Rollover for checkbox component

I'm working with the CheckBox component for making a quiz.
I've got CB components labeled A, B, C, etc. with a textfield next
to them with the various possible answers. I want to have it so
that the user can rollover or click the answer text to check off
their answers just as if they had hit the tiny little check box.
I've got the checking/unchecking part working. But I would
also like for rolling over the text to provide the same visual
feedback as moving the pointer over the checkbox. And here I run
into a dead end. I can't quite figure out how to do this.
Poking around a bit I found that if I set the checkboxes
phase to rollover and invalidate() it I will see the result I
expect. But I'm not sure if that is causing other problems.
Anybody know the "right" way to do this?

wow rock - i suppose that you don't want to make the field
into a MC and use handlers for every one of them - and I'm betting
that you've built a dynamically propagated system. thought about
skinning them? with the field - seems like you'd have to modify the
base class then though. but I'm not sure how that would work either
- might be able to extend the class to handle text entry into the
field and maybe a glow filter to simulate the halo effect? i don't
know - just throwin stuff out there :)

  • Can i use one JSF component's value for other component in the same page.

    Can i use one JSF component's value for other component in the same page.
    For example
    I have a <h:selectBooleanCheckbox id="myChk"> in my jsf page, i want to access its value for another component like:
    <h:commandButton disabled="#{myChk.checked}" action="myAction" value="myValue" />
    ** "myChk.checked" >> I am just asuming "checked" property is available...

    Bind the checkbox to a UIInput myChk property. Then you can reference this property from the page, e.g.
    <h:selectBooleanCheckbox binding="#{myBean.myChk}" onchange="submit();" />
    <h:commandButton disabled="#{myBean.myChk.value}" action="myAction" value="myValue" />

  • Tree table doesn't update the data for checkboxes properly

    Hi All,
    I'm trying to use tomahawk tree table component to render a tree column of items along with checkboxes in other columns. Note that all the other columns except tree column are generated dynamically inside backing bean and checkboxes too added to the column dynamically.
    All works fine until it comes to the valuechangelistener.Inside valuechangelistener if try to fetch the component id from the event, it doesn't return the correct id and instead always return the id that corresponds to the last node of tree.
    Has anyone successfully used tree table to display input components? or any workaround my problem would be much appreciated.
    The code where I'm adding my dynamic columns as well as checkboxes is as below.
    for (int i = 0; i < roleNames.size(); i++) {
    HtmlSimpleColumn column = new HtmlSimpleColumn();
    htmlTree.getChildren().add(column);
    // Create header
    HtmlOutputText header = new HtmlOutputText();
    header.setValue(roleNames.get(i));
    column.setHeader(header);
                   ValueExpression valueExpression = FacesContext
    .getCurrentInstance().getApplication()
    .getExpressionFactory()
    .createValueExpression(
    FacesContext.getCurrentInstance().getELContext(),
    "#{treeItem.name}",
    Object.class);
    // Create check box
    HtmlSelectBooleanCheckbox checkbox = new HtmlSelectBooleanCheckbox();
                   // add the hidden input elements
                   HtmlInputHidden input = new HtmlInputHidden();
                   HtmlInputHidden input1 = new HtmlInputHidden();
                   // Bind changeRolePresent method in to listen to the
    // role permission change
                   checkbox.setImmediate(true);
    Class<?>[] parms = new Class[] { ValueChangeEvent.class };
    System.out.println("Adding value change listener to permission grid");
    MethodExpression valueChangeListener = FacesContext
    .getCurrentInstance().getApplication()
    .getExpressionFactory().createMethodExpression(
    FacesContext.getCurrentInstance()
    .getELContext(),
    "#{customTreeBean.changeRolePermission}",
    String.class, parms);
    checkbox
    .addValueChangeListener(new MethodExpressionValueChangeListener(
    valueChangeListener));
    input.setValueExpression("value", valueExpression);
                        input1.setValue(roleNames.get(i));
                   valueExpression = app
    .getExpressionFactory()
    .createValueExpression(
    FacesContext.getCurrentInstance().getELContext(),
    "#{treeItem.roleDetailsList["+i+"].selectedRole}",
    Object.class);
    checkbox.setValueExpression("value", valueExpression);
                   //checkbox.setOnclick("selectAll(this)");
                   checkbox.getChildren().add(input);
                   checkbox.getChildren().add(input1);
    column.getChildren().add(checkbox);
    In above code there will be four columns added dynamically and for each column a checkbox component is being added here. Rest JSF takes care to create checkboxes for each row of tree. But one thing that I noticed while viewing source that JSF is creating duplicate names for checkboxes in a batch of four (So for say if I had 3 rows, every row of checkboxes had same set of four ID's assigned, like ID1, ID2, ID3, ID4)
    Please help,

  • Valuechange listener called multiple times for checkbox in table.

    Hi All,
    I'm trying to understand how value change listeners work for checkbox components within a table column. I have a checkbox declared as below
    <af:selectBooleanCheckbox id="sbc1"
    valueChangeListener="#{pageFlowScope.classfiyBean.checkBoxValueChangeListener}"
    immediate="true"
    autoSubmit="true" />
    I notice the value change listener is called multiple times. There are 6 rows in the table within which the checkbox is a component. It is called 6 times for a change. How do I prevent this from happening as it's over writing the values of the other rows as well.
    Scenario : The page is based on a human task, so the outcome button cannot be set to Immediate = true since there are other validations on the page.

    Hi
    Please make sure that Is there any logic being implemented in WD MODIFY VIEW of view controller.
    If yes that may be the cause of your problem because WDModifyView() is being called every time u perform an action.
    or
    Try to Invalidate current context node which is bound to table UI element and actually containing data at run time. I think this node is not being refreshed. Try to refresh it in Search Button action.
    or
    Check your loop code snippet, if you implemented it anywhere.

  • JDeveloper 11.1.1.3: Best Practice for Checkboxes in Table

    Hi there,
    I'm having problems with checkboxes inside the table component.
    Can someone please fill me in as to what the best practice is to use checkboxes inside a table ?
    In the database, we are storing values Y and N.
    Thanks,
    Mark

    Hi Mark,
    I suppose you are talking about ADF Faces applications. If so, then I have two prefered approaches tested and used in real practice:
    *1) First approach: Create a simple converter, define it in the faces-config.xml and set it in the <af:selectBooleanCheckbox> tags' "converter" attribute, for example:*
    package mypackage;
    import javax.faces.application.FacesMessage;
    import javax.faces.component.UIComponent;
    import javax.faces.context.FacesContext;
    import javax.faces.convert.Converter;
    import javax.faces.convert.ConverterException;
    public class BooleanYNConverter implements Converter {
      public BooleanYNConverter() {
      public Object getAsObject(FacesContext facesContext, UIComponent uiComponent, String string) {
        if (string==null) return null;
        String s = string.trim();
        if (s.length()==0) return null;
        if (s.equalsIgnoreCase("true")) return "Y";
        if (s.equalsIgnoreCase("false")) return "N";
        FacesMessage errorMessage = new FacesMessage(FacesMessage.SEVERITY_ERROR,
            "Cannot convert " + string + " to Y/N. It must be either true or false",
            "Cannot convert " + string + " to Y/N. It must be either true or false" );
        throw new ConverterException(errorMessage);
      public String getAsString(FacesContext facesContext, UIComponent uiComponent, Object object) {
        if (object == null) return "";
        if (object.equals("Y")) return "true";
        if (object.equals("N")) return "false";
        FacesMessage errorMessage = new FacesMessage(FacesMessage.SEVERITY_ERROR,
            "Cannot convert " + object + " to true/false. It must be either Y or N",
            "Cannot convert " + object + " to true/false. It must be either Y or N" );
        throw new ConverterException(errorMessage);
    }In faces-config.xml:
      <converter>
        <converter-id>BooleanYNConverter</converter-id>
        <converter-class>mypackage.BooleanYNConverter</converter-class>
      </converter>In JSF page:
    <af:selectBooleanCheckbox ... converter="BooleanYNConverter"/>
    N.B. If you use this approach, the ViewObject attribute's Control Type should be set to "Default" instead of "Checkbox" (see the attribute's Control Hints section in the dialog box)!
    *2) Second approach: In the PageDef define a button binding for Y/N values and map the corresponding item in the table binding to this button binding. In this way you will remap VO attribute's Y/N value to true/false as how the checkbox component expects it. Neither converters nor additional configuration is necessary, but you have to do this on each checkbox field again:*
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" ?>
    <pageDefinition xmlns="http://xmlns.oracle.com/adfm/uimodel" version="11.1.1.56.60" id="TestPagePageDef" Package="view.pageDefs">
      <parameters/>
      <executables>
        <variableIterator id="variables"/>
        <iterator Binds="DeptViewRO" RangeSize="25" DataControl="AppModuleDataControl" id="DeptViewROIterator"/>
      </executables>
      <bindings>
        <tree IterBinding="DeptViewROIterator" id="DeptViewRO">
          <nodeDefinition DefName="model.DeptViewRO" Name="DeptViewRO0">
            <AttrNames>
              <Item Value="DeptID"/>
              <Item Value="DeptName"/>
              <Item Value="Flag" Binds="MyFlag"/>
            </AttrNames>
          </nodeDefinition>
        </tree>
        <button IterBinding="DeptViewROIterator" StaticList="true" id="MyFlag">
          <AttrNames>
            <Item Value="Flag"/>
          </AttrNames>
          <ValueList>
            <Item Value="Y"/>
            <Item Value="N"/>
          </ValueList>
        </button>
      </bindings>
    </pageDefinition>In the sample above the target VO attribute is called Flag. Have a look at the line <tt><Item Value="Flag" Binds="MyFlag"/></tt>. This line does the magic.
    Hope I've been a bit helpful.

    There was a little mistake: Instead of BooleanYNConverter I had written BooleanYNCheckbox in the <af:selectBooleanCheckbox> tag.

  • Want to handle event for component defined inside skin for host component

    Hi,
    Following is how my skinned button looks -
    As can be seen, there is a checkbox - which is a part part button skin.
    When mouse is over chckbox area and does clicked, I wanted to capture that event for checkbox as target. Objective is to mark checkbox as checked or unchecked when clicked on. I don't want checkbox to change its state when mouse is clicked over other area in button.
    Don't know whether it is possible or not. If yes, what is the best way to do it.
    Thanks in advance,

  • 'schema is missing for the component ' while creating a web service

    Hello,
    I am trying to create a web service in Application Explorer on my dev server as described in:
    http://download-east.oracle.com/docs/cd/B31017_01/integrate.1013/b28996/config.htm#BABBJHHF
    I use an adapter for JDE Edwards EnterpriseOne. After supplying the parameters (service, license, method name) I get: com.ibi.bse.AddWSWorker:java.lang.Exception: schema is missing for the component.
    I think the environment (JDE system, GenJava files) is configured correctly as I am able to communicate using J2CA.
    Debug mode produces ibse_log.txt with some errors (below) but this does not give me a clue to the solution. Could you point me in the right direction?

  • How to get Cost element for a component in co03 cost analysis report

    Hi,
    I'm using table COSP to find the quantity for a production order component.  However, I need to identify the cost element first to get the unique data.  In CO03 cost analysis report, there is cost element for the component.  Does anyone know how to get it ?
    Thanks.

    CSKA stores the basic info about the cost element
    There is no data in CSKB.
    I'm trying to use different tables to get the cost element.
    AUFK, AFKO, AFPO, RESB, ...but no luck...

  • FM for deleting Component from Ibase Hierarchy

    Hi,
    Is there any FM for deleting Component from Ibase Hierarchy.
    I have tried using the FM "CRM_IBASE_COMP_DELETE", it is anyway deleting the component from the hierarchy but not those component
    whose is already assigned to a Contract.
    I have read these similar thread of only deleting a component but it was not very helpful in my scenario.
    In CRM, standard way of removing the component from Ibase Hierarchy is to "CUT" the component  and save. The mentioned component will not
    be seen in Ibase hierarchy.
    So is there any FM which can actually remove or cut the component from the hierarchy even though it is assigned to any contract etc.
    Awaiting for your expeditious help on this issue,
    Thanks and Regards,
    Jojy

    Hi Naresh,
    Thanks for your response,
    Is there any way of doing the same from Std. FM apart from doing it manually.
    Mine is Interface scenario in which the call will be instantaneous.
    I have tried to dismantle the component also, but it will be remain present in Ibase hierarchy even though it is associated to any contract or not with dismantle sign in it's hierarchy .
    I want to cut it so that it will not remain in Ibase hierarchy, it can be present in CRM system.

  • User command for checkbox in alv grid output

    Hi,
    Does anyone knows the user command for checkbox in alv grid display. My requirement is to have a column for checkbox in alv output. When the user checks the checkbox, a pop-up dialog box will appear. This dialog box was created in screen painter. I can't find the user command for this. Please help.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
    there r two ways for creating checkbox col on the ALV grid.
    1.)  take an extra field in your internal table i.e
    data:
       checkbox type c.
    loop at internal_table into wa.
    checkbox.
    endloop.
    or
    the fieldcatalog attribute
    2.) wa_fcat-checkbox = 'X'.
    append wa_fcat to t_fcat.
    clear wa_fcat.
    if itab-checkbox = 'X'.
    call screen <dialogbox screen number>.
    endif.

  • Java.lang.IllegalStateException: duplicate Id for a component

    Hi everyone,
    please I'm really having a serious issue on the duplicate id for a component in view.
    I have a page of which I used the <jsp:include> tag to add to some pages of my application.
    The page have the following code snippet in it
    <%@taglib prefix="f" uri="http://java.sun.com/jsf/core"%>
    <%@taglib prefix="h" uri="http://java.sun.com/jsf/html"%>
    <%@taglib prefix="a4j" uri="http://richfaces.org/a4j"%>
    <%@taglib prefix="rich" uri="http://richfaces.org/rich"%>
    <f:subview id="footerView">
          <table width="80%" border="0" align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="1">
          <tr>
              <td>
                   <h:outputLink id="homeLink" value="#{facesContext.externalContext.requestContextPath}/index.jsf"
                                 rendered="#{facesContext.viewRoot.viewId != '/index.jsp'}">
                        <h:outputText value="Home |"/>
                    </h:outputLink>
              </td>
             </tr>
          </table>
    </f:subview>The problem is that I always get this exception :
        java.lang.IllegalStateException: duplicate Id for a component footerView:homeLink
         org.ajax4jsf.application.AjaxStateManager$TreeStrutureNode.apply(AjaxStateManager.java:326)
         org.ajax4jsf.application.AjaxStateManager$TreeStrutureNode.apply(AjaxStateManager.java:348)
         org.ajax4jsf.application.AjaxStateManager$TreeStrutureNode.apply(AjaxStateManager.java:348)
         org.ajax4jsf.application.AjaxStateManager.saveSerializedView(AjaxStateManager.java:236)
            .........This exception always occurs whenever I tried invoking an action or event call in like the ones listed
    below in any of the enclosing page..
    <h:selectOneRadio immediate="true" required="true" id="optionsRadio" value="#{myBean.optionType}" layout="lineDirection"valueChangeListener="#{eventBean.updateOptionTypeEvent}">
         <f:selectItems value="#{listManagerBean.staticListDataMap['OPTION_TYPE']}"/>
         <a4j:support ajaxSingle="true" ignoreDupResponses="true" immediate="true" event="onblur"/>
    </h:selectOneRadio>
    OR
    <a4j:commandButton type="submit" value="Submit Now!" action="#{bean.someAction}"/>
          <h:commandButton type="submit" value="Click Me"/>Yet there is no other component in view with the said id "footerView:homeLink".
    So I'm really at a loss on what to do.
    Any help will be greatly appreciated.

    Hi, I have the same issue.
    In my case I have a page that includes one page with richfaces components and if another link is clicked, it includes anotherone without richfaces.
    But both included pages contain some identical subpages.
    Everytime I call the page with the richfaces components and then the other one I get
    java.lang.IllegalStateException: duplicate Id for a component webSourceSetupForm:executionTab:executionTable:executionDayList
         org.ajax4jsf.application.AjaxStateManager$TreeStrutureNode.apply(AjaxStateManager.java:442)
         org.ajax4jsf.application.AjaxStateManager$TreeStrutureNode.apply(AjaxStateManager.java:464)This worked fine before I added richfaces....
    The id is even different in both cases. in on it is webSourceSetupForm:executionTab:executionTable:executionDayList in the other jdbcSourceSetupForm:executionTab:executionTable:executionDayList
    Did you find a solution to the problem?
    Anyone has any idea?
    Thank you,
    Mathis

  • (For Each) component in OSB

    I am trying to use “For-Each” component to loop through the bulk message to be de-bulked and publish individual messages from the loop. However the loop does not execute multiple times. It goes through the for-each component only once. The bulk message is ";" separated text messages.
    There are about 4-5 different parameters to be set for the component; like count, index, in param and xpath.
    What best values to be put in them so that the component yields desired effects?
    Thanks in advance.

    Thanks for getting back on this.
    I have converted my input message to XML using MFL transform.
    Now the bulk messages in XML looks like following:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <BUlkMessage>
    <Transaction>Message1</Transaction>
    <Transaction>Message2</Transaction>
    <Transaction>Message3</Transaction>
    <Transaction>Message4</Transaction>
    <Transaction>Message5</Transaction>
    </BUlkMessage>
    Following are the parameters of FOR-EACH component:
    For each variable: v_forEach
    XPath: v_XML.BUlkMessage.Transaction (here v_XML is the above XML)
    In Variable : v_XML
    Index Variable: i
    Count Variable: count
    With this the the flow used to exit the for each component with out getting executed.
    What correction needs to be done for execution of FOR-EACH component so that the loop would iterate for 5 times. i.e. same number of times that of the bulk message.
    Regards
    Subhendu

  • How to create a hint for a component(awt),thanks

    How to create a hint for a component(awt),the component of awt has not the property.

    If you are talking about a tooltip, this is going to be hard.
    You are probably going to have to use a mouseMotionListener to get the event that the mouse is over the component and then a Timer to fire the showTooltip event if the mouse hasn't moved in some amount of time.
