Run Ping cmd in interval time???

hi all experts,
I have a projrect is: I want to test some device in my network is die or not by using ping command. My purpose is run Ping cmd in interval time (for example 10 s). And I want to write a application (not applet).
Can you tell me how do I do "my program is automatic run Ping cmd in interval time"?.

I know the function "write to spreadsheet file.vi"
can append the data
to file. You can use the "concatenate strings" to display the date,
time as well as data... Hope this help.

Hyper-V Only able to run one VM at a time

Hi all,
I have Hyper-V set up with about 3 VM's on Server 2012, but i can only seem to run one VM at a time.
The server has the following:
32GB Ram
1TB HD with 425GB free
When i have one of them started and running, it works just fine.
As soon as i try to run a 2nd VM, i get the following error:
"'PC1' failed to start.
Microsoft Synthetic Mouse (Instance ID 58F75A6D-D949-4320-99E1-A2a2576D581c): Failed to Power on with Error 'The name limit for the local computer network adapter card was exceeded."
I have tried to do the following:
Disable all networking on each guest VM
Removed DVD Drive
Increase MAC range
Set static MAC
Changed boot order to put the CD to the bottom
Disable the integration services from each VM
Each VM has different netBIOS name
Each VM has a different VHD and OS
When starting the 2nd VM, it gets to about 10% and then shows the above error message.
Is there anything anyone can suggest?

How to make two PCs (one local, one remote) control the same running vi at the same time?

Hi Labviewers,
I have a vi running, and two PCs are monitoring it, one is local and another one is remote.
I can see the remote front panel at the remote machine by using application property node, but it seems only one of the two PCs has the control of the running VI at the same time.
Is there any way to make the two PCs both have the control of the same vi at the same time? Switching back and forth the control between two PCs is really annoying.

What exactly are you trying to control?
Perhaps another approach? You could use "Shared Variables" from LV 8.0 and have a copy of the writer VI on each of the control PCs edit the value on the host PC. But as soon as I post, someone is going to talk about multiple writers to shared resources being a bad idea.... so just be careful or you may try to edit a value that has already been changed.

BPC 10.0 NW - How do I make Business Rules run one Period at a time

I was wondering if anyone has a way to make business rules run one period at a time before moving on to the next to the next time period (i.e. January 2014 calc prior to moving on to February 2014). In past SQL this could be achieved with a piece of script *CALC_EACH_PERIOD. Is there anything like this that can be applied in the NW platform for Business Rules? I have some logic that I want to run through a package on multiple periods at once. Part of this logic contains a Business Rule that uses a value from the preceding period. the Business rule appears to be calculating all time periods selected in the package at once so it is missing the piece that is supposed to come from the prior month unless the package is run one period at a time. I need the logic to run sequentially by time period (oldest first) when more than one time period is selected.

Hi Ravi,
The time a report runs is estimated based on the last time it was run. So you need to run the report once before you can see how long it will take. Also it depends on several factors... the database server could cache some queries so running it a second time immediately after the first time could be quicker. And there is the chance of changing filters to bring back different sets of data.
You could also schedule a report and then check the scheduled instance's status properties and view how long a report actually ran.

Running admincm.cmd gives an error

I loaded CM v13 on clean servers, i.e. didn't upgrade them. We now use MSSQL. I could run the demo databases and play with the system. All good.
Then I converted our Sybase databases to MSSQL. Now when I run admincm.cmd I get and error. "Invalid object name 'ADMIN_CONFIG' After clicking OK I get 'Node has no children'.
I suspect this is a conversion problem but have not been able to find anything on Primavera's knowledge base. Does any know what this means and how I may be able to solve it.
Also, do we have an knowledge base on the Oracle website for Contract Management?

My best guess would be authentication error.
Are logging to admincm.cmd with exp / sql? If so and it fails its strange that the CM is working for you (CM uses exp/sql user to acces database) unless you or someone have changed the defoult password for user exp.
If you have access to MSSQL server directly (via Management studio) try to logon as user exp and check which tables you can see in EXPADMIN databases ... perhaps this will give you some idea.
Oh and try resyncing the database user with server user by running query:

exec sp_change_users_login 'Update_One', 'exp', 'exp'
go

I suspect you have hardware problem with a fan sensor. Doing a software install will not help the machine needs to be taken in for service. If you run Apple Hardware Test in Extended Mode it should reveal the error code. If it does not then run AHT an additional 2-3 times to be sure in Extended Mode. Each pass will take about 30-60 minutes.

AFAIK there is no easy (pure java) way: either you exec something (depending on your paltform) or use native code. Appropriate privileges will be necessary.

Query running for a very long time

Hi I have a sales Query which is running for a very long time,
It is built on a multiprovider. The multiprovider gets feed from cube and DSO.
It is taking very long time to run.

First maitain BW statistics for that query and after that go to se11 and give table RSDDSTAT. just check how many records selected in data base and how many records transferred.
according to this statistics create aggregates by giving propose aggregates by using statistics tables. after running a query check in RSRT whether the data is coming from aggregates or not.
do not exclude any selections try to include in query restrictions.
try to create secondary indexes.

New user can not run ping from shell

Hello,
I am an extreme novice, but I have been able to install Solaris 10 on a SunBlade 100 and have created a second user. I want to be able to telnet or ssh to my system as the second user and then run pings and traceroutes from there to other network devices.
If I remote log in as root I get a # prompt and can run ping. If I remote log in as the second user I get a $ prompt even though the group [0], base directoty [], and shell [sbin/sh] are identical to root in the /etc/passwd file. If I try to run ping I get: ping: not found.
What do I need to configure for the second user so that the login receives the # prompt and is able to run pings?

I'm missing something. I want to create a user that is equal to the root. The root has # prompt and can run ping with no extra work. What do I need to do to my second user to get access to the # prompt and the ability to just type and run ping ?Oohhhhhhhhhh, root has that other prompt and his PATH statement is setup properly and mine isn't so I need to be him instead of fixing the user account.
You can set any users prompt to anything you want. You can make root's prompt a dollar sign instead if you want to and you can set an ordinary users prompt to the # symbol so what does that prove?
All you need to do is to fix the PATH statement in ~/.profile for bash or sh and the user no longer needs to type the full path or use ./ to run a command.
You have a lot to learn.
