Running GenData against an empty WIP database

We are running RP 11.5.4, and it is kicked off as an executable daily via a scheduling software package.  In many cases, we are dealing with low volume interactive systems, and having 0 transactions with an appropriate status code in WIP is a viable situation.  With our current settings, running GenData with WIP rules in the afgjob throws some 'MergeWIP' errors when there are no transactions meeting the appropriate criteria.  Is there an INI setting that will allow 0 transations to be processed without throwing RP errors?  A warning would be fine, but we halt our scheduled process when there are errors in the errfile.dat.
Thanks!
Tony

The Documaker documentation can be found online at http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/documentation/insurance-097481.html#Documaker
The WIPWarnOnEmpty INI setting is discussed in the version 12.0 Rules Reference (look in Oracle Documaker version 12.0).
After version 12.0, the Rules Reference was changed from being in a PDF format to a HTML Help file format (see WebHelp).
Returning a warning message
Instead of returning an error if it comes across an empty WIP list when merging WIP, the system can issue a warning. To have the system issue a warning instead of an error, set the WIPWarnOnEmpty option to Yes, as shown here:
< RunMode >
WIPWarnOnEmpty = Yes

    Hi All,
    I am trying to install sybase mobiliser platform 5.1 SP 03.I am  referring the following guide
    http://infocenter.sybase.com/help/topic/com.sybase.infocenter.dc01871.0513/pdf/Mobiliser_Platform_Installation_Guide_5.1…
    Now I have configured the ASE database server with default settings and now it is running fine.
    Now my concerns are as follows:
    1) I have executed the database schema (mobr5): 001_MONEY_drop_and_create_user.DDL with the help of linux command

    How do I check the created database schema and user with default name 'mobr5'?
    2) While running DBMaintain Against the Database Schema, I have followed the steps mentioned in the guide and made the following changes in the file dbmaintain.properties.ase
    database.driverClassName=com.sybase.jdbc4.jdbc.SybDriver
    database.url=jdbc:sybase:Tds:ASE1:5000/mobr5

    I have changed the database.url field  from database.url=jdbc:sybase:Tds:ASE1:5000/mobr5

  • Running forms 6i on a 10g database

    We are encountering problems running forms 6i on a 10g database. the forms keep dropping and we get ifrun files with access_voilation c0000005 error. Has anyone encountered this problem

    Some breaking news - we are planning to certify 6i against 10g - but as Frank points out - you will be required to patch up - we are targetting Patch 17.

  • Run queries against system tables for oracle BPEL processes

    I want to run queries against system tables for oracle BPEL processes. It is becoming very difficult for me to us EM as it is very slow,
    and not all the time, it is sufficient for our needs.
    We are doing load testing and we want find out info like how many requests came in and how many faulted and what time is taken by each request...
    So do any of you have the query that I can use and tables that I need to go against?

    Use the BPEL hydration database table "cube_instance".
    There should be plenty of example in the forum regarding this table.

  • Running HTMLDB against another Oracle Instance

    I have an HTMLDB dashboard onto our system and would like to be able to run it against a different Oracle instance. Ideally would like to be able to choose the instance on the login screen. Currently we have to setup dblinks to each of our instances and then customise the application to select from the relevant instance. Any ideas?

    AFAIK, Golden Gate has no requirement on Oracle edition to be used, but could have licence cost differences.
    It works on Oracle from version 8i to the latest one, not only on Oracle database, and not only between same Oracle version and same OS, and not only between two Oracle db .

  • Oracle Forms 6i client/server against an Oracle 10gR2 database

    Hello
    We have the following situation:
    Oracle Forms6i/Reports6i client server application against an Oracle 8i cost-based database. we want to migrate this application
    step 1:
    Migrate the database to 10gr2, but do not touch the client application
    Go live
    step 2:
    Migrate the development environment to 6i webforms.
    Production environment stays client server.
    With this construction we can still create new patches/functionality.
    step 3:
    Migrate to Forms10gR2 (and reports)
    I know Forms 6i is not supported anymore.
    My question is on step 1.
    When I read NOTE: 338513.1 entitled "Is Forms/Reports 6i Certified To Work Against Oracle Server 10g Rel 1, Rel 2 or 11g?" carefully
    it says that Forms 6i is not certified against 10gR2.
    On OTN I read several posts that this works ok (assuming you do not use the wrong character set).
    I also read on OTN that patch 18 (which is only supported for EBS customers) is certified against 10gR2.
    The questions:
    - Is Oracle Forms patch 18 certified against an Oracle 10gR2 database? (or only for EBS)
    - Is there anybody out there that can confirm that Oracle Forms 6i C/S works against Oracle 10gR2
    Regards Erik

    Thank you.
    Now I found it.
    But how do I read that page.
    It says:
    Client Certifications
    OS      Product      Server Status
    XP      6.0.8.27.0 Patch 18      N/A      Desupported
    Application Tier Certifications
    OS      Product      Server      Status
    XP      6.0.8.27.0 Patch 18      9.2      Desupported
    XP      6.0.8.27.0 Patch 18      10g      Desupported
    I read this as follows:
    Patch 18 was certified agains a 10g database in a webforms environment.
    No client server mentioned and Server 10g , so no 10gR2!
    I'm I right?

    Hi,
    From TOAD you can connect to three different databases- that is different sessions with different DB's
    make a use of union operator and execute the queries.
    You can see the output in - output window.
    Select the output and right click save to excel sheet.
    Parallely you can run 33 sql in other sessions, do the same process as stated above and save to the same excel sheet but different instance (different sheet of excel)
    Now compare -- its demo for how to utilize the tool.
    Other way around, Create one table with two columns table_name, count.
    execute the select queries with union Operator and directly insert into the table.
    Perform the same above two steps in different databases.
    Now, from one database - create database link to other two dabases and provide select privilege on that table in order to access.
    Now, write a query to compare two tables using dblink.

  • Long Running SQL and ORDS Spawns Multiple Database Sessions

    Hi all.
    We have a strange situation when accessing a long running SQL Report (a single APEX Page).
    The SQL takes about 15 mins to run but when I monitor what database sessions are spawned by the APEX Listener, I see multiple sessions all executing the same SQL. It appears that after 6 minutes, the APEX Listener spawns a new database session to execute the same SQL.
    Has anyone seen this before and if so, is there a key setting I am missing as I don't want this to happen. I am new to the APEX Listener and WebLogic so apologies if this is the way it's meant to work but it seems odd that after a certain amount of time (6 minutes in my case) a new database session is spawned to do the same work.
    We are running:
    WebLogic: 10.3.0.6
    APEX_LISTENER_VERSION 2.0.0.354.17.06
    Datadate: 11.2.0.3.0 Production
    APEX: 4.2.1.00.08
    Cheers for any help.
    Duncs

    Hi Duncan,
    With all respect, you should please rethink your interface.  I would never consider writing a Web application with a request that knowingly takes 15 minutes to return the results.  You can consider doing this asynchronously via DBMS_SCHEDULER and then alerting the user (via email, perhaps) that their results are ready.  Or if you can precompute this in advance, consider using materialized views so that the user's response time is sub-second.
    In an era where the patience of the average end-user is measured in single-digit seconds, it is impractical to ever expect an end-user to wait 15 minutes for their resultant Web page.

  • Frm-40208 from running in query mode. cannot change database fields

    Hi,
    Could some one help me with this.
    I am calling a form from another form. I am passing the parameter list to the calling form and doing a query by setting the block property. But when queries the message
    FRM-40208 Form running in query mode. cannot change database fields .
    I do not want the message to appear when they go the called form . Please some one could help me how could I avoid displaying the message.
    Regards
    Bain

    Hi,
    Good day! I am working with a module that also calls another form. It uses call_form with query mode parameter set to query_only. My problem is, whenever i call the other form using the call_form, it would display the called module and then as it populates the detail block of the called form, it will display frm-40208 from running in query mode. cannot change database fields per record. What I want is for the message to be displayed only once.
    I have tried capturing the error by using on-error trigger, but it doesn't go to that whenever the other form was being called. I think the message has to do with the post-query trigger, because it passes some values on a dbase block objects.
    Do you have any suggested solutions or workarounds to make the message display only once whenever the other form is being invoked by the call_form?
    I would greatly appreciate any suggestions/ideas.
    Thanks and regards,
    ASantiago

  • Can sql*forms version 3 run in oracle 8 or higher database

    I support an application developed many years ago with sql forms version 3 - has .inp files for the source code. It is currently running on a 7.3.4 database. My bos has asked why the database cannot be updated to a newer version. It is my understanding theat newer versions of the database do not support the types of triggers used in sql*forms. is this correct?
    thanks

  • Warning message DM10826 when running gendata (text merge area that can shrink/grow on image that cannot grow)

    I am currently converting from Documaker 11.3 to 12.2 While running GENDATA I get the following message:
    DM10826:  Warning in TextMergeParagraph(): Attempting to use a text merge area that can grow, on the image <JACKETPAGE> which cannot grow. Processing will continue.
    I have a text area in the JACKECTPAGE section that has the sizing option of "Can grow and shrink" selected.  This is because I have an imbedded tag in the middle of the text area. The "form section options" for the JACKETPAGE section that contains the text area does not have "Can shrink and grow" selected.  If I change the JACKETPAGE "form section options" to select "can shrink and grow" the warning message goes away.
    Couple questions:
    (1) What are the ramifications of selecting "can shrink and grow" on the form section option?  I really don’t want anything else on the form to move around.
    (2) If there are no ramifications of selecting this option on the "form section options" there an easy way to find every section that has a text area that is flagged as "can shrink and grow" so that I can proactively flag the associated form(s) in order to eliminate these messages?
    Thanks for whatever help that you can give on this!

    The message is actually an old one, so I would be surprised if you are just now getting the message moving from 11.3 to 12.2. Unless it is perhaps because you were previously not using Studio model MRL and now you are.
    The message indicates that a growing text area could potentially push objects out of the section boundary or even exceed the boundary itself - assuming you mapped in enough data. It is simply a warning.
    If you know that your content can't really grow beyond your section or if you know and expect the result in case it does, then just ignore. Or if you know there is sufficient room for the content to grow within the section without overflowing the boundary (because you have white space at the bottom), then you could set the Can Grow on the section and prevent the message. Your choice really depends upon what you prefer.
    However, if the growing text area can indeed push objects (or itself) outside the boundary with the data you map, then setting the Can Grow on the section will affect your output.When a section grows in size, this adjusts the position of the remaining sections on the page. If you don't allow that, you could have overlapping content if the text area pushed something outside the boundary of a section.
    As for whether there is a way to globally set existing sections to grow, I don't think there is. The version you have now will automatically try to set the section to can grow when editing a section and you add a dynamic text area. However, you can still turn that off if you don't want it on. That does not affect existing forms or sections which you have in the library until you were to edit the sections and modify a text area.

  • WIP database central time and local time questions

    Hi,
    I have mission to develop some reports which has to point to the WIP database, as far as I know, the WIP data time is stored as the central timestamp, but our usr is accepted only with local time. As we have several sties in US with different timezone, so it is a little confusing to me how to make my report be able to recongize the correct local time simply.
    In SAP ME internal report, I search some SFC information, it always can display the correct local date time, I am interested to know how SAPME works like thi, if possible, can anyone share this method to me? or give me some good idea how I can handle this?
    Thanks a lot and best regards,
    Leon Lu

    Hi,
    In most cases ME grabs timezone associated with site (Site Maintenance). Some reports though might use client's locale from browser to make conversion.
    Thanks,
    Bakhtiyar

  • Wfsdupld fails when run against 8.1.7 database on 64 bit Sun SPARC Solaris 8

    Attempting to run in the seed data.
    Platform is 64 bit Solaris v8
    Database is 8.1.7.0
    Workflow 2.6
    Everything is fine until we run the wfsdupld script. The script
    fails with
    ORA-29516 Aurora Assertion Failed: Assertion failure at
    joncomp.c:127
    jtc_active_clint_ncomp_slots (oracle/xml/parser/v2/DTD, 0)

    ORA-6512 at OWF_MGR.WF_EVENT_SYNCHRONIZE_PKG line 373
    Any ideas?

    I raised this as a TAR #1838186.995 and received the following
    workaround which does seem to have worked on 8.1.7.0 >>
    I have taken a look at bug 2034596 which suggests a problem with
    the 8.1.7.0 database. However, by upgrading the database to
    8.1.7.2 the error was replaced by a nullpointerexception.
    As a possible workaround it may be worth trying the following
    (on a 8.1.7.0 database):
    $ svrmgrl
    SVRMGR>connect internal
    SVRMGR>alter system flush shared_pool;
    SVRMGR>alter system flush shared_pool;
    SVRMGR>alter system flush shared_pool;
    SVRMGR>alter java class "java/io/Serializable" check;
    SVRMGR>alter system flush shared_pool;
    SVRMGR>alter system flush shared_pool;
    SVRMGR>alter system flush shared_pool;
    SVRMGR>shutdown immediate;
    SVRMGR> startup
