My application server is up and running and i can log on to application server control.
Kindly assist

Wow - that I did not know - will double check on that . How is the Portal works in 10.1.3? This is from Oracle's iAS product page:
"A scalable LDAP v3-compliant directory service plus additional security components including Oracle SSO, Certificate Authority, DAS, and Directory Integration Platform. * Limited use, with Standard Edition only." If it is standard edition and Portal is included, OID should be part of it. I checked the 10.1.3 new features document, doesn't say SSO / OID is not included (for standard edition). There are different editions such as the 10.1.3 java edition, that does not have Portal, etc. But the 10.1.3 does not have SSO/OID ? Can someone else verify this or point to a document that shows the features of iAS versions - I revisited the Application Server 10g FAQ pdf document (like a roadmap) but it does not say anything on 10.1.3 not having SSO. In the 10.1.3 related Release Objectives section it says "Extend SSO to non-Oracle Environmnents...". Thanx

  • DEV 6.0 team : Help req while running forms on the WEB

    I am using Windows NT 4.0 with Service pack 3 running Oracle8
    8.0.5 with Apps Server 4.0.7 and Dev6.0. I have been able to run
    Forms on the web and with Jinitiator and with out Jinitiator but
    there are a few problems
    1 ) The Tigger " When Mouse Click" does not fires on the web for
    a display item.
    2) when i set the CLASSPATH=E:\orant\forms60\java for forms the
    tree in OAS 4.0.7 stops showing and if i remove it from there
    then i am not able to run the forms for web through the forms
    designer
    3) the performnce is very slow how to improve the performance on
    Web with jinitiator.

    I can only speculate on some of your issues, but maybe they
    might give you some insight on possible alternatives.
    Mouse-Click on Display Item
    The display item does not, by definition allow modification.
    Have you tried changing the item to text and then disabling the
    INSERT and UPDATE properties to NO? I have tried using display
    items in the past, resulting in a grayed-out box on the web. To
    get around this, I made the above changes and created a mouse
    trigger to jump to another field when someone tried to mouse-
    click on it.
    Changing CLASSPATH on OAS 4.0.7
    I had the same results. The OAS installation sets the CLASSPATH
    to what it needs and changing it has the results you describe.
    I am curious, however, are you able to view the form from the
    Developer Forms Designer using the other CLASSPATH. I have not
    been able to use this feature at all. I read somewhere that
    this functionality is not available in the beta version. I
    would appreciate any information that you can share.
    Jinitiator Performance
    Assuming that you have already tried cache settings and short of
    the users having faster machines with more memory, faster web
    access, etc. I don't think there is much we can do but wait for
    Oracle and Sun to make enhancements.
    I have had some success with using IE 5.0 (beta) directly
    without the Jinitiator. My web applications load and run a
    whole lot faster using the same configuration that you describe.
    It might be worth another look!
    Hope this helps.

  • Forms 10g, OAS and Web Services.... help!

    Hello,
    We're in the middle of a project that was originally supposed to be a (simple :D) upgrade of an existing Forms 6i application to a Forms 10g application.
    During the course of the project we have encountered various problems with the older forms (shakes fist at Headstart code...) and as a side effect have had to upgrade our OAS to 10.1.2.0 (10gR2). That's fine, however we have recently been looking into replacing the C++ code that the old application uses to connect to SAP with a new Web Services system, using the SAP Adapter and WSDLs and BPEL and all the rest of it (steep learning curve).
    In setting that up it seems it would be advisable for us to upgrade to 10.1.3.x (or "get a headache" said Oracle Support...) However, I now read (in an article from July last year) that Forms and Reports are not supported in 10.1.3.x...
    So, do we ask our DBAs to go ahead and install the SOA suite 10.1.3.x? And if so, do I need to do something else to support our !0gR2 forms? Or will they just work? Can we do a "clean" install of 10.1.3.x or do we upgrade the existing 10.1.2.0 system....? Colour me confused.
    Help!
    Thanks in advance
    Dan

    You are correct, Forms 10gR2 is the latest and is not available on the 10.1.3 stack. I am also not sure if you are talking about writing web services or just consuming them. However you have 2 main options.
    you can install 10.1.2 and use 10.1.2 for Forms and use 10.1.2 for your web services - this should work ok but of course you are "handicapped" by only being able to use 10.1.2 features of BPEL and WS.
    Next option, you can install 10.1.2 for running Forms and run a separate 10.1.3 for running BPEL and SOA suite - nothing wrong with that. And if you write a web service and deploy to 10.1.3 you can call that from Forms.
    Example of calling an external web service from Forms
    http://groundside.com/blog/GrantRonald?title=live_demo_of_sending_an_sms_from_forms&more=1&c=1&tb=1&pb=1
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/forms/forms_modernization.html - calling a BPEL process is just like calling a web services

  • Running Forms on oracle Application 10g(9.0.4) on terminal Server

    oracle application Server Installation guide for windows states that
    Oracle Application Server is not supported on Windows operating systems that
    include Terminal Services (for example, Windows NT Terminal Server Edition and
    Windows 2000 with Terminal Services are not supported).
    My Remarks : It means Oracle Application server cannot be installed on the Windows server on which Windows Terminal Services are on.
    Please consider the following deployment scenario
    Server 1
    OS : Windows 2000
    Software Installed : Oracle Database 10g
    Server 2
    OS : Windows 2000
    Software Installed : Oracle Application Server 10g(9.0.4) on which Forms and Reports are deployed
    Server 3
    OS : Windows 2000 as Terminal Server
    Software Installed : IE 6.0 , that will act as Client Machine.
    I have following Queries
    1. Oracle does not allow OAS installed on Terminal Server, will it allow Terminal Server( Server 3) to act as Client and to run web base forms and reports on it.
    2.
    In case It allow to run forms and reports on Terminal Server ( Server 3) does it means thin client machines connected to Terminal Sever can access Forms and Reports.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Ankur Diwan

    The bottom line is that we don't certify running Forms using the features of a terminal server to serve up any part of those Forms. That doesn't mean it does not work, but its not certified or supported.

  • Run Form in HTTPS or SSL mode without installing Application Server

    Hi all,
    I have installed Oracle Database 10g and Oracle Developer suite 10g in my PC (Window XP). Now I want to implement SSL or running forms in HTTPS mode instead HTTP and I don't want to install Application server.
    Any workaround is there to run Forms in HTTPS mode without installing Application server.
    Thanks,
    Omer

    Performance issue? How old is your hardware? I am running OAS 10.1.2.3 on a Server 2003 VM which basically consumes 512MB RAM and ludicrous amounts of CPU/IO.
    In any case: as said if you want to test SSL in a real life scenario then enabling SSL in OC4J is not what you want to do. In production the configuration is completely different, as there you would configure Apache to run your forms via SSL.
    What comes to my mind would be to install Apache 1.3 (this would be the version OAS 10.1.2 uses), configure mod_oc4j there and configure it with SSL. On the other hand this also isn't the configuration you have in production so this also is not exacly what you want.
    If you want to verify if your forms application will run via SSL then most certainly it will run without changing your sources. The only things you might have to change would be if you do HTTP Requests from the database to your application server via utl_http or from the client to the application server via java beans or via the java importer.
    But for tests I'd strongly recommend doing it via an application server installation, and not via developer suite.
    cheers

  • FRM-92101 when trying to run forms from Forms Builder 10g

    I have been struggling with this for a few days now and have tried multiple solutions around on these forums without any resolution yet!
    Trying to run Forms Builder on a Windows XP machine with Oracle Development Suite 10.1.2.0.2 installed in its own ORACLE_HOME. The installation completes succesfully and I can start the OC4J instance.
    1) When I open up Forms Builder and pull up the test.fmb form and try to run it, I get the following error:

    Same issue here... Been trying to get this working since a week now. I tried all the solutions like memory heap and all but no luck.
    One thing that I would like to know is that, in some threads the resolution was to recompile the INS_FORMS.MK file under /forms/lib32 but with my installation I don't have that "lib32" folder under /forms/ and I can not even find that file anywhere in my entire installation.
    I am using 12.1.1 on Windows Server 2008.
    Any help or guidelines is greatly appreciated.
    Santhosh.

  • Unable to Run Form more than once!

    Hi,
    1. I create an oracle 10g Form
    2. I am trying to "Run Form" from within the Forms Builder. It runs OK.
    3. I close the IE, and try to "Run Form" again. It fails!
    My problem is that my form runs only the first time!!!
    However, If i try to run it manually by opening the IE and type: http://EH011W04G.greece.clb:8889/forms90/f90servlet?form=c:\myform.fmx&userid=lala/xaxa@orcl, it runs ok!
    I discovered that the problem is this:
    The first time i "Run Form" through Forms Builder, a file lets's say giorgos.htm is created in my Temp directory, and this file loads the form OK. The second time i "Run Form" through Forms Builder, a file giorgos.1htm is created and cannot load because it is not an html file!! If i rename it to giorgos1.htm it works ok!!!
    so... anybody can help me?
    thx for your time!

    Hello there, One Solution that i think is due to not closing the form application properly.If you happen to close the IE directly through the close button without exiting the FORM (with the Action => exit or through Exit_form ) then your forms instance keeps on running on the server and it only closed when timed out .That's why you are not able to run it again . but when you type the url itself it get loaded because it load the already running instance of the form so i'll suggest try to close it from Action=>exit and run again.
    Hope it will help you.

  • Internal error while running forms in oracle application server 10 G

    I am getting following error while running form in browser for oracle application server 10 G
    "Internal Server Error
    The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.
    Please contact the server administrator, [email protected] and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.
    More information about this error may be available in the server error log."
    where to find the error log and how to rectify it.
    Arun

    and at what time does the error occur? Upon starting the form? When you browse data? When you execute a query?
    Also: do you use Bean Areas in your form? How do you initialise them?
    Have you compiled the form against the same version of database and PL/SQL libraries as the ones you use in the runtime environment? Have you compiled the form in Form Builder? If so, try opening the form, hit Ctrl-Shift-K twice (!), then Ctrl-S, and only then Ctrl-T.
    Do you start the form from another form? If so, has this calling form been compiled against the same environment?

  • What are the Client machine requirements for running Forms 6i?

    What are the minimum/ideal hardware requirements of the client machines which run forms 6i in separate frames.
    The reason for asking this is that the users have multiple sessions of separate Forms frames. When they do a lot of activity/transactions, and try to do a windows Print Screen on a MSWord file, nothing seems to print on the Word document. If they save the document and reboot the computer and open the same word document again then the screen print shows up. I am thinking it is because the separate frames take up lot of RAM. Typical configurations of our m/c are PII 400's with 64MB RAM.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Lionel,
    As a general rule of thumb, the ATI Rage 128 Pro will not support a 20" LCD. That being said, there are reports of it doing just that (possibly the edition that went into the cube).
    I'm not that familiar with the ins and outs of the Cube, so I can't give you authoritative information on it.

  • How to run form in the background from command line

    how to run form in the background from command line

    Ummm....Oracle Forms is a foreground runtime kind of thing. What you want is a database procedure (or an OS utility - it depends on what sort of processing you want to do in the background).

  • ORA-04062 error when running forms with different users

    ORA-04062 error when running forms with different users
    I have a form that has a block that should display some data from another users tables. (The other user's name is dynamic, it's selected from a list box)
    I wrote a stored procedure to get the data from other user's tables.
    When I compile the form and run it with the same user I compiled, it works without any error. But when I run the compiled form with another user I get the ORA-04062 (signature of procedure has been changed) error.
    I tried setting REMOTE_DEPENDENCIES_MODE to SIGNATURE in init.ora but it didn't help.
    My Forms version is 6i with Patch 15.
    Database version is 9.
    Here is my stored procedure:
    TYPE Scenario_Tab IS TABLE OF NUMBER(34) INDEX BY BINARY INTEGER;
    TYPE Open_Curs IS REF CURSOR;
    PROCEDURE Get_Scenarios(User_Name IN VARCHAR2, Scen_Table OUT Scenario_Tab) IS
    Curs Open_Curs;
    i NUMBER;
    BEGIN
    OPEN Curs FOR
    'SELECT Seq_No FROM '|| User_Name ||'.scenario';
    i := 1;
    LOOP
    FETCH Curs INTO Scen_Table(i);
    EXIT WHEN Curs%NOTFOUND;
    i := i + 1;
    END LOOP;
    END Get_Senarios;
    I would be happy to solve this problem. It's really important.
    Maybe somebody can tell me another way to do what I want to do. (getting a list of values from another users tables)

    I think it should be a better solution to create a package,
    and put your own TYPES and procedure into it.
    CREATE OR REPLACE PACKAGE PKG_XXX IS
    TYPE TYP_TAB_CHAR IS TABLE OF .... ;
    PROCEDURE P_XX ( Var1 IN VARCHAR2, var2 IN OUT TYP_TAB_CHAR );
    END ;
    Then in your Form :
    Declare
    var PKG_XXX.TYP_TAB_CHAR ;
    Begin
    PKG_XXX.P_XX( 'user_name', var ) ;
    End ;

  • Form Builder crashes whenever I try to run form locally

    Hello,
    I am using Oracle Developer Suite 10g (Forms 9.0.4.0.19) on Windows XP SP3, IE8.
    Whenever I try to execute (run) form from Forms Builder locally Forms Builder just crashes (get error: Oracle Forms Designer has encountered a problem and needs to close ).
    Any help please
    Best regards.

    First, the Builder crashing has nothing to do with what browser you are using. The Builder crashing is a Builder issue. It is possible that the Builder is crashing due to a corrupted installation or permissions issue at the OS level. It could also be a bug. So, as I mentioned already, it may be time to upgrade to a more 21st century version of the product or at least consider applying a current patch to what you have. Patches are only available to customers with access to MyOracleSupport.

  • Can't run form from Form Builder 10g - Port configuration problem?

    Hi,
    I have installed the Database (10.2.0.1.0) and the Developer Suite (10.1.2.0.2) on two Linux machines (Red Hat Enterprise Linux ES 4 Basic).
    If I enter the frmservlet-URL manually everything seems to be fine.
    In one case I enter http://127.0.0.1:8890/forms/frmservlet, in the other http://127.0.0.1:8889/forms/frmservlet; in BOTH cases I get eventually a dark square and the status bar says "Applet oracle.forms.engine.Main started".
    HOWEVER, if I create a simple form with Form Builder and click on the Button with the green traffic light ("Run Form"), the form runs only on the machine where frmservlet listens on port 8890.
    On the other machine (frmservlet configured to listen on port 8889) Firefox pops up, the URL "http://127.0.0.1:32979/6dOrpwghCqnp8PhMT7KVT533m3IaArqFbPqPBOztZXWYSsNy" gets called, and nothing else happens. The screen displays the string "ORACLE FORMS." and the status bar says "Waiting for 127.0.0.1...", and it stays like this forever.
    I assume this is a port configuration problem, but I don't have a clue where to start.
    Any suggestions how I should proceed are greatly appreciated.
    Thank you very much in advance!

    Hi Frank,
    Thank you for your reply.
    I doublechecked my configuration.
    In the dialog Edit --> Preferences --> Runtime the Application Server URL is set to "127.0.0.1:8889/forms/frmservlet".
    However, when I attempt to run the form, the URL "http://127.0.0.1:33140/W2dwbV9eXS2fPkuKlxNhCxFWdEihwDviat2uV7ycrSotqwDN" gets called.
    The screen displays the string "ORACLE FORMS." and the status bar says "Waiting for 127.0.0.1...", and that's it.
    I wonder how the port number 33140 got selected. Interestingly, this time it is a different number; last time it was port 32979. In fact, the port number seems to change each time; I tried again and now it is 33189.
    I will now try to set the port number for the frmservlet to 8890.
    I choose Edit --> Preferences --> Runtime and set the application server URL to "127.0.0.1:8890/forms/frmservlet".
    I stop the container, open /home/oracle/OraHome_1/j2ee/DevSuite/config/default-web-site.xml and change the port number to 8890:
    <?xml version="1.0" standalone='yes'?>
    <!DOCTYPE web-site PUBLIC "Oracle Application Server 10g XML Web-site" "http://xmlns.oracle.com/ias/dtds/web-site.dtd">
    <!-- change the host name below to your own host name. Localhost will -->
    <!-- not work with clustering -->
    <!-- also add cluster-island attribute as below
    <web-site host="localhost" port="0" protocol="ajp13"
    display-name="Default Oracle Application Server 10g Java WebSite" cluster-island="1" >
    -->
    <web-site port="8890" protocol="http"
    display-name="Oracle Developer Suite 10g instance of Oracle Containers for J2EE Web Site">
    <!-- Uncomment the following line when using clustering -->
         <!-- <frontend host="your_host_name" port="80" /> -->
         <!-- The default web-app for this site, bound to the root -->
         <default-web-app application="default" name="defaultWebApp" root="/j2ee" />
    <!-- Do not delete this line. -->
    <web-app application="forms" name="formsweb" root="/forms" />
    <!-- -->
    <!-- <web-app application="forms" name="formsweb" root="/forms" /> -->
    <web-app application ="reports" name="web" root="/reports" />
    <web-app application = "reports" name="demo" root="/repdemo" />
         <!-- Access Log, where requests are logged to -->
         <access-log path="../log/default-web-access.log" />
    </web-site>
    I restart the container, start Form Builder, connect to the database, and open my test form.
    When attempting to run the form, the URL "http://127.0.0.1:33437/Pl0n3ky9vmU5z37A7ScBnQhsGwq3jwuzJpgTAKWPMOYIzT8K" gets called (again a new port number, apparently picked radomly within a certain range) and nothing happens: "Waiting for 127.0.0.1...".
    However, when I enter the URL http://127.0.0.1:8890/forms/frmservlet I do (eventually, after confirming that I trust the certificate etc.) get a darc rectangle and the status message "Applet oracle.forms.engine.Main started", which tells me that my setup can't be that far off target.
