SAP LSO Learning Solution - Content Player

We don't want to use the Java based online/offline content player for viewing/displaying course content. Does anyone know if the content is compatible with either Flash or Media Player? What is the format of how the content is delivered?

Hello Gurus,
I recently started gaining knowledge in one of the HCM module-LSO,But i dont know how to move on for WBT/Online course type.
Once you select the course type as online or WBT, what all data needs to be maintained?..what should i maintain in "course type content"?
how to create content type?
Can you please share your knowlegde & guide me in detail about this?

How to find out if LSO (Learning Solution) is on NW04s

Hi
I have a system ERP 2005 with EH04 on the r/3 side.
I have a Netweaver 2004s portal pointing at that r/3 system and I would like to know if the content of LSO is already on my portal server.
Also, I am looking for the pre-requisites that I need from the r/3 side and for the portal side.
Any help on this will be appreciated.

Pre-requisite for Learning Solution Implementation

Dear All,
We were planning for LSO Implementation. But we were not sure about the components that needs to be installed in ECC as well as in Portal. We have LSOFE 600 ( Learning Solution Front end ) installed in our ECC 6.0 server. What else the components that needs to be installed for LSO implementation?
The following were the components available for Learning Solution as per note 529063
LSO - Learning Solution Add-on ( in ECC Server )
LSOFE - Learning Solution front end ( in ECC Server )
LSOCP - Learning solution content player ( in Portal server )
LSOAE - Learning Solution Authorizing environment ( in Portal server )
Do we need to install all the above said components? As per note 600209 LSO is available only for R/3 4.7 version? Which add-on do we need to install for ECC 6.0? Is LSO add-on is mandotory? Any help is much appreciated.

To determine possible landscape components use the Service Marketplace at http://service.sap.com/learningsolution -> Necessary System Environment (right hand side) -> Continue to Find Realization Alternatives for Selected Scenario "Managing Enterprise Learning Strategies" -> Implementation in SAP ERP (radio button). Options are now available that show the required and optional components necessary for the implementation.

Training and Event Management (now called <b>Training Management (TEM)</b>, sometimes referred to as PE in SAP documentation). Employees/Learners were able to book courses and view their training history via Employee Self-Service, and supported the full suite of classroom training administration functions.
SAPs current learning software is SAPs Learning Solution (LSO). Companies still can use TEM to administer classroom-only training or they can choose to leverage LSO functionality to deliver classroom training as well as Web-based training, virtual classrooms, blended learning, and collaboration to their employees.
Training Management (TEM) serves as the foundation of SAPs Learning Solution (LSO). However, LSO includes much new functionality such as administering and delivering Web-based training, virtual classrooms, curricula, and online tests. The entire LSO consists of SAP Authoring Environment, Content Management System (CMS), Learning Management System (LMS), Learning Portal, Content Player, Offline Player, Business Intelligence (BI), and the Collaboration functionality.

Driver programme of Script In Learning Solution (LSO-HR)

Hi experts ,
I am working on a LSO(Learning Solution SAP HR module) SAP 'Z' Script.
Currently the driver programme of this SAP Script is a standard programme.
I want to make take a 'Z' Copy of this programme for customization.
This 'Z' copy of the standard driver programme is called from transaction LSO_PP40. In order to configure this driver programme
from this transaction , there must be some configuration(NACE etc).
Anybody has ideas on how to do this configuration.

Error in the BSP service of business package SAP Learning Solution

Hi all,
I'm implementing the business package for Learning.
I've activated a BSP service in Backend system (ECC 5.0) with BP LSOFE300 (Sap E-Learning Solution).
On testing the BSP service,I've a "Raise Exceptions" on link "Training Activity" and in others link "Error: RC 2".
This is the exception:
Exception condition "INITIAL_LEARNER" raised.
Tipe of interruption: RABAX_STATE
ABAP Hierarchy:
Function: LSOF_LEARNER_GET_ACTIVITIES of program SAPLLSO_FRONTEND

I have a problem described below. I am not sure where it is coming from.
I installed bp for Learning Solution 300 on EP6.0 SP16. It has one BSP iView. The iview is assgined to a page and page to workset and worset to a role. Couple of Portal User ID was assgined this role. SAPR/3 user ids same as portal user ids were assigned to IT105 of PERNR in t-code 'pa30'.
We are using SAP logon ticket method for SSO with ECC5.0.
I logged into portal with one user id and tested the application. The corresponding PERNR was assigned some qualifications, profile match up etc. in the backend. The values are getting updated in the portal.
But when I logged into portal with another user id, I am seeing the same qualifcations of the last 'PERNR' instead of the qualificaitons of 'PERNR' assgined to this User ID.

Help on setting up SAP LSO on ECC6 with EP

I would really appreciate if I can receive help on this.
We're currently exploring the SAP Discovery Server. I understand that
SAP Learning Solution has taken over Training Management. Can I ask if
the image provided comes with Learning Portal, Content Player and
Authoring Environment? If they do, may I know how I can activate them
so that they can be displayed in portal? Is there any complete and comprehensive Step by Step SAP LSO 600 documentation that helps? All I could find were for
versions 100, 200 and 300.
I've tried the below pages but they can't be displayed:

Hi Damien,
I do not believe that SAP Discovery Server will have much on Learning Solution. You would not have the Content Player or Authoring Environment.
Much of the LSO 600 documentation is found in service.sap.com. Go to https://websmp202.sap-ag.de/support
Select Release & Upgrade Info/Installation & Upgrade Guide. Under Installation & Upgrade Guides select SAP Business Suite Applications-SAP ERP-SAP ERP 6.0---Installation.
You will find some guides for LSO Authoring Environment, Content Player & Offline Player.
Since LSO 6.00 is part of ERP 6.0 (or ERP 2005), there are additional information in the installation guides under there that you will need to consult.
Additionally, you should consult https://websmp202.sap-ag.de/learningsolution. Under media library, you will find information on the Training management portion of LSO, the Authoring Environment and Learning Portal. There is a Configuration Guide there that is also very useful.
The Learning Portal is included in ECC 6.0. The Content Player which is a Java application needs to be installed separately as well as the Authoring Environment which is a desktop (client) application. But you should confirm with your SAP Account Executive about licenses for using LSO (there is/was a user and author license).
The SAP Enterprise Portal is an optional component and is not part of LSO per say. Customers can run the Learning Portal in their own intranet as the Learning Portal pages are just BSPs that sit in ERP (ECC) and can be accesses via a URL.
You can include the Learning Portal page in the EP using a delivered iView which is really pretty much empty since the pages come from ERP.
If this helps, don't forget to allocate the points.

How to hide a field in WD ABAP in SAP LSO for privacy reasons?

Hi all,
For my current project, the business wants to implement SAP LSO (Learning).
They would like to have some small changes in the WebDynpro for ABAP iview "pcd:portal_content/com.sap.pct/specialist/com.sap.pct.erp.instructor.bp_folder/com.sap.pct.erp.instructor.iviews/com.sap.pct.erp.instructor.course_details".
For privacy reasons they want to make the field "Address of the participant" invisible via CTRL-rightmouse Click in Admin mode.
Various fields are done in the first screen, but when you click on the link "Participant XYZ", you get additional information of it.
I am not seeing any fields in Admin mode on that level. How can I make this happen for all users?
FYI: I can't find the "Address" field in the Element structure UI.
We can disable the link to the participant, but that's not what the business wants. Hopefully someone has the solution (without WD-developement actions please..)

What you can do is the following:
Start the application in a 'normal' way, so not in the preview mode. Select the course, and copy/paste the url that is generated in notepad. Please note the following string:
ASSIGNED_AS=Docent&OBJID=50000716&OTYPE=E&PLVAR=01 (Values will differ on your system).
These are the input parameters of the WD Abap that gets called, which is lso_mc_admn_course_dtls. (The iView that gets called is pcd:portal_content/com.sap.pct/specialist/com.sap.pct.erp.instructor.bp_folder/com.sap.pct.erp.instructor.iviews/com.sap.pct.erp.instructor.course_details).
Start the Web Dynpro ABAP (you can do this through the backend with transaction SE80, choose Comp/Intf Web Dynpro, enter LSO_MC_ADMN_COURSE_DTLS for the Web Dynpro ABAP, then click open the Web Dynpro Applications bit, double click on lso_mc_admn_course_dtls. Then, from the top menu, select Web Dynpro Application --> Test --> Execute in Administration mode.
Now add the string that has something like ASSIGNED_AS right until PLVAR=## (the string I pasted up here in this answer). You're now in admin mode with the correct parameters, and you can change the app. Don't forget to transport the changes you made!

SAP LSO Content Player Error

We are in the process of upgrading SAP to 6.0. We also upgrade our LSO from 300 to 600 including the Authoring Environment and the Content Management System. Now, after we publish the course via the Authoring Environment/Repository Explorer and try to play the course from our portal, it gives an error saying Incomplete or Incorrect Data. I have looked at the R/3 configuration and everything looks good there. Is there anything else that needs to be done for the LSO upgrade?
I did notice that a lot of people have posted the same issue in the forums, however I haven't seen the solution being posted. Any help/suggestions regarding this will be appreciated!

Hi Kavita,
In general, this issue can occur when the course is created in the learning portal and the course doesn't exist in the path of the CMS.
Please try the following:
1) Please try another course to see if this issue still happens.
2) Try restarting only the content player to see if this corrects the issue.
