Restoring of HREF on same servlet page

hi,
i have a servlet page that generating number of hyperlink in form of menu. on clicking any HREF control goes to other page.
till now everything is fine, but i want to display most recent used top 10 HREF on servlet page without affecting the functionality.
Pls help me.

How about counting the clicks in static variables?
Let's assume this:

Is there a way to pass different values to the same servlet?
Background:
I have a database that I query to acquire a list of customers, then I show each customer as a link, that when clicked will show details of that customer. (The customer table is dynamic so I can't create a new page for each customer)
When using JSP what I do is

I want to know if there is a way to pass a variable from a webpage link like in my JSP example using servlets.
Here is what I wanted to do:
I have a webpage that contains customer names and each name has a link to the same servlet (let's say the link is famia/servb). I want servb to show detailed information about the customer my visitor clicked in the webpage.
The logic I was thinking is to pass a variable to this servlet, then I can use that variable to know which customer should I query in my database. So that I can show the details to my users.
Here lies my problem, I don't know how I can pass this variable, or even know which customer my visitor clicked. I can't use a new servlet for each client since the customer is in a database and if my customer base grows then I would need to create a lot more web page that does the same thing.
The JSP example I gave is how I will be coding it if I am using JSP, but now I am using servlets. So I was wodnering if there is a way to do this using servlet. Or should I stay with using JSP for this particular logic and just call servb after the JSP page acquired the variable.
I'm trying not to use "<original URL> + ? + <variable> = <value>" (eg: http://www.famia.net/customer?cust=famia) as the means for passing the variable. (or in the example as a means of passing variable cust with value famia)

i want when i click on link of first college name, same page should be updaed with updated menu bar where i can show the information of the concerning college.

Shut down your computer and disconnect all peripherals (keyboard & mouse if pertinent) from your computer. Now reboot.
If the Mac starts up normally, shut it down again and then plug in one of the peripherals (keyboard or mouse first) and start up your computer again. Restart your computer when done.

Remove any 3rd party ram.
Reinstall Leopard - This will install a "fresh" copy Leopard without archiving old system files but leaves the rest of your files in place.
If you still want to restore your computer to factory level...
Start up from your install disc, go to Disk Utility and select the disk and click erase - to securely erase data click Security Options and Erase Free Space which will entirely wipe your disk, overwriting it with zeros so that no data is recoverable.

Link to QT videos and display in media holder on same CF page

I am using a learning object which I downloaded from Macromedia many years ago. The white paper which came with it was very usueful in parts but did not cover this problem. One of the interactions which I was never able to get to work as given was for a video to play in a placeholder when one of five links on the same page was selected. This really is a very neat elearning object and although Macromedia also left out two of the sets of videos the rest would be very useful for me to deploy with a client. If anyone knows the whereabouts of the missing movies let me know.

I did it once - however, I am not sure if Portal 10.1.2 has support for MIME types other than text/plain. I implemented a JSP solution and this is what I did :
1. I have a Servlet that checks the choice of output i.e, html or Excel.
2. The Servlet first renders the page in HTML, with a link that invites the user to "Export" the report to Excel. The Servlet forwards the rendering to a JSP ( which is a Portlet ).
3. If the link is click, the same Servlet is invoked - thsi time, I made the Servlet to render the output as Excel using the usual code: response.setContentType("application/vnd.ms-excel");
4. The same output is rendered in Excel.
The Servlet was not a Portlet - I had to do this workaround as Oracle Portal 9.0.4 wouldn't support the content-type application/vnd.ms-excel
Thus, the HTML rendering was done via a JSP, which is a Portlet. THe PDF / Excel redering was done by a Servlet, which is not a Portlet.
I would be interested to know if 10.1.2 ( & the later verions ) support the Excel / PDF MIME Types.

Can I use multiple p class="logos" tag with the same name within the same html page?

I was told not to use <div class> tags too many times. I was using them for text, images, to clear floats, I basically built my website using multiple <div class> tags. So if I can't use multiple <div class> tags could I use <p class> tags multiple times in the same html page?
I have a string of logos at the bottom of my webpage which will all be using the same css characteristics for all logos. Would this be the proper way to write the code:

After running the BI_Checkconfig tool I got an inconsistent OLAP API Metadata
result, it was because a partner was modifying the OLAP metadata without saving
the changes.
After saving the changes in the OLAP metadata, I ran the BI_Checkconfig tool
again with success (no metadata errors).
Now the pages are displayed without any error message.

Most likely you have Office 2004 which are PPC-only applications and will not work in Lion. Upgrade to Office 2011. Other alternatives are:
Apple's iWork suite (Pages, Numbers, and Keynote.)
Open Office (Office 2007-like suite compatible with OS X.)
NeoOffice (similar to Open Office.)
LibreOffice (a new direction for the Open Office suite.)

Same JSF page is being displayed after submitting form

I have a situation where some of my JSF pages occassionally misbehave. For example, sometimes when I click a <h:commandButton/> (which is located within a <h:form> tag) the action which the button is wired to is not executed. Instead the same page is displayed.
Please note that this glitch happens intermittently with no fixed pattern.
It is also interesting to note that the data which the user enters (prior to clicking the button) on the JSF form is also lost and has to be re-entered again by the user.
Functionally, this is only a minor problem however from a usability perspective this is a major major problem!
I have tried:
Adding <h:messages /> components to jsp pages in order to see if there are any errors.
Verified the spelling of the outcomes ("success", "cancel") in my navigation rules and in the action methods.
Verified the spelling of my bean in the definition as a managed bean in the faces-config.xml file and in the jsp page.
Verified the name of my action method, in the jsp and in the backing bean.
Checked by logging if the action method is reached.
Used the jsf phase tracker to print life cycles phases. However, when the page "misbehaves" this misses out all the application level phases i.e only phases restore view and render response are actually passed.
Created getters and setters for all bean attributes
I am desperate to fix this. Has anybody found a solution to this problem? Please let me know!

I am using JSF version 1.1 and the application server I am using is BEA WebLogic Server 9.1.
The page is one in a series like a "bread crumb" trail or in the style of a wizard if you like. The user goes from one page to the next and can go back if he so wishes.
I have a user form. One part of the form requests the user to enter an email address and then click an "Add" command button. However, sometimes instead of adding the email address to the data table the same JSF page is displayed when the button is clicked and all the data is lost, resulting in the user having to re-enter all the information on the form again!

     but while setting the offest for pager, i am doing like this

2)if i use pager.offset for two page nations in the same page pager.offset value is overriding,So i am unable to maintian the page nations.
3)i can change the offset value into sreenyoffset in the export property of pager tag,if iam able to change the pager.offset value to customized value my problem will solve.

I was trying the pagination concept in jsp. I am getting a lot of errors. Can u help me for displaying this pagination.i need to display dynamic records according to search criteria. In search criteria, an area is selected and the data related to that area should be displayed from a table in mysql . It has 100+ records each
with 6 columns, each page should be displaying 10 records, what we call pagination. I was trying this(in java jsp)( should not do in struts, should be done only in jsp) for a long time. By ur faq, i understood u hava already done it. Pls try to help me. Can u pls send me a sample program regarding this?

Java Servlet page not opening error 404

Hi!
I am working with servlets. I compiled the java file and the class file is been moved to
c:\javawebserver2.0\servlets, and the html files moved to public_html. Html files r opening
the classpath is mapped to jsdk.jar i.e
set CLASSPATH=c:\javawebserver2.0\lib\jsdk.jar
Built-in samples r working without any problem
when i try to run the servlet
Page Not Found error 404 occuring

404 Not Found means you didn't deploy the app properly.
I think deploying an app like this is a terrible idea. If you have more than one app deployed on a production web server/servlet engine, you wouldn't want to put them all in the same place. "public_html" and the generic "servlets" directory shouldn't be used as dumping grounds for all your apps.
Learn how to deploy using a WAR file. It'll keep all your apps separate and their constitutive parts together.
Why Java Web Server? I don't think anyone uses it seriously anymore. Tomcat is the reference implementation of the servlet/JSP specs. I'd download that and use it instead of JWS. JMO, of course.

What I meant is turn off Documents and Data in iCloud in OS X. Keep it on on your iOS devices. iCloud will sync documents between the iOS devices and make them available on the iCloud web site, but it won't mess up iWorks' open and save dialog boxes. It also won't assume that you want all your documents in iCloud, which I think is undesirable anyway.
Keep iOS and OS X separate, and use the web site to move files between the two as necessary.
iOS iWork is different from OS X iWork. There are fewer fonts on an iOS device. iOS iWork programs have slightly different feature sets than OS X iWork programs, and the file formats are different. iCloud automatically converts the file format when necessary, but if you make a habit of saving things directly to iCloud, you are limited to the lowest common denominator between the two versions of iWorks. So why would anyone want iWork on the Mac to open and save documents on iCloud by default?
If you want to store files in the cloud and sync them on your Macs, SugarSync is a much better solution. It lets you choose your sync folders, it doesn't make you reorganize your files, it lets you sync all file types, it doesn't convert files to a different format and back, and it stores everything in the cloud, too. Just the simle act of saving a file backs it up and syncs it. I wouldn't live without it. iCloud is best with iTunes purchases and synchronizing Mac settings and iOS files; I woudln't live without it. The two make an unbeatable combination.
