Retrieving Values from Layout

Good Afternoon.
I am trying to write a FOX program that will retrieve date fields entered on the layout and compare them with today's date. The comparison date (current date) is stored in two variables (one for month and the other year). The problem I am having is the FOX code is not pulling the values from the screen. When I insert a BREAK-POINT, the screen values in the FOX are displaying the same values as in the variable I am comparing it too. I cannot figure out what I am doing wrong.
I want to compare the dates (year and month only) entered on the screen against today. If the date is less than today, then a message will be displayed.
I am attaching the code.

I'm glad you were able to get it to work.
I am entering values on the screen that are less than this month (for example 12/2006). At the break point, both the values YEAR2 and YEAR are set to 2007 and the two month values MONTH2 and MONTH are set to 01. It will not show me the 012/2006.
Field to be changed is Key figure name.
Fields for condition are fiscal year, posting period and version.
Do you have any other ideas on what I should check?

I´m still with trouble in retrieving the value in HTML.
In debug the C_CELL_ID seems to be correctly updated but
when using the command "document.getElementById" the value is always "null".
I implemented in the method DATA_CELL the code :
if i_x = 3 and i_y = 2.
C_CELL_ID = 'zs'.
C_CELL_CONTENT = 10.
endif.
And in HTML :
var ztest = document.getElementById('zs');
alert(ztest);

Retrieving values from Database in Excel Task Pane App

So far,
I created a website with a database on Azure, I then published my App to Azure. My problem is that I'm not sure how I retrieve values from the database (in SQL: SELECT * FROM EXAMPLE_TABLE WHERE date = str). If someone could provide me with sample code,
that would be amazing! :D
It would also be very helpful if anyone knew a method to automatically update the database using information from a xml stream on another website, once a day.

You can use jquery ajax call to call your webserivce or REST API, which will query the database and return a json result.

Retrieving values from a table

Hi all,
I need to retrieve values from CSKS-KOSTL for values containing the pattern entered by the user. For example, if the user enters 1, need to retrieve all the KOSTL values starting with 1. But when i write a SELECT statement mentioning where kostl in '1', it is ignoring all the values like (0000001, 00001034, 0012334, and others). Only values starting with 1 is only retrieved as this is a character field and due to conversion routine, zeroes are prefixed while storing in the database.
Could any one let me know how to retrieve the values from the database in this situation?

If you want to use IN operator in your where clause then you should define a range variable(R_KOSTL) which refers to CSKS=KOSTL and populate the range as below
R_KOSTL-SIGN = 'I'.
R_KOSTL-OPTION = 'CP'.
R_KOSTL-LOW = '1*'.
APPEND R_KOSTL.
and then write your select statement as .... WHERE kostl IN r_kostl.
The approach suggested by Amit should also work fine.

Retrieving values from table control using DYNP_VALUES_READ

I am trying to retrieve the values from the table control using the FM DYNP_VALUES_READ. I have a situation where user enter values in table control in T.code FB60 in Withholding tab for validation purpose. There i'll have to check based on some entries maintained in SET.
I am unable to get the values when i scroll to the next page in the table control. FM raising an exception invalid_dynprofield.

You have to populate the dynpfields internal table before calling the function,
data: repid like sy-repid.
dynpfields-fieldname = 'PNAME'.
append dynpfields.

dynpfields = dynpfields

Now you will have the field value in pname

Retrieving values from a JComboBox - Design question.

I would like some design guidance on a problem that I am hoping has been solved before. Here is my situation:
I have a JComboBox that I populate with String values from a database table. The exact set of values to be loaded into the JComboBox varies according values specified elsewhere on the GUI.
When I select an item from the JComboBox, I need to read the database to retrieve more information. The text is not sufficient for me to identify the data I need, so I need to get the table key from somewhere.
Is there anyway I can associate my table key with the text value inside the JComboBox and retrieve it when the user selects a drop down value from the JComboBox?

when you load the data from the db, try to get ALL the information needed: item label+item value+description. put this data into a map (a hashmap) for example using a unique identifier. For example, use a numeric index. In this case, the item value should be the index that uniquely identifies your items.
create a simple bean that encapsulates the item contents: index+value+label, description.
Doing this will avoid the huge db access occurences.

How to display checkbox that retrieve value from database?

I have a problem, hope someone will help me.
The problem is, I have 3 checkbox where contain different values.
I will insert the values to db in array. When I retrieve the values, I got a problem to display it.
Let say,my checkbox's value is:
1.car
2.bus
3.lorry
when I checked car and lorry, my array will be [car,bus] insert to db.
For editing purpose, I need to display the checkbox again with the values from db. So, it should be :
1.car (checked)
2.bus (checked)
3.lorry (unchecked)
I can display the car and bus (checked) , but not the unchecked checkbox. Sometimes, it's repeating, car (checked) and car (unchecked) will display.
Anybody have a suggestion?

How to retrieve value from AIAInstallProperties.xml in AIA Flow.

After PIP Developement, Installer team will build the OUI installer for the PIP.They will build the screens for our PIP based on the requirements we give them.We give them a list of properties that we need the installer to prompt for and then the installer will store the values entered by the user in AIAInstallProperties.xml file.When the code is written, these properties are used instead of hardcoding any machine names, usernames, passwords, etc. When the services are deployed the properties are replaced with the values in AIAInstallProperties.xml.
How to retreive those values from AIAInstallProperties.xml file to your participating applications or any adapters in your code?
When the services are deployed how the properties are getting replaced with the values in AIAInstallProperties.xml.?
Can anyone explain the above two flow.

Prem Edwin's posting about AIAInstallProperties.xml is correct.
Two points, the 11gR1 is a foundation pack only release, that is why the OUI is only built to collect FP related information. In the future, when PIPs arrive, new wizard steps will involve to collect PIP specific information during installation/deployment time.
For your example of of getting a file location during installation, it would be effectively for your self-built PIPs. That is why the 11gR1 FP OUI would not support that.
Also, there are only finite number of tokens can be detokenized from AIAInstallProperties.xml to composite.xml, if you were introducing a random new 'file path', I don't believe it would be replaced automatically by default in R1 time.

Can retrieve value from one table, but not the other (exception thrown)

I hope some friendly soul can help me out here. I have a local Access database file. I am able to get a value from all tables except for one, which throws this error: "System.NullReferenceException:
Object reference has not been specified to an object".
The rather simple lines of code when working is this:

However, when simply changing from "Table" to "AnotherTable", the exception is thrown. I
have seriously no idea why. I've made sure the datatypes are the same and that the values are not NULL.

Going with your last reply, you should be accessing data via the strong typed classes that get generated.
Example using Microsoft Northwind database accessing the customers table in a MS-Access database. Note the check for Rows, we could even go farther if we are questioning issue with the data via try-catch statements writing errors to the IDE Output window.
I would highly recommend never referencing rows without first checking if there are rows and secondly never reference columns by ordinal index, always use the column name. One example with ordinal positioning, suppose someone did SomeDataTable.Columns("SomeColName").SetOrdinal(3)
and you expect the ordinal position to be 1 ? things will crash-n-burn. Food for thought :-)

Want to retrieve values from TB028 and TB009

Hi Experts ,
I wanted to retrieve value of TB028-BEZ30 ( Description for occupation) depending upon field JOBGR in BUT000 , similarly in Table TB009-TEXTSHORT(Short name for Address type) wanted to get the value depeding upon ADR_KIND in BUT021.
But I am not able to retriev this value. I tried using some FMs too but they dont return either of these fields in their o/p parameters
FM used :
For retriving TB028 fields
            BAPI_BUPA_CENTRAL_GETDETAIL
For retiving TB009 fields :
          FSBP_READ_ADDRESS_DATA
          BUP_TB009_SELECT_ALL
          BUPA_ADDRESSES_READ_ALL
None of these returns the fields I want. Am I missing something here??

I need to retrive a value to an entity member from its parents parent.

I need to get value from "grandparent" of e2117 (entity). It somehow seems that formula above does not get anything done. There is a value at the grandparent level at the dimension cross section defined in formula. Block exists, it has been checked..
Could I use some other function instead?

Using keys to search and retrieve values from HashMap

I've been fiddling around with this problem for a while and can't seem to find any working solution. What I have is a method that I want to return all values from a HashMap, but instead of using the regular keys for a HashMap (0, 1, 2, 3), my keys are different numbers such as 51414, 62513, etc.

     }So what's happening at the moment is it loops through myCars and gets some values, but only those ones at the keys of 0-15 (the size of the Map). What I need is to get the Keys from myCars and use them to return all Car objects. The HashMap API has something called KeySet() which I think could help me, but I can't get that working.
Any ideas?

How to retrieve value from insert statement

how can i get a certain value from insert statement and store it in a variable.
suppose i am inserting emp_no , emp_name , emp_salary to employee table
and i want to store the emp_name in a variable for other processing,
how can i accomplish this ? i'm guessing that i have to use trigger,
but dont know the procedure .
