Save a document as a jpeg

I prepared a newsletter, on a Mac operating in Clasic mode using Pagemaker 7, a few months ago and somehow saved each page as a jpeg so that I could transport it on a flash drive to various PCs for printing. It printed the same as the original and I would like to do that again but for the life of me, I can not remember how I did it. It was a very simple process as I remember and the results were ideal for what I need. I now have another newsletter and need to do the same thing. I hope that someone can help me with this as it is really frustrating me that I did something and now can not remember how I did it. Thank you

Are you sure you mean "jpeg"? Saving pages of a newsletter as jpegs seems like a bad choice if your only reason is transporting them to various PCs for printing.
Instead of each page as a jpeg, save the whole newsletter as one PDF instead. Your vector images and text won't be rasterized, and PDFs can be very small in file size if that's a concern. I think jpegs would have to have pretty low res and high compression to get their file sizes down that low, and you would lose lots of quality that PDFs would retain.

I made a picture collage in pages from the pictures in iPhoto.  You used to be able to print and then say save as a jpeg to iPhoto and that option is gone.  How do you turn your document into a jpeg now?

If you chose print, you can save as PDF. If you open the saved PDF in preview, you can save as JPEG, GIF, PNG. FYI you can crop in preview.
Another option is you could use command + shift + 4 to do a screen shot of a specific part of of the screen.

The folks here would need far more information from you before they provide help.
You know the drill:  Exact OS...PS version...etc. The more you provide, the better.
What is the exact message that is displayed?
What have you tried so far?
Do the files display on your browser? In Bridge?
What are you doing when it happens?
Are the files still on your cameras card? If so and,you copy one to your desktop and save it without changes, does it reload properly?
Don't worry about providing too much information. Every little bit helps.

  • Word document with picture JPEG

When I save a word document with a JPEG picture inserted to PDF the picture appears gray?

    Hi Martin,
Are you viewing that PDF in Adobe Reader or Acrobat (and what version)?
It sounds like you may have an option selected in the preferences that causes large images to appear as gray boxes. Please try this:
Choose Edit > Preferences (Windows) or Acrobat/Reader > Preferences (Mac OS).
Click the Page Display category on the left.
Select Show Large Images, and then click OK.
    Did that do the trick?

How do I save a chart as a jpeg. In excel I right click, "save as picture." Not seeing anything like that in Numbers.

Here is a script dedicated to Numbers.
You will find explanations in French and English at the beginning.
    CAUTION :
it requires the installation of a Unix command file which gives us the ability to check if a modifier key is depressed.
During my tests, only shift or fn keys were correctly detected.
Maybe it was because I did my tests in the AppleScript Editor.
I choose the fn key which, as far as I know, is not used to define the area to save.

How do I convert a Word document into a jpeg?

    Hi there
You cannot directly open a Word document in Photoshop, nor can you save a .jpeg in Microsoft Word. A work around for this is to save the document as a PDF, which will allow you to open it in Photoshop:
    1. Open your document in Microsoft Word. Select File > Save As... and select PDF from the Format dropdown menu.
    2. Open Photoshop and go to File > Open... and select your newly created PDF file. An Import PDF dialog box will pop up. From the "Crop To" dropdown menu, select Media Box. This will prevent Photoshop from cropping your document size down to just the text area. Click OK.
    3. Now, you can select File > Save As..., and select JPEG from the Format dropdown menu.
A quick note, when I opened the PDF in Photoshop, there was a transparent background behind my text. To solve this, just create a new fill layer by going to Layer > New Fill Layer > Solid Color... and selecting white. Then just drag this fill layer below the layer with your text on it. This layer will flatten when you save your image as a jpeg.
    Hope this was helpful!

  • Is it possible to add code to a button that would save the form as a jpeg file?

    Hi,
I currently use pdf forms to create records for the work I do, these end up being 5-8MB large and not much smaller when 'flattened'. I currently use a 3rd party app to convert them to jpeg before uploading them to dropbox for the clients.  Is there a way to create code that i could add to  a button which would save the pdf as a jpeg file?

    Hi,
The PDF forms are large because they include a large diagram which I then elaborate on with the drawing tools.  I actually use acrobat to make and edit the form but PDF Expert on my iPad to edit them etc sorry probably should have clarified that. It is a single page however with form field and the diagram.  I also attach a picture to the file before opening it in an app to convert to jpeg and then sending it back to pdf expert.
The save as button only allows me to save it as a flattened or original document within PDF Experts guidelines hence why i was wondering if there was someway to curcumvent that and save it as a jpeg directly, somehow integrating the other app with the pdf expert programm t stop me having to switch between the two.
The more I write the more I see how impossible this might be apologies for my ignorance if so.

  • Can't Save as a Png or Jpeg

When ever I try and save as a png or jpeg photoshop cc crashes and the file doesn't save. Also there is a warning button next to save that when i click it it says:
"the current file format must be saved as a copy because: It will not save all the document layers."

What OS version are you using?
Have you installed the 14.1.1 update?
And it sounds like you have added layers to the image, so it must save as a copy to those format that don't support layers (which is perfectly normal).
But I'd like to know what is causing you to crash while saving.
Does it crash while the save dialog is open?  After the format options dialog goes away?  Have you tried disabling background saving?

  • Document sizes and jpeg compression / quality

In relation to Photoshop, in the status bar at the bottom it displays what it calls “document sizes”.  Would someone be able to clarify can this be used to determin the quality of a jpeg file ?
For example if I open up a jpeg with no compression (file size on disk is 4.57mb) it displays Doc:34.5M/34.5M however if I open the same file with compression set at 5 (file size on disk is 748kb) and ‘document size’ doesn’t change.  How does the document size relate to jpeg compression etc...?
    Thank you

Open a file, say a tiff or psd, zoom in close to the image, about 400% on a recognizable detail. Use the Save As... command, select JPEG, and click Save.
When  you get to the dialog box, run the Quality slider to 0 and observe what happens to the pixels. It's like they are clumped together in large blocks.
That's how it saves on disk space when it is written back to the file.
477k/477k is the uncompressed size/size in ram and 31.5k is the saved to file compressed size caused by clumping all those pixels together. Of course you trash the file that way,but that's where compression saves space. Not by reducing the pixel count, but by consolidating them.
My point is is that you adjust that slider by eye and from there decide what optimal quality number is worth the space saved.
With broadband connections and terabyte drives, I would not see any point to less than 12 quality compression these days.
