Already viewed S-note
724713 - parameter settings for Solaris 10 - (Parameters are set as per this note)
743328 - Composite SAP note: ORA-27102 - (no much information in memory problem on zones)
Please provide your suggestions/resolution.
Thankyou.
Hi,
@ Sunny: Thanks for response, the referred note was already checked and parameters are in sync as per note.
@Mohit: SAP wouldn't proceed till create database if Oracle software was not installed. thanks for the response.
@Markus: Thanks I agree with you, but I have doubt in this area. Isn't it like project.max-shm-memory was new parameter we need to set in local zone rather using shmsys:shminfo_shmmax in /etc/system. Do we need to still maintain this parameter in /etc/system in global zone.
As per SUN doc below parameter was obsolete from Solaris 10.
The following parameters are obsolete.
■ shmsys:shminfo_shmmni
■ shmsys:shminfo_shmmax
As per your suggestion, do we need to set below parameters in that case, please clarify.
Parameter Replaced by Resource Control Recommended Value
semsys:seminfo_semmni project.max-sem-ids 100
semsys:seminfo_semmsl process.max-sem-nsems 256
shmsys:shminfo_shmmax project.max-shm-memory 4294967295
shmsys:shminfo_shmmni project.max-shm-ids 100

Ora-27102: out of memory error on Solaris 10 SPARC zone install or Oracle10
All
I'm stuck!! Tried for days now ,and can't get this working.
I"m getting the classic: "ora-27102: out of memory" error. However, my memory settings seem fine.
I'm running Solaris 10 on a Zone, while installing Oracle 10.2.0.1.
I've changed the max-memory to 6Gig's, but still, I get this error message.
Could it be possible that this error message means something else entirely?
Thank you for your assistance!!
AnneHi V
Thanks for the response.
I fixed the problem. Turns out it was because my physical memory for box is 16 gig, but my max-shm-memory was only at 6 GIG. I upped to 8 gig, and everything worked.
I'm sure you were going to tell me to do just that! I found another post that explained it.
Thanks!

Out of Memory Error in Java Agents running in lotus notes
I have a java agent running inside lotus notes jvm. It runs fine for some days but after some days start giving out of memory error and terminates.
I need to restart agent manager in notes to enable java agent running. Is there a way to catch out of memory error so that on its catch i could restart agent manager.
Regards,
SaituDear Peter,
The agent is written in java and
I need to know a way to enter catch block of 'OUTOFMEMORYERROR'.
My whole code is in a try block with two catches, one for outofmemoryerror and another for exception. When outofmemory error occurs control passes to the exception catch and not outofmemoryerror catch.
Since out of memory is an error and not an exception, is there a way to catch it or run some code when out of memory occurs.

Hi,
I'm running a Java app that's been working perfectly for 12 months. I did the latest Java upgrade from Apple and I now have heap space errors. The result of running Java version is as follows:
java version "1.6.0_20"
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_20-b02-279-10M3065)
Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 16.3-b01-279, mixed mode)
The error listing is below. I'd be grateful for any help in setting memory in the .sh file that I use to launch the app or for other ways to resolve this.
A search of this forum yielded no assistance on this.
Regards
Mike

Java Out of memory error when accessing MySQL
Hi all
I've got a weird problem, I programed some code to mirror data between two databases and I was testing it with two different computers each one running MySQL. The first database has 33,000 rows across 40 columns and the second one 380,000 rows across 40 columns. When trying to transfer the data from the small database to the large one everything works fine, after a couple of minutes all 33,000 rows are successfully transfered to the large one.
But then I tried it the other way around, transfer 380,000 rows to the small. This does not run at all it just gives me an error of Out Of Memory and stops. I tried on win2k, winxp and redhat 7.3 same error. Does anyone has any idea why this is happening? All three machines have 512MB RAM.
Is there a limit on the size that a result set can have? I really need to know since this database is gonna grow by aprox. 136,000 rows per hour or 3,264,000 rows per data. That's about 3 GB of data per day which needs to be mirrored across the databases.
Any suggestions would really be apreciatedThanks for the response guys,
The purpose of this program is to mirror the data between two databases. The first one sits on a machine that is monitoring a system through sensors connected via a DSP card. Now the processing of the gathered data is done on the second machine. This mirroring needs to happen every day and as I said on my previous post the amount of data is aprox. 3GB per day or about 1.2m rows per day. I know this is a huge amount of data.
In the program I've written what I do is:
get a connection to both databases on both servers then I create a prepared statement to do the INSERT. Then I get a result set from the first database and in the while loop I update the data to the second one. So only one result set is used. Now I shouild let you know that there's never gonna be any updating of the data only new ones get added.
I am assuming by the error I get that when I get my result set it tries to load it all in memory which I do not want to do for the obvious reasons.
I am including my code
import java.sql.*;
import java.util.*;

What can I do in order to prevent the whole database being loaded in memory?
Additionally I noticed that the above operation stops when memory usage reaches 71.5 MB for the JVM -
Java heap out of memory error with -Xms1g -Xmx4g 64 bit VM
We are getting Java Heap memory error for the application we are running on linux 64 bit machine (VM).
The OOM came when heap usage was 1.7gb though we have specified min as 1gb and max as 4gb. If I understand correctly then it should not have been thrown as we have specified max as 4gb. If address space was the problem then it should have thrown swap space error.
Also, there were no other processes running on this node.
Below are the specifics of linux node we are using:

the OOM error ... wasn't coming when we had set min and max both as 4 GB.You deviously withheld that information.
When the JVM needs to grow the heap it asks the OS for a bigger memory block than the one it has.
The OS may refuse this and the JVM will throw an OOME. -
SAP netweaver java installation sneak preview
I am installing java sneak preview with maxdb database trial version and installation continues forever it's been running more than 24 hours and sapinst log does not give any errors I do not know what to do? Can anyone help me. even i do not see any hard disk consumption more that 2 or 3 GB. I have 150 GB hard drive and 2 GB RAM.
thankshello,
please check your database site. during import, sapinst must create database objects (tables, indexes) and insert rows to these objects. if your installation continues, also you can see detailed info about newly created database objects. if there is a problem related to database, also there must be an entry for error.
there is not a specific duration for installation. it depends on your system resources, especially ram of server.
but, you are right, your installations' duration is very long. -
Out of memory error when calling a java stored procedure multiple times
Trying to run a PL/SQL loop calling a java stored procedure, I get the following error:
"ORA-04030: out of process memory when trying to allocate 262188 byte callheap,ioc_allocate free)"
(with some other error lines).
The stored procedure does two major things:
1) Open a socket to communicate with a server, of which it queries some data.
2) Use JDBC (with the default DB connection it has, as a stored procedure) to write the results to a table.
All socket connections, statements, etc. are properly closed and all memory should be garbage collected between each call.
Can anyone offer an explanation or additional checks to make? I'm quite sure the code isn't causing the problem, since I've tried running it as a stand alone application (outside of Oracle) and didn't have any problems.
Thanks.Hi,
Verify that the database parameters are set correctly.

Java out of memory error/ unable to create VM
As you can imagine I have been trying to fix this on my own.
I have changed the Java heap size by changing the JVM Settings in the Application Server to
-Xms128m -Xmx528m
However, my domain.XML file is still showing the following options:
jvm-options>-Dcom.sun.enterprise.taglibs=appserv-jstl.jar,jsf-impl.jar</jvm-options>
<jvm-options>-Dcom.sun.enterprise.taglisteners=jsf-impl.jar</jvm-options>
<jvm-options>-XX:NewRatio=2</jvm-options>
<jvm-options>-Xmx1g</jvm-options>
<jvm-options>-XX:MaxPermSize=1g</jvm-options>
</java-config>
The only place that this (1g) jvm-options is showing is in the domain.XML read only file.
Can anyone please tell me how to change domain.XML since that 1g goof-up is causing runtime errors. It can probably be done programatically, but I am almost brain dead from this problem now - so you can imagine my state of mind.
Thanks in advance!
Windows Vista environmentHi There,
Are you still having this isse? Have you tried the latest version - Netbeans 6, you can get it from www.netbeans.org.
Thanks

The Mac OS is 10.9.5.
I've already gone into plug ins and Scratch disk preferences and changed the secondary location to the user's hard drive, but this does not solve the problem.
I cannot change the "primary " from Startup, but I did change the secondary to the user's ID instead of None.
These are all brand new Macs in use no more than two weeks.Windows 7 includes DirectX 11 in its baseline and it is not necessary to install another version of it. Your problems may be caused by the installation of the version of DirectX you installed. Uninstall the one you installed and see if you
still have the errors.

Solaris 10 Zones: Out of Memory
I have struggled with installing Oracle 11.2 in a guest zone on Solaris 10 (SPARC).
