How To Ask Questions The Smart Way
Eric Steven Raymond
Rick Moen
Write in clear, grammatical, correctly-spelled language
We've found by experience that people who are careless and sloppy writers are usually also careless and sloppy at thinking and coding (often enough to bet on, anyway). Answering questions for careless and sloppy thinkers is not rewarding; we'd rather spend our time elsewhere.
So expressing your question clearly and well is important. If you can't be bothered to do that, we can't be bothered to pay attention. Spend the extra effort to polish your language. It doesn't have to be stiff or formal - in fact, hacker culture values informal, slangy and humorous language used with precision. But it has to be precise; there has to be some indication that you're thinking and paying attention.
Spell, punctuate, and capitalize correctly. Don't confuse "its" with "it's", "loose" with "lose", or "discrete" with "discreet". Don't TYPE IN ALL CAPS; this is read as shouting and considered rude. (All-smalls is only slightly less annoying, as it's difficult to read. Alan Cox can get away with it, but you can't.)
More generally, if you write like a semi-literate b o o b you will very likely be ignored. So don't use instant-messaging shortcuts. Spelling "you" as "u" makes you look like a semi-literate b o o b to save two entire keystrokes.

    zip.mode                                zipOne

  • File as an attachment from ECC to PI then to third party

    Hi Experts,
    We are having resume parsing functionality in SAP e-Recruitment. The users are uploading their resumes on SAP Enterprise Portal. We want to transfer resume files in .pdf or .doc format from ECC to Parser server (third party) through PI. This file will be sent as an attachment to the receiver Webservice or HTTP User link.
    So what configurations should be done in ECC and PI both? What adapters should be used at sender and receiver both ends. Kindly help.
    Regards,
    Nikhil Save

    Hi Nikhil,
    First of all you need to decide how you would be sending the File from ECC to PI.
    You can send it via
    SFTP/FTP(basically using File Adapter) or
    you can use a Proxy and send the File as Attachment
    You can go with Option 1 if you have no other data that needs to be transmitted along with the file. Please read the following:
    Sending Text file without mapping using SOAP
    File(PDF as attachment)-->XI-->WebService(SOAP with attachment)
    For the Option 2 you can read the following Options:
    attachments via ABAP Proxy
    Does Proxy is capable of sending Attachments in .CSV files ZIP format?
    Proxy with Attachments.
    Please let me know if you need any other help.

  • Send mail w/ CSV zip file as an attachement w/o using StrictXml2PlainBean

    Hi Experts,
    Is there any other way to send an email to target, that has a Zipped CSV file as an attachment, without using StrictXml2PlainBean?
    I can't use StrictXml2PlainBean because it only accepts up to 3 levels of Recordset in the message type strucutre. The structure of my target is complex, up to 4 levels.
    Any suggestions?

    Use MessageTransformBean, that accepts more levels.

  • Image: display from local drive, upload to server file system, and display from server

    Hello,
    I am using jdev 11.1.2.4.0...
    The requirement is that users would like to upload images from their local drive to server drive and they would like display images from server drive later.
    We don't want to keep images in database. I am not sure what the solution should be; however, I plan to ....
    1. create a table to keep an information of images -- image_id, image_location (server drive), image_filename
    2. create a page where users can enter image information and specific filename from a local drive (I think I will use inputFile component) and provide the preview button to display an image on screen before save it. To save data is to save information to the database and copy an image file to the server drive (the destination location for image files is predefined.)
    3. create another page where users can browse information from the database and display an image for a selected record by getting from the server.
    I need suggestions on...
    1. how to display an image on page from the local drive?
    2. how to copy a file from a local drive to a server?
    3. how to display an image on page from the server drive?
    Thank you.

    Where Timo saves images to the database, you save it to the file system (examples on how to do this from Java are available plenty if you just Google for it). Similar to Timo you then use the image tag to display images. The difference is that you can directly add the URL from the database table.
    The benefit of using a database to host images is that you are not dependent on file server structures though

              wdContext.currentContextElement().setRESOURCE(cachedExcelResource);
              workbook.close();
              f.delete();

    Hi,
    I just worked on same functionality where i used a button to create excel file with context data and save in local system.
    Use the following code under a button, So on click of button you can directly get the excel file saved in to your desktop without saving on the server
    String ordcaeno="000"sysdate".XLS";
    String str = "";
    for(int j = 0; j< wdContext.nodeZflash_File().size(); j++)
    str =str"\n" wdContext.node<<ABC_File().getABC_FileElementAt(j).getRecord();
    try
    IWDCachedWebResource resource = WDWebResource.getWebResource
      str.getBytes("UTF-8"), WDWebResourceType.UNKNOWN
    resource.setResourceName(ordcaeno);
    IWDWindow window = wdComponentAPI.getWindowManager().createNonModalExternalWindow(resource.getUrl(WDFileDownloadBehaviour.ALLOW_SAVE.ordinal()),
    resource.getResourceName());
    window.show();
    catch(Exception ex)
    wdComponentAPI.getMessageManager().reportException( new WDNonFatalException(ex), false );

  • Is there any bug on ReadOnly attributes IDM8.1 ?

    Hi experts, it seems to me that IDM8.1 doesn't protect resources attributes declared Read Only in resources schemas. Even if an attribute is defined "Read Only" on a resource, it could be modified by user forms. Is it so? MTIA
