Rotation of the user control in my Windows Store app

Hi everyone
I am making a Windows 8.1 app . I am struck up at a specific problem.
My problem is I have to add a rotation in my user control when it reaches the top of the page.
Here is my code sample that can be downloaded and here is the
video of the android version where we can get the rotation understanding.
I need to rotate the user control exactly the way it has been done in the Android app
I am completely clueless about this.
To operate the app , download it , run it on simulator , click/tap at a certain place , my user control appears and it clips the region around my finger and keeps moving with my finger.

That's a rotate transform in conjunction with moving the location of the item on a canvas.  You should be able to figure it out from samples available on these topics.

NOTE: If I ask for code, please provide something that I can drop directly into a project and run (including XAML), or an actual application project. I'm trying to help a lot of people, so I don't have time to figure out weird snippets with undefined
objects and unknown namespaces.

  • User Control Settings in Windows 7

    I want to change the user control settings in Windows 7. I can move the control setting, but when I click OK, the change isn't implemented. It doesn't matter what user account I'm in.
    Is this a simple fix?

    Not a simple fix known to me, Dan.
    Something like this occurs when you install Office 97 (KB978591). Maybe that fits? If not, try the "Fix it" anyway. It won't hurt anything.

  • Talking to C# based WinRT components that contain UI features like XAML based user controls from a JavaScript based Windows Store app

    Can you create a WinRT component written in C# that consists of a library of XAML based controls and then used those controls within a Windows Store app using WinJS or via a JS Cordova plugin for Windows 8.1 & WP8.1?
    Is this possible or can you only use a C# based WinRT component that contains a library of XAML controls in XAML/C# based Windows Store apps?
    My understanding is that a C# based WinRT component containing non-UI code (i.e. no XAML controls) can be used in a Windows Store app written C#, VB.NET, JavaScript or VC++, but not sure if that principle would work with XAML controls
    wrapped via WinRT types. In theory a XAML control is a C# class, so could work, but not sure how would JS code read that and then launch for example a page or user control from/into its HTML based UI?
    Sandip Ahluwalia

    Right. The code in your app is C# code, but the actual Xaml controls (like the rest of the Windows Runtime) are native code. They are projected into each language (C#, VB, C++ in the case of Windows.UI.Xaml) in a way that appears natural for that
    language and the interop layer is hidden.
    You could expose a Xaml control in a Windows Runtime Component written in any of C#, VB, and C++ to an app written in any of C#, VB, and C++, and the control would appear as a normal C#, VB, or C++ runtime class. This won't
    work for Xaml controls in JavaScript, since the HTML window doesn't have the Xaml hosting infrastructure, but for non-UI code you can write a WRC in C#, VB, or C++ and it will appear as a normal JavaScript class to a JavaScript app.

  • Printing in Windows Store Apps

    So,
    I am changing this post because my problem is far more complicated (annoying) than originally expected.  If I were creating a WinForms app I would have access to System.Drawing and the Win32 API, but as I am currently trying to create this as a Windows
    Store app, it renders those possibilities moot.
    The idea is to print a small 1x1 inch to a specific printer.  Now, in the Runtime intrerop functionality I could search for the printer driver and just assign that value to the PrintDocument.  Using a graphics I could just draw the in memory bitmap
    to the document and send it away.
    However, in this hyper security limited context of the metro interface "store app" I have found so far only Windows.Graphics.Printing and WIndows.UI.Xaml.Printing namespaces.  Though they seem to allow for sending data to
    a printer thus far I have not found any indication I determine
    which printer.
    The whole idea is a closed box system, so no extraneous dialogs or user interactions.  They pick the image, set the quanity, and the golden hamster wheel spits out a printed label.
    Now, I can do this very simply in a WinForms application, which I will be working on concurrently so I have a final product to deliver, but for myself (and the client) we would prefer a windows 8 metro style app to do this.  (now if store apps just
    access the entirety of .Net that would so much simpler, but wishes and horses).
    So could anyone provide me a map for more advanced control of the Printing process from a Windows Store App that I might figure out how to send the print document to the printer I want?
    Thanks

    Excellent, thanks for the quick reply.
    For clarification, you mentioned a few terms that i would like to clarify:
    1.  windows runtime component / desktop printing API
    this sound like an actual windows 8 desktop application.  Like what you'd run on windows 7 and windows 8 desktop.  (Full .net 3.5/4/4.5 not the "Windows Store App").  Basically a Windows Forms application / class library / win service
    maybe?
    2. brokered
    this term sounds like there is a way to communicate from a Windows Metro/Store (XAML) App to a windows desktop component (a process maybe?).  If so, how does one do that.  If I create a WinForms application and create a class library for it.
    That class library can be used by any .net application that references it but in the Windows Store App project I can't reference a standard class library, but your use of the term "brokered" suggests there is a way to do this.  Where would I
    find how to do that?
    3. desktop
    Finally, by the mention of the term "desktop" red flags go up.  I personally will never use Windows RT because it lacks the desktop.  However, by the suggestions you've made here the only way to get my goal seems to be in using Windows
    Desktop features.  If I were to create the XAML App and the "brokered component" to thus have access to "desktop printing", is that something that will even work on a Windows RT machine?
    Thanks so much,
    J"SD"a'RR

    If it's a sideloaded LOB application, you can do this using a brokered component:

    DPS on Windows 8.1 is pure genius on the part of the DPS team. On a tablet

  • Wi-Fi SSID in Windows Store App using Win32 API

    Hi Friends,
    I am trying to get the available WiFi SSID and Signal strength of the networks. As there is no managed API that supports in Windows Store App, I though to creating Win32 DLL of  the WiFi SSID
    code and access from my C# code. Well I am able to access the Win32 DLL from my Windows Store App using C# code but the code fails at
    dwResult = WlanOpenHandle(dwMaxClient, NULL, &dwCurVersion, &hClient);
    if (dwResult != ERROR_SUCCESS) {
    wprintf(L"WlanOpenHandle failed with error: %u\n", dwResult);
    return 1;
    // You can use FormatMessage here to find out why the function failed
    I think its because the Windows Store App doesn't have support to access the network so it refuse the Win32 code as well. Please correct me if I am wrong.
    Then I was trying to find a way, and for C++/CX, will this help me, or a better solution if any.
    My goal is to get the SSID and the signal strength of the networks.
    And could you please let me know if there any way to get the Signal Frequency also, So that I can apply this
    formula.
    Regards
    Somnath

    WlanOpenHandle is available to desktop apps only: see the version information in the docs.

  • How to override the onTouchUp in the user control which can be used to fire the event not only on this user control, but whole application

     I am a new to the C# and WPF. Right now, I want to override onTouchUp event in my user control. Then I can add user control in
    the references for reuse. The problem is each time I want to test this event on the application, the event only fire at area of user control, not whole screen. Anyone has solution for this?

    You cannot just add a UserControl to a window and expect its OnTouchUp method to get invoked when a TouchUp event occurs outside of the user control. That is not how routed events work.
    The OnTouchUp method of the UserControl will only be invoked when a TouchUp event occurs from within the UserControl.
    The event will indeed bubble up to the parent elements of the UserControl and you could for example handle the event in the parent window:
    <Window x:Class="WpfApplicationSlider.MainWindow"
    xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation"
    xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml"
    Title="MainWindow" Height="350" Width="525" TouchUp="Window_TouchUp">
    The OnTouchUp method of the UserControl will however never get invoked when you touch an element outside of the UserControl because an event only travels between the source element and the handler(s). This is how routed events work.
    If you want a "global" TouchUp event handler you should override the OnTouchUp of the top-level
    window:
    public partial class MainWindow : Window
    public MainWindow()
    InitializeComponent();
    protected override void OnTouchUp(TouchEventArgs e)
    base.OnTouchUp(e);
    //do your thing...
    If you want to be able to reuse the functionality across all of your windows in case you have several you could for example create an abstract window class and make all your windows inherit from this one:
    namespace WpfApplication1
    public abstract class BaseWindow : System.Windows.Window
    protected override void OnTouchUp(System.Windows.Input.TouchEventArgs e)
    base.OnTouchUp(e);
    //do your thing...
    MainWindow:
    public partial class MainWindow : BaseWindow
    public MainWindow()
    InitializeComponent();
    <local:BaseWindow x:Class="WpfApplicationSlider.MainWindow"
    xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation"
    xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml"
    xmlns:local="clr-namespace:WpfApplication1"
    Title="MainWindow" Height="350" Width="525">
    </local:BaseWindow>
    Hope that helps.

    I booted up this morning to find my voice over feature active. A black bar was at the lower left corner of my screen. When I began to click on the users in my login window it would not respond. All that I saw was the black bar saying authentication busy. I was not able to restart, I was not able to switch users, I was not able to shut down. I decided to manually shut down my Mac.  when it booted back up I was looking at the disk utility screen. When I clicked on repair or race it indicated that my hard drive had already been arranged. I was looking at completely formatted drive and I was having to either restore from Time Machine or reinstall lion. I had a back up but why did this happen?

    A possible workaround could be to have the horizontal scroll bar visible all the time.

  • Problem with Office 2007 whenever I install the iCloud Control Panel for Windows

    Sadly I have a Win7 laptop as my work hack and am using Office 2007.  Outside of work I use iCloud to sync calenders between various iOS/OS X devices however whenever I install the iCloud Control Panel for Windows Plugin my email no longer loads. Outlook starts fine and just sits there with an empty inbox waiting for mail to load.  I can't even open the iCloud Panel from within Control Panel either to set preferences!
    Unistalling the iCloud plug-in resolves this but I really want to sync my iCloud calender with Outlook and can't see any other way to do it, plus it worked before and then just stopped.
    Any assistance would be appreciated.

    I tired everything that was suggested in the forum.  Tried IE and firefox to no avail. When I tried computers in stores both worked.  A friend of mine who has the 32 bit setup got it to work. Several folks have stated it is the compatability issue with 64 bit.  As a last resort, I loaded safari on my home computer, and yep, it works.  Go figure, apple product.

  • Where can i find the icoud control panel for windows vista

    I need to back up my iphone and cannot find the software for the icloud control panel for windows vista --- only for windows 7 and 8.
    Where can I find this as Ineed to back upp my phone before an appointment tomorrow to replace my battery.
    Thanks for your help

    Here: http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1687.
    If you're trying to back up your phone to iCloud, you don't do this on your computer.  You have to do it using wifi.  First go to Settings>iCloud, sign in with your Apple ID to create your account, tap Storage & Backup and turn iCloud Backup on at the bottom.  Then, to manually start a backup right away, tap Back Up Now at the bottom.  Connect it to your charger as the first backup will take some time to complete.  (Subsequent backups will be much faster as they only back up changed files.)
    After that, just connect it to wifi and your charger and lock the screen when you go to bed at night.  It will automatically back up daily.

    How to distribute my windows phone 8 app and windows store app without publishing in the store
    any business license or enterprise license needed..
    I am a windows developer talking behalf of my company i.e  wipro
    I have a question about the enterprise license   and  we are building an app for the limited users i.e our company employees and users and we do not want to publish in the store
    How to release the app?
    what are licenses etc needed?

    Hi,
    for developers distributing apps without Publishing in the Store, the sideloding Enterprise key license through volume licensing is required.
    Starting May 1, 2014, customers who want to enable sideloading will be able to purchase an Enterprise Sideloading key for $100 through the Open License program.
    An unlimited number of devices can be enabled for sideloading using this key.
