Safari & other Browsers Redirecting Certain Web pages...!

Safari, Camino, Opera, and Mozilla are all redirecting certain webpages to another that just times out. This does not happen on my windows PC though.
I am going to list what i have done so far.
Reset Router.
Reset Cable Modem.
Plugged directly into router.
Reset Safari.
Cleaned Caches.
Cleaned History.
Disabled firewall on laptop and on router.
Turned off pop up blocker.
Deleted Cookies.
Turned off all settings like stealth and logging and such in internet settings under preferences.
I also verified and repaired all permissions under Disk utility.
I have gone through the tech support of the people that own the site and they say it is not them. i have gone though the tech support of my isp and they say it is not them. so i have narrowed the issue down to the mac and some setting or issue somewhere. something had to have been done somewhere that caused the issue. Also there is another user on the mac and on thier side the same thing happens.
I have recently done a format reload on both pc's but the problem still continues on the mac. A while ago this was not happening. When i do a format reload i bring over all of my files and setting from my mac via .mac backup utility. I am currently thinking of doing a format reload to a clean install without any updates and just building from there. this is the only thing that i can think that will work, because it was working before and i am not 100% sure when it stopped. i do believe though that whatever the issue that was there prior to the format reload must be stuck in some setting somewhere because it just came right back after the format reload. I have done almost anything that i have seen or read for anything close to this issue and i am really at a loss. all i can think of is that the issue started when something changed. it was saved somehow and when i did a backup of setting and such then did a reload and uploaded the settings, the issue came right with it. the website says they do not support mac, but thier site worked prior to any issue on my mac. so i am at my last straw trying to find out the issue. please help me...

I've had this happen on certain multimedia pages that require the user to run Windows and Internet Explorer (even Firefox on a Windows machine won't open the pages). This could be the case here, but without having specific URLs it's only a guess on my part.

  • Safari won't open certain web pages

    Hi,
I can't get Safari to open certain web pages. This has only been the case for the last week or so, I could happily view them before.
    2 examples are : www.facebook.com and www.quaysws.co.uk
can anybody please help, it just seems a bit weird...

I just got this link, http://www.quaysws.co.uk/flash/page1.php,
to open in both Safari and Firefox. Mind you at the same time, I cannot get Apple.com to open in Safari I'm running Leopard with Safari 3.0.4. Whoa Safari just decided that Apple.com does exist and opened it without me first having to restart the computer. Safari definitely has some bugs but you may want to make sure that you don't have any 3rd party add-ons set up and you may have to reinstall.

  • Safari is not opening certain web pages

Why isn't Safari opening certain web pages?

If you are using any non-Apple "anti-virus" software, uninstall it according to its instructions and do not reinstall it.
There are a variety of other potential reasons for that message. First try restarting your Mac in "Safe Mode" (see below). Attempt to load the same webpage again. If that works it will reduce the number of potential causes.
Determine if the problems also occur in "Safe Mode":
Safe Mode or "Safe Boot" is a troubleshooting mode that bypasses all third party system extensions and loads only required system components. Read about it: Starting up in Safe Mode
You must disable FileVault before you can start your Mac in Safe Mode.
Starting your Mac in Safe Mode will take longer than usual, graphics will not render smoothly, audio is disabled on some Macs, and some programs (iTunes for example) may not work at all.
Merely starting your Mac in Safe Mode is not intended to resolve the problem, it's to observe its performance without certain additional components.
To end Safe Mode restart your Mac normally. Shutdown will take longer as well.

  • Safari Slow to Load Certain Web Pages

Has anyone found a fix for the web pages that get "stuck"

This has been an ongoing problem in Safari v2.0x with OS X v10.4. However, I would describe this as "Safari stalls when loading Web pages." It seems like it may happen on certain pages, but it has been my experience that this can happen on any Web page at any give time: In fact, it just happened when I tried to load the Safari Discussions forum page!
    - Safari attempts to load a Web page
    - Progress bar in address field stalls at mid-point or later
    - Web page never finishes loading but sometimes, if you're patient, it takes a minute or more to load, but eventually finishes
    - More often, cancelling the page load (Command/Period) and then immediately hitting Command/R (or selecting Reload Page from the View menu) usually loads the page immediately!
Once, I thought it might be favicons, but I had just reset that folder to Read Only. Also, I just used Font Book to Resolve Duplicate Fonts before seeing it happen again. This is pretty frustrating, and never seems to get better.

  • Safari can't open certain web pages?

There are certain webpages, such as my credit report AMEX site that will open up in Windows and not on a MAC (using Safari, or Firefox). When I click on a button nothing happens or I get a blank page.

Sometimes, but rarely, developers use ActiveX, which only works with Internet Explorer. The Real Estate Site referenced by the other poster is one example. However, some developers only test a site using certain browsers, and then lock out all other browsers even if they would otherwise work. One way to test to see if developers are just locking out certain browsers as opposed to using Active X, is to tell Safari to identify itself to websites as Explorer. To do that go to the Debug Menu, select user agent, and then select MSIE 6.
Another thing to check is to see if you have the block pop ups feature enabled in Safari. Some sites do not work properly with that feature enabled. I would test the Site for you, but I do not have an account there.

  • Safari won't open certain web pages and download/stream speed slow

I have recently been experiencing problems with viewing certain websites, content on websites, streaming video, and downloading files. Sometimes the website will load but all the images will be blue question marks. I cannot get anything to load on youtube. Streaming video on Netflix is really slow as well. My bandwidth allowance on my network is 3 mbps (I'm the only user) and I have been getting between 40-300 kbps when downloading things. I have restarted Safari, my computer, and still no change. Any idea on what's going on? Thanks!

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities.
You're not alone. Others, especially with early MacBooks, have reported slower Safari performance after updating to OS X 10.6.8. and Safari 5.1
Using any popular search engine with the terms "mac os x 10.6.8 slow internet" will reveal dozens of similar complaints.
I did too with my mid-2007 MacBook, similar to yours, except I have 4GB RAM (3 GB usable). After a few days of 'spinning beachball' I restored my system to OS X 10.6.7 and internet performance returned to what I remembered.

  • Safari only partially loads certain web pages. The menu bar on a page is completely missing so I can't access any of the site

where that white bar is above the login should be a menu bar. It never loads and I cannot access a number of pages on the site. Is there anyway to correct this?

    Hello Siobhan86,
It looks like your iPad is not loading this webpage correctly all of a sudden. I would start by quitting Safari:
iOS: Force an app to close
    Double-click the Home button.
Swipe left or right until you have located the app you wish to close.
Swipe the app up to close it.
When you have done that restart the device and test the issue again:
iOS: Turning off and on (restarting) and resetting
If the issue persists, I would next clear the website data for Safari in Settings:
Safari settings - iPad User Guide
Go to Settings > Safari, where you can:
Clear your history, cookies, and data
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
    Take care,

  • Safari 6 Won't Load Certain Web Pages

I have installed Mountain Lion on two machines. One is working great. But, on the other, there are certain web pages that won't load in Safari 6.
    Facebook

I've reset Safari and cleaned up cache using OnyX. Has anyone else experienced this? Any advice would be appreciated.
    Thanks, Greg

I'm thinking it may be a DNS issue. I cleared my DNS cache using OnyX and my problem went away. OnyX is a free utility and is very useful. You can get it here:
    http://www.titanium.free.fr/download.php?sid=b94ceb83c26f4f935b661c52a5f8bff1
Ever since I did that, I haven't had any other issues. Good luck!

  • Safari-Certain Web pages won't load

As of 2/25/06 I am having problems in loading certain web pages from Safari, Fox fire or even Netscape. I am able to load Google but not Yahoo. I can't load any site connected to www.tamu.edu. Some sites I have used often and some are new. My internet provider is stumped. I have dumped caches and reset Safari but that did not help. Most sites are loading but a select few will not. On Safari I will get the message "Connection has timmed out" or "Server stopped responding." Any suggestions? Thanks
    JDKW

this may or may not help, depends on how you connect to the internet.
I've been having problems with safari not loading some pages and being slow for a couple of days.
so i tried the other browsers and got the same, couldn't connect to the itunes store either.
I connect using a router with a couple of mac's networked, I've being driving myself insane trying to gte things sorted, finally I reset the router, everything is now working.

  • When I load Safari on my IPAD2, the web page comes up, but I can't scroll down the page. No matter what web page I go to the content stays darker than the navigation bar. This just started today. All other applications work fine.

When I bring up Safari on my IPAD2, the web page comes up, but I can't scroll down the page. This just started today. No matter what web site I go to, the content is darker than the navigation pane.

If it's happening on all sites, then assuming that it's Safari that you're using, have you tried clearing it's cache : Settings > Safari > Clear Cache (other browsers should have similar options, possibly within the actual app instead of within Settings). You could also try closing the app completely : from the home screen double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the Safari app (or whichever browser you're using) to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
If that doesn't work then you could try a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.
If it's only happening on a particular site then there may be content on that site that isn't supported on the iPad e.g. flash, java, silverlight

    Emptied the Safari cache lately?
Press Command + Option + E then quit and relaunch Safari to test.
If that doesn't help, try this DNS.
Open System Preferences > Network > Advanced > DNS
    Click + and type:

Click + again and do the same.

  • Certain web pages are stuck in large text in Safari

I've been having this issue since I got my Air last year.  Certain web pages (MSNBC and Google to name a few) are stuck in really large text.  Other web pages are fine.   I've tried resetting th browser, deleting cookies, etc.  But I cannot seem to fix this issue.  Anyone have any ideas?
    Thanks

Sorry.  I poked around furhter and finally found the issue.  The font sizes were too big!  Not sure when I could have done that, but there you go.  This question can be closed down.

  • Why won't Firefox 3.6.17 on Mac load certain web pages but will load others?

I'm using Firefox 3.6.17 on Mac (10.4.11), can anyone explain why I cannot access Yahoo, Google, Cnn, Bing, but can access other sites? Those web pages starts to load, then display (Untitled) in tab with a blank page. I have cleared everything in my cache and cookies and reinstalled Firefox and nothing helps. This problem started a few days ago and previously there was no problem and I didn't make any changes to Firefox. Thanks for the help.

Found a solution to the problem. The permissions for the firefox.app file were not set to admin - read-write. After adding this permission using the get info menu item when right clicking the file name in the applications folder, the tab now automatically opens when clicking on Email link.

  • Windows Server 2008 R2 - Won't load certain web pages - Happens in all browers - Won't do windows updates

This server (Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard with SP1) is used to host thin clients as well as RDP sessions.  One morning the office is fine, they come back from lunch and all of the sudden they can't load certain web pages, such as adobe.com
and pandora.com to name a couple.  This was roughly 3 days ago.
1.)  I have tried machines that are not connected to this server (not thin client or RDP), but are on the same network, they can load up any web page fine with no issues.
2.) On the server I have tried Opera, Chrome, IE and Firefox, all have the same exact problem.
3.) Tried different DNS servers just to be sure, even though it only effects the server and no one else.
Based on these facts I know that it is something wrong with the server, but not tied to a specific brower.  In all browsers when you load up a page in question it just sits there with a blank screen trying to load, it never generates any errors.
The Event Viewer is also clean, no errors.  So with no errors I have had trouble trying to find a starting place for this.  Things I have tried:
1.) ipconfig /flushdns to try and clear out any DNS issues
2.) Changing the DNS servers for the server to 8.8.8.8 and 4.2.2.2
3.) Scanning for Viruses and Malware/Spyware
4.) Checking proxy settings on the server
5.) Updating and then removing Adobe Flash (thought it was tied to flash at first).  Problem persists even with no flash player installed.
6.) Completed a failed update of .net, no effect
7.) Loading up browsers in debug mode to try and find anything in the site code that I could relate between failed sites.  I found nothing I could identify
Of all issues to finally be stumped on this seems like an easy one, but I can't even begin to come up with an idea at this point.
I have tried to lay out all of the facts that I know as plainly as I can.  I am hoping that someone has seen this before as this issue is effecting a number of differnt users and keeping them from doing portions of their job.
Help is most appreciated, thank you!

I was able to figure out a solution.
    CAUSE:
It appears that the Internet isn’t fully up to date and ready to use EDns -- which is enabled on Windows Server 2008 R2 by default. The solution for this is to disable Edns. Note that this isn’t
a problem for most Windows Server 2008 R2 member servers.  It’s only a problem for DNS *servers* that do recursive lookups.  i.e. likely only your domain controller will be affected if that is where your DNS Server role exists.
    SOLUTION:
To disable EDns, you can do it from the command prompt, or by editing the registry.
Create a DWORD called EnableEDNSProbes and set to 0 in HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\DNS\Parameters
Restart the DNS Server service for it to take effect.

  • Help!  Safari won't fully load web pages until I refresh!  Why and any suggestions on how to retify this??

For several months now safari has not been loading web pages properly (not them all, it is a bit random, but maybe every 3rd or 4th page I open?).  The blue loading bar gets to about 1.5 inches from the end and stops.  I can then click on the bar and refresh and it loads no problems but this is highly inconvenient and I can't seem to fix it.
I have reset safari, updated all software, I am on a mac book pro, I have Version 5.1.5 safari.
Would this be an internet problem rather than a software problem?  How would I check.
It's not very convenient when you're doing something important like trying to get tickets for an event and then it jams, and you know you need to refresh but if you refresh you've lost the tickets...
    Any suggestions welcome

    Hi Krisztina ..
Using OpenDNS can help when pages won't load properly.
Use OpenDNS for better speed, more security, includes anti phishing filters, prevents browser redirects, blocks the flashback trojan, and it's free.
Open System Preferences / Preferences then select the Network tab. Click the Advanced tab then click the DNS tab.
    Click +
Enter these addresses exactly as you see them here.
    208.67.222.222
    Click +
    208.67.220.220
    Then click OK.
Apple suggests using OpenDNS here >  Safari 5.0.1 or later: Slow or partial webpage loading, or webpage cannot be found
