Samsung Gusto 2 Battery Charge Alert

How do I turn off the battery charge alert sound on the Samsung Gusto 2?  Like most folks, I charge the phone overnight and when it is fully charged, the alert sound wakes me.  I have to have the phone near me with sounds on so turning off all sounds is not an option for me nor should it have to be.  I found directions for the original Gusto but the Gusto 2 doesn't seem to have any way to turn it off.  That's insane - am I guaranteed no complete night's sleep as long as I own this phone?
Thanks in advance.

    Sorry about that Darth_Emma!
Let's try this instead: http://vz.to/12H0D4f specifically for the Gusto 2.

  • Samsung Gusto 2 turns itself off

My Samsung Gusto 2 that I got from Verizon Wireless in April is randomly turning itself off. This is getting increasingly frequent, and over the past weekend it must have happened 20 times. The battery appears fine, it is fully charged, and nothing bad has happened to the phone. What are my options?

Thanks for sharing your equipment concerns with the community wrtiii. We know how important it is to stay connected, especially while on the go. May I ask did you try the suggestion that SuzyQ provided? Thanks SuzyQ. If you have and the issue persist then may I ask are you using the original battery with the device? Can I assume that there isn't any physical or liquid damage on the device? If everything is in order then please send me a private message with your full name, mobile number, and a 2-3 sentence summary of the issue so we can explore options.

  • Why is my Samsung Gusto vibrating when powered down?

I bought a used Samsung Gusto (SCH-U365) and it turns on just fine.  However, when you power it down, it vibrates softly and consistently.  I'm assuming that it would drain the battery if left powered down.  When the phone is powered on, there is no vibration issue.  Any ideas?

Just a thought - do you have a sound set for when the phone powers on or off?
Power - Control whether your phone plays sounds when you turn the
    phone on or off.
    1. From the Home screen, press the Left Soft Key
    Menu ➔ Settings ➔ Sounds ➔ Power.
    2. Choose Power On or Power Off to control the sounds.
Does the vibration continue if the phone is plugged in and charging?  Or does that not make a difference?  The vibration stops when you remove the battery, correct?  Does it happen if the phone is using house current (plugged in, no battery)?
I'm puzzled what would cause this...so the questions are to try and narrow down when it happens, so we can maybe figure out WHY it happens!

  • How to turn off charge alert?

Since I have loaded GDR2 & 3 the charging alert sounds in the middle of the night waking my wife and me. When I place the phone on the wireless charger the charging alert sounds as it always has but what is new is that the alert will sound again sometime
later. It seams that the phone charges then when the phones battery runs down to a certain level the charger kicks in again and the alert goes off again. How can I turn off that alert? I use my phone as my morning alarm so I want to keep the volume up and
if I put it on vibrate the noise of the vibration wakes me up. As you can imagine I am beginning to hate my phone for waking me up in the middle of the night.

Thanks for the reply, I have found other posts on other forums that explain this issue similarly to the way you did. The phone charges then looses some of the charge over night then starts to charge again and when it stars to charge it sounds that alert.
I don't think it is unreasonable for the battery to run down a little overnight. My battery life is really good especially since gdr2 and gdr3. But I think it is important to point out that this alert issue began with gdr2 or gdr3 or the Nokia firmware, it
is hard to say which since they were all loaded just a few days apart. For what it is worth another issue I noticed following the upgrade is that the phone is much more sensitive to the placement of the phone on the wireless charger. If you don't get it on
there just right it repeatedly sounds the charging alert. Again this is new behavior following the updates. I am hoping that the black update will correct the issue. BTW. My wife has a newer 920 and hers does the same thing following the updates, which leads
me to believe that it was the updates that started the problem. Thanks for your help.

  • Samsung Gusto randomly turns off

I just bought a Samsung Gusto a couple weeks ago and it's randomly turning off by itself.  I can't figure out any pattern...sometimes when i get it out or open it to see if i've gotten any messages it's turned off.  This is really causing problems as I'm missing some important calls and messages - it's been very unreliable and it's driving me crazy.  Has anyone else had this problem? If i go into a verizon store will they give me a replacement or are they all having this problem? Thanks.

    @Lbow87
Wow! No the Gusto shouldn't be shutting off like you described. I can't imagine how frustrating that situation would be for you. We definitely want to get this corrected immediately.
I've contacted Samsung and this is not a known issue with the Gusto. Is there any physical or water damage to the device? Please remove the battery and see is there any corrosion or buildup where the battery connects to the phone. Is the battery loose in the back compartment?
Please let me know so we can get this resolved promptly.
    Thank you

  • 3gs reboots after 4mins on calls and shows battery dead then shows battery charged on restart any 1 have a fix please

3gs reboots after 4mins on calls and shows battery dead then shows battery charged on restart any 1 have a fix please

Thought it had worked but soon found out it had not.
after further days of trying finally, solved it for me Yesterday.
turned off notifications when locked, and bingo, wow.
i have not turned off iCloud but location services are also off.
best thing to do I found was keep checking your usage, settings, general, usage, and flip down to bottom, if the standby and usage are similar there is a problem, if there is a big difference then all is ok. Just keep turning things off and on until the difference is very apparent.
something on my phone was keeping the phone alive even when turned off, and I think this was the phone repeatedly trying to update continually.
to me this is definitely down to the iOS, my wife has exactly same phone and iOS but hers doesn't have any problem and the battery lasts for days.
the guy at the Genius Bar told me to restore the phone via iTunes, not iCloud. This is because iCloud remembers the exact info from your phone and simply reinstates it when you restore, and this includes the iOS too.
when I get home from holidays that's what I'll do, or wait for iOS 8 in few weeks. But I'm so pleased I finally made it work, I was beginning to think ditch the phone and buy Samsung.
anyway anyone out there please try my final solution and let me know if it works for you?

  • Lenovo Vibe Z2 Pro (K920) battery charging time

    Hello everyone,
I wonder, if anyone could help me, please.
I'm experiencing an interesting issue related to battery charging procedure of brand-new Lenovo Vibe Z2 Pro (K920).
The thing is, the first two battery charging procedures took about let say 2 hours 40 minutes both.
But the third battery charging procedure took about 3 hours and 10 minutes exactly!, which I consider to be rather strange, mostly because of web reviews of this smartphone, where 2 hours and 30 minutes typical charging time is described.
I understand the fact that brand-new battery has to be initially "formatted" and it's capacity is therefore gradually increasing after few battery charging attempts.
Needles to say, after that third battery charging procedure, the battery life has been also significantly improved. I use genuine Lenovo charger which comes with the phone in the box. The only thing, which I changed since first two battery charging procedures, was turning ON "Core efficiency" in the Lenovo Battery Manager.
Could it be the reason of such extended battery charging time or is it perfectly normal bacause of gradually improving capacity for brand-new battery? Could it be defective battery? Has anyone of the owners the same experience or what is yours typical battery charging time using in-box charger?
Thanks in advance for any advice, suggestion, explanation.
    Martin

  • Samsung Convoy 3 battery

Bought this phone just a month ago. Battery worked fine for first 3 weeks, only needed to charge it once a week. This last week Ive had to suddenly charge every 2 days.
Went thru the troubleshooting to no avail. Charger is working fine. Battery is seated correctly. I remember a few reviews about this before I bought it.
How do I get another battery from Verizon?

First week or so the battery lasted me for over a week, than all of a sudden it lasted 2 days as well.  Than took out the battery, placed it back in, and made sure all the settings were to my liking, and now the battery once again is lasting well over a week for my use.  Go figure.
Bought a replacement Samsung Convoy 3 battery, so I thought, that said it would be a 1350mAh, but I got from the seller a 1550mAh instead (Amazon).  Unknown if it was mislabeled, and really meant 1350 and not 1550, but I tried it out for a few seconds, and it worked.  I  took it out, and emailed the seller to see what is up with this new battery.  Still have not heard from them other to ask me to email the model number (Model # HBA8) of the new battery.

  • HT1476 Battery Charge Fluctuating

I noticed last night that my battery was at 1% even though my phone was on charge.
I attached it to my pc and after about half an hour the phone had picked up charge again and was at 87%.
It was fully charged when I left home this morning and then at work I've noticed it was on 57% so I've put it on charge.  Checked it about half hour later and it was still on 57%.
I've done the whole turn off and on again and now it's gone from 57% to 97% in seconds and just now now gone to 100%.
Is it just the icon, or am I on borrowed time with the battery charging?

    Hey there LizzyBee,
It sounds like the battery indicator is inconsistently reporting the battery charged percentage. In researching troubleshooting for you I found this Featured Discussion that may help your situation out as well:
    My IPad doesn't charge 100%

This solved my question by Philly_Phan  on Jun 21, 2012 4:43 PM
It's probably the battery indicator, not the battery itself.  Run it down until it shuts down automatically.  Ignore any low battery alerts that appear.  Then, charge it overnight with the 10W charger.  That should clear things for you.
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.

  • Samsung Stratosphere extended battery

Verizon currently has the extended battery for the Stratosphere on sale at 50% off ($24.99 instead of $49.99) online and at local Verizon corporate stores (call the store before you go, though). There are informative discussions about it here: http://forums.androidcentral.com/samsung-stratosphere/145059-extended-battery.html and here: http://rootzwiki.com/topic/9064-standard-vs-extended-battery-updated-1262011-920-pm-cst/.
There are pros and cons to this battery. The biggest, pro, of course, would be longer battery life. It's a 3000 mAh battery, compared to the stock 1800 mAh. I only got mine today, and it came with about a 40% charge, so I can't comment on how long it lasts yet personally. The second of the two links above has some discussion on that.
The major con is that it is twice as thick as the stock battery, and of course heavier as well. This means that the stock battery cover will not fit, so Verizon throws in a new, customized back cover when you buy the extended battery. The whole phone thus becomes thicker, which then means that standard-size cases, holsters, dashboard mounts, desktop dock, etc., won't fit either (at least, that is the report that I've seen).
However, when I bought the battery at a Verizon store, I asked about cases (I don't use one now, but I might want to), and they did have one available that was made for the larger form factor with the extended battery. I wonder if maybe more will become available as more people buy the battery.
My findings so far: At this price, I think it's a great, great buy if your use of the phone is such that you need an extended-life battery. It definitely changes the feel of the phone. It adds some weight and bulk; but IMHO this wasn't a light phone to begin with. I think it fits my hand better with the extended battery, but of course that's going to vary from one person to another. I also think it makes the physical keyboard more solid and stable for typing, which is a definite improvement. Unless you're a riverboat gambler type, though, I'd recommend buying at a store rather than online, so you can get the feel of it before you put your money down.
I'll report on battery life experience after I charge it up tonight and use it over the next day or two. Has anyone else tried out this battery?

A follow-up report on battery life with the Samsung Stratosphere extended battery: I charged it to 100% as of about 10:30 p.m. Tuesday. It is now 8:30 a.m. Friday, 58 hours later, and the charge stands at 12%, low enough to get warnings from the phone to charge it, which I'm going to do.
Obviously this includes two overnights when I was not using the phone at all. I don't do any game playing or very much music streaming (and no video streaming during this particular time period). OTOH, I do leave the Bluetooth and GPS turned on all the time, even overnight, just to avoid having to remember turning them on when I go out. I do spend a fair amount of time on Wikipedia and other Web browsing, a newspaper-reading app, and Google maps. The phone requested to go into power-saving mode when the battery reached 20% earlier this morning, but I declined that for the sake of the testing.
Of course everyone's phone use and experience will be different, but 58 hours to go from 100% to 12% seems pretty good to me.
