SAML: How to make Weblogic 9.1 listen at Assertion Consumer URI?

Hello,
I'm currently struggling to configure SAML authentication with Weblogic 9.1.
I have a reverse-proxy (NevisBox) that will act as Assertion Source. It will use the Browser/POST method to transmit the assertions. The form action URL is http://mysite:myport/myApp/<b>acs</b>.
In my Weblogic configuration, I configured the Federation Services of my server as explained in the "Configuring Single Sign-On with Web Browsers and HTTP clients" chapter of the security-related doc for weblogic: I put /myApp/acs in the Assertion Consumer URI fields.
What must be done to make the weblogic actually <b>listen</b> at these URI's (when I try to access them, I get a 404 error)?
I should be missing something obvious ;-)
Thanks for your help
Antoine

We were also seeing this. The server startup logs showed this:
####<Jun 26, 2007 9:10:37 AM CDT> <Debug> <SecuritySAMLService> <ssmn00dk00107> <wl-d17pra-admin> <[ACTIVE] ExecuteThread: '0' for queue: 'weblogic.kernel.Default (self-tuning)'> <<WLS Kernel>> <> <> <1182867037562> <000000> <SAMLServerConfig.isApplicationConfigured(): Application 'samlacs' should deploy but .war file copy failed>
Granting write access to the saml*.war files and the parent folder (lib) eliminated these error messages. At server startup we saw this instead:
####<Jun 26, 2007 12:52:42 PM CDT> <Debug> <SecuritySAMLService> <ssmn00dk00107> <wl-d17pra-admin> <[ACTIVE] ExecuteThread: '0' for queue: 'weblogic.kernel.Default (self-tuning)'> <<WLS Kernel>> <> <> <1182880362058> <000000> <SAMLServletContextListener: Registered SAML service 'samlacs' at URI '/samlacs/acs'>

  • How to make weblogic proxy to work on Sun Java system web server 7?

    Hi Every one,
    I am working on upgrade our Sun one 6.1 webserver to Sun Java system web server 7. Our website uses weblogic server to process jsp, web server only send static pages. I did all configurations as on Sun one. But somehow, the webserver does not forward "get jsp page" request to weblogic. The log record is:
    for host 10.78.124.118 trying to GET /home.jsp, send-file reports: HTTP4142: can't find /www/a/WebServer7/docs/bmd9i/home.jsp (File not found)
    home.jsp is at weblogic server.
    And redirect "NameTrans fn="redirect" from="/" url="/home.jsp"" seems does not work. when I type on IE http://32.69.253.131/ (32.69.253.131 is http listener IP), it always shows index.html page under the document root.
    Could some on can help? I am the first time to configurate web server. Thanks in advance.

    Quick obvious question - Are you positive you're editing the correct obj.conf? Check the config directory and see if there is a second one called something like <instance>.obj.conf (where <instance> is the name of your configured instance).
    Alternatively you can grep for object-file in the server.xml to see which obj.conf the server is using:
    # grep object-file server.xml
        <object-file>bare-php.obj.conf</object-file>Assuming that you are editing the correct obj.conf file, are you making certain to restart Web Server after making your changes?

  • How to make Weblogic 10 share playerPrincipal among intra-domain servers

    Hello,
    We have been struggling with this problem quite a lot. We are currently trying to implement SSO which sharing playerPricipal within intra-domain servers (servers in the same domain).
    User login in one server and another server should know that the user has been logged in or not.
    We are thinking to set up some kind of "trust" between servers inside domain but do not know how to configure it.
    Does anyone have any idea how to set up WebLogic 10 so that playerPrincipal can be shared between servers? Many many thanks for the experts :).
    Br,
    Linda
    P.S: we are avoiding to use cluster because it might caused a lot of work for us :)

    Thank for your answer James.Bayer :)
    We have quite severals applications are running in server 1. Using cluster is mean that all other applications in server 1 should change their configuration. And what cluster provides are too much more than our requirements. What we want is only sharing Principal between 2 servers in the same domain.
    All of the links which I have searched are about sharing Principal within 2 servers in 2 separate domains. No link about sharing Principal between 2 servers in the same domain. My wondering is that: does servers in same domain share Principal by default? But we have configured applications either the servers wrongly hence it can not see other's Principal.
    Could you please answer me with this question. And all answers of other people are very much welcome. I thank you very much for all of your kindness in answering my question .)

  • How to make the App Server Listen for HTTPS

    I have a web application that needs to be accesible over an HTTPS connection, not HTTP.
    When I deploy an application with Java Studio Creator to the App Server it is automatically set to an HTTP URL. How do I setup HTTPS ?
    Thank you in advance,
    Joe Paladin

    Looks like I should have thanked myself in advance....
    Turns out its pretty easy. Open the admin console, go to configuration, add and HTTP listener, check the security check box, and fill out the other mandatory fields like the port. Standard SSL port is 443.
    Save changes, and restart the App Server. Any deployed apps should be reachable via https://localhost:443/myWebApp
    This approach uses a default certificate that comes with the app server. Here is a link if you want to create a certificate :

  • How can I make a book/podcast listening playlist for a blind person?

    How can I make a book/podcast listening playlist for a blind person? How can lots of content be loaded, so that no navigation is required, for hundreds of hours of enjoyment?
    I wanted to create a single playlist with hundreds of hours of books and podcasts for my grandmother who is blind. Then I planned to use something like the app CarTunes which basically makes the touch screen simply a gigantic pause/play button for an already created playlist.  This is perfect for a blind person. The problem: Apple no longer allows you to have a playlist with Audible Books and Podcasts. I have tried; but the podcasts and books are stripped from the playlist. It seems like all podcast and book players require navigation. (How aggravating!?)
    Any help in creating hundreds of hours long spoken (selected between books and podcasts) audio content playlist for a blind person would be much appreciated!!!!

    Well, good news and bad news. I found out how to tell iTunes that all my music videos are, in fact, actual "music videos" and categorize them as such. In the "Get Info" screen for a track, there is a dropdown selector where you can pick the "meta" type, such as "Music Video", "Home Video", "Movie", "TV Show", etc. This allows iTunes and iOS to think they are all music videos and play them in the same list.
    Unfortunately, this is not compatable with my third party device, which is now refusing to play my music videos in a playlist and will only play them one at a time (in a single-track infinite loop no less). Very frustrating!

  • How to start Weblogic 10.3.5 managed server on port 80

    Hello,
    We're trying to understand how to start Weblogic as root so we can start on port 80 on Linux. We understand that we'll use the post bind UID to run as a non-priv user. Right now in the Admin console under the managed server, Server Start properties (node manager) we have the weblogic user as the user to start the server, which works. Is this where we'd put the root user? We tried that but it fails complaining about root user didn't have permission to start the server. Can someone shed some light?
    Thanks

    Hi
    1. You are asking for 2 things here:
    a) Start Weblogic as root user ?
    Before I answer this question, who (Which User) installed Weblogic Software and who created Domain. I hope its NOT root user. Usually its not preferable to use root account for this. Instead create a new user account like for example oracle or some xyz. Then login with that account. Install Weblogic and create any Domain. I would NOT prefer/recommend using root account to install weblogic. This means, I would not recommend/support to start weblogic as root user. The thing is when you install weblogic, it stores/creates lots of files/scripts. Now when you start, it has to be same user. Because at the startup, we need to read files and also CREATE lots of temp files under domain root folder. So on unix, this becomes very complex. Simple answer is if you install weblogic and domain with user say "xyz" and try to start domain with "root", you corrupted your entire domain. Some files gets changed to root user and some files just FAIL saying you do not have permissions. So its just gone. If you are a Unix Geek, do some magic and restore all permissions back.
    b) Start Weblogic at Port 80
    Very Simple. Forget about above thing. Install Weblogic and create domain say with user "xyz". Just go to domain root folder, open config/config.xml file and edit the localport to 80. By default at time of domain creation if you used all the defaults like port 7001, then you will NOT see this entry in config.xml file. But still you can edit config.xml file manually. Stop the servers. Add a section with listen-port as 80. Just refer docs for the steps. After this change, your weblogic server is now running at port 80. NOW, the main precautions is make sure that you do NOT have any other stuff running at the same port 80. Otherwise, Weblogic server startup will fail saying port 80 is already is in use.
    Now if you want both a) and b), still it is possible. But I would NOT want/recommend a), which is use "root" account to install weblogic server and create and start the Domain. Nope, totally not recommending and supporting this. Yes, port 80 can be used, but not the "root" account.
    Thanks

  • How to configure multiple listeners to listen for the same instance.

    Hello everyone,
    I am running oracle database 11g and I want information regarding how to configure multiple listeners to listen for the same database instance. Actually I know how to configure more than one listener but the main thing that I am confused about is when we create listener.ora file, do we have to statically register the database instance with both the listeners or the instance will register itself with both the listeners.
    According to my knowledge the instance will register with the listener specified by LOCAL_LISTENER parameter and we cannot have more than one value for this parameter.
    Please only give detailed answers with example as I am tired of simple answers with details that I already know.

    Hello,
    Yes, it can make sense to have several listener for one Oracle instance. For instance you may have one listener for the applications another listener for DBA administration tasks as well as one listener dedicated to dataguard broker. It is not possible to have several listeners listening on the same IP and Port.
    By default the database try to automatically register to a listener on port 1521. To instruct the instance to register to a specifc list of listeners you can add in the init.ora the local_listener parameter with an alias definition:
    i.e
    local_listener=MY_SET_OFF_LISTENERS
    in your tnsname.ora add an entry called:
    MY_SET_OFF_LISTENERS_LOCAL= (ADDRESS_LIST=
    (ADRESS=(PROTOCOL=TCP)(HOST=myhostname)(PORT=1530))
    (ADRESS=(PROTOCOL=TCP)(HOST=myhostname)(PORT=1531))
    (ADRESS=(PROTOCOL=TCP)(HOST=myhostname)(PORT=1532))
    In this sample your instance will register to three listeners listening on respectively port 1530, 1531 and 1532
    If you want your clients can be balanced over the 3 listeners

  • How to make a tcp server in loop

    Hello everybody!
    I just want to know how to make a server keeping turning even when the client has deconnected.
    My work is based on examples TCP Communicator - Active.vi and TCP Communicator - Passive.vi.
    The problem with these VIs is that when the client deconnects, the server doesn't work any longer, and I want the server to be able to listen for other clients (one client in the same time).
    How can I modify them to apply my will? If you have some examples it will be perfect!!
    Thank you!
    SebGAM

    You could probably get away with putting a big While loop around the server code, but there is always the greatest TCP server example I have ever seen. It lives over at OpenG, the Open Source LabVIEW community. You can download and use it for free. There's even decent documentation right there online.
    EXAMPLE - TCP Server at OpenG
    Beware, the code is not easily understood by the novice LabVIEW programmer. All you need to know is that you should only modify the VI called "TCP Server Example.vi" and "TCP Server Example Connection Handler VI.vi".

  • How to make IIS plug-in do STICKY load balancing

    There are two classes of scalable services: pure and sticky. A pure service
    is one where any instance of the application can respond to client requests.
    A sticky service is one where a client sends its requests to the same
    instance; those requests are not redirected to other instances.
    It seems to me that weblogic IIS proxy plug-in does not support the sticky

    I set the cluster.
    It seems to me that there is some problem with the Set-Cookie mechanism of
    the plug-in.
    Sometime it set the cookie in my browser, sometime it is not.

    I do believe that this will not work since if clustering is not enabled, a
    cookie will not be set on the browser that contains the primary and
    secondary server.
    You are specifying two different ports in your servers. You need to use
    clustering in order to get this functionality with the plugin.Furthermore,
    you will achieve fail-over.

    <session-descriptor>
    <session-param>
    <param-name> CookieDomain </param-name>
    <param-value> *.ariba.com </param-value>

    <param-value> AribaNode </param-value>

    <param-name> CookiePath </param-name>
    <param-value> /test1 </param-value>
    </session-param>
    </session-descriptor>
    </weblogic-web-app>
    I add the following in iisproxy.ini
    # This file contains initialization name/value pairs
    # for the IIS/WebLogic plug-in.
    WebLogicCluster=ltang.ariba.com:8001,achu.ariba.com:7001

    ConnectRetrySecs=2
    Debug=ALL
    WLLogFile=c:\tmp\wlproxy.log

    I use SesssionServlet.java as an example
    When I involk http://proxy/test1/SessionServlet, I always get 1
    if I use
    http://proxy/test1/SessionServlet:AribaNode=................................
    I could see the session becomes sticky.
    If I do not want to use URL rewriting, what should I do in order to makethe
    session STICKY
    for this example.

    If you leave the CookieName untouched on the WebLogic side, then there
    should be no reason to make the change in the plug-in.
    But yes, you need to make sure the cookie names are the same.

    Actually, you also need to make sure you set the "CookieName" in theplugin.
    That let's the plugin read the cookie set by WebLogic to determine
    who
    the
    primary and secondary servers are for that session. Otherwise, theplugin
    has no
    way of knowing if you are establishing a new session or returning to
    an
    existing
    one. The cookie will tell it if you have a current session and who
    it
    should
    send you to for continuing that session, or failing that session
    over.

    Without having clustering enabled, you will not get Sticky load

    You need to have clustering so that a cookie is sent back to the
    client
    that
    contains information about where it's session is located.
    Otherwise,
    you
    are just going to get round-robin each time.
    You can refer to the following page for more information:

  • How to make all Button component instances trigger rollOver sound?

    Hello all--
    I am using the Button component (the one shipped with CS3) in
    many places in my AS3 project. I am coding in .as files, not on the
    timeline.
    I have skinned the Button to use the colors I like. Now I
    wish to "skin" it so that all instances generate a rollOver sound,
    and I'll be darned if I can figure out how.
    I know I can listen for ROLL_OVER events in each Button
    instance. But I have many many Buttons and it seems kludgy to add
    that same code to every class I have which tracks a Button. I am
    hoping there is some way I can make *all* instances of Button
    respond to rollOver the same way. I am hoping it is like
    setComponentStyle or changing the skin for the Button; I can do it
    in one place and it works everywhere.
    I guess I can listen on the Stage level for bubble-ups of
    ROLL_OVER, trap those that come from Button instances, and handle
    it from there, but stagewide listeners also seem a tad kludgy.
    Is there some elegant way to make all my Buttons
    automagically generate the same rollOver sound?
    Many thanks,
    Matthew Ford

    It's regrettable there is no reply. But in case someone comes
    across this topic, FYI I put on my main View class (to which all
    other views and GUI are childed) an
    addEventListener(MouseEvent.MOUSE_OVER...). The MOUSE_OVER events
    bubble up to that.
    Then in the listener function I see if the event.target is
    Button. If it is, I trigger the sound.
    Curiously, the supposedly better ROLL_OVER event did not
    bubble up predictably. Sometimes it did and sometimes it did not.
    But the docs say that event is not supposed to bubble for some
    reason.
    I still think there is a better way and I'd like to hear it.
    Maybe I just need to make my own clone and adaptation of the
    Button, but I am not experienced yet with creating components
    (SWCs) and it appears that simply overriding the Button class with
    my own .as file does not work-- the rollOver functions report
    errors that they cannot be overridden.

  • How to make hyperlinks in JTextField/JtextArea  ??

    My JTextField/JtextArea has got this Text.
    String text = "Get information from http://www.hotmail.com, if you have problems go to http://www.google.com " ;
    How to make hyperlinks for http://www.hotmail.com and http://www.google.com texts only???
    And how to call those sites???

    Add a mouse listener, when the user double clicks - see if they've clicked on text that is a valid link.
    The limitation of using textfield or textarea is that you get no styling. I dont know why you're refusing those suggestions, but you're just creating more work for yourself.
