RME 4.3 SyslogAnalyzer error

Hi,
I've installed LMS 3.2 with RME 4.3.
After service start for a few days, the syslog collector stop unexpectedly.
I can see the syslog.log file being updated but I can't see any syslog from report generator.
Also I got no alarms from automated action.
So I checked SyslogAnalyzer.log file, it shows:

All other LMS function works normally, except syslog collector.
Any advice?

Has the default location of the config files changed from:
Windows: C:/PROGRA~1/CSCOpx/files/archive/config
Solaris: /var/adm/CSCOpx/files/archive/config
to some other directory or path?
If Solaris are the permissions ok on
/var/adm/CSCOpx/files/archive/config
They should be 750 on the directories in here and then the .cfg files these directories should be 640
Also, the owner of the files and directories should be user casuser with group casusers and not root

1. Bounce the Repository's DB Instance. Usually an indication
of RME errors.
2. Goto RAU and perform all of your maintenance
a. Compute Statistics
b. View Objects and Recompile all 'INVALID' objects
c. Clear temporary tables.
3. If you are reverse engineering with DBA privileges then you
are going to retrieve alot of uneccessary objects. Be explicit
in your retrieval.

Repository API RME-00020&00011

I have installed in this order:
Personal 8i windows 98
Developer 6.0
Designer 6.0
I was able to install the repository with the repository admin tool but when I try to create an application I get several errors
RME-00223: Failed to open new activity
RME-00222: Failed to dispatch operation to Repository
RME-00011: Operation 'open' on ACTIVITY has failed
RME-00020: Internal API error - ORA-06508: PL/SQL: could not find program unit being called
RME-00011 API Operation failed for some reason
RME 00020 The API detected an internal inconsistancy - Action contact desiger support ORA 06508 Psql could not find program unit being called
Has anyone run into this?

I have run into RME-00011 as well.
It could be solved in the following way.
The reason, was the parameter
-> large_pool_size,
which is initially set to 600kB. This is too small. Set it to 1MB (1048576 in init.ora). This solved my problem.
May be it helps in your case as well, although there may still be another reason. You should check if any of the repository objects are missing or invalid.
If it works, send a mail!

Error installing Designer's Repository

I try to install designer 10 R2 123 . When I try to create a new application_system I have and error RME with an associated error ORA 06508 could not find the program unit;
When I looked with view objects two package bodies fail to compile, JR_REG_IO and RM_DBG
error:PLS 201 identifier UTL_file must be declared.
Can somebody help me?

First of all, use the repository owner's username and password only to install the repository, and do administrative tasks, like granting a new user access to the repository, or upgrading the repository. Don't use it for day to day work, including installing the tutorial.
Second, did you set the registry variables EXECUTE_EXP and EXECUTE_IMP to point to the versions of your EXP.EXE and IMP.EXE that go with your database? This will be in a different Oracle Home from your Designer installation. This is very important both when installing or upgrading the repository, and when importing or exporting data to and from the repository. A mismatch between the IMP version and the database version can be a problem.
A TNS error can be many things. Can you give us the text of the error and the full error code?

Your basic problem is lack of space in tablespace REPOS_TEMP:
ORA-01652: unable to extend temp segment by string in tablespace string
Cause: Failed to allocate an extent of the required number of blocks for a temporary segment in the tablespace indicated.
Action: Use ALTER TABLESPACE ADD DATAFILE statement to add one or more files to the tablespace indicated.
I think the other errors are results of the first error.
By the way Designer needs a lot of resources, so I'm not sure whether XE willl fulfil these requirements.

Error when trying to copy a work area in Oracle designer

In oracle designer,I tried to copy a work area by selecting.
File-->>Change work area.
Then from the "Work area" pop up window,I selected the new option.
In the Create work area wizard i chose "Copy a work area" and gave the Name ,description and the work area to be copied.
When i click the finish button,I am getting the following error.
"CDR-01005: Workarea compilation failed: ORA-01422: exact fetch returns more than requested number of rows. "
Please let me know how to copy a work area in Oracle designer.

Oracle 6i Repository Internal API Error 25012

I am running into an RME-00020 Internal API error when I try to fire up designer and do anything. I followed the standard install on a windows 2000 Pro laptop, installed the repository and ran into this. The Oracle error is ORA-00600 and the internal error is 25012. I must have missed something. I have wiped and reinstalled the repository, but continue to get this error. Any avenues you can push me down would be greatly appreciated.
I'm running Oracle 9i on the laptop and have installed the repository on this platform. I downloaded Oracle 6i and am trying to use these together. I installed both in seperate Oracle Home directories as specified. The database is working just fine with another db, as I'm designing and installing that db with ERStudio version 5. I'm running on a Dell Inspiron 8000 with 512M of memory and 20Gigs of disk.

I have installed Oracle Designer R2.1.2 with Oracle database 8.0.5, when I want to created a new Application name it caused many errors.
Errors massage:
RME-00011 Operation 'open' on activity was failed.
RME-00020 Internal API error - ORA - 06508 could not find program unit being called.
Errors detail :
RME-00222 failed to dispacth operation to repostory.
RME-00223 failed to open new activity.

This is a very old and no longer supported configuration.
Both products have not been available to customers for a
long time.
However I looked at the errors you recieved and it seems
you may have failed to grant some specific rights to the repository owner (used to install the repository).
Try the entering the following SQL and see if this fixes
the problem:
grant execute on dbms_pipe to <repos_owner>;
grant execute on dbms_lock to <repos_owner>;
If not, I'm afraid I'm not sure I can help. I suggest
you contact Support to see if they can find any older
information for your specific versions of Designer.

I am currently using Oracle9i with Oracle Designer6i Release 4. Before I am able to use both Release 4 and Release 2 with Oracle9i. However, this time when I install it after a cleanup in my server. I have received the following error message when allowing a user to use repository using RAU:

I had exactly the same error and managed to get rid of it by deinstalling and reinstalling the client and the server with the patch (2083057) from metalink (I had previously used this patch for upgrade). There was no problem with user creation.
However, I get the same error when I try to do anything with the repository, such as, create an object. So, this is really of no help. Sorry.
Have you managed to get the installation going????
Is there anyone who has Designer 6i functioning (even partially) with Oracle 9i on a windows platform, or for that matter any platform??

Big crash sound sometime since OSX 10.9 and 10.10...

I have sometime a crash sound (sound destroy since 2/3 seconds), and I haven't find how resolve that
I have a macbookpro 2009, core2duo, 8 Go Ram, SSD internal, sound cart external Motu UltraLight MK3 (Firewire connection).
1) Before with OSX 10.8 Mountain Lion, I never have this problem.
2) There is 1 year, I install Maverick and I have sometime (one time on 2 or 3 hour) a little crash sound (silence or crash sound since 2 seconds).
3) There is 6 month, I add 4 Go Ram to have 8 Go Ram.
No change, after that I have the same problem.
4) All Driver are update.
(On internet, I see it's a problem that many people know but without a good solution, apple don't give the solution, it's sad...)
5) I see on internet that Yosemite resolve this problem.
I Install Yosemite 10.10.1 on an external hard disk (USB connection)... and I boot on it
no change :-/
6) I change my external sound card with an RME Fireface UCX (a nice sound card, I like it)
I think at a moment it's better because I haven't had crash sound since 5 day (5 x 5h use it)...
but the 6 day, there is a big crash sound since 3 secondes.
Why ?
At this moment there is : Traktor + Live + TotalMix (RME) + Digicheck (RME)
Too much prg run ?...
But I see that No overload cpu and 3 Go memory free....
Just for information :
Before with Motu Ultralight MK3 the message error (on consol) with crash (1 on 2,3 hours) :

No difference. I closed FFox installed Flash apparently and then went to Adobe - Flash Player where no animation nor indication of what version of Flash I do have installed. Chrome on the other hand displays this information. FFox plugins page shows that Flash is installed and set to always activate.

I've installed Designer9i on my computer. The repository lies on a remote database. Connection on the repository works very well, but I can't perform any operation on it. I get the message:

Cause: The .msg message file 'c:\orabase\repadm61\rmus.msg' for the product "RMMSGS61", utility "RME" could not be found.
There's no rmus.msg in this path, but a rmeus.msg file. Maybe we need a patch?. What's happen?.

Problem while using for first time the Repository in Des 6.0

After creating the Repository, with a new project, trying to use the process diagramer and defining the root process this message appears:

I'm wondering about that this works at your development machine.
You should think about attending a LabVIEW Style Guidline and LabVIEW Performance class.
But to fix you issues regarding the tdms file path you have to change a few things:
1. There is only a valid path when "Datalog OFF/ON" is set to true before you start the vi. You should change this by creating a new event case for the "Datalog OFF/ON" where the user then is able to start datalogging when the vi is allready running.
2. When "Show Measurements" is set to False you write an emtpy path constant into the shift register. Why? Either you wire the path from the left tunnel to the right or you think about if it is even necessary to wire the path through the case structure at all.
However, I would still recommend you to completely redesign your vi!

I am getting a following error:

Cause: Failed to allocate an extent for temporary segment in tablespace.
Attempted the following : Use ALTER database DATAFILE 'repos_temp.dbf' autoextend on next 1m;
But it comes back with "non-existent log file, datafile, or tempfile "repos_temp.dbf".
I can see the repos_temp file under by home database.
Please help.
