SAP JAVA Application Server Install / Label wrong

Hello,
I need to install Java Application Server (at least some Components) because we need to run the Adobe Document Services and it runs only on JAVA App Server. We have till now only ABAP Stack Server.
I try to install it with SWPM: SAP EHP1 for NW7.3-->MaxDB-->SAP Systems-->App Server JAVA-->Standard System
and I get the follwing error when checking Software: Found the label J2EE-CD: 703 but you need label SAP:UT:731.
Please advise.
Regards
Mike

Hi Michael,
In the CD media 51043228 JAVA, whitch it is composed by 5 CDs.
Try in the folder Java Component NW731\DATA_UNITS\JAVA_J2EE_OSINDEP_UT where there is LABEL.ASC file with label SAP:UT:731:SP01:*:*
Hope it helps.
Best regards,
Martina

  • How to check if a user session is active in Java application server

    Hi Experts,
We have a online scenario with a third party system by which a portal user will launch the third party application in a new window from portal. The SSO will work at the third party web application with the dynamic key that is generated by calling a webservice for that user. Now, as the user works on the launched screen, they will have to check whether the user (logged in portal) session is still active. ie., they will be periodically calling a service hosted by SAP java application server to find out whether the corresponding user who launched the session is still logged in or logged out.
So, my question is, how can i find out programatically whether a user/user's session is still logged in/active in SAP Netweaver Java AS? We are in version 7.3.
Kindly help me in this regard.

    Hi,
If oyu are comfortable with Linux, you may download a combined Java+ABAP Stack version of 7.0 (2004s) here:
[SAP NetWeaver 7.0 (2004s) - Trial Version on Linux |https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/downloads?rid=/library/uuid/60d6c8b7-5d8f-2910-31bf-ebdf74fefd8b]

  • Business Object on SAP Web Application server.

    Experts,
Can Business Objects be installed on SAP Web Application Server?
    Any Help is appreciated.
    Thanks
    Yashu Raj

    Matt,
    Thanks for your input.
I found this information on SDN
Can Business Object Enterprise Web Tier be deployed on SAP NetWeaver system with usage type AS Java?"Yes, this is supported for Java 1.4 (NW 7.0), see http://support.businessobjects.com/documentation/supported_platforms/default.asp
However, the BOE Web Tier is not shipped with SAP NetWeaver, but can be deployed on an SAP NetWeaver system with usage type AS Java at customer side.
SAP is evaluating if we could ship the Busines Object Enterprise Web Tier with SAP NetWeaver in the future but that cannot be confirmed yet.
Still, in this scenario, the Busines Object Enterprise backend server would need to be installed as a separate server."
Can the Busines Object Enterprise backend server be deployed on an SAP NetWeaver system with usage type AS Java?
"No, as this is not a J2EE application, but a mix of Java and C++.
SAP is evaluating if the Busines Object Enterprise backend server could be shipped as a ""Standalone engine"" (as it is the case for BIA and Livecache
Can the whole or at least relevant parts of the whole Busines Object Enterprise be deployed to the NetWeaver J2EE server, so that distinct scenarios for Busines Object applications run without the need to install a separate Busines Object Enterprise backend server?
This scenario is currently planned for the next generation Analysis Client (Project: Pioneer) and evaluated for the Java based Crystal Version.
I am trying to understand the difference between BOE Web Tier and Busines Object Enterprise backend server....can you throw some light on it if you can.
I am a SAP BI consultant and one of my customers have this question on BOBJ. Any help will be appreciated.
    Thanks

  • SAP Netweaver Application Server ABAP Component

    Dear all,
In my Company we are implementing GRC Risk Management and have read in SAP Installation guides
that we have to install the SAP_ABA 7.01 (SP05) "SAP Netweaver Application Server ABAP Component"
and were wondering if it is mandatory to make this upgrade or if there is another way to make
    the installation without this component.
    Thanks very much

    Hello Enzo,
I hope that you are installing RM 3.0. For RM 3.0 you need the following:
    SAP_BASIS      701      SAPKB70103
    SAP_BW              701      SAPKW70103
The Requirements for ABAP + Java is SAP NetWeaver 7.01 Support Package 3 or higher. This is Mandatory.
You can find out more from the following guides available on SAP Service Market Place.
Logon to SAP SMP -> Downloads -> Release and Upgrade Info -> Installation & Upgrade Guides ->  SAP BusinessObjects Governance, Risk, Compliance (GRC) ->  Risk Management -> Release 3.0 (click Release 2.0 if you are looking for RM2.0). -> Installation Guide. In this you should be able to get the prerequisite for the RM application.
    Hope it helps.

  • New! Technology Preview SAP NetWeaver 04 - SAP Web Application Server on Lx

    Hi sdn gurus,
two new SAP NetWeaver versions for Linux were uploaded since 26.01.07:
New! Technology Preview SAP NetWeaver 04 - SAP Web Application Server on Linux SAP Evaluation  26 Jan 2007
New! Technology Preview SAP NetWeaver 04S - SAP Web Application Server on Linux SAP Evaluation  26 Jan 2007
Does anyone here know more about the installed components in that packages, like in the compare component matrix: https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/downloaditem?rid=/library/uuid/cfc19866-0401-0010-35b2-dc8158247fb6
Can anyone post here which of the following components are pre-installed:
    SAP NetWeaver Development Infrastructure
    SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio
    SAP NetWeaver Portal with PDK
    Web Dynpro
    Visual Composer
    Content Management and Collaboration
    TREX
SAP NetWeaver Business Intelligence Java SDK
    SAP Interactive Forms by Adobe
    Composite Application Framework
    Thank you....

    Hi Roman Doubrava,
the Linux Version (Technology Preview SAP NetWeaver 04S)  contains the ABAP and the J2EE stack itself. It is a technical demo for evaluation purposes. There are no additional components shipped with the installation media. Besides, some of the components you mention only run on Windows, the SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio for example.
Nevertheless you should be able to install SAP J2EE components (e.g. Portal) into you N4S Linux Testdrive. Just download the CD/DVDs from http://service.sap.com/swdc and try it out. I've already seen a Portal on top of the old NW4 (Netweaver 04) Testdrive.

  • FTP Server in SAP Web Application Server

    Hi,
Would like to know if SAP Web Application Server comes with built-in FTP Server.
    Thanks

    Hi,
FTP Server is not built in WAS. Integrate third-party products, tools, and applications, SAP Web Application Server supports several open connectivity standards, including the J2EE Connector Architecture and Microsoft .NET connectivity.
A wide range of protocols and formats is supported for communication with SAP, non-SAP, and third-party components. SAP Web Application Server is open to the Common Object Request Broker Architecture (CORBA), Component Object Model+ (COM+), File Transfer Protocol (FTP), and SMTP to connect to non-SAP systems.
IDoc and HTTP adapters sit on ABAP stack and the rest of the adapters(File, JDBC, SOAP etc) sit on JAVA stack.
File Transfer Protocol (FTP) is an open protocol for exchanging files on a server.

  • Sun Java Application Server - Domain and Node agent stop automatically

    Hi,
We have installed Sun Java Application server 8.1 in a local zone on Solaris 10. The installation was successful.
A default domain (domain1) was created. We have deployed a sample application too.
The problem is that the domain and node-agent stop automatically. And need to be restarted from asadmin start-domain command.
Not sure why this problem is occurring. One solution given in Sun Java System AS 8.1 EE Troubleshooting Guide was to add these 2 lines in the /etc/inittab file to restart the domain and node-agent whenever the system re-boots.
    das:3:respawn:/opt/SUNWappserver/bin/asadmin start-domain user admin passwordfile /opt/SUNWappserver/password.txt domain1
    das:3:respawn:/opt/SUNWappserver/bin/asadmin start-node-agent user admin passwordfile /opt/SUNWappserver/password.txt node-agent-name
Pls help me if I can change this inittab file from the local zone and if changing this file has any implications on the other zones on Solaris 10.
Else is there any other way to resolve this problem?
Any help would be highly appreciated.
    Thankyou.

One thing not clear from the post was,
    * when it is going down automatically.
    * Are you facing the same problem even after starting through the asadmin
    * If so, Post the server.log from "domains/logs" during the starup.
If you want to bring it up with system reboot, You need to have a startup script for that in init.d and have the links to rc2/3.d.

  • Sun Java Application Server 8.1 Upgrade Solaris 9 to Solaris 10

I have Sun Java Application Server 8.1 (version 8.1_02 (build b06-fcs) ) and HA which are currently installed on Solaris 9 box (Sparc).
Now, I plan to upgrade Solaris 9 to Solaris 10. What should I need to do before and after migration?
    Thanks.

Before I start, disclaimer -- I have no knowledge of Hibernate and the following comments are based on the stack trace you have included.
I think your permissions might be set all right but you might have an error in the hibernate query. It looks like hibernate uses antlr to parse the queries. While parsing the query, antlr is encountering an exceptional condition and is trying to exit the VM (by calling System.exit()). Obviously, the hibernate code does not have that permission and therefore the exception is logged.
My guess is if you fix the query such that hibernate/antlr can parse it, you will not run into this error.
    Hope this helps,

  • User Role problems in Sun Java Application Server Platform Edition 8

I am having two problems setting up user roles in Sun Java Application Server Platform Edition 8. At first, I thought that it was a problem with the higher level features that I was using, so I created a very simple example using the simplest authentication I can use, but the problem still occurs. I am using the file realm and configuring the users in the App Server Admin Console. I create 2 users in different roles. One user should have access, the other should not.
    1) The first problem is that both users can access the page
    2) The second problem is that the isUserInRole() method returns false for both users with the role that it should be authenticating against.
Here is a sample of my code:
    Users Configured in Console:

    - Brian

    Hi Jeanfrancois,
Your suggestion has lead me to find my problem. There were actually three problems.
    1) First, you suggestion to reorder my xml file did not cause any errors to occur. I got suspicious that my web.xml file was wrong. I looked at some sample web-xml files and found that I was missing the header as follows:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <!DOCTYPE web-app PUBLIC '-//Sun Microsystems, Inc.//DTD Web Application 2.3//EN' 'http://java.sun.com/dtd/web-app_2_3.dtd'>
    2) When I added this information, the deploy feature failed stating the my web.xml file was out of order. I fixed the ordering. It now deployed, but the security still wasn't working.
    3) I then added the sun-web.xml file. This file was missing before hand as I thought it was unnessary. However, this file added the essential mapping from a role to a group. After adding this, it now started to work.
Thanks so much for you time and effort. You really did help me.
