Retrieving xpath in any xml type service

Hi,
We have any xml service type proxy which receives 2 different types of XML messages.In one of the XML messages,we need to branch out based on value of certain element.
But xpath doesn't seem to work.Xpath retrieved using messaging type service is:
*$body/ref:ONIXMessage/ref:Product/ref:RecordSourceType/text()*
This xpath works with messaging type service.
But when the same was used in any xml type service ,ALSB unable to recognize the namespace and hence the xpath was modified to:
*$body/ONIXMessage/Product/RecordSourceType/text()*
But this does not return anything.
Any idea as to how to get the data from xpath?
Thanks.
Arti

Hi,
You can add the namespace to use that in inline x-queries/x-path expressions. Please refer -

  • Calling a OSB service(Service Type: Any XML Service) from BPEL

    Recently i had question in an Interview:
    How can a OSB service (of Service Type: Any XML Service) can be called from a BPEL service ?
    This OSB service is not exposed as a WSDL.
    Protocol: http
    Endpoint URI: /TestOSBProject1/ps/SyncReadPS
    host: localhost
    port: 7001
    URL: http://localhost:7001/TestOSBProject1/ps/SyncReadPS
    When i hit this URL i am getting the message --> "This XML file does not appear to have any style information associated with it. The document tree is shown below."
    WSDLURL: http://localhost:7001/TestOSBProject1/ps/SyncReadPS?WSDL
    When i hit this URL i am getting the message --> "Error 500 - Internal Service Error -- This service is not associated to a WSDL"
    Is there any way yo invoke this service from BPEL?

    Thanks for your instance response.
    I had used HTTP Binding adapter in BPEL (with GET).
    Getting below error:

  • How to invoke an OSB Proxy of type "Any XML  Service"

    I built some proxy services as "Any XML Service" which route to some other business services.
    I have tested these proxies using the debug console and they work fine. The question is, how do I invoke these services from outside de OSB? They recive an xml (duh) ...anyway, i have tried invoking them from a url passing the xml as the "body" parameter as follows:
    http://host:port/myproject/anyXmlServices/aservice?body=<myxml>test</myxml>
    not shure if this should work... how should I nvoke these services?
    thanks in advance
    Jhosue

    Hi Jhosue,
    before answer your queries can you please provide few info for the below mention queries.
    1>While creating Proxy Service what protocol you have selected in "Transport Configuration" page?
    2>If its HTTP, you need to specify some meaningful service name as "Endpoint URI".so that case the URL would like "http://host:port/serviceName"
    3>if the protocol is not HTTP/HTTPS, then you cant invoke the proxy via URL from outside.
    Note:
    If your Proxy is HTTP based then to access the Proxy from outside,you need a Client Program(may be any GUI or standalone code).
    There you need to specify what method you would like to follow GET/POST or others...i mean as per your service configuration.
    If its GET..then u cant pass xml with the URL,instead of that you need to construct a URL string.
    If its POST you can post bulk xml,that too using Client program.
    Thanks

  • Reporting Services web service complex xml type report parameters

    Hi,
    I have the following xml type parameter in my request query that I use in reporting services.
    <Parameter Name="accountDetails" Type="XML" xmlns:d4p1="thevalue" xmlns:i="thevalue">
    <DefaultValue>
    <d4p1:AccountDetailDto>
    <d4p1:AccountNumber>12345</d4p1:AccountNumber>
    <d4p1:AccountType>Sales</d4p1:AccountType>
    </d4p1:AccountDetailDto>
    </DefaultValue>
    I want to know how I can assign values to the accountDetails parameter from report parameters, I've tried to call it from the dataset parameter properties but it doesn't return any values. I created Parameters!accountDetails.Value on the dataset parameters
    properties and assigned it the following value: it only returns empty columns
    ="<AccountDetailDto><AccountNumber>"& Parameters!AccountNumber.Value &"</AccountNumber><AccountType>"& Parameters!AccountType.Value &"</AccountType></AccountDetailDto>"
    You're help will be highly appreciated as I've been trying to solve this for a while now

    Hi Alisa,
    Perhaps I should explain my problem clearly...
    This is my query request that I send to the webservice:
    <Query>
    <Method Name="GetPerAccountAssetAllocation" Namespace="http://tempuri.org/">
    <Parameters>
    <Parameter Name="accountDetails" Type="XML" xmlns:d4p1="thevalue" xmlns:i="thevalue">
    <DefaultValue>
    <d4p1:AccountDetailDto>
    <d4p1:AccountNumber>12345</d4p1:AccountNumber>
    <d4p1:AccountType>JSE</d4p1:AccountType>
    </d4p1:AccountDetailDto>
    </DefaultValue>
    </Parameter>
    </Parameters>
    </Method>
    <SoapAction>http://tempuri.org/IPortfolioManagementService/GetPerAccountAssetAllocation</SoapAction>
    <ElementPath IgnoreNamespaces="true">*</ElementPath>
    </Query>
    It works well when I run it just like this, that is without specifying any parameters in the report data dialogue window or on the dataset parameters properties, it returns the values and columns correctly.
    So my problem is, I need to find out how(xml parameter syntax, steps e.t.c)
    I can do to allow users to specify the accountDetails parameter, its quite tricky for me coz its an xml type parameter, Im not sure if I should just specify the AccountNumber and
    ReportType parameters separately:
    I've tried the following without any success:
    1. Under the dataset properties:  I tried not to specify a default value for the accountDetails parameter on the xml query, then I added a parameter called "accountDetails" under the dataset parameters properties, then under parameter
    value I added the following xml value :
    <d4p1:AccountDetailDto>
    <d4p1:AccountNumber>Parameters!AccountNumber.Value</d4p1:AccountNumber>
    <d4p1:AccountType>Parameters!AccountType.Value</d4p1:AccountType>
    </d4p1:AccountDetailDto>
    (I also added the AccountNumber and AccountType parameters under the report data dialogue window)
    This returns empty columns, is there something I'm missing, or am I doing this incorrectly?

  • OSB- Any Soap type Proxy service URL issue.

    Hi,
    There is an issue which i am facing and stuggling with it for sometime :(
    Requirement - Using OSB 11g i had created 12 different services based on WSDLs provided by the client and all of them are working fine.However the client wanted a OSB router service on top of these 12 services which wil search for a string in the input xml and then route it to the required Proxy service (amongst the 12 services developed).
    Problem- I was able to create the router Proxy service which was a Any Soap type of proxy service as i didnot have a WSDL for the router service.The router service is working fine when we test it from the OSB console.
    When We tried to test the flow from SOAPUI (we used the WSDL of one of the 12 webservices developed and modified the uri to the uri of the router service ie. http://hostname:port/router/routerProxy) and it does not work.
    The error returned is ERROR 404 nothing found by this name.
    As The router proxy is a Any Soap kind of service i do not have the option of providing the client with the WSDL.
    I would want to know how to i call this router service from an external source like SOAPUI so that the client is able to hit it.Also what would be the end point uri of this router service ?
    Kindly Help
    Thanks

  • What is the storage limit for XPath search in 9i XML TYPE??

    Dear All,
    I stored many large XML documents in 9i XML TYPE, now I want to using extract() function to XPath search the stored document.
    The problem is that when I using extract() function, an error come out:
    ORA-19011: Character string buffer too small
    How can I solve it??
    Beside, I try to search some smaller XML documents, I can get the XML data using extract() in SELECT clause, but I still have ORA-19011 error if I using extract() in WHERE clause.
    Thanks a lot!!

    By default in Firefox 4, a site can use up to 50MB of IndexedDB storage. If it tries to use more than 50MB, Firefox will ask the user for permission:
    http://mxr.mozilla.org/mozilla-central/source/modules/libpref/src/init/all.js#101
    In Firefox for mobile devices (Google Android and Nokia Maemo), Firefox will ask for permission if a site tries to use more than 5MB:

  • Binding ADF UI to a complex XML Type – Development Productivity, State Mgmt

    Binding ADF UI to a complex Web Service – Development Productivity, Managing State, Etc.
    For those scenarios when ADF UI has to be bound to a complex XML type, it seems that the direction taken by the ADF development team was to generate data-controls that map to complex XML types.
    The major problem with this approach is the fact that application server does not manage state. For example, If application has to submit a purchase order to a web service then application server has to manage the shopping card state until its ready to be submitted.
    In some previous forum threads it had been suggested that using generated data-controls is a “quick and dirty” solution for accessing web services and that a proper solution is to use generated Java Proxy Interface.
    That implies many manually constructed entity objects, associations and overridden doDML methods, which is far less productive compared to entity objects generated from a database schema.
    Suggestion and a Question for the ADF development team
    From the logical model standpoint, there is no difference in between the XML schema and DB schema. Therefore, it is possible to generate entity objects and associations for XML Types of XML schema the same way it’s done for tables of Database schema. The only difference is serialization of CRUD operations on entity objects.
    One way to handle this is:
    -     Generate Application Module for a complex XML type. This application module should have methods for marshaling to/from corresponding XML type.
    -     Generate entity object for each subtype within the complex XML type. In case of nested subtypes, generate association to a parent type.
    -     Generate data control with actions that are bound to web service operations and code that serializes request message from corresponding AM and de-serializes response message to corresponding AM.
    This way, ADF would offer the same productivity for the SOA development as one its currently offering for the ORM development.
    Until the time when something like this is available, what would be the best approach for binding ADF UI to web services?
    Feedback is greatly appreciated.

    We have similar issues as our big portion of the UI is based on WS. We found that there is no easy way to map entity object structure to complex XML type (one EO can based on one flat type or domain can't be bound to UI directly). Oracle PMs, is there any better solution or future plans to address this issue?

  • Document type service

    We are trying to create a document type service meaning we want to transmit a document

    "RPC-oriented WebLogic Web service operations use SOAP encoding. Document-oriented

    Our service method signature is:
    public void processCreditApp(String document)
    We change our web-services.xml to include: style="document" in the web-service
    element and invocation-style="one-way" in the operation element.
    The client generated builds a SOAP message with the body content typed as a string:
    <env:Envelope xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema"
    xmlns:soapenc="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/encoding/"

    We had expected the content of the body not to be typed with <xsd:string> tags.
    Likewise
    the generated web service is expecting this typing.
    Have the corect assumptions about "literal encoding"? Have we left out any necessary
    steps or settings?
    We are using WL 7, service pack 2 with the pathch: CR102544_70sp2_v2.jar.

    I am not sure I understand. The SOAP body we receive does not have a type designation:

    You missed <types> and <type-mapping> elements.
    I guess your <operation> still has input param type as xsd:string.
    You should change this to new type that you create to represent your
    document.
    Alternatively, you could servicegen with style="document" and take a
    look
    at the generated web-services.xml.
    That will give you a better idea.

    <wddxPacket version='1.0'><header/><data><array length='3'><struct type='coldfusion.server.ConfigMap'><var name='http:// 123.123.123.2<char code='0d'/><char code='0d'/><char code='0a'/>        /common/verifyUser.cfc?wsdl'><string>http:// 123.123.123.2<char code='0d'/><char code='0d'/><char code='0a'/>        /common/verifyUser.cfc?wsdl</string></var></struct><struct type='coldfusion.server.ConfigMap'><var name='http:// 123.123.123.2<char code='0d'/><char code='0d'/><char code='0a'/>        /common/verifyUser.cfc?wsdl'><string></string></var></struct><struct type='coldfusion.server.ConfigMap'><var name='http:// 123.123.123.2<char code='0d'/><char code='0d'/><char code='0a'/>        /common/verifyUser.cfc?wsdl'><string></string></var></struct></array></data></wddxPacket>
    The corruption is occurring on my developer installation on a windows xp machine. If I execute the same code on my standard server edition running on Windows Server, the structure for the same verifyUser web service looks like this:
    <var name='http://123.123.123.1/common/verifyUser.cfc?wsdl'><string></string></var>
    On both machines I'm running CF version 8,0,1,195765 with updates chf8010003.jar and hf801-1875.jar.
    Has anyone else seen this or have any ideas on how to correct?

    You're right. Here's what was happening:
    My cfinvoke included webservice="http://#APPLICATION.server_ip_address#/common/verifyUser.cfc?wsdl".  I was using the same code to extract the IP address, but different operating systems. So when I populated APPLICATION.server_ip_address without trimming, I was getting extraneous trailing garbage on the XP server version.
    Thanks.

  • Two classes have the same XML type name??? Please, help...

    Hello!
    I have a simple web service class. I generated the ws server-side classes using wsgen.
    I created a jar file from the generated code.
    Then :
    Endpoint endPoint = Endpoint.create(

    The web service started fine.
    Then called wsimport, and the generated classes have been placed into a jar file.
    Then called the code like this:
    WebServicesUnitImplService service = new WebServicesUnitImplService();
    WebServicesUnitImpl unit = service.getWebServicesUnitImplPort();
    unit.serviceXXX();
    but the code doesn't work at all, resulting this error message:

  • Xml type column

    Hi,
    This is my first time ever working with xml type column. I have a xml type column with name,value pairs. This xml type column needs to be indexed. How can I index this column(which index is suitable)? Also can xml type column be used in where clause for the joins with another table columns.
    Thank You
    SK

    XMLTypes in 10.1 are extremely slow and extremely buggy.
    They're maginally better in 10.2 (with the exception of anything added in that release, most notably XQuery), although there are some disasterous bugs in 10.2 in functionality that was actually fine in 10.1 (e.g. memory leaks, scaling nightmares).
    The XML Respository (required for XSD registration and shredding) is very unstable and will cause performance issues and instance outages.
    This is on top of the intrinsic performance and volume inefficiencies involved with XML.
    If you store data in a (column,row) of a SQL table it needs to be atomic with respect to the context of the database. Hiding information inside XML in a column of a table means your data is no longer even in 1st normal form. Surely we can all agree that is a Bad Idea and contrary to any concept of good practise, at this late stage.
    Furthermore querying XML structures is complex, slow and inflexible due to the asymetric nature of hierarchies. And once your information is in it, you're stuck with the incompleteness of XPath and the inefficiency of XQuery. All the indices in the world won't save you.
    More still, it is almost impossible, and very expensive to constrain the data in the XML other than trivial domain and "data type" constraints. The constraints require procedural validation and are not immediate. So you can kiss goodbye to referential integrity and consistency even if you figure out how to implement them.
    Also "abstract clob" XMLType storage requires multiple full document copies for read consistency purposes, so you will cripple your instance and your storage overhead (typically rather kindly benchmarked at 3 times SQL volume) will exponentially run away.
    Just don't do it.

  • XPath query error - xml extension in schema

    Hi,
    I am getting following error when i try to assign values to input xml payload before
    invoke process.
    "{http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/ws/2003/03/business-process/}selectionFailure" has been thrown.
    <selectionFailure>
    <part name="summary" >
    <summary>XPath query string returns multiple nodes. According to BPEL4WS spec 1.1 section 14.3, The assign activity part and query /child::parameter/child::param1 should not return multipe nodes. Please check the BPEL source at line number "40" and verify the part and xpath query /child::parameter/child::param1. </summary>
    </part>
    </selectionFailure>
    The generated XPath resolves to a single node only (tested using XMLSpy). The only reason i can think of is that the xml schema in wsdl is extending a base xml type to a new type.
    It works fine if the extending xml type is merged with it's base type, and used as one single complex type.

    I am also having the xml extension issue and since we are dealing with large WSDL files (exceed 40,000 lines) it would be ridiculous to move all extension classes to the base type (parent class). Has this bugged been looked at and when can it be resolved since it seems to be a major issue in JDeveloper.

  • How to create an XQuery for an XML type data source

    Hi,
    1.I have data contained in an XML format.
    Hence I have created a physical data source for XML type data.
    2.I have created a logical view to broker data from several disparate physical data sources.I have called this as UnifiedView.
    3.I have created a function called getUnifiedView() to obtain data from all the physical sources
    4.Upto this point, I have not faced any problems.
    5.However when i try writing a simple XQuery for the physical XML datasource such as
    $Sh-data/PublicIdentifiers/MSISDN="1234567"
    I get result as (For example):
    <HSS>
    <MSISDN> 1234567 111111 222222 </MSISDN>
    </HSS>
    Could you please help me getting the where clause output?
    I have attached the schema and XML files used for further information.
    Regards
    Vidya

    Hi mReiche,
    I later on resolved the previously mentioned error and try out the XQuery as suggested by you.
    for $MSISDN in ns0:Sh-data()/PublicIdentifiers/MSISDN
    where $MSISDN="1234567"
    return
    <HSS>
    <MSISDN>{data($MSISDN)}</MSISDN>
    </HSS>
    It works! Thanks.
    Now i am trying to retrieve data from 2 XML documents and an LDAP query.
    I have the following data sources:
    1.LDAP queried by Java Function
    2.HSS xml
    3.Presence xml
    I want to match the telephoneNumber of the LDAP with MSISDN in the HSS.xml.
    Next i want to match the SIP_URI in the HSS.xml with Contact of the Presence.xml
    Given below is the XQuery which i have written to achieve the above:
    for $x0 in ns5:FindDN($str_mailId)
    for $Sh-Data in ns2:Sh-Data()
    where $x0 = $Sh-Data/PublicIdentifiers/MSISDN
    for $presence in ns3:presence()
    where $Sh-Data/Sh-IMS-Data/SCSCFName = $presence/ns4:tuple/ns4:contact
    return
    On executing this XQuery i am getting the following error:
