RFC to proxy scenario

Hi,
Here is scenario...
External non-SAP system invokes RFC from SAP and we want that this goes through PI.
Thinking about approach to have proxy on SAP side and configure RFC (definition is taken from SAP ERP system) sender adapter for other external system?
What are restrictions of this approach or is better to skip PI in this case, what are experiences?
Is there any online guide for this approach?

Proxy will alwaays be better option in this case, as it is adapter less framework, and communication happens directly with XI central integration engine. So it is always fast communication and gives good performance.
But still you should consider other factors, you may consider using RFC as well, as sometime we go for RFC/IDOC as this are the standard interfaces already available rather than creating structure...
May be you can share more info on what type/volume data are you planning to send via XI?

"MAPPING" EXCEPTION_DURING_EXECUTE in scenario RFC TO PROXY

I am facing a problem in a RFC PROXY SCENARIO and I don´t whether I can solve it .
System A : R3
System B : XI
And my scenario is RFC TO PROXY.
i will implement the proxy in the ABAP XI . For now I have entered no code.
I have mapped an rfc from r3 to my data type . My message mapping , Interface maping works very well .
When I start the program in R3 . I got the following error in the trace of sxmb_moni

Stan,
Follow the steps below:
1. Take the source XML message from SXI_MONI
2. Save the xml message into your desktop.
3. Log into Integration Repository and open the concerned mapping object.
4. Go to test tab and upload this xml at the source side.
5. see whether everything is green at source message type.
6. execute
7. you will find the error in the log immediately after executing
see for the error and take appropriate action.

FTP to ABAP Proxy Scenario - getting error CO_TXT_CHANNEL_PASSWORD_ERROR

We have transported PI and EP data from development server to respective production, every thing is running fine except the abap proxy scenarios i.e. PI reads file from ftp location and calls the abap proxy but we are getting following errors:

Please test the HTTP destination of your receiver comm channel.
Which is the RFC connection to your R3 system.
Transaction SM59 and check the logon parameter for the connection you are using.

Proxy Scenario (abap client)- XI, ICM_CONNECTION_FAILED

the client proxy while sending message to XI throws an error, which is seen in SXMB_MONI as:

I can see a stuck entry (LUW), for this in SMQ2, even on several re-execution of that LUW in SMQ2, it gives an error:

There might be the problem with the server having not to find anything matching the Request-URI. No indication is given of whether the condition is temporary or permanent.
*Possible Tips:- *
404 is an HTTP response code that indicates that the resource in question couldn't be found. Usually this is due to an incorrect URL, so it is better to cross check all URLs. Check pipeline URL in the SLD in the business system of the Integration Server For this go to SLD->Business System-><yourIntegrtaion Server>->Pipeline URL: It should be like this http://<host>:<port>/sap/xi/engine?type=entry Where host is the host name of the Integration Server and port is the HTTP(8xxx) port. To verify this in Integration Server you can do like this. Go to SXMB_ADM->Integration Engine Configuration->Choose Edit from Menu -> Change Global Configuration Data to switch to change mode. Then select System Landscape - Load Configuration. (This is not required always)
Check that the port really is the ICM HTTP Port and not the J2EE port i.e SMICM then menu GOTO --> SERVICES and check the port number for HTTP. It should be HTTP port
If the error is Page cannot be displayed, cannot find server in https configurations Check and correct the SSL configuration for the ABAP and the J2EE side of the system
If the error is because of integration server when using Proxy communications then check these. i.e SXMB_ADM->Integration Engine Configuration->Corresponding Integration Server enrty should be dest://<Http Integration server-Destination> Where < Http Integration server -Destination > is the RFC destination (SM59) of type HTTP connection (type H) to the Integration Server. In this case, host name, port, and path prefix are saved in the RFC destination

RFC to SOAP Scenario -- Delivery Exception

Hi All,
I am working on RFC to SOAP scenario.
On executing a program in the SAP system, the system is throwing a dump stating "com.sap.aii.af.ra.ms.api.DeliveryException: invalid content type for SOAP: TEXT/HTML".
I feel that the error is because of the response not being sent back by the webservice. On executing the webservice independently, it is working fine i.e. sending back the response.
Can anyone suggest the possible reasons for this error and what needs to be done to rectify this?

the return from the Web service must have been an HTML(may be an error page or something)...What kind of authorization does this WS look for ?

File to ABAP Server Proxy Scenario

Hi 2 all,
I am running File to Server(ABAP) Proxy scenario...
I have checked the ABAP Server Proxy at application server only and it is working fine....But when i am running the whole scenario my server proxy is not getting executed..( i.e my file is being picked up but proxy is not getting called ..:(( )
Can i expect some valuable inputs regarding this issue..?

to debug the problem....
first check SXMB_MONI of R3 system... where proxy has been created.
1 .check whether your proxy has been called ... it will be evident you get any message in moni for you interface or namespace..
2. check you proxy message has not got stucked in queue... sometimes message get stucked in queue and hence proxy are not called.. release the messaeg using smq2.
ELSE
1 .go to SXMB_MONI...of XI..
2. select 'Call Adapter' in right hand of monitor.
3. check the 'trace' under Call Adapter.
4. if you go at end of trace or somewhat near to end.. there should trace like...this ...

if you are getting same message as above ,,that means ur RFC is working fine...
problem is on r3 side.. for this go to r3 and check moni...

Query on using RFC or proxy

I have a scenario which is from SAP to PI to Legacy. The legacy system is giving a wsdl file.And from SAP we have a standard BAPI available. I am thinking of going for a RFC-PI- SOAP scenario. But there are discussions going on to use Proxy. Please let me know which would be the feasible option using RFC or proxy at the sender.IT is a synchronus

is depends upon the requirement- if u have std bapi of RFc available for the same requirement then go for that and if not then u can create ur custom program to send the data through proxy...proxy will have added advantage of performance..over RFC.

RFC-XI-SOAP scenario

Hi friends,
I m doing a RFC-XI-SOAP scenario. I m getting an error when tried to run this.
soap fault: Server was unable to read request. ---> There is an error in XML document (1, 297). ---> Input string was not in a correct format.
Is this because of any mapping error or SOAP URL error. Please advice.It is urgent.

Yes. It is a synchronous scenario.
I tried testing with SAP SOAP client.
Gave the inbound message payload from sxmb_moni as request. The error I m getting is
Failed to parse soap message
Original(raw) message:
com.sap.uddi.generic.impl.soap.NativeSOAPException : Failed to open socket
Cause : class java.net.UnknownHostException : proxy
Is this a reciever side server problem?

RFC vs Proxy

Hello ,
We are working on JDBC to RFC scenario in SAP XI,
We have to do
huge functionality like calling Two standard Transaction working on two BDC programs and Creating the Log errors and additional performs in side the RFc.
IS it advisable to do like that..
Or better to use Server proxy.
If we use server proxy what are the advantages and issues in this scenario.

Scenario is asynchronous
Http -> XI ->R/3(abap server proxy)
sender: Through http client
receiver is abap server proxy
Repository objects:
Sender: sender_DT, sender_MT, sender_MI(outbound asynchronous)
Receiver: receiver_MI
Interface mapping: source=sender_MI, receiver_MI.
Proxy generated on R/3 client 550 for receiver_MI.
this proxy internally calls an RFC which inturn updates a table.
Configuartion objects:
Sender: business service, no comm channel since http sender.
receiver: R/3 business system
Comm channel: receiver_cc type of XI.
transport protocol: http
message protocol : XI 3.0, since both XI and R/3 on webas 6.4

Rfc-xi-jms scenario

I have a rfc-xi-jms scenario. A message is triggered from ECC. HOw can I check whether
message is send from ECC ?? I mean ....I want to check in ECC system ?? Is there any Tcode
to see the success message or payload in ECC ?? In SXMB_MONI I am not able to see the RFC messages.

You are Right,
In Proxy there is no protocol conversion hence it might reflect in the Sxmb_moni.

Hi,
This is a Server Proxy Scenario.
To trigger the IDoc maintain necessary configuraions in R/3 and XI like.
1) RFC Destination (SM59) [XI & R/3]
2) Create Port (IDX1) [XI]
3) Load Meta Data for IDOC (IDX2) [XI]
3) Create Partner Profile (WE20) [R/3]
2) Create Port (We21) [R/3]
