htmldb_item.checkbox API.
However, processing it is.
On this forum I found a way to process the checkboxes, by looping through all the records (with the help of htmldb_item.hidden in which the id is stored) and reading the value from the checkboxes and updating the column if the checkbox is checked. (see Re: Report with updateable checkbox)
however, as soon as I add a htmldb_item.hidden item, I receive the following error when I submit the tabular form to the Multi Row Update process:
"Error in mru internal routine: ORA-20001: Error in MRU: row= 1, ORA-20001: ORA-20001: Current version of data in database has changed since user initiated update process. "
My query:
Select id
,htmldb_item.hidden(1,id)
,htmldb_item.checkbox(2,id, decode(field, 'Y', 'CHECKED', NULL))
from table
What am I doing wrong?
is there a better way to process a tabular form with checkboxes?
Or should I process all the rows manually by updating every record even if it hasn't changed (with a loop through all the records)?
