RGS queue time-out

hi guys,
deployment is OCS 2007 r2 with latest CU, receptionist client is Attendant with latest patch (March 2011).
I've created test user and assigned to test RGS.
Its Group consist of this test user only (define custom group of agents),
policies are set to Informal, agent alert time 15s, routing method Parallel.
Queue consists of only this group, Time Out is set to 20s, Forward to SIP URI. No overflow.
When the test RGS is called (testing internally, from Communicator), call toast appears on agent's Attendant almost instantly.
I expected the call to be forwarded after 20s (time out defined), but it's fwded after around 30s.
Why is that?
When I had time-out set to 20s, and agent alert time also for 20s, call was forwarded after 40s!
Can you explain how this suppose to work, I can't figure out logic in this.
When I open help during RGS configuration, it states following:
Agent alert time (seconds)
Specifies how long to ring an agent before offering the call to the next available agent.
Note:
If the group is configured for parallel routing, the call will be offered to the next available agent in the next group in the queue (that is, if there is another group assigned to the queue) if the agent does not accept the call in the specified time period.
On the Time Out tab, you can send the caller to another destination if the system cannot connect the caller to an available agent in the specified time period.
Time out period (seconds)
Specifies the period of time that callers can stay on hold before they are forwarded to another destination.

The response group service can be a little quirky and I always find those timeouts are applied inaccurately.
For Parallel routing timeout and agent alert should be the same. For other routing methods the agent alert time is the time to ring a agent before trying the next. I have also noted that if you have serial routing, 4 agents with a timeout of 25 seconds and
an agent alert time of 10 seconds, all 3 agents will still ring for the full 10 seconds, the 4th agent will not ring at all.
Not exactly an answer not I hope it helps none the less.

    I need to create a JMS dynamic queue and wait to listen in that queue for say 5 secs. Can anyone explain how this works. i.e I want to know what will happen after 5 secs. Will I receive a JMS Message object which is null or it will throw some exception. How do I know that it has timed out.I need to implement some logic based on the fact that the message has timed out.

    Why can't use a timer whereby onTimeOut simply compare the present time and the time the listener starts listening to the dynamic queue. If this is above 5seconds then do what soever you intend doing

  • Queue getting time out error

    Hello ,
    We have a problem with q's getting error time out.
    Oue Scenerio is SAP AR - PI--SAP FCSM
    The messages are reaching PI. However when PI sends the message back to SAP, the queues were set to run as dialog (D/A) mode, hence the messages were timing out after the dialog process time limit was reached. So we changed the PI queues to run in background. After that the job completes in 0 seconds and nothing gets transferred through PI to FSCM.
    Can anyone help me in this problem or provide some pointers how to solve this.

    are you able to see the successful status in PI (message monitor/CC monitor)...
    there must be some exception fired ,you put a break point in the receiver prog. at start and check where is the problem.

  • Dequeue element times out even when queue element has new data

    Hi,
    I am using a producer/consumer set up and I am only getting one-iteration from my consumer loop.  I have probed the cluster wire that feeds the enqueue element of the producer and there is a continuous data stream there.  I have a timeout wired to the dequeue element in the consumer loop and have tried different times from 1ms to 1000ms.  It is currently at 25ms.  There has to be something else that is causing this issue, but I am overlooking it.  
    I also tried adding an event handler that would detect a value change in the data.  That didn't do anything.  I have tried to restart my machine to no avail.  I am about to shut down and take the battery out of my laptop and reboot (the act of a man out of options).
    If anyone could help, I would be indebted.

    I thought that I tried that, but either I didn't or I did it while there was another bug.  At any rate, the time-out on the event handler did fix it.  I appreciate your help.
    The reason I am using an event handler rather than a local variable is because I have been told many, many times that the local variable is somewhat of a hack.  They gave me other reasons, although they escape me now.  I do recognize and agree, however, that the local variable would work.  I'm letting the design asthetics of others dictate my code.

  • How to Increase Time-out for Agent Manager in OLT?

    Hello All,
    When using the Oracle Load Testing Agent Manager for a load test of multiple scripts, I often get time-outs at the start of a test from OLT:
    "Error communicating with.... : timed out after 60 seconds".
    When I check the agentmanager.log file on the remote PC (Win XP SP2) I can see that the communcation started with the last line saying
    "connected to server=......yaddayadda.... queue=queue/AgentPoolNotificationQueue"
    which I assume means there was communication. And there were 2 attempts to start. After the first attempt, the entry:

    The agentmanager_auth.log file show 2 lines near the start time of the test:

    Why was there a 'stopagent'?
    The log from a successful agent show lines after the "Connected to server...." line ( "startAgent( pathTo.....a.. Launching agent.... Launched process 8792944 for agaent agId.....") so something appears to have not happened on the failed agents.
    When starting a test immediately (rather than scheduling it as I want to for off-peak times) and the agents time out, I can stop it & restart test. Usually then they all start successfully.
    Does anyone have any suggestions on failure reasons & possible solutions?
    If there's nothing else that I might have missed, I'd like to trying increasing the time-out to say 120 or 500 seconds.
    How can I do this?
    Is there a way to get the agents to try starting again, or add a new vUser/script instance one the test is running?

    Hi Ramesh,
                          I guess you need to increase the parameter "icm/keep_alive_timeout" value, it's default value is 60. please gothrough the link

    To increase this go to RZ10 and add this parameter in Instance profile and modify the value then restart the server to make  the changes effective.

  • Resource busy time out oracle message - Concurrency and Locks

    I have a requirement to generate gapless invoice and receipt number in our application. so i have currently used the below approach.
    a. created table with a column to hold the invoice and receipt number sequence value.
    b. whenever transaction gets succeed. i will lock the table which holds the invoice number and receipt number inorder to avoid the sequential number slipages.
    Issue
    1. since the application belongs to online payment through portal by customers, when concurrent users trying to pay and while generating receipt number's, i am facing with "resource busy time out" message frequently. Here i noticed when user1 locks the table to access the receipt number value and session is not committed or rollback and another session user2 trying to access the same resource, in this scenario i am facing this error.
    Frequency of encountering this error is low, but customer was telling us this error is show stopper and affects normal business.
    Is there any alternative solution or method can be applied to overcome this problem?

    They certainly must be unique, but that's what a sequence will do for you. If the business absolutely needs gapless information, then they will have to be willing to pay the price which is going to be longer transaction times (as requests queue in a busy system to get this sought after gapless resource). Your job is to explain this to them ... nothing comes without a cost.
    The only thing you can really do (assuming you engage the business and the requirement doesn't change) is ensure the transactions are designed in such a manner that
    1) they complete as fast as possible AND that the locking is done at the latest possible stage of the transaction
    2) there is no user interaction (you cannot allow the users a "review" screen of any sort ... because users get silly sometimes and go for a coffee while reviewing things)

    Hi Mayu,
    here apparently the CMS cannot communicate to CBS properly and then when CMS tries to talk to CBS using a webservice, it times out due to various reasons, see below.
    Strange, I always had this error when the CMS was on a different release like CBS and this caused the communication problem.
    Don't you have an entry in your cms log like this?

  • Time out error in deploying the process on weblogic server

  • Getting Time-Out Error in Sync-Async Bridge

    Hi All,
    My IP has a Sync-Async Bridge. I have a fork, two senders, two switchs and a transformation step inside the bridge.
    If XI takes much time to process the IP, the send step that closes sync-async bridge is not waiting for the message after a particular period and throws time out error to the sender.
    Is it possible to increase the waiting time for sync-async bridge?
    This IP works correctly 8 out of 10 times. Sometimes the message is sitting permenantly in the queue(smq2) and gives me system failure error.
    Can u tell me why this problem happening?

    suppose there is a sync/async bridge ( i understand that it is used for sync business system too async BS communcation )
    where we have 4 steps
    sync receive - > async send -> async receive -> sync send..
    i do understand that async send and async receive are combined through correlation
    but i do not understand how do they work..
    i mean when async send say send a file to a target system...does async receive reads a file from the same folder based on the corelation or wat...
    basically can you pls explain me how do the steps 2 and 3 above work

    I have tested in the xi server: run->cmd->ping nnn.nnn.nnn.nnn and I don't reach the ftp server but if I test in the xi server: run->cmd->ftp nnn.nnn.nnn.nnn and introduce the user and password then I log in without problem and I can put the file in the remote directory.

  • Time Out Error while execution of messages

    Hello All,
    Our Env. is XI 3.0 , and this is related to PRD system,
    This problem is relating to an Outbound service. This particular message gets executed in some times and in some cases it throws Time out Exception .
    This is the following log which is from Audit log of that message :

    Success     Message successfully put into the queue.
    Success     The message was successfully retrieved from the call queue.
    Success     The message status set to DLNG.
    Error     Returning synchronous error notification to calling application: com.sap.aii.af.ra.ms.api.RecoverableException: Received HTTP response code 500 : Timeout.
    Error     Transmitting the message using connection http://xp0ci01:8080/sap/xi/engine?type=entry failed, due to: com.sap.aii.af.ra.ms.api.DeliveryException: Received HTTP response code 500 : Timeout.
    Error     The message status set to FAIL.
    Error     Returning to application. Exception: com.sap.aii.af.ra.ms.api.DeliveryException: Received HTTP response code 500 : Timeout
    Here CP1/130 is the CRM system which is sender in this case , and XP0 is xi production system.
    Can any one help me out to fix this issue, and if any parameter value need to be adjusted...?

    I have checked the mentioned Blog and the oss notes mentioned in it..
    I have compared all the parameters specified in it , and which seems to be fine as per recomended.
    HTTP_TIMEOUT   -30000
    syncMessageDeliveryTimeoutMsec --300000
    xiadapter.inbound.timeout.default -180000
    Few points which I am having doubt :

    When I login to SMICM of that system , I can find the error content in most areas and no clue about it..

    And when checked in trace file of dev_server0 , i can see some error messages relating to rfc logon load(SMLG) , but I have checked in SMLG and load balancing is defined over there and the status is also green.
    Now one small doubt is , any way this error is relating to the existing problem ..

  • WLS 8.1 SP5 Message bridge doesn't refresh connection after idle time out

    Hi,
    I am seeing in the log after enabling the debug flags that message bridge intermittently stops refreshing the connection without logging further info and causing a production failure.Bridge is forwarding the message from WLS 8.1..5 DQ to the remote MQ 6.0 queue.
    Below is the snippet which doesn't come in the log which suggests that bridge stops refreshing the connection.
    <BEA-200027> <Bridge "CASLDNSenderBridge" works in asynchronous mode and has not received messages for the predefined maximum idle time. The connections to the adapters will be interrupted and reestablished.>
    The above message does appear everytime but intermittently it stops and the messages put after this leading to the exceptions.The bridge has been configured in asynchronous mode and the idle time out is configured as 60 secs.
    Can somebody please let me know if there is any known issue with 8.1 SP5 where message bridge stops refreshing connection intermittently or how to debug this further.

    I would normally suggest raising the issue with support, but I recall hearing that 8.1 is nearing the end of its support cycle, so I'm not sure that's an option for you. Other options:
    - try upgrading to a newer SP, or better yet, a new version of WebLogic
    - try changing to synchronous forwarding
    - examine thread dumps from when the bridge appears to be stalled
    - post the exception that bridge is throwing when it tries to connect
    - try patching MQ (the problem could be on the MQ side, and perhaps an older version of the bridge may not be fully capable of handling all of MQs minor quirks)
    - write a program to (A) detect inactivity on the src destination, and (B) somehow restart the bridge and/or all of WL when this occurs

  • Scheduling - Min. queue time & work center / reduction

    Hello,
    I have a small issue with scheduling of production order.
    I have maintained in a work center with Std. queue time = 15 days and Min. queue time = 7 days.
    Means less then 7 days it should be not reduced and by enough time it should be calculated with 15 days.
    I know the forward scheduling production takes 20 days ( 5 days for first operation plus 15 days Std. queue time for second operation)
    By backwards I schedule the finish date which is less then 20 days in the future.
    I would expect system would take 7 days (Min. queue time) instead of 15 days with using reduction strategy.
    But system throws the message "Start date is in the past: today scheduling" and increases the finish date, with queue time = 15 day, instead to take
    7 days!
    I dont see system takes Min. queue time in account. Please help to find the error. Thansk!

    Yes .Reduction strategy is only for floats to carry out detail scheduling
    Reduction in the float before and after production in the order, expressed as a
    percentage of the original float.
    For example  :
    The original float before and after production was 10days in both cases. You
    have entered level 2 as the maximum reduction level. The reduction of the float
    is in the first level 40 and in the second level 60.
    This means that in the first level the float is reduced by 40% of the
    original value, that is 6 days. In the second level the float is reduced by 60% of
    the original value, that is to 4 days

  • SOAP Adapter: Connection time out error

    Hi Guys,
                I do it one scenario for Proxy to webservice Asynchronous . I have send the input details through Proxy. In Sxmb_Moni shows success message. But Receiver side doesn't reach the payload. Because receiver side (Soap Adapter) shows connection time out error. But i have given correct URL and SOAP Action in receiver communication channel. Please give some suggestions to solve that issues. Please don't refer links.

    increase the timeout value by specifying the parameter
    XI.Timeout in the module parameter of soap Adapter
    OR
    1. This is because of TimeOut. The default timeout value for synchronous calls is 5
    minutes. You can increase this value by setting parameter XI.Timeout in the module parameter table of
    the SOAP adapter. The value must be given in milliseconds. For example, value 600000
    represents the timeout value of 10 minutes. This parameter is not recognized in systems prior to SP13.
    2.The Other Options is send the queue id with your request message.

    &version=3.0&...&QueueId=xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
    where xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx is an ABAP queue ID.
    3.Check your RWB message monitoring.
    Is there any system failure message and holding message be there.
    If then clear the messages.
    4. Increase the time out parameter for HTTP in your altova xml spy.Defaultly it will be very low.

  • User event or event structure time-out

    Hi,
    I have two VIs one is a producer, one consumer.
    The consumer VI is called programatically (i.e. not wired) when the producer VI is run
    Both have user interfaces using an event structure.
    I have a control on the producer that i wish to use to trigger an event in/pass a value to the consumer VI. I have implemented this in two ways, but am not sure which is the 'preffered solution'.
    Solution 1:
    Detect  control activation in the producer VI using event structure, load new value in to a global variable.
    Use the time out event case in the consumer VI to load the value from the global variable.
    Solution 2:
    Set up a user event in the producer VI, load the Event Registration Refnum in to a global variable, use the event structure to create a new event when the control value is changed by the user.
    Use  Event Registration Refnum global variable in the consumer VI to trigger the event structure (loaded once, when the VI is first loaded).
    Solution two means the time-out event case does not need to be active, meaning the consumer VI will be doing nothing except waiting for either the user event, or direct user interaction. It will also not have the potential time delay of up to 1 x the time-out value of the event structure. It does require a sequenced start of each VI for the Event Registration Refnum to be loaded in to the global variable before the global variable is read by the consumer VI.
    My end application will be utilising a number of consumer VIs and will require user interaction information from the producer to be passed to them. Which proposed structure would be the generally accepted better practice? 
    ...or if i've missed the best solution, where should i be looking?
